Northern -style Chinese food. It's ALL delicious and neatly presented. Not your standard fast food so ORDER IN ADVANCE. Give yourself an extra day advance if you're ordering dinner, especially on a weekend! It's great that they have outdoor seating with picnic tables. There's a nice variety of Asian canned beverages for purchase. There's limited parking. Love that it's located next to the rail trail because then you can bike or walk off your meal. I recommend you get one of their housemade noodle dishes & pan-fried buns. This should definitely feed 2 hungry adults and you may have leftovers to bring home. If a dish notes it's spicy, believe it - they're SPICY! Peanut noodles are so flavorful. Lamb pan-fried dumplings pack quite the HEAT . This family-run business has been doing a great job and I'm so glad they're still going strong. Please have patience since your food is made-to-order so it's fresh and worth the wait. The owners do their best to get your food to you at the requested time but sometimes they're short/staffed, last minute.

After reading about the #2 Chinese in Country 2025 Yelp Award, how could we not order from here since we were vacationing only a few miles away. We looked forward to having a unique experience eating authentic Chinese food. No sesame Chicken or Crab Rangoons on their menu! Ordering process is clearly outlined. I liked ordering by email one day ahead (1-5 days) and receiving confirmation night before that my order would be filled at requested day/time. I was told the Chef's Congee (family recipe full of ginger) was not a summer offering and asked if I wanted to substitute another item. I did add to order. Order: Wonton Soup with Noodles Pork Buns Yo Po Noodles (NO EGG) Jin Jin Chicken Favorite: The Yo Po Noodles had a unique flavor profile - spicy and addictive. Sauce was amazing. The house made noodles were reheated the next day with no effect on texture. If we had ordered the fried egg on top, it would have been heart shaped. Sweet. We enjoyed the Jin Jin's that were like small tortillas filled with spicy chicken bits. The pan fried Pork Buns contained a flavorful pork mixture that melted in your mouth. The dough tasted as if it was raised because it has a soft chew. Wonton Soup had a mild flavor, lots of egg bits and thin noodles that broke apart. I would not order it again. Service was welcoming and efficient.

If you know, you know Jayd Bun is the kind of place that reminds you why South Kingstown's food scene punches way above its weight. With a 4.8 rating and over 1,000 glowing Google reviews, this spot isn't just popular--it's beloved. And after one visit, it's easy to see why. Let's get right to the headline: the buns are extraordinary. Soft, warm, and impossibly pillowy, they have that perfect balance of airy lightness and subtle chew that only happens when someone truly respects their dough. Every bun feels crafted, not produced--like it was made for you. The fillings? Bold, fresh, and deeply satisfying. Whether you go classic or adventurous, each bite delivers layers of flavor that unfold beautifully. Google reviewers rave about the consistency and quality, and they're absolutely right--every bun tastes like the kitchen is operating at its A‑game, every single day. Service is another standout. Friendly and genuinely welcoming, the team here treats you like a regular even if it's your first time. The space is clean, bright, and easy to navigate, making it perfect for a quick lunch, a comfort‑food fix, or a grab‑and‑go treat that somehow feels indulgent and wholesome at the same time. Prices are fair for the quality, portions are generous without being heavy, and the overall experience is the kind that makes you say, "Yep, I'm coming back." Jayd Bun isn't just a great local spot--it's a must‑visit. If you're anywhere near South Kingstown, do yourself a favor and get a bun (or three). They're worth every bit of the hype. Enjoy

This spot was sooo good! I'm not from this side of town, so making the drive over was definitely worth it. It's also not far from the beach, making it a great place to grab a bite before or after a beach day. They have an outdoor patio where you can enjoy the weather while you eat. If you're just picking up your order, you can head inside, but there isn't indoor seating. I ordered the veggie dumplings and the spicy Yo Po noodles, and YES they were absolutely amazing when they came out hot and fresh! I always appreciate restaurants that offer delicious vegetarian options, and this place definitely did not disappoint. One thing to know is that you'll need to email your order in advance, but they were incredibly responsive and got back to me quickly, so the process was easy. I'm assuming it's a family-run establishment, and the young helper (who I think may have been their daughter) was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Parking was easy the day I went, with enough street parking available. Would I come back? Absolutely! I can't wait to come back and try a different noodle dish.

Very interesting, popular Authentic Chinese Take Out Restaurant nestled in the heart of Kingstown, RI small shops on Route 108. WARNING !!! You need to order your food 1 to 5 days in advance !! Yes, they really are that busy and the food really is that level of FRESH !!! if you don't order ahead, then you must be prepared for a REALLY LONG WAIT !! Please read the signs in all photos

Jayd Bun was voted number 2 Chinese restaurant in the U.S. by Yelp, so I had to go check them out. I tried to go in the winter but the snow storm was bad and I had to cancel my order. I finally was able to go recently and the hype is real. It's best that you pre-order through email the day prior, the cut off time is 4pm. They are quick and responsive via email. It's a take-out only restaurant but they have a small patio with a few picnic tables. There are breweries nearby; The Whalers is right next door. I ordered a bunch of food to try with the family. 1. Spicy yo po noodles - tangy noodles with bok choy, love the flavor and the thick handmade noodles 2. Sweet chili chicken jin jin - spicy savory open ended dumplings, mouthwatering good 3. Pork buns - delicious, fresh, and love the sauce it came with. 4. Ja Jen Men noodles - love that savory sweet sauce 5. Spicy wontons - filled with pork and spicy sauce, huge fan All were so good, my husband and I agree, best Chinese food we've ever had. We drove 2 hours from CT, he said if we lived closer we would be there all the time lol; bad for our waist and wallets lmao. Definitely worth a visit!!!

Took the hour & a half trek down to JAYD BUN in South Kingstown, RI for some buns & noods Placed our order two days in advance & damn, it was worth every mile. We were greeted with smiling faces at pickup plus a visit from the one & only Chef Joe, who even tossed in a couple magic tricks for extra flavor We also bumped into the Fresh Prince of Rhode Island Amir Henley while we were there We loaded up on buns, beef jin jins, ja jen noodles, peanut noodles, & the spicy yo po. Every dish was made fresh to order. The noodles were cooked perfectly & coated in rich house made sauces, while the buns & jin jins were bursting with flavor in every bite. This place absolutely kills it every single time & it's easy to see why they've won so many awards. The hard work, passion, & love they put into the food shines through in every dish Thank you Chef Joe, Chef Annie, & crew #RhodeIslandEats #FoodieFinds #AsianFoodLover #SupportLocalRestaurants #Foodstagram

You have to order ahead and they say that nowhere on the site. We made a trip to come here and they said the next time to pick up is 2 hours later The lady at the front was also super rude and was argumentative after I showed her the website and menu which no language that you HAD to order ahead or that the wait was so long. Overall, I wouldn't come to this place. It's sort of in the middle of nowhere. And the inside of the restaurant is a bit dirty, dimly lit, and was claustrophobic. If I were to provide one piece of advice, it would be to update the website to warn people that the wait can extend to two hours and that they HAVE to call or order ahead of time The restaurant itself seemed a bit dirty - I'd double check the health department score to see if you actually want to order at this restaurant Update: After harassing me and repeated personal insults (both publicly and privately), Yelp has removed the owner's comment on my review and they have edited it to sound much more civil. But don't let this fool you - the owner is incredibly unprofessional and called me a "clown", "entitled child". You decide if this is an establishment and person you want to support

If worth the hype could be wrapped up in a meal...it would be this one. We emailed earlier in the week to make sure our order was in. We got a mix of buns, jin Jins, and noodles. Our friends picked it up for us and delivered it to CT and it was STILL WARM. THAT is how fresh we are talking here. There wasn't a bad bite to be had. The buns went soft with great filling. The dumplings had a lot of flavor and were so balanced. The noodles had a great texture. My husband was all about that sauce and I'm now so focused on going back for the spicy noodles. We can't wait to go back.

Pan fried dumplings, cold peanut noodles, lamb dumplings, pork dumplings, and two kinds of hand pulled noodles.

Worth the 90 min. trip! We heard so much about this place. We ordered our food in advance, it was ready when we got there. It was nice they had tables outside to enjoy our meal. Owned by the nicest and personable couple, too! There were 5 of us drove down from Boston. The food was delicious. Definitely not lacking in flavor. Their handmade noodles and dumplings were amazing. We all said we would go again. RI is lucky to have Jayd Bun!

I am lucky to have this gem of a place right in my neighborhood. The food is amazing. There is a parking lot connected but if filled there is another free lot across the street not far. So parking plentiful. You do need to order a few days in advance since everything is made from scratch. I emailed order and when coming. It was very easy process. There is no inside seating but they have a great outside patio that we have eaten at several times. You can also take your food to eat at Whalers Brewing, Sons of Liberty or Tower Hill Brewing. So lots of options all close. We have been to them all and all great. I love their buns. I also love the spicy yopa noodles with fried egg. It is so good. My husband loves their spicy wontons which I agree. He loves the sauce it is made with. He also got the jayd noodle which is a cold noodle which was good. They have excellent wonton soup too. The food is unlike anything I ever have that I love exploring the menu. We have never had a bad meal here. Inside is decorated with all their awards which are well deserved. The staff is so nice. I also like by checkout they have plates, silverware, napkins to have if eaten at other establishments mentioned. They think of everything. Joe and Annie care so much about their food and it shows. I also love how much they care about the community too. When they have a break you always see them supporting other places and posting about them on social media along with their own. They are so genuine which is even another reason I love to go here.

    Spicy yo-po
    Skull man

Personally, it was not for me. I was not a fan of the taste of the food. It was a cool experience but I only really liked the spicy yopo a little bit. The rest of my family really enjoyed themselves but I just did not like it as much as I thought I would. A really nice little place, but I just was not a big fan of it. No offense at ALL to anyone who sees this review that likes the place, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just wasn't for me Edit: I made my review 2 stars instead since my family did like the food more than I did, not trying to be rude to the workers of jayd bun, just giving what I feel is an honest review

Food was absolutely incredible and so fresh!!! Definitely will be going back for more!

Are there tables or is it just takeout?

We are takeout only. We have tables outside always above on nice days to enjoy our food. We always tell everyone to take or food next door to whalers brewing and tell them we sent you. Food & dogs are welcome there

Most items on the menu are in the $12-14 range, are they entree sized? Would say the october noodle and pan fried buns be enough for 2?

Most people can only eat 3-4 buns and they are stuffed! Some can eat more or less. So I would say it’s enough for 2 unless you want to have plenty of leftovers! I highly recommend the JAYD fusion of you haven’t had it and it’s a great appetizer as…

Are there any gluten free options?

Unfortunately everything has gluten. Our tomato soup however without the noodles is probably the best tomato soup you will ever have. So you can’t go wrong with that option.

Scallops were good but pairings sauce and salad in the middle was ok. Garlic noodle was okay as well. Bit strong on the soy sauce but needed a bit more depth of flavor or sweetness. Sushi was good. I personally liked the eel roll. Service was good and waitress was attentive. Overall it's a solid asian restaurant offering decent sushi and asian food in the area. However it's not unique since they don't offer m anything that is significantly different from other asian restaurants. As my personal rule, I never tip before finishing my meal. I ordered the house ramen and a mapo mushroom omusubi. I like how the ramen uses local veggies. The pork was fine, but I didn't like its somewhat dry texture. The broth was a bit too strong and/or salty for my liking, but I don't hold that against it--it reminds me of ramen I've had in Japan, which is a positive if you're looking for something more authentic. (However, I am finding that a lot of ramen just isn't for me!) I got the mapo mushroom onigiri for takeout. I liked it! It's a little spicy and quite flavorful, pairing with the rice well. My friend ordered the chicken parm grinder which looked incredible and disappeared quickly. I was so full and enjoyed my delicious cocktail while my friend ordered the chocolate chip banana foster (with 2 spoons). I honestly could have drank the banana rum ice cream sauce. Thank you for a great meal and experience. I totally understand all the fabulous reviews now. I might just be back tomorrow.

Celestial cafe offers a fun and creative menu. The space is a mix of modern with some dark wood and…read moreother paint color style. Staff were friendly in the sense of giving service to ones neighbor, as it feels like the high end local spot. Food was definitely creative. Listed as "new American" but had a strong showing of Asian fusion. Food was good but can be considered salty for some. The smoked pork noodles was heavy and had a high level of spice in part of the dish, would recommend to mix it well to evenly distribute. The eclipse had a lot going on, with some ingredients getting lost in the shuffle, but did overall enjoy it.
