I was finally able to revisit this place after ~8 years and I'm happy to report that the quality is just as good as I remember! Items we tried as of 10/2024: - Garlic Beef Crispy Noodle - $12.95 (lunch portion) - Beef was extremely tender and juicy! The crispy noodles combined with the gravy sauce was a stellar combination! Couldn't really taste the garlic but the dish itself was excellent. - Hong Kong Stir Fried Beef Noodle - $13.95 (Lunch portion) - Another fantastic dish. My family was passing through from out of town and read some good reviews, so we decided to stop at Crystal's for dinner. It was 8:50 PM and the website said they were open until 9:30, we should've had plenty of time. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked through the door, we were told that the kitchen would be closing at 9:00, and it was only takeout until 930. The woman who greeted us asked if we were having takeout, we said no, so she said we would only have 10 minutes to eat before we would have to leave. She was not friendly, so we left. Based on many previous Yelpers, I decided on takeout at Crystal's tonight. It's a small place, but it was hopping when I arrived around 4:30 pm. My order was ready and I was cheerfully greeted and cashed out. From their website pics, I wanted to try the ribs and fingers appetizer combo and the Mongolian beef. I definitely need to come back and eat IN the restaurant. The ribs and fingers didn't look terribly appetizing in the to-go container, but the fingers were deliciously tender and crispy. Eating in would have yielded a better presentation. Maybe I'm not a big fan of Korean ribs. Flavorful, but too thin for me--texture not appealing. But I'm glad I tried them. I have only been here once, and had the pad Thai. I wasn't very impressed with it, as it was too sweet tasting for me. However, they have a very extensive menu, so I wouldn't rule out another visit. While waiting for your good you can watch the tv monitors show their complete dishes and when it arrived it looked just like I hoped! So well presented and taste made the experience amazing! Ok , I had heard all kinds of yummy conversations on Crystals Kitchen so I was ready for a Culinary experience, however I was not inspired by my meal. I'll be honest I'm spoiled by quality Thai food on the west coast so my expectations are high. We ordered 4 different items and all suffered from same thing and that was lack of taste. Normally Thai spices offer a very robust taste but everything from the soup to main dishes was blahhh. Even the sushi was weak sauce. Hell I even used a sauce to try and induce flavor explosion but nothing. I thought my tongue took the day off from tasting but I was wrong cause I tasted my dinner that night. Crystal's is just a Take-Out place for middle of the road Asian food, and is a terrible experience for in-door dining. We visited on a recent cold winter Saturday evening around 6 pm, and we were surprised their were no diners in the dining room - only a waitress sitting at a table watching her cell phone Tic Toc videos and a waiter listening to something on his earbuds. The waiter, while still wearing & listening to his earbuds sat us at a table and quickly took our order. He seemed annoyed that we interrupted his listening and more annoyed that we later asked for soy sauce. Meanwhile, take-out customers infrequently came in to pick up food orders. Every time someone came in the door, the door slams loudly with a "BANG" because Crystal's does not bother to put a door damper on the door hinge. This made for a very unpleasant dining experience. But even worse, is that the door slamming causes a rush of cold air to fill the small dining area. Crystals has hung some old dirt curtains around the entrance door frame in a cheap attempt to stop the cold air rush, but it does not work. Sadly, the food is only "meh" and is no comparison to other Asian food restaurants that will serve good food with a good dining experience. read more

Discovered this hidden gem located about 20 minutes away from my house and boy oh boy was it worth the drive. Every.single.dish.was.oustanding. I've been to Malaysia and they nailed a lot of the intricate spices and flavors from that cuisine while also providing tasty Thai and Asian dishes. Some are pretty unique but all are authentic. The staff is great, the menu extensive. Cannot recommend this place enough. read more

Let me start by saying, I don't know how this place hasn't been on Phantom Gourmet or DDD yet. In a way I'm glad because this hidden gem is a true treasure. We were driving but Brockton and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. Amongst the many lists of places to eat on google I stumbled on to Crystals kitchen. Reviews were all great, after a quick glimpse at the menu, we decided to give it a go. A quick detour off Rt24 we pulled up to a quaint plaza where Crystals is located. The immense menu is full of original fusions ranging from authentic Thai, original takes on classics and fresh made to order sushi. We were starving from a 40 min drive to our original destination. So we ordered the raves about "crazy Roll. OMG! This thing is massive. Their fusion of classic nim chow fresh Thai roll, dipped into tempura batter and flash fried. These beasts were the size of burritos and you get 3 cut into half. The super freshness you get from Thai rolls( fresh mint, vermicelli , shrimp, basil ect) was extremely refreshing while encased imma super crispy, light crunch on outside. These are a meal on there own. Yes we knew when these came to the table we were in trouble with over ordering. In the end it was great to have some of our entrees as left overs for dinner. I had also ordered the Tom yum soup app size with chicken. And another instant hit! Jam packed with chicken, veg and the broth. For the love Thai!!!! The broth! Now for our entrees. I got the drunkin noodles extra spicy. It was loaded with meat, vegetables and noodles. The flavor was intoxicating. And spicy was perfect for me. Being a chili head ,I absolutely love spicy and flavorful that food. My wife got the penang curry. She likes spicy but not to the level I do. Hers was labeled at 1 but it was at my level of spice. The flavors were superb. Slight nuances of lime, basil and other exotic spices perfectly blended with coconut milk with a kick at the back of your palette. I got a Thai iced tea as well. Here's the kicker, Everything we ate and took home came to $44. That's it!!! All in all, this place is amazing. We were fans of another local that place but after today. This will be our replacement. I can't state enough that this place is " A PLACE WORTH DRIVING TO" I'd drive over two hours for the quality of food and friendliness of the white stuff anytime. Had the chicken with broccoli. Asked for spice level two out of five. It was very spicy. Nose running spicy. They charge you for each soft drink. So no free refills on Coke. I had the white rice. I asked if it was jasmine rice. She said yes. It was not. Had the fried spring rolls at the beginning. Good enough, not great. And fried. How about steamed? (She tried to upsell me the pork dumplings, which looked straight off the No. 1 Chinese menu.) I wish places like this stuck with their country style of food. Only Thai or only Malaysian. Instead, there is Chinese and Japanese options. Too many choices. Places like this struggle to have great quality food because they try to be all things to all people. When you live in NYC, you get spoiled for all the food options that this wonderful city provides. You really feel it when you go out of the town, to more suburban area. When we were traveling through Massachusetts a couple of months ago, we were looking for Thai food. After some searches, we found this restaurant that came with high rating. Now, it says "Malaysian, Thai and Japanese Cuisine" which usually is not a good sign to me. When they are not specialized in one type of cuisine, then that means they are not really authentic. But hey, why not give them a try, maybe I get a pleasant surprise. The inside was a good space and bright with natural light coming in from large windows. We arrived shortly after they opened, so it was empty. It did get a bit crowded within 30 min or so, seems like it is a popular place among the locals. We ordered Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) and Thai Dirty Fried Brown Rice. After having a real authentic Thai food at awesome restaurant in NYC, it is not easy to go back to those typical American-Thai food...just brown noodle or rice dish. They are good though, comforting and I liked the spiciness. We added one dessert to share, Homemade Eggnog Bread Pudding. The eggnog flavor was a seasonal special. It was a bit smaller than I expected, since bread pudding is usually a bigger sized dessert. It had mountain of whipped cream and caramel rum sauce and cinnamon on top. The staffs were really nice, even though they have thick accent and we had a very slight problem communicating, but they were polite and helpful. If you like those typical, more Americanized version of Thai food, they do offer generous amount of those at good, affordable price. read more
