Clam chowder (super watery and bland)
    Chris T.

Amazing location on the water, def smells like a fishing pier as to be expected and adds to the authenticity of a fishing town. Enjoyed the beautiful day, plenty of outdoor seating and seeing all the young baseball players and their families enjoying a meal! Drinks are inside at the bar, bathrooms could be cleaner haha. The food ran about $80 after lobster roll basket, clam chowder cup and two bottled drinks. Good amount of lobster, and picturesque for the amount on the plate. There was however no seasoning or flavor but some folks probably like the plain lobster itself. There wasn't much hot butter on our order, least none that we could really detect. Cooked well but super bland. The clam chowder was extremely watery and bland. Need like 3 packets of pepper and a packet of salt.. Everything else about the space, the view, the seating was great on a beautiful New England day! Staff taking your order at window was nice, pickup your food via buzzer at the further window!

Shared a fried clam plate (with fries) and a side of coleslaw. Not cheap but a good amount. Clams were whole as I like them but a little over fried so too dry. Cole slaw was good. Also seen on menu: lobster roll for $45. Not even kidding. But, a whole lobster for $25 and 2 for $35! Now that's a good deal. And they were good sized! Now that don't make sense. If I hadn't had pounds of lobster the previous week I'd have gotten that but I didn't have clams yet so that's what I picked. There was a live band blasting but luckily we managed to find a place inside on the veranda so it didn't bother us.

I had high hopes for the Blue Collar Lobster... unfortunately we were not impressed by the food here. It seemed like a great place to stop by after spending the day at the beach, as from pictures it looked like they had pretty big lobster rolls. Each lobster roll is $45; steep price BUT is the norm in Massachusetts. Typically smaller rolls for the same/similar price, so we figured why not stop by and try it out. Right before the entrance, there was this really fishy smell... as expected since it's right by the water. Still, we continued to walk in and ordered at the window & sat at one of the high top stools outside by the water. They give you a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. We ordered a warm butter lobster roll to share, which came with fries, and a cup of clam chowder. Not sure which was more disappointing, the lobster roll or the clam chowder. The lobster roll did indeed come with a generous amount of lobster (~1/2 lb of meat), however, was flavorless. The clam chowder was very watery, lacked flavor, and honestly tasted like it came a bag. Meh. Love clam chowder in general & we always order it at places that offer it. To put in perspective how bad it was, we didn't even finish it lol. The salt and pepper packets could not save it. Fries came unsalted, also flavorless, and ended up sprinkling around 5 salt packets. And then, we kept seeing other tables have Shirley temples in to-go plastic cups so after our order was ready, we decided to go back to the counter to ask if we could get Shirley temples. They claimed to not sell Shirley temples here? Not sure if it was because they were getting ready to close but from reviews via Google, others have posted Shirley temples from here lol... it is hard to believe they don't sell Shirley temples given they have a full bar inside, unless that is a separate establishment, the Gloucester House maybe? Oh well. We ended up getting one unsweetened bottle of Pure Leaf & a can of sprite because we were parched. Those two drinks were ~$4 each, haha geez. Anywho, it was fun to try & at least now we know this spot was not for us.

When I tell you I'm STILL thinking about this lobster! Blue Collar is a lobster restaurant right on the water, which grants you beautiful ocean views while you engorge. The service was fine, but the main event was the HEAPING servings of lobster they give you. My friend and I got the lobster roll and the whole lobster, and I'm still dreaming about both. What a delicious place!

We have a ton of good fish shacks on our little island of Cape Ann and this one is as good as any number of them. You place your order at the counter and fast and efficiently you'll be eating your uber fresh seafood! Don't let the lines or big crowds scare you away tables turn over pretty quickly and it's worth a few minutes of waiting time if a table isn't available. Live music on the weekends is an added plus.

What a fun place!!! I came here this past Saturday for my friend's 60th birthday celebration and then took my husband here the following day to celebrate Father's Day! :) The band, view, staff, and food were all awesome!!! We ate the Tuna poke bowl, Fried Haddock sandwich, and Cheeseburger. Next time, I'm ordering the Onion Rings because they looked yummy!

We went here after going on the Cape Ann Whale Watch. Loved the location, loved everything about that. You order at a counter and are asked to tip, before you've ever even seen the food. You have to go get your drinks at a separate location. These lobster rolls photograph beautifully and the fries were delicious, but the lobster rolls had absolutely ZERO flavor. None. You couldn't taste the butter, the mayo, nothing. It was so disappointing. It was $10 for a plastic cup of beer, you have to get your own water. To be so highly rated, it was a total let down. The ambience is great, too. Great place to people watch, but dropping $100 for two lobster rolls and a beer was a bit disappointing. And before you ask, no, we didn't let anybody know. Who would we have told? No one seemed particularly interested in whether or not their guests are being taken care of. If it's service and flavorful food you're looking for, skip this place.

Awesome! 1) Well, if you want the ultimate lobster roll, this is the place. Fresh, large and delicious. 2) this is a serve yourself kind of restaurant. You order at one window and pick up at the other. Seating is outdoors by Gloucester Harbour so very scenic. 3) I ordered the fish combo, which included clams, shrimp, calamari, fish, and fries. The portions were HUGE! The height of the food on my plate was staggering. Even better was the taste--everything was fresh, tasty and delicious. 4) this place is about GOOD FOOD and large portions. It's Boston Seafood heaven, and if I might say so, this is what Legal Sea Foods used to be 30 or 40 years ago. Highly recommended!

I love going here to eat when the weather is nice outdoors. It's outdoor seating next to the docked boats. You may even see one of the Wicked Tuna captains at their boat. This restaurant is part of The Gloucester House. There is covered seating so you don't need to worry too much about seagulls dive bombing to steal your food. It's cafeteria style so order at the window and bus your table. I find the prices and portions reasonable. Fisherman's platter is shareable unless you're a really big eater. I often split it with my 2 teenagers - one eats the fish, one eats the calamari & clams, I eat whatever they don't. Tuna poke is fresh and has a nice variety of toppings but I'd prefer hot rice, not cold, and I don't mean room temp, it's cold rice. There's a parking lot nearby and bathrooms are clean.

We enjoyed a meal here after whale watching at 7 seas. A lobster roll really hit the spot- we got the hot kind with butter (but you can also get the cold kind with mayo). The meat was deliciously fresh, to the extent that it was a bit sweet. The roll was stuffed- you had to eat some first, before picking it up, so it wouldn't spill. We also enjoyed fried seafood, such as calamari and shrimp. They also offer live and steamed lobsters at reasonable prices.

We found this spot while exploring the Gloucester area. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We dined on the deck while watching the boats come and go. My husband ordered fried shrimp which was a lot of food, cooked perfectly. I had the lobstah roll and it was so much juicy, buttery lobster I gave up finding the roll! I had enough lobster and fries for another meal at home later. I got a spicy passion fruit margarita from the bar next door which was delicious as well!

Looks like they are generally open 9am-6pm daily, sometime early May through year end. Order at the counter inside their little shop, pay, and head down the little alley (hold on tightly to your stuff so you don't accidentally drop anything enroute) to their back deck with limited seating, and access to their bathrooms. Listen up for your name and they will bring you your food on a tray. A family of three shared the 3 chicken lobsters for $50 during the 2025 season, and a dozen raw oysters for $30. My single lobster was $18. Single oysters $3 apiece. Creamy clam chowder $7. Stuffed clam $3. The $30 cold lobster roll came with cole slaw and a bag of chips. The hot dog roll looked small but was well filled with fresh sweet lobster meat. Her smoked salmon $8 were two thick chunks of fish. My hot in-shell boiled lobster arrived several minutes after, pre-cracked. Carefully poured out the green water, and I went at it. Making use of the sink by the bathroom afterwards to get cleaned up. A delicious way to start our outing to Rockport! BTW parking in the nearby area is paid and seasonal. Head to the kiosk, enter the license plate, pay an affordable price, and stick the slip on your dashboard. Parking tickets are no fun.

It's a nice and lively place with a beautiful marsh view at the deck area, a very pleasant area to sit in during summer. They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait for a bit if you want a table. The service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. I got a bountiful fish n' chips, enough for two people to split which was a nice surprise. The clam chowder and calamari were top notch as well, and everything tasted very fresh which isn't a surprise given the location. Nice big chunks of clams in there which I appreciate. The portions overall were great. I caught a glimpse of other dishes and they looked quite elaborate! If you're into tuna, there's a layered tuna lasagna looking thing that a lot of people seemed to get. The seared salmon also seemed great. Next time I might try lobster!
