Stone pot bibimbap with beef
Nicole R.

All the great Korean restaurants I've visited have been in inconspicuous locations in strip malls and From the Seoul is no exception. I visited with a friend for lunch and enjoyed everything I had. We shared some steamed vegetable mandu which was tasty. I ordered the stone pot bibibamp with beef. The vegetables were fresh and the beef was tender. I could have used more gochujang but I still enjoyed my meal. I also had a plumcha which was sweet and refreshing. I loved all the banchan that came with the food. Service was attentive. I enjoyed watching the K-pop videos playing on TV. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Stopped here for lunch after a day in New Bedford after seeing so many great reviews. We were definitely not disappointed! When you walk into the restaurant, you will first see the largest pothos plant that could possibly live indoors. Then you'll notice the K-pop music video adding some upbeat music to the space. Even with the music, the space was pretty quite and it was easy to have a conversation. The food was excellent! We got two Korean drinks - plumcha and sikhye, which were very refreshing. I got jap chae with beef, which was a savory delight! My friend got sandubu and loved it! It was definitely spicy but in a way that makes you want to keep eating. The small side plates of potato salad, kim chi, picked, broccoli, and tasty fish were a much appreciated complimentary addition!

What a great place this! Family run and authentic! Our waitress Victoria was so very helpful and friendly. Food was fresh and flavorful and not too spicy.

So happy to have found a Korean spot in the south coast region. The offering in the menu are plentiful and tasty. They also have some lovely drinks that use authentic soju. Service is excellent every one is attentive as well a welcoming, it's a chill and down to earth atmosphere. Will be coming back very soon.

Bulgogi (beef) lunch plate

I ordered the Bulgogi (Beef) lunch special. The portion was huge. I gave it 4 stars because I wished it was more seasoned. If you pay with cash, you can select a free snack. I chose seaweed to wrap rice in. The place is clean and spacious. Owner was friendly and attended to his customers. I will definitely be back and try the kalbi.

A meal at From the Seoul feels like a welcome home. I've ordered the manduguk (dumpling soup) numerous times, and everytime, it feels like my inner child is indulging. Great service from a welcoming staff, food served hot, and in decent sized servings. This is a favorite of mine, and my best friend and I visit every time we chose to eat out.

High quality, authentic Korean food on the Southcoast. Try it once, and you'll fall in love

Beef and pork bulgogi lunch boxes

Great lunch deals -- pork bulgogi and beef bulgogi lunch boxes for $7-8. Includes rice, a generous portion of meat, salad, kimchi, and tempura vegetables. Would definitely go back. To note: the ambience is very interesting since they have K-Pop music videos playing on TVs in there. Doesn't look like much from the outside either (strip mall), but the lunch boxes are worth it!

We should've taken a pic before we consumed half the meal

Is this a good place for vegetarians?

Most of the dishes offered here contain vegetables. Examples of dishes you could order would be Bibimbap, Ramyun Noodles, Chap Jae, Kimchi Jiggae(no pork) to name some. Additionally in some dishes you can substitute meat for Tofu.

As you walk in, the place was already buzzing at 5 pm on Sunday. The place has a sort of gaming arcade feel to it. Very bright with lots of LED lights and tacky signs. Not a fan, but can appeal to a family with kids. I have had hot pot and Korean and Japanese BBQ before. This place, I thought, was OK, not amazing in terms of food quality. If you have hungry teenage boys, this place is awesome. We opted to have both BBQ and hotpot, it was additional $5 per person. Because this place has two hour dining time limit, but you can ear all you want, they serve a lot of frozen and prepared meats and veggies for the grille or the hot pot. Similar formula for a volume restaurant, but I have had better quality elsewhere. The service was efficient and speedy. You order your food via touch pad tablet. The raw food comes out within minutes for you to cook. At $38 per person, plus your drinks, it can get pricy but everyone goes home stuffed. In the end, it is about $55 to $60 per person with tips.

There was a strong Korean presence, which always feels like a good sign when you're looking for something authentic and a bit outside the norm. I was especially excited to try gopchang (grilled intestines), and it ended up being both new and oddly familiar. The texture is definitely different, but not off-putting at all. When you think about it, sausage comes from similar ingredients, so it's not as foreign as it might sound. Having had sweetbreads and offals before, some of the flavor notes felt recognizable, which made it easier to appreciate. Other items, like the thin-sliced brisket, were more familiar and just as enjoyable. Everything we had was fresh and well-prepared. The space itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, with K-pop videos playing and a solid selection of Korean drinks like soju and Milkis to round things out. The side dishes were creative and accessible, including corn cheese, steamed eggs, house salad, and japchae noodles. The egg fried rice was excellent as well, and a great complement to the meats. Our group ranged from adventurous to more cautious eaters, and everyone genuinely enjoyed the experience. Cooking at the table took a minute to get used to, but it was part of the fun and easy to pick up. Service was friendly and helpful throughout. The ventilation was very good and not overly smoky, which can sometimes be an issue at Korean BBQ spots. It is a bit on the pricier side, but for a special occasion or a night out to try something new, it felt justified. This works well either as a fun date night or with a small group so you can try a variety of dishes. Even dessert was a highlight, creative and well executed. This is the kind of place that feels like a special night out, and we would absolutely go back.

The food here is on par with the spots in Allston, and the portions are huge. The steamed egg was really well done and seasoned perfectly. The tangsuyuk came out hot and very crispy, though I felt the sauce was a bit too sour and could have used more depth of flavor. The budae jjigae is listed as serving size for two, but it easily could have fed four people. I appreciated the generous amount of pork belly, spam, and sausage along with the vegetables. A lot of places tend to skimp on the meat and overload the veggies. I would definitely come back when I'm craving Korean food. I went on a Friday night and it was not too busy.

Living on the South Shore means Korean food options are limited, so when personal errands brought me to Stoughton, this immediately went to the top of my list. The jajangmyeon lived up to the hype. Springy wheat noodles with a deeply flavorful black bean sauce that hit the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Comfort food with real depth. I also enjoyed my steamed pork dumplings along with the banchan which included standards like kimchi along spicy radish and pickled daikon, which was an absolute revelation! Sign me up for more of that. The restaurant crowd was primarily locals, and there was a constant stream of takeout orders, which says a lot about how well-loved this place is. The space itself is nice and welcoming, although the area near the host stand and toward the open kitchen is a little cluttered during peak times. I'm guessing they don't have a lot of storage in back. If you have been curious about jajangmyeon, or if you are craving Korean food south of Boston, this is absolutely worth the trip.

My friend asked for a cosmo (even though it's not on the menu), and they still made it for her, which we really appreciated. For food, the mala clams were a standout. The sauce was incredible -- the perfect level of spice with that signature numbing kick. Definitely one of my favorite dishes there.
