I ordered from here probably once a week. Their PHO is so good sometimes I just get the broth and noodles. The curry is always fresh and delicious. I don't like certain vegetables and they always listen when I request they don't be added to the vegetables in my order. The place itself is very small i don't usually see many people dining in but the food is well worth the pick up. Staff is always so kind and quick. This was my first time trying this place and I ordered delivery. The dumplings were very good, very flavorful. The shrimp nime chow was disappointing though. It was wrapped well and stayed together, so that was definitely a plus. However, I was not a fan of the excessive amount of lettuce and the large cucumber strip. I would much rather have less of those and more noodles and bean sprouts. The coconut rice was ok. Nothing spectacular. I ordered a side of the hot oil. It was hot but the flavor wasn't there. I would order the dumplings again and would like to try a few other things before making a final decision on this place. It could have potential that I just haven't tasted yet. Pad Thai with shrimp was amazing! Drunken flat noodles with crispy shrimp was a 9 1/2 (10 being the best). Had their basil rice last month and the rice was a little spicy but great. Glad this place is in Wakefield. read more

This place is tiny and clean. We went here because I saw the boba sign in front and wanted to try something new in Wakefield. I ordered Mango Curry with the chicken option and satay chicken. It was delicious and curiously the sour unripe mangos added to the dish. My daughter ordered the Emerald Plate. She also ordered a strawberry boba which tasted like strawberry yoohoo lol! As we were eating a kid on a skateboard came in and asked how much a boba tea was. He didn't have enough and said so and turned to go. The lady at the register told him she would get it for him. He seemed embarrassed but eventually accepted. I include that only because it's a small thing but shows the generosity of this woman who was server and register. First Meal Review ** Takeaway/Takout First let me say that the staff was VERY friendly both when I ordered over the phone and arrival. The place was super clean and my order was ready for contactless pick-up. That being said this was not my favorite Thai meal locally. We ordered three lunch combos which came with an appetizer, soup/salad, and lunch portion entree...so a great value at $10 each meal! But... the chicken on all three meals was so not good. The chicken satay had great flavor but was tough. The fresh spring roll was indeed fresh but the sauce lacked any flavor or basil so basically lettuce and rice paper. The salad was fresh and great dressing. The tom kah soup was smooth, tangy and flavorful as it should be. The mango curry was flavorful but those veggies were chopped huge and again the chicken was tough. The hot basil stir fry had the same chicken issue and the sauce was very thin and overwhelming. The pad thai was super sweet and the noodles stuck together in big clumps. Maybe it deserves another review at dinner... we will see... read more

Nim Chow was disappointing , flavorless and sticky. There was no basil, cilantro or sprouts. Basically it was lettuce , dry carrots , shrimp and sticky wrap. Mango curry -- the sauce was very good but the dish was lacking chicken ( 3 pieces) or mango . It was mostly onions and sauce. read more

There is a lot of competition in Wakefield, since there are more than a handful of Thai restaurants, but Boss Thai takes the cake. It is consistently our go-to for takeout (and dine-in, pre-Covid). Their ingredients are extremely fresh and the sauces are well done -- never overly sugary, syrupy, or cloying. You may be tempted to go everyone's fan favorite, Pad Thai, but I urge you to try some of their other dishes that are even better: drunken noodles are my top choice along with the Pad See Ew. You cannot go wrong with any of the Chef's Specialties, specifically the lemongrass shrimp or the crispy shrimp volcano. The nime chow, pork dumplings, and chicken satay are also excellent. Received an order tonight. I was supposed to receive fried rice with chicken, no spice and received hot basil. Fried fried rice very spicy was told I would receive a phone call back when I complain that I got the wrong meal and still haven't received the phone call back very disappointing. read more

Very disappointed in my order. There was some onions 3 cherry tomatoes and some pineapple with 6 soggy shrimp. They were deep fried and covered with sauce. All 3 of our dishes were a disappointment. read more

So much potential, but so bad. We were staying at an Airbnb around the area and ordered take out. Watery, very little flavor. We ordered Thom Ka watery, thin, no lime leaf, ginger freshness, no coconut at all. The worst, thinnest Massamam curry ever. Huge chunks of undercooked sweet potato and tough big chunks of beef??? Seriously? The green beans with garlic were delicious, tasted more Chinese than Thai, spring rolls were okay, chicken wings though were outstanding we ordered everything extra extra spicy and it was so not spicy. Excellent Thai food. We have several to choose from here in SK and they are all very good. Boss is prepared the fastest and is always piping hot. The food is very flavorful and the portions are generous. My favorites are the steamed dumplings and Shrimp Pad Thai. Have never eaten in the restaurant only through DoorDash. read more

The Boss is a newly opened Thai & Asian fusion restaurant. This location is small, but they have a pleasant atmosphere and offer additional seating outdoors. The menu has options from vegan, seafood, chicken, duck and many more. The staff is incredible. Very attentive and friendly. Now on to the food. Amazing, fresh and the chef's attention to detail is clearly a labor of love. Little things, like my jasmine rice in a heart shape, shows the chef loves and respects food. My first visit I enjoyed the yellow curry chicken & jasmine rice lunch with chicken satay appetizer. So, it's a little hole on the wall BUT serves up an enjoyable meal with personality. The lunch combo with spring rolls, tomyum soup and hot basil entree with shrimp. The whole thing was around $11 and so tasty. Yes, the soup was little different than usual tomyums, but in a good way. If you want spice and heat, I recommend asking for the chili oil. The chili sauce is not spicy enough but the oil makes all the difference. Even got myself some food to go. Tasty!!! read more

Solid Thai place. Curry puffs were huge with homemade flaky crust. Husband and wife team running the place. He's the chef she runs the dining room. Place is small but don't let that deter you. The food was great! My friends and I placed our orders online which was easy to do. I got the Drunken Noodles with ground chicken, Crispy Spring Rolls, and a Brown Sugar Milk Bubble Tea. Pick-up time was quick, about 25 minutes after we ordered, and the staff was nice when we got our food. Interior was small but clean and super cute; looking forward to dining inside in the future! Portions are great for the price. Crispy spring rolls we're flavorful, and the sweet chili sauce with it was yummy! The drunken noodles were also great, although I wish I ordered level 2 spice instead of level 1 (level 1 had a pleasant spice, but personally I wanted more of a kick). Boba drink was good. Lots of different flavor options for the base of the drink, and can also choose from 4 different toppings; comes in two sizes. It was a good experience, I have leftovers to enjoy later. This is our new "go to" spot for Thai food. We are lucky in Wakefield that we have 4 Thai restaurants. The 2 in town really suck. Tong D in the commons is good but pricey. The Boss1 is a very small family run restaurant next to the subway shop and CVS. It has a huge menu and is BYOB. The pork dumplings were huge and had a great taste. The curry puffs were also excellent. I ordered the squid salad extra spicy and it damn near killed me. next time it will be medium. For dinner I had the Panang curry and my daughter had the hot basil. Again both were excellent. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

The Boss 1 is tucked in between a Subway and an appliance store. The interior is small but nice- other than the temperature, which varied wildly from hot to cold during the hour we were there. We started with the shrimp and broccoli tempura and the fresh roll with chicken. Both were tasty and presented nicely, but the fresh roll was particularly great. We had two entrees -the chicken / cashew special was clean and tasty. - the wonton soup was perfectly cooked with crisp veggies At the end of our meal w e were presented with a dessert on the house - some kind of honey banana sesame fried thing? We went late just before the lunch specials ended and sat outside. Service was very good and all food arrived in order and with no long waits. The fresh rolls were excellent with all fresh vegetables (meatless) and a tangy vinaigrette. My wife's chicken satay was good she said although maybe a little dry looking. Her Tom Yum was very good she said. My chicken ginger soup was too salty so I only ate about half but the ingredients were very good. My Cashew chicken stir fry was 4 stars spicy as requested. All ingredients were fresh and delicious. Portions are fine for lunch but if you've skipped breakfast you should probably get the full order. I would definitely go back but I would try something different. A nice new addition to the area. read more

The Boss was excellent! My family and I decided to do an Asian dinner for Christmas, so we went with a Chinese restaurant in NK and The Boss. I wish we just ordered from The Boss. Their food is fresh, not greasy and so yummy. We ordered the coconut rice, fried pad thai and sweet potato tempura....the only complaint was our decision not to order more food from The Boss. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the online ordering is super fast and easy. I live in the northern part of RI but we have plans to go for take out on Sunday to get our weekly Boss provisions. read more

I've eaten at this restaurant twice already, and it has only been open for one week. The food is fresh, and the Thai food is authentic. The best deal is the luncheon special, which comes with soup, an appetizer, and an entree. I've had the iced Thai tea, the Tom Yum soup, the spring rolls, the Nime Chow (fresh roll), and the Chicken Basil Pad Thai. Lunch cost me approximately $10. The portion is generous, and the restaurant has comfortable seating. If you eat in, expect a cloth napkin rolled in a decorative napkin holder and lovely dishes. Hadn't been here for a year and looked to give another try. My wife commented unsolicited that her cashew chicken was really good. Her previous try with the cashew chicken had no cashews but this was spot on. I had the pad Thai and it was delicious and tasted fresh with a nice size portion of chicken.
