Came to Seaport Grille for a late lunch. This restaurant's portions are large and filling! Both meals were delicious! We had the Lobster Club and the Fisherman's Platter. Both meals were fresh and tasty. The fries were our favorite! They were so good! The service was phenomenal and on point. Our waitress was on top of refills and ensuring our meal was good. This is a popular place so definitely reserve ahead as there may be a wait without reservations. It was just me so I got lucky to get a seat at the bar. The bartender was very on point with service and kept refilling my gingerale every time he noticed I was low. He let me know if there were when my food was coming up soon and attentive by asking if everything was good or needed anything. It was my first time in Gloucester and met some great people at the bar. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. I had the lump crab cakes to start and a fisherman's platter. They give big portions. If you get a margarita it's usually served in a large glass it was the talk of the bar. The other couples got the bang bang shrimp and they said it was good. I saw another couple with the apple crisp and the other with the key lime pie let me tell you it looks like a cake. Our mouths dropped like whoa I want that lol. I was disappointed tonight with the Fish and Chips, which is my favorite at the Seaport Grille. They have stopped using the round Portuguese style french fries, replacing them with the cheap string fry you would find at a fast food restaurant. The Portuguese fries never got soggy because of their shape, where the fries tonight were one globby mess under the fish. The fries even made the fish a little soggy, which has never happened before. I hope they return to the previous fries. A restaurant shouldn't mess with a perfect winner of a plate. I'll go back one more time, and hopefully they will stop using the cheap fries, as it degrades the quality of the meal. read more

This place was amazing! The food, the service, the waterfront location! Their Clam chowder was insanely good! I got the halibut, it was the biggest piece of halibut I have ever had or seen! The lemon sauce was perfection, brought the entire dish together. My husband got the fra diavolo, which is seafood pasta. It was loaded with seafood and the biggest portion!! It was so good! Our son got the lobster ravioli and they were the best I've tried. No shortage of lobster! Our waitress recommended the key lime pie for dessert and although Ive never been a big fan of it in the past this dessert was insanely good and you don't get just a slice you get your own pie! My husband and I have been coming here for the lobster roll special on Thursdays for many years (we have pictures we posted when the cost was $9.95--that's a long time ago!) We were there yesterday and left disappointed. Bad enough the cost has gone up $4 since the last time were here; that is to be expected since the cost of everything else around us has gone up. We were very disappointed in the size of the lobster roll. What was once overflowing to the point where you needed a fork to help eat it, is now about half that size. It seemed like there was more bread than lobster in our sandwiches. We decided it is not really worth the 25-mile trip to go there anymore. read more

Amazing seafood restaurant located by the inner harbor at Gloucester. We waited for 45 minutes for our group of 6 to be seated at 5pm on a Saturday. We had some drinks at the bar while we waited so it wasn't too bad. We were seated on the patio and had a lovely view of the harbor. The patio also gets a nice breeze during the summer. The food was totally worth the wait. We started with the grilled octopus, crab cakes, and clam chowder. Everything was incredible. The crab cakes were some of the best I ever had. I ordered the halibut for my main and my wife got the fisherman's platter. The halibut was cooked to perfection and the asparagus that came with it was a great accompaniment. Everything on the fisherman's platter was delicious. It was all fried perfectly, not overdone or underdone, just right. Will have to come back here on my next visit to Gloucester. read more

Right on the water in Gloucester, this is a more casual spot with a lot of families. However the menu options are diverse and elevated. Portions sizes are huge. Huge. Not just for the cheap items. I have had a lot of tuna tartare in my life and this was certainly the largest. It included the option to replace wontons with cucumbers and didn't have a bunch of filler with the tuna. Awesome size for the value. Pasta dishes are comically large. I also got the pear martini which was good and they gave me the shaker on the side so I basically got two full martinis for the price of one. Service was fast and the type of local north shore staff who really know the menu, can give you an opinion and are no nonsense. This place was busy when arrived on a Wednesday at lunchtime! Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated immediately. As it was our first visit, we relied on our waitress to help decide what to eat. Dilyn did not disappoint. She knew the menu and her suggestions were on the money! We ordered the Firecracker Shrimp and a bowl of seafood chowder. Both were equally impressive for flavor and taste. Our main dishes were a Lobster BLT and a Seafood Trio. Again, impressive and tasty. Portion size was decent for the price on the Trio but the LBLT sandwich was humongous leading to a moment of "how do I bite into this and still look dignified?". For drinks, we had a Seaport Swizzle and a Pear Martini - again, good to the very end! We topped it all off with coffee and a slice of Mudslide Cake. The "slice" was enormous!!! We asked for to go containers which were cheerfully brought over (we boxed our own) and the overall total was quite reasonable for what we ate and drank. This is now our go to spot for when we come up this way in the future. The food, service, and ambience were exceptional and I'm guessing the outside deck is a great spot in the warmer weather. The food and ambiance was very good! We went today (Easter Sunday) and were able to be seated right away. We sat at a hightop table in the porch area which was so nice to be able to see the beach and water. Especially this time of year! I am gluten free and ordered the gluten free pasta for the lobster Mac and cheese and it was decent. However, there are no guaranteed gluten free meals, but there is gluten free pasta. No gluten free bread however. We were also told that any dishes that have crumbs or croutons are able to be removed. My boyfriend got the fried chicken tacos and he said they were okay. He rated them a 5/10. He wished that the avocado crema was put on the chicken instead of on top of the salsa because by the time he was eating it, it was falling off the taco. Not sure why the menu mocktails weren't being offered, but I settled for an Arnold Palmer. Had the fried calamari appetizer and I like their use of pepper dew peppers instead of super hots that burn your face off (like at some restaurants). My lobster roll was delicious. I'd forgotten that Seaport onion rings are the huge battered ones--I prefer the crispy onion shreds, but oh, well! Friend had the massive fried shrimp plate. My partner and I stumbled upon this place while driving down the coast! We were craving seafood and this place didn't disappoint. The sesame bread at the beginning was so yummy: warm and soft with a little crunch. I loved the fresh bread! The oysters were so good- not too salty. Our entrees were so good! The yellowfish tuna was a little tougher than expected, but it was really tasty nonetheless. The Chilean seabass was so good- super tender, melts in your mouth. I would've liked to have seen a little bit more bok Choy added to the dish. We didn't get dessert, but did see the dessert menu and weren't impressed. The desserts seemed generic, except for the coconut cake. Our waitress was attentive but not pushy. She refilled our water many times and checked in to make sure we were okay. My husband and I went on Saturday to be on the water with the crazy heat. We got there about 5:20pm and were quoted a 45 minute wait. I think we waited around 20 minutes! It took a bit for the server to come by, but she was apologetic. I got a cup of clam chowder to start and she brought some rolls! The chowder had a nice consistency, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was missing taste-wise. The bread was nice and hot. My husband got the fisherman's platter. He got two Cole slaws with it, but no tartar sauce. It took about 10 minutes for our server to come by so he could ask for some tartar sauce. Large portion, but the scallops tasted a little off to him. I got the lemon garlic parpadalle with shrimp and it was such a large portion. The sauce was nice and creamy and very flavorful. It came with 5 large shrimp! Very filling. We waited around for about 20 minutes to the server to come and drop the check. It was busy, but not majorly so. On vacation and wanted to have fresh seafood on the water. This is the spot to go. Food is absolutely delicious. Our waitresses (can't remember her name but she's from NJ) was a delight. She was sweet and accommodating. We enjoyed everything we ate, from the mussels to the clam chowder to the fish and chips. Only complaint is that we couldn't take food home because we were heading back home that day. Restaurant is spacious and no seat is a bad seat. Came here after reading raving reviews regarding the steamers, seafood and portions, and was slightly disappointed. Service was great, place was busy and loud. Now for the food, had the steamers, absolutely delicious although the clams had quite a bit of sand left, not purged all the way. And it's a whopping $30!!! For 1.5 lbs. look how small the portion is? That's enough for just 1 person. Really disgusted how overpriced it was since I was just at a seafood market prior and the price of steamers were $6 per lbs. I've seen photos with super big servings of this appetizer, for $30 it wasn't worth it. I would've given 2 stars but my seafood diavolo was really good, tasty, good portion of fresh scallops and shrimp, although not spicy for my taste and it is not humungous like what other reviewers say. I hate writing bad reviews but unfortunately I need to be honest. We got the pan seared scallop appetizer and it was more like a plate of corn with a side of scallop... I mean who wants all that corn?? It didn't taste bad but it was just odd. The salad wasn't bad at all but the dressing didn't really fit. It was edible though. The fish and chips were actually pretty tasty but lacked any salt. The pasta on the other hand was a no. I've had lemon pastas many times and this one was SOUR! The noodles were also all clumped together so i don't know i think i just got my hopes up since they had 4 stars. The service was okay but slow. Server also offered us bread and then forgot i guess so it didn't come. My mom asked for bread and then he acted like he didn't offer it first . The restaurant is so so cute though!!! Off the charts good and the serving is not a slice it is an entire deep dish key lime pie and one of the best I have ever had.
