It was my "birthday weekend" and have been wanting to try Jayd for over a year. We consider ourselves foodies and try the best of the best restaurants when we travel. We made the 1hr and 15min ride from Fairhaven Ma. Order was placed Tuesday for Saturday pickup with instructions of how they do it...freshly made which was apparent. We got the Spicy Yo Po Noodles, Chicken Jin Jin's and Pork buns. Pickup was easy and we took our food to Tower Hill Brewery which was 8 minutes away and had excellent beers and Seltzer. To the food...everything was excellent! Yo Po noodles stole the show, the sauce is like nothing I've ever had. Downright delicious! 2nd for us were the Chicken Jin Jin's. Probably 2 orders next time. Last in our opinion were the Pork Buns. Hear me out...I love pan fried Peking Raviolis! I order them every time I order Chinese food. These buns were delicious, with the pillow like bun. We are locals who order from Jayd Bun every once in a while, Most recently we had a delicious "chef's choice" dinner to celebrate a birthday. I emailed about a week in advance, gave my budget and the number of people eating. I asked them to surprise us because we always love trying new things and we know every item on the menu is great. We were provided with an EXCELLENT meal of Pork & veggie buns, beef Jin Jin dumplings, spicy yo po & the green monstah noodles (we'd never had the monstah before, it is not for the faint of heart, be prepared for SPICY) I didn't wait too long for my pick up. The wait is fun, there are lots of meme type signs to read, a stream of beautiful landscapes & photos of folks enjoying food on the TV, and always great music playing. I was lucky enough to receive a Mother's Day bag from Jayd Bun and it was such a wonderful experience! They were incredibly generous with the portions and even included beautiful flowers as a Mother's Day gift, which was such a thoughtful touch. The noodles had the perfect level of spice, and the peanut butter noodles were absolutely delicious. My daughter's favorite were the dumplings, and we both loved the buns! Jayd Bun was voted number 2 Chinese restaurant in the U.S. by Yelp, so I had to go check them out. I tried to go in the winter but the snow storm was bad and I had to cancel my order. I finally was able to go recently and the hype is real. It's best that you pre-order through email the day prior, the cut off time is 4pm. They are quick and responsive via email. It's a take-out only restaurant but they have a small patio with a few picnic tables. There are breweries nearby; The Whalers is right next door. I ordered a bunch of food to try with the family. 1. Spicy yo po noodles - tangy noodles with bok choy, love the flavor and the thick handmade noodles 2. Sweet chili chicken jin jin - spicy savory open ended dumplings, mouthwatering good 3. If worth the hype could be wrapped up in a meal...it would be this one. We emailed earlier in the week to make sure our order was in. We got a mix of buns, jin Jins, and noodles. Our friends picked it up for us and delivered it to CT and it was STILL WARM. THAT is how fresh we are talking here. There wasn't a bad bite to be had. The buns went soft with great filling. Unfortunately underwhelming. We ordered two of the Jayd Fusion and were told upon pickup they had run out. We'd even placed our order five days beforehand just in case. We get they disclaim that the order isn't guaranteed, but I don't necessarily understand the point in ordering ahead then. Also beware there is 3% credit card up charge, which does add up with the prices. The food itself was good. Nothing mindblowing, we got the Yopo, pancakes, pork buns, veggies buns, and peanut butter noodles. The yopo was probably the most unique. The peanut butter noodles lacked something, perhaps salt. I will say, the noodles are made in house and texturally are great. The scallion pancakes were tasty and unique, though not at all crispy, and we only got the one order out of the two we had requested (five days prior). The lady up front said they compensated for it and then threw in an extra item. After doing the math, they charged us pretty much what it would've been anyways, and there was no extra item lol. There is some outdoor seating. Inside has a few chairs to sit in while waiting for your order. There's also a wall of AI generated signs inside. I wish them the best, though do think they need to either restructure their system to meet current demand, or be more upfront about how the food you order might not get to you. It simply isn't fair to people traveling from states away, especially when you don't tell them until they are paying for their order at the counter. I hate this word, but i fear it couldn't meet the hype. Maybe it was just an off day. Regardless, if you live within 30 minutes, it's probably worth going. But I wouldn't recommend going too far out of your way. read more

What is this mystery bag business all about?! Well if you have been following Jayd Bun on social media one knows that when someone is unable to make it for their order the fun begins! A quick post to Facebook and boom, call to score a great free treat!! Snow days seem to generate the most action and boy you have to be quick! If you think getting through for a regular order is tough, well step up and accept the mystery bag call in experience!! Was able to score this sweet treat on a snowy cold evening! After a flurry of calls I was able to score a bag on the second round posted for the night. While some may say it is careless to drive in icy road conditions, I felt this one was worth it for calming my tastebuds down from their lack of Jayd Bun (it has been a bit since I have been in)! As always, the welcome is gracious, fun and friendly upon arrival and always good to hear and see the family at work. I didn't get a chance to catch a picture, but there was a chopstick snowman in progress with the little one! So finally! After seeing this on social media and reading raving reviews regarding how this place is the #2 Chinese Restaurant in the US, I finally bit the bullet and drove 45 minutes to try this award winning restaurant. And........ it did NOT disappoint! They say you need to email your order or however other ways but, I called and picked up an hour after I ordered. So yes, you can order ahead and pick up same day. Best to order on lunch because after 3pm they advise it gets busy and might not be able to accommodate. I came a little later than my pick up time but, the food was still warm. The buns were soft, juicy, chewy and so full of flavors, specially when you add their house sauce (soy). Perfection! The dumplings were delicious and they are bigger than regular store bought ones. The noodles were very tasty and just the right amount of spice. It was chewy and not dry. I definitely say, it is a MUST TRY! Though the drive is long, the food quality and quantity is worth it. I will definitely be going back for more! On Saturday's, Jayd Bun opens at 12pm so I called Jayd Bun at 12:00pm to preorder. I put in my order and I was given the pickup time of 1:45pm. When I arrived at 1:40pm, there were a lot of people in the small space waiting for their orders and people were dining outside. What a busy day for Jayd Bun!!! The staff member called my name stating that my order was ready and I paid for it. There is a surcharge for using credit cards. We brought our food over to Whalers Brewing Company and enjoyed it there with some drinks. We weren't the only ones that did that, I saw a few tables with Jayd Bun bags. It's great that there is a partnership. We ordered the Jayd Fusion ($14.88), Pork pan fried buns ($18.88), and Chicken pan fried buns ($18.88). We parked at Whalers, grabbed beers there, and then took the short walk over--something we noticed many other diners doing as well, which added to the communal vibe. This is truly handmade Chinese food, and you can tell immediately--from the textures to the flavors. The team was clearly working hard and running a tight operation. Our party of three shared everything: savory beef jin jins, chicken buns, ja jiang mian, and the hand-pulled noodles. Everything was well prepared, deeply flavorful, and very satisfying. We've been going to Jayd Bun for years--even though we live an hour away, it's absolutely worth the drive! As a Beijinger, I miss my mom's home cooking so much. The first time I tried Jayd Bun, I felt instant happiness--the flavors were exactly what I had been missing. Since discovering them, I don't have to cook just to get that authentic taste anymore. Every time we get takeout, we order enough for two or three meals. It makes life so much easier--not having to worry about cooking for my three little ones for the next couple of days is such a relief! This time I ordered the You Po noodles. Later that night, I added some bok choy and gave them a quick stir-fry in the pan... and it turned into another delicious meal! Honestly, you just have to try their food to understand how good it is. OK, as someone who lives in the NYC metro, I was intrigued by this #2 in the U.S. Chinese restaurant in Rhode Island (where I grew up). I called ahead and ordered for pickup. The pork buns were very good and juicy. I also got the spicy yo po noodles. They were good but absolutely could and should be spicier...guessing that's a RI palate thing. Now, have I had better Chinese in Chinatown or Queens? Yes, but for a random spot in Rhode Island, I was mucho impressed. I also loved the ambiance of the place as there was a man I could hear in the kitchen and he just sounded like a person who exudes joy. It's the love that goes into the food. :) I also like this video they were playing of spots in China. And the neon sign was also adorable. As for the service, I think that could be improved but not dinging them on that as clearly the girl at the counter was new. That said, she gave one older gentleman something for being a first time customer and I was thinking...so am I...which gave me a bit of side eye. I've been here before and I'll be here again. Call in your order, we called at 2pm on a Saturday and we're given a pickup window between 5:15-5:25pm. The spicy yo po noodle is my favorite dish from here, packed with flavor, not overly spicy, and even though the noodles were a little softer than I'd prefer (they steam themselves in the takeout container a bit), the flavor just can't be beat. Topped with Kimchi, baby bok choi, and plenty of chili oil, it's something you'll want to try. The buns are always fantastic. After having the chicken and the pork now, I prefer the pork. The chicken is good, I just think the filling is more plentiful and cohesive in the pork ones. Nonetheless, the buns were steamed and pan seared to finish perfectly. Crisp and crunchy bottom to contrast the rest of the pillowy bun. Lastly, the pork dumplings were fantastic- a new thing we tried this time. We had a little hiccup while ordering, the handheld are apparently not available until the fall/winter so we couldn't get those, I did wish the menu reflected this online before ordering. Either way, the dumplings were delicious. The dumpling skins had just the right amount of chew and the open style allowed them to caress a healthy dose of the soy vinegar that we got on the side. Loved them. I think the elephant in the room is Jayd bun is overwhelmingly busy right now. They're getting a lot of buzz on the socials and I'm here for it. My pickup window was 5:25 (latest) and we didn't get our food until 5:55. The pickup process is a little tough. You go in, give your name and they'll let you know you can sit on the patio and they'll call out for you.. Well, we sat on the patio and never heard anyone call for us. Our food had been sitting at the counter for 10 or so minutes which isn't a huge deal, but noodle dishes have a pretty tight window of enjoyment before they overcook themselves in their containers. I think a very low cost way that this could be solved for is a set of buzzers that you can use to let folks know their food is waiting at the counter. Right now, folks are crowding the door and unfortunately, if they hear a name called, the patrons crowding the door are not paying it forward and shouting it out to the patio. Buzzers, or an online queue system would be the end game, but that definitely comes with a bigger cost, I'd assume. Regardless, food is great, patience is a virtue, I'll be back again and I'm happy for Jayd huns recent surge of popularity and hope it continues on. I want that beef patty. read more

I saw a TikTok from a guy who visited here. He said that the buns were what you would imagine Po from Kung Fu Panda eating. That stuck with me and had me waiting 3+ hours to pick up my food. Jayd Bun... what an enigma. The first time I tried going to Jayd Bun we drove all the way out there to find a note on the door that they were closed that weekend. This inexplicable turn of events made me want to try this restaurant more. So when the stars finally aligned again, we ordered SO MUCH to make sure we could give it a fair assessment given the drive. It's very well prepared, homemade food. Some items, like the Jin Jin Dumplings, are standout dishes due to their taste. The staff is very nice and accommodating. However, I'm not sure how it's the #2 in the country. Hang Ah Tearoom in San Francisco has hands down the best dim sum and noodles... and I'm pretty sure they're handmade, just like their amazing chili oil. Tim Ho Wan's buns really are the best and live up to the hype. This is good food, but I can't say I would make a special trip for it unfortunately. read more

Very good. The chicken buns were outstanding and the pork Jin Jins were to die for. Fast service and very nice employees. We also had the chicken ginger soup and it had a tapioca type consistency and was super good. My wife thought it was a little spicy, but I devoured it lol. The only thing we didnt really enjoy much was the Ja Jen Men noodles. It had a very thick dark sauce and it was overpowering. We were also pretty full at that point, but it just didn't hit the spot. I would highly recommend and definitely return here. They also gave us a couple of coupons to use toward future orders as we were first time customers. I'm a little sad about our recent order, been here several times and the food is always fresh and hot and today the buns were not hot. I called a little after noon to order for lunch but they didn't have an available slot for our food until 7:35 pm, we got there a little before 7:30 and it was packaged ready to go which tells me it sat there for a good while. Not a fan of the cold peanut butter noodles but glad we finally were able to try them. If you like cold noodles and cold chicken, this is a perfect meal for you. Went here back in November with some friends...so a little late posting the review, but better late than never. Got the Spicy Yo Po which was definitely spicy, but noodles were very good. You can tell they're made different than other asian places that offer noodles. Also I either got 3 pork buns and 3 veggie buns, or all veggie buns (picture I'm adding seems to show a mix of them, but I know that you're not allowed to mix and match usually so not sure how I ended up with 3 of each kind unless I traded with my friend). Either way, they were very good and probably the best buns I've had! Very juicy which is rare to come across. I'd definitely come back more often in the future if it wasn't so far from me, but if I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to visit. Cashier was very nice as well. read more
