Amazing. Their food is high quality, priced right, and so tasty. It also does not taste as processed as other Asian food we have had and we do not get that yucky feeling after. You have to try their sesame chicken, chicken teriyaki, and chicken katsu. The portions are great and we get a weekly craving for sugarcane now. The portions were quite large for lunch and lower priced than dinner. Service was attentive. I miss a couple of the menu items that the previous owners had like the roti appetizer and mango fried rice with dried cranberries and cashews but the new owners are doing a phenomenal job and I highly recommend. Try the Northern Pad Thai for something sweet with heat. If you dine in, the presentation is very appealing and they play pleasant music which enhances the already peaceful atmosphere. Korean in name only. I was tempted to give 2 stars for the false advertising on the Korean... the dish was more like pepper steak. It was shredded carrots, onions and shredded beef. It was served with freshly steamed baby asparagus, broccoli and carrots. The veggies were all seasoned and lightly buttered. Would I come here again? 5+ stars. Trust me when I say GO! to Sugar Cane! The food is amazing. It's incredibly fresh. It's perfectly crafted, authentic and delicious. The meats are perfectly cooked and everything is so tender and juicy. The portions are generous and their passion for food is obvious in their attention to detail in the recipes. The new owners took over around Christmas 2020. This alone intrigues a person who really enjoys Thai food. Starting a restaurant during a pandemic can't be easy. (I think I'd rather try to staple jello to a tree.) The atmosphere is friendly, inviting and clean. The staff greets you warmly and are attentive throughout your meal. It's truly a family owned and operated establishment. When you're there they treat you like extended family. Once we found this gem and frequented a few times the owners knew our dining preferences and greeted us by name. It's such a simple gesture but so thoughtful. I'll mention here I have been loyal to a fault to "other" spots. And I still give them respect for the Infusion standards they set in Bwater, but after visiting Sugar Cane several times I realize the other spots have become complacent and strayed from to their roots. Sugar Cane has earned their standing as the new best of the rest. Please check it out. You will be very thankful you did. The only downside is they're now closed on Tuesdays. Hardly any breading and nicely done. Shumai was also a standout. For the main deal I went with the Gra Bow. Plenty of seafood and lightly spicy. If you like thinks kicked up, you'll need to ask them to add it. Overall a solid dish. I would say that the service could have been better.
