Dishes are priced for lunch or dinner but no lunch specials per se. A lunch special would normally entail a soup or an appetizer and I think that would help offset the mindset that your paying premium lunch prices for just the dish with rice. Most dishes are from 13.50 to 14.75. Lunch is served in a uniquely shaped dish with a handle. It's deep enough to make it a mini bowl. And thats really how it's served, over rice as opposed to rice in a mound on the side. I'm always going to get Massaman curry with chicken as my baseline on a first visit. The curry was delicious good with enough thin sliced white chicken meat to get your protein fill. Was balanced with crisp green beans, zucchini, broccoli, onion, carrot and plenty of potato.The dish is mildly spiced with a distinct presence of crushed peanuts throughout the sauce. That's a plus for me. It wasn't spicy and I think I might want to turn the heat up next time. I would have liked to had a fresh summer roll but at $7.65 for1 (unless I read the menu pricing wrong) I wasn't doing it for this lunch. There was a steady stream of take outs while I was dining. I think the location is pretty good on Rt 138 in Stoughton almost at the Easton line. Plenty of parking. Honestly nothing extraordinary here but a satisfying meal with nice service by Lane and that's good. One drawback and I struggled with including it here as I know its a pervasive restaraunt industry problem but after finishing and awaiting my bill I noticed the tiniest couple of gnats flying in and around the bowl trying to enjoy a little leftover. The food here is incredible!!! Everything we tried was bursting with flavor!! The mango fried rice was addictive!! The panang curry was mouth watering!! And the pad thai was the best I've had in a really really long time!! The restaurant was so clean and the staff was so friendly!! The only negative thing is they are very stingy with the meat. Hands down the best drunken noodles I ever had. Went her for the first time last evening. They do takeouts and they do have dine-in options. The place looks very ordinary but is clean and well maintained. We ordered edamame and some tea to start us off. The tea was served is really cute cups, and I really enjoyed that. The lady poured us more refills and I was super happy. The salt in the edamame was just right, a bit of more salt just the way I like it. I ordered vegetable drunken noodles and the first bite just unbelievably amazing and I couldn't stop eating. The spice levels were just right for me, the noodles were cooked to perfection, the vegetables were sautéed just right, the combination of sauces was dynamite and it made one delicious plate of dinner for me. Everything I've had from here has been incredible. Highly recommend the pad see you (especially shrimp), tofu or veggie pad thai and any of the fried rices. Service is great as well, super friendly and every order we've placed here (even a massive one) has come out right every time. They even threw in free chicken spring rolls and extra crab rangoons in our order with a sweet thank you note written on the container last night! I'm so glad to have a great Thai place in the area. P.S. The crab rangoons might seem disappointing visually but you'd never believe how much tastier they are when they're not surrounded by so much wonton. Do yourself a favor and get them. read more

Got a takeout of the red curry during lunch. Portion is quite small... like people who wants to go on a diet, this is for you. It also could be that it was lunch hours but still... During dinner hours they don't include rice with the curry... it will cost extra. I was hoping the vegetable would be drench with the coconut curry sauce but it's not. Despite little cons, the flavors was good. I also got Tom yum soup which was so bland bland bland... Coconut soup was really good. So I would recommend the coconut soup over the Tom yum. I tried Ruk Mae for takeout after hearing so many wonderful things about it. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, Crab Rangoon, chicken spring rolls, and sesame chicken. The Pad Thai was okay, but didn't have a ton of flavor. I also was disappointed by how little chicken was in it. The chicken spring rolls were my favorite part. They were super flavorful, full of chicken, and came with a great dipping sauce. The Crab Rangoon was also delicious, but they weren't like any Crab Rangoon I've ever tried. The wrapper was incredibly thin, and only partially surrounded the filling. The sesame chicken was great as well, with super crispy breading and a sticky sauce. However the sauce had a lot of tang to it and didn't really taste like a tradition sesame chicken to me Definitely worth trying, but go in with an open mind that some of the dishes with common names may not be what you're picturing! read more

I liked the the "Mom" mural and obligatory Thai art. I had fried veggie dumplings that were overcooked and very greasy and, lacking flavor. The pad thai was of the extremely sweet type not my favorite. The vegetables were fresh but too much broccoli (6 pieces) which dominated the dish. Ruk Mae has some of the best Thai cuisine I've ever had. Started with their version of crab Rangoon, which were super lightly fried pillows of crabmeat. Followed with chicken satay, served with Thai sweet & sour sauce & a Thai peanut sauce to die for. Their hot & sour soup with shrimp is quite spicy, just the way I like (though I like adding some of the sweet & sour sauce for sweet flavor).. For the entree I had the shrimp pad Thai, really delicious (pictured). Rarely do I have dessert but their version of fried ice cream is the best, served with honey drizzle or chocolate sauce (we had both). Small place located in a strip mall but so worth it. I have sooooooo much appreciation for Ruk Mae! I have an infant with an allergy and I've had to cut dairy and soy out of my diet. But, I truly felt that Leng took the time and effort to walk me through the menu items that they would be able to make soy free. And soy free with East Asian Cuisine? It is so thoughtful! Tried Ruk Mae for the first time tonight and our meal was delicious! We got Pad Thai with chicken, pineapple rice and crab rangoon. I'm a crab rangoon junkie and let me tell you, these were flippin good. Perfect amount of crunch and creaminess. I could have eaten 20 of those alone. The pineapple rice was perfect. We didn't ask for any meat in the rice as we wanted it as a side dish. It was so good it didn't need anything additional. Very light, fresh, fragrant and delicious. We both got Pad Thai with chicken as our main dish and it was so good. Again, the ingredients tasted so fresh and perfectly balanced. We will definitely be coming back soon! read more

I moved to Quincy one year ago, and since then I have not been able to locate a Thai restaurant in Quincy that remotely lives up to Ruk Mae's standards!! One year later, I decided to FINALLY order takeout from Ruk Mae again, because it had been far too long and I finally realized again how much I missed it! Summer roll was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly and explained why the curry could not be made vegan. I had a ginger vegetable dish with almost all fresh vegeys. Shrooms, onions, broccoli, string beans were all fresh. The sauce, for me anyway, too much sodium. The restaurant was spotless, and the serving size was substantial. I have lived in Stoughton for many years and have ordered to- go many many times from every Chinese restaurant going back to when the Mandarin House was in town. My son recommended Ruk Mae and I haven't had Thai food many times but gave it a shot. Everything is tasty and FRESH.
