first timer. best thai food around this area. went with friends after work. small spot and gets busy fast so be prepared. service is VERY fast. we ordered apps an drinks first and within minutes we had them. this was for a party of 8. food came out very quick. to some that might mean its just microwaved or reheated leftovers but nope very fresh very tasty. the waiter was on point. came over and remained attentive throughout. very informative. he answered all our questions about specific menu items. i ordered the shrimp in a blanket. crispy batter with fresh shrimp inside along with pork. served with deliciously sweet duck sauce. sooo good! as a meal I had the Spicy Thai basil chicken fried rice. a huge order for around $7-8. plenty to share and plenty for leftovers. i had this same rice at pho basil in Boston and this one was pretty close to it. it had fresh chicken pieces, fresh crunchy veggies and a bit of heat. my friends had the pad thai which was a hit! 5 out of 8 ordered it lol looks yummy. overall 5 stars. enjoyed it would def return. large menu, good service, fresh food, must try! read more

So I've only gotten takeout from here, at friends' houses, but it is ridiculously delicious. I've got two words for you - Massaman Curry. It is SO insanely tasty - so good that I get greedy about it and want to eat it all myself. Everything I've had from here is nothing short of scrumptious - I imagine it's even better to eat in house. Stopped for lunch, first time here after having driven past a few times. Large and very diverse menu of several Asian cuisines. We enjoyed garlic flavored chicken over crispy noodles, and chicken red curry. Chicken red curry a favorite of mine that I like to use as a baseline first try for a new Thai restaurant. It had a somewhat earthier taste than i am used to, and more basil, but was very good with a mild spicy kick and plenty of fresh crispy vegetables. My wife was very please with her chicken dish as well. Very reasonably priced for lunch. Comparison with Crystal's Kitchen (which, I think I have read, is related to the Chatta Box by way of divorce :-) ) across Bridgewater is inevitable. Similarly large varied menus of mixed Asian cuisines, excellent food both. Chatta Box, at least during our visit, seemed less crowded and hectic. There is much more to explore on the menu. I would have my last meal here, it's THAT good. Despite the fact that I currently live 3000 miles away, each and every time I come home for the holidays, the trip is not complete unless we've been to The Chatta Box. The service is always really good...the staff always have a big smile on their face and are extremely attentive. The food is where this place really shines though. My husband is a really fussy eater and it speaks volumes that he can find things that he loves on the menu as well. Some favorites from the menu: scallion pancakes, vegetable tempura, pad woon sen, pad thai... but really, everything is pretty amazing. The food here is absolutely delicious. The jungle peak noodles are full of amazing chili flavors and packed with veggies! You can NOT go wrong with a noodle dish here. Had a nice lunch here with some girlfriend this past weekend. We are always looking for new places in the Bridgewater area since it is a mid way point for a lot of us. This was our first trip to The Chatta Box and we enjoyed it. I had the sesame chicken which is strange because I love thai food but nothing really struck my fancy that day. It was good, and I loved the crispy noodles it was served over. A large enough portion, but not crazy huge. The others tried the mango chicken which was served in a mango shell, the basil fried rice and a few other dishes. Everyone enjoyed them, but I would disagree with others who said the portions are huge. At least for lunch they were just the perfect lunch size portions, and the lunch price was just right too! We also ordered scallion pancakes (there are 2 per order so the six of us ordered 3 orders). We enjoyed them, but they were nothing like the typical Chinese food restuarnt scallion pancakes - not surprising since it is not a Chinese restaurant but we thinking really think about this before we ordered them. Two of us also ordered the Mango Tango drink which was really yummy. All in all the food was good, and it was a good place to all meet. My biggest complaint was the atmosphere which felt cold and not super welcoming to me for all the hype about it being a place to hang out on their website. But it was still an enjoyable meal and we will probably use it as a meeting place again. read more

I absolutely love this place. That said, I've never even been there. But I work right down the street and, especially with few delivery/take-out options in the area, we frequently order from Chatta Box. The menu is INSANE. The first few times I had to choose something to order, I think I had to study it overnight to actually review all of my options. Trust me, if you can't find something you want to eat at Chatta, you're out of luck anywhere. My two favorite menu items are the Pad Thai and the Hokkien Mee. Both are noodle dishes that have amazing flavor, are enough food for (at least) two meals, and are excellent quality. I also really like the Vietnamese Spring Rolls as an appetizer - they are super light and refreshing. I've never gotten the sushi here but it's on my list. Co-workers who have tried it have said it was really yummy. But I can just never pass up my favorite noodle dishes when we order from there, so someday I will have to give that a shot. Delivery is also always very fast, efficient and friendly. I will continue to go back over and over again. and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Bridgewater area. read more

I'd read lots of good reviews for this place, so I was pretty excited to try the Thai food there. Well, to put it plainly, I was severely disappointed. I've had way better Thai food elsewhere (like Sweet Lemons (Weymouth) or Bangna Gardens (Kingston)). To start off, I got a thai iced tea. That was okay but could have used more cream, the cinnamon flavor was much too strong for my liking. For an appetizer, we got the Veggie Tempura. The Veggie tempura was too greasy, overcooked (batter was just so thick) and lacked the freshness of other places I've had it at. The vegetables themselves lacked flavor. It was just plain heavy. The peanut sauce we asked for, on the side, was the worst peanut sauce I'd ever had in a Thai/Asian restaurant. It lacked the spiciness I've tasted in the past at other Thai restaurants and it was more like they microwaved plain peanut butter in the microwave. The two main dishes we got were the beef garlic rice and the chicken yellow curry. The beef garlic rice dish was okay but the yellow curry was awful. I guess for a curry it wasn't the worst thing I've ever tasted but in regards to yellow curries I've had in the past, it didn't seem like or taste like a yellow curry in my opinion. It lacked the sweetness of coconut and the veggies were overdone and mushy. I know that this place serves more than just Thai food and that Thai food is probably not their specialty, but it surprised me at just how disappointing the meal ended up tasting overall. Saying your open until 930 is a nice scam when the better Thai food across the street is only open until 9. This is THE BEST THAI IN BOSTON!!!!! This THAI will make you move to the south shore!!! I know, it's not in Boston proper. But I've been to "Boston's Best Rated" Thai restaurants all over town and none of them compare! Everything is kick-ass...noodle dishes, curries, seafood, beef, chicken, soups....the service is wonderful even when it is crazy busy (which is every weekend). The restaurant is simple, very casual....it's cold if it's empty but who care's....have some more curry! They also have this great noodle dish called Mee Siam.....can't find it anywhere but here. There are not enough stars in the world for this place. I'm not joking. I have been here dozens of times and have never been disappointed. The sushi is great. The Veggie tempura, mango stir fried chicken, pad Thai and black pepper beef are all top choices but my absolute favorite is the Pad Woon Sen. Pork shrimp cabbage and shitake mushroom on a bed of glass noodles with some kind of amazing sauce. They are great about dietary concerns. They will make any noodle dish with glass noodles to make it "low carb" you can also ask them to go light on the sauce to lessen the caloric bomb. I find I have to be kind of assertive when asking for them to spice it up because they take one look at me and think I can't handle the heat. If you like things spicy look them right in the eye and say three star spicy please! Chatta Box has opened my eyes to a whole new world of Asian cuisine. I grew up on the typically american chinese food stuff, and let me just tell you that this place blows any food I've had out of the water! Fresh ingredients, creative, health conscious, extremely tasty food that offers an experience to taste other parts of the world in your back yard. I LOVE IT! Now on to what I've tried...The Korean Kalbi ribs are AMAZING! They were flavorful and cooked over some sort of flame. The wings are good, but sometimes they can be dry. The spicy noodles in a pot are tasty, but not as spicy as I would have liked, but still good. The mango rice was amazing...fresh onions, peas, scallion, mango, soooo good. The mango did lack flavor, but I just ate around it. I've also had the Pad Thai which was good, I really liked the peanut sauce- very peanut buttery. The meat seems to be great quality, but the shrimp usually seems overcooked, but still delicious. Veggies are always fresh, and have nice color, and flavor. Excellent menu, with soooo many choices. Tried Chatta Box for the first time for a business lunch and it was great. Cozy restaurant with excellent servers. The food came out fast and it was hot. About the food. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) are the best and the steamed dumplings rock. The dumpling appetizer was about 6 small (1") dumplings - they are about half the size I expected but they tasted great! The dipping sauce was a spicey ginger and it was awesome as well. The guys I was dining with had several different dishes and we all left happy. Entrees are between $8 and $12 and appetizers vary. My bill was around $15 with the tip. I will definately be going back. read more

Best Thai restaurant I've experienced (and I've eaten at many). I travel down from Boston just to eat here 5-10 times a year. I'm vegetarian, but even for me there's a wide variety of dishes available. My favorites are Basil Fried Rice and Green Curry Vegetables - both fantastic. Start your meal with Vegetable Tempura - a VERY lightly battered mixture of good-for-you morsels served with a pleasing dipping sauce; this is not for KFC-tastes, who like a thick batter within which you barely can find - much less taste - the primary ingredient. Chatta Box offers a fairly broad spectrum of asian food with a focus on Thai. I really enjoy this place, I find their dishes are not heavy, but very light in how they are cooked. I'm an insomniac. So I spend a fair bit of time in the dark, wee hours, iPad in hand, fantasizing. Occasionally I get caught by my lady friend reading and watching "food porn" - Anthony Bourdain's moniker for food that we like to look at but have no actual chance of ever eating. There are a number of people with YouTube channels that travel the world just to eat local food. I particularly enjoy the folks traveling the Far East since it's not possible for me to spend a month and the money to eat my way through the region. Luckily, there's Chatta Box in Bridgewater. I call this style of restaurant "Pan Asian." But the menu specifically says Thai, Japanese, Korean, and Malaysian. That covers a bit of ground, and it's impressive to see a small kitchen turn out such a wide array of cuisines from a large swath of geography while mastering all of the subtley different flavor profiles. I've been coming to Chatta Box for over 10 years, and have never had a bad meal - or even a mediocre one. That's quite a statement. Chatta box has become a favorite of mine for authentically prepared, reasonably priced food that is always flavorful and fresh. The Fried Noodle part of the menu is an amusement park on it's own. Try the Indian Mee Goreng; Spicy Stir Fried Egg Noodles with a a combination of dark and sweet soy sauces, egg, sprouts, and the meat of your choice. This is actually an authentic street food common in Kuala Lumpur. Beats the hell out of a pretzel from an American push cart. Amazing! The Black Pepper Noodles are another richly sauced yellow noodle number tossed with shiitake mushrooms, onions and scallions. This pairs nicely with beef. Of course, Pad Thai is wonderfully prepared and is available in standard stir fry or crispy. Both are exceptional. The Stir Fry section has a wonderful sampling of flavors and preparation methods from all over that part of the world. Sushi is fresh, plentiful, and reasonably priced. There's no shortage of curries as well. They specialize in Thai curries. I'm addicted to the Massaman Curry (try it with crispy, puffed tofu!). The Choo Chee is rich, sweet and savory, and is the perfect compliment for the traditional crispy/fatty duck. I could go on about the variety of fried rice dishes, fresh rolls, Pho soup, etc. But I don't have the time. Trust me, all choices on the menu represent good+ examples of each dish. The options for vegetarians and even vegans are plentiful as well. At Chatta Box the service is fast and the food arrives piping hot (or appropriately cold if it's sushi, etc.). While we're talking heat... The folks at Chatta Box take their spice (chili) seasoning seriously! You can order anything mild or spicy on a 1-5 scale with 5 being the hottest. When they say 5 is extremely hot, they mean it! If we are to go back to the amusement park analogy from earlier, you really have to be "This Tall" to go on a spice ride over a level 2. I like my food spicy enough to make me sweat with out being harmed. A 3 pushes it right to the edge of harm for me. You've been warned! Now if they only delivered at 3am... read more

Last time I had their meat, it was dried up and old...I understand that during the pandemic, it is hard for restaurants to stay afloat, but it really was not acceptable. I still get sick thinking about this place. The last time I went there I got sick, my friend got sick and to test, my brave friend ate the leftovers and he got sick too! Since then I took my ServeSafe certification (for food service safety) and learned three sick is an epidemic and the board of health should have been notified. They would have been shut down. Did they have any idea about food poisening? No! They thougth it took 3 days to get sick. Someone will get sick again, will it be you? Di they apologize? No! Did they offer anything (they knew me there and me and my friends had hundreds of meals there. No! It's been 2 years and I will never step foot in the place again. It's a real shame. Um yeah Not sure if the reviews on here are generate or was made when the old owners was in town. I am highly annoyed I spent $41.00 and didn't get my money's worth. The food taste terrible only thing worthy thing I recieved from this place was the Carb Ragoon (which tasted like cheap frozen Shaws 2 for $5 special brand) everything else tasted gross thought I'd get regular scallion pancakes but nope just got these weird looking patties that was fried on the outside and what looked like mash on the inside the scallions was gigantic and thrown into the pancakes and was bland with no flavor I ordered fried Rice and I received a jumble order of UNCLE BENS RICE and the chicken was over cook and dry the pork in the wontons looked like meatballs and my ribs was burnt with no SALT. I dont lie and I am very blunt this place is disgusting and a complete RIP off. Dont not eat here it's not Chinese it's a scam. I work close to Bridgewater so this is a weekday lunch hour spot. People from my company are all very fond of this spot...its has a cult following...especially for events like BDay. The waiting staff is friendly. Some actually remembers your name which is always a feel good momemt. The portion and flavor is pretty consistent. 9 out of 10 times is spot on. Even when its not spot on its not too bad. My top dishes - Coconut Chicken (Appetizer) - Beef Basil - Black Pepper Beef Noodle - Drunken Noodle - Fried Ice Cream If you go with a party just be aware their food fly out of kitchen quickly, but not necessarily at the same time. So the guests at your table may receive their food at various times. I like my food hot so often need to eat before other folks receive theirs. Area of improvement I guess. Now they have 2 small LCD TV running loops of their food pictures. I have to say its refreshing to see the actual food looking like the showcase pictures. Not all restaurant can do that. The food is very fresh, full of flavor, and the menu has a huge selection of not only Thai, but food from all over Southeast Asia. Clearly, the most popular place in Bridgewater. We drove down on a Friday night and were very surprised at the crowd of people, in a good way. They actually have a pager system like the larger chain restaurants, but we waited for about 15 minutes. Throughout the evening there was a steady stream of take-out orders getting picked up and delivery going out. The kitchen was still moving along at a pretty good clip. The menu is large and had a lot of choices ranging between Chinese, Malaysian, Korean, Thai, and Japanese. We started with some sushi which was very good, as well as the steamed dumpling combo. The crab dumplings were actually shumai. My wife went with the super crazy crispy pad Thai and it was certainly different with a good mix or tofu, chicken and shrimp. I ordered the spicy Korean kimchi tofu soup extra spicy. Their spice ranges from a 1-5. I asked for a 5, but it wasn't spicy really. The service was attentive and friendly. My family and I were staying in a hotel nearby and were looking for some carryout food in the area. I am so happy we came across Chatta Box. Not only are the portions big, the food is cheap, and the quality of the food is high. We got a curry chicken with rice, which was very good but I think the massaman curry would have been a litttle more flavorful. the chicken was very tender the only downside was that it was very big pieces. However, DEFINITELY get the Deji Bulgogi if you are coming here. It is just amazing and incredibly flavorful. read more

Chattabox has the best authentic Thai food around. The portions are very large which is great for leftovers! The green curry chicken with jasmine rice is to die for. It is the best I have ever had. Their fried rice is delicious as well. We got the garlic fried rice with chicken and shrimp; the chicken was so tender and moist with no fat! I'm so picky about chicken and theirs is awesome. My girlfriend got the pad Thai which was really good. We got crab rangoons as an appetizer and they were amazing- so creamy and crispy! Five stars every time, I have never had a bad experience.
