Ruk Mae is the single best Thai food I have ever had. Everything taste like it is truly cooked by a person who cares - you can feel the love in the food. On top of that, the owners are the nicest, most welcoming people you could hope for. After my first time going there, the owner remembered me by name and is always happy to have a conversation. You can tell she loves her customers, it shows in every single aspect of the restaurant. I LOVE Ruk Mae. Mediocre at best. I used to live in Boston and all the offerings there are better (obviously). I tried Ruk Mae a few times since I've moved to Stoughton and there really isn't any reason for me to come back. I wanted to make sure I gave them a few chances before writing a review. If you're in the south shore and want Thai, I would say Pad Thai in Quincy, Lime Leaf in Weymouth, or Thai Food Theory in Brockton are the best. And since Thai Food Theory is so close to Easton/Stoughton, it would easily be the better choice. read more

I absolutely love everything I have ever tried on their menu! Light, Fresh and Tasty!! My favorite is the Rama Garden!! The tempura and shrimp shumai are super yummy too but leave room for the sticky rice dessert. It is never crowded and we always are served super quickly. read more

Didn't stay to dine in. I ordered takeout. I had the pineapple shrimp and chicken fried rice. The food was made within 15 minutes. It tasted absolutely delicious and fresh. I had a brief conversation with the owner who was very pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant. Though I didn't stay to dine in I would say that the restaurant itself look pretty neat and clean. This is a late review. But... i won't forget how bland the chicken pad thai was. And how ok the chicken satay was. I am so glad there is a Thai place that is not only close to me, but good!! We tried the satay for a starter and the pad thai, drunken noodles & pineapple fried rice for our meals. All were very very good. My boyfriend loves that you can make the drunken noodles even hotter then they usually come, so next time he's going for a level 3! Always consistent, Ruk Mae serves delicious dishes. The Summer Roll appetizer is light with mango and carrot and served with sweet peanut sauce. The Couple in Love is a good blend of chicken and shrimp with broccoli, peppers and mushrooms served in a tangy sauce. They also prepare spicy dishes. The Pad Thai is also a great dish. The food is always prepared fresh. Tucked away in a strip plaza on the Stoughton / Easton town lines, it's a diamond in the rough. We always enjoy dining there and they have quite a few people walk in for take out as well. If you like Thai cuisine, this is the place to go to. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the Rama garden which was steamed vegetables with rice and peanut sauce. It was ok but not great. My steamed vegetables were not drained - there was a lot of water at the bottom of the bowl which made it difficult to mix with rice. The peanut sauce was very thin and salty, and there wasn't much of it. A request for more never came. For dessert, we ordered mango sticky rice and the sticky rice was not actually sticky, it was ice cold, and the coconut cream was watery. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with my husband and was a little concerned when we pulled up to see only one family here but we decided to try it anyway and we were not disappointed! The food was so good! We ordered an entree and two noodle dishes and it was able to be made vegan and gluten free. We were very impressed! It is extremely hard to find gluten free and vegan Thai food. The woman who seated and served us was so sweet and was able to make recommendations as the first item I picked was not able to be made gluten free. We were visiting friends near the Boston area and they took us here for some of the most amazing Thai food we've ever had! Everything was incredible. Highly recommend the spicy chicken wings and pad Thai. The place is owned by two sisters who run around serving in restaurant customers and take out orders nonstop so it does require a little patience but it is worth it. This is by far some of the best Thai I've ever had in my life. The shrimp tempura and crab rangoon appetizers were right on point. The Pad Thai is exceptional here. The Couple in Love and Rama Beef entrees were flavorful and balanced. It was completely worth it to save room for dessert, I loved the fried ice cream with chocolate syrup on top. I like this place. I have been twice now. It's nice to have a Thai place in Stoughton again. I have gotten take out once, and eaten in once. The chicken pad Thai was really good and I had a huge portion. I ate it twice and probably could have eaten a third time, except my son offered to finish it. The Satay were very good and juicy too--not dried out over cooked meat. Everything tastes freshly made. The people that own the place are very nice. I had an order of chicken satay and a huge order of chicken pad Thai for under $18. I definitely had enough for at least two meals. Decor 1-star Service 1-star Food 1/2-star I give it 3 months Not a snob but I've eaten at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas and most of the better Thai restaurants in the Boston area. We went on Sunday night 6:30. Absolutely empty. Ordered Sweet and Sour soup ("our specialty"); waited 10 minutes then was brought Tom Yum instead. Thai basil beef came out poorly seasoned. The beef was cut in big 3" circles, not a dice like it usually is and it was tough and dry. Green beans were whole and not well trimmed. No visible sauce to keep it moist. Our mango curry was no better. Mango was cut in large random sized pieces. Yellow squash chunks were not trimmed. The kicker was the sticky rice which was presented wrapped in Saran in a bamboo server. The Saran was hard to remove and the rice was dry like it had been sitting around for a couple of days. Midway through we pulled out about a 2 foot piece of thread. Yuck. read more

Fantastic fresh food and great vegetarian and vegan options. Veggie steamed dumplings were savory and homemade. Jungle curry with tofu was full of lightly fried tofu cubes and freshly cooked vegetables that were firm and very spicy but not drowning in sauce like many Thai restaurants. I'm so used to overcooked and overseasoned veggies when I eat out, so I was delighted by the complete opposite experience here! Everything tasted light and clean and subtly seasoned. So healthy! This is the best Thai place that I've ever been. I heard such good about it and I see why now. When you first walk in there usually isn't anyone, but don't get the wrong idea, most people get takeout, as it is more based as a takeout restaurant.
