I brought it back and asked for it to be reheated before returning to my seat. Since I was only asking for the soup to be warmed up, I did not expect it to take more than five minutes. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes, possibly longer, and eventually had to walk back to the counter to ask about it. A staff member told me it would be out shortly. After waiting another five minutes, the soup was returned, but it was still not hot. The cheese had not melted and looked unappetizing. It appeared that the soup had simply been sitting out, causing the cheese to sink rather than melt properly. I brought this to a staff member's attention, but there was no apology. Instead, I was simply asked what I wanted them to do. The lack of customer service was disappointing. They asked if I wanted a refund and I decline. I was expecting an apology for the delay or at least an explanation of what had happened. Since it had rained earlier, we were looking forward to enjoying something warm, comforting and good vibes. Instead, we left with a feeling that our concerns were dismissed. An apology goes a long way, but good customer service is even more important. If you want customers to return, acknowledging mistakes and addressing concerns professionally should be expected.

I understand that ownership has changed recently. That being said, I had my first bad experience at…read moreChanging Tides this past weekend. I'm a regular that comes in about once a month. We ordered food and two lattes around noon. One of the sandwiches came out in ten minutes. Another fifteen minutes went by with no other items from the order. Everyone who ordered after us received their coffees or food. When I asked one of the employees about it, she shrugged and said "sorry" and proceeded to turn her back to me in order to organize scones and remaining pastries. She then took an order for two americanos and made them immediately. At this point, I felt pretty offended and had been waiting about 30 minutes for two lattes and an açaí bowl (again, the BLT had come out in 10 minutes after the order was placed). I told the present employees that this behavior (the rudeness etc) sucked and asked for the rest of the order to be refunded. The staff had to get an older man from the back who was either the owner or the manager. He did refund the forgotten items from the order and told me lunch is a difficult time to come to Changing Tides as they don't handle orders well in the middle of the day. This experience made me really sad. I loved this place and I will not be returning.
