What a disappointment this was. My husband and I were looking to try a new place for lunch and hoped it would be good. No such luck. Although it wasn't busy, we waited quite a while even for beverages. When the waitress eventually took our orders, I asked for a cheese burger club sandwich, medium rare, add onions. My husband got a chicken parm sub. When we finally got our lunches, she served mine with no French fries, which I eventually received a few moments later. The burger on my club sandwich was so overcooked it was like a piece of shoe leather. There were no onions, and the minuscule piece of cheese didn't look or taste like cheese, but reminded me of a piece of curled up parchment paper. My husband's sub was fair but she forgot to bring him the glass of water he'd asked for and he had to keep asking for refills of his iced tea. My wife and I go here often for breakfast. The staff, including the owners who are always on site, are so friendly and attentive. Their breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, as well as their Eggs Benedict and waffles. As others have mentioned, the place is incredibly clean, which contrasts quite a bit with a competing breakfast joint right nearby that is not really kept up at all. We just ate here. I though with the decent reviews were would have a good expeience the place was not crowded at all The place was very clean. The menu is extensive. I had a chicken parm sub. Which was not great It was chopped up chicken not large pieces of chicken breast. My wife got the cheese burger club it was awful. She asked for medium rare Ian's came out well done she asked for grilled onion and there were no onion. It too about 10 minutes of sitting and then over 30 minutes to get our food. At this point we just wanted out. It took another 20 minutes to get our bill. While the server was nice she was extremely slow. I haven't seen a restaurant this clean for years. I have had a very nice no rush breakfast here but today I sat on the stools waiting for a take out. I could see behind the counter and it was spotless. The eggplant is thin sliced, not greasy at all and no bitterness. Perfect. I am somewhat of an eggplant expert as it is my go to. Formerly Olive Cafe, Piatto Cafe is a casual roadside breakfast and lunch restaurant serving traditional breakfast fare all day and Italian American fare for lunch (starts at 11am) including a variety pasta dishes, salads, lemon rice soup, subs, sandwiches, wraps, and desserts. The place was redone nicely with counter seating (high chairs), booths and tables. I stopped in for breakfast recently. The place was fairly busy for breakfast with plenty of customers and takeout customers. I could sit where I wanted and chose a table with a view of the open concept kitchen. I ordered the Western Omelette ($12.95 plus tax) served with hash browns and toast and got an ice water. My food was served to me in about 10 minutes after ordering. The Western Omelette was a blended folded egg sheet with ham, onions, green peppers & American cheese. The hash browns were flat grilled, shredded seasoned potatoes. The multi grain toast was buttered pretty well. I put some Frank's Red Hot Sauce on my food for a nice kick and actually made Western Omelette sandwiches with the buttered toast. As I was eating, the place for really busy with large families arriving here and tables and chairs were moved around to accommodate. I was promptly given the check after I looked over at the server. The check with tax and before tip was $13.86. Overall, the Western Omelette breakfast was filling and tasted just fine. I will have to stop in again for lunch to try some Italian food. read more

Visited the new Piatto Cafe (@piatto_cafe_rowley) in Rowley today for some take home lunch and really enjoyed our food! We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with Linguini and a side order Eggplant Parmigiana. There is so much food we split the orders and made chicken/eggplant parm it was so good! Oven warmed rolls with butter were also included. Met the owners and they couldn't have been any nicer. Raising a family of their own and a new business. Congratulations! If you haven't tried Piatto Cafe in Rowley you out to give them a try. The quality and love they're putting into their food is fantastic. I was visiting the area and had a little flexibility in my schedule. Found this wonderful place and it didn't disappoint. Coffee was OK but the omelette I ordered was flavorful and serving size was ample. When I entered I was greeted with a smile, seated immediately and was asked for my order shortly after. Second time going, wanted to give it a second chance because everyone has been raving about it and yelling at me to try it again. So I did. And I still wasn't impressed. Service was bad, we had to yell for attention to get our coffee refilled, was given dirty silverware, and food took forever to come out despite there being barely anyone in the restaurant. Our omelettes were fine, nice and big but needed salt and pepper, they and the hash browns were not very flavorful. Two stars this time instead of one because omelettes were alright. I gave it another shot. Maybe I'll try again in the future, but I'm not looking forward to it. read more

This is NOT JUST A BREAKFAST AND LUNCH JOINT!! IT has GREAT dinners as well.Their meals are very generous and the preparation is excellent. Although my favorite is eggplant parm, their shrimp scampi, chicken parm and a few other meals are not far behind. Don't underestimate this place. They also have trays of food that are great for larger lunch/dinner gatherings. This is homemade food from a family that knows how to cook! A friend and I stoped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. The folks there were very friendly and helpful, and the space was clean and sunny . The food was good and put together with obvious pride. The one criticism I would offer (and this was corroborated in a conversation with a neighbor who found the same) is that the food could have been warmer by the time it got to the table.
