We almost didn't go in as the very large parking lot was near capacity when we arrived about 6:30 PM. We found a place and went in expecting a line and a wait, but were taken immediately to our table. It is a very dynamic and lively place and the servers work very hard. We had two large dinner salads, the Kale and Quinoa and the Chicken Caesar. Both were unbelievably fresh and tasty, and big! Server Emily was very cool under all the pressure of a full house, and made sure we had a pleasant dining experience. We will definitely return here on our next visit to Omaha. read more

We had a small company holiday party at Charleston's a few weeks ago, and as usual it did not disappoint. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and a blackened shrimp skewer. My steak was cooked to perfection! Wonderfully seared on the outside, with a warm pink center..exactly the way that Medium Rare should be done! Kudos! The shrimp skewer was tasty but many commented that the blackened seasoning was too spicy. Their Perfect Margaritas were just as good as I had remembered! This is a pretty noisy restaurant when things get hopping on a Friday or Saturday night, so it may not have been the best place for our get-to-gether, but that food and service couldn't be beat! read more

Everything in the meal was tasty, and the service was fine. Atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty casual, so it was nice surprise that my fillet was one of the best I have ever had! I heard that the ribs were also delicious, but I didn't get a chance to try myself. The people that I was with raved about the croissants, but I didn't think they were too special. Apparently Charleston's is known for their croissants, so give them a try. read more

Charleston's has my favorite ribs in town. They are smoked to perfection and the BBQ sauce is amazing. I've actually never had anything other than the ribs here and I don't plan too anytime in the near future. People I have been with have had other entrees and have agreed that it's a great restaurant. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been! read more

Cesar salad was ok, good spice Croissant was warm, good touch. Steak was good, cooked exactly what you order. The fillet was thick, so medium would enhance flavor more than my usual medium rare. Service was great, top line training of personable contact, with your name on tag st your seat and their names facing you , nice touch. Price ok. Bar is open to kitchen so nice quiet intimate setting is interrupted by dishes clanging continously. Again high in service at bar. Dining room very busy, a good indication of value of resturant. read more

I went to Charleston's for dinner right after work. While there isn't anything terribly exciting about the atmosphere, it is a very easy and comfortable environment. Lighting=cozy, acoustics=great, seating=comfortable. Our server was attentive and nice, but seemed like he was trying way too hard (I think because he was training someone). We got there early (5:30pm) and by the time we left at 7:00pm the place was packed. While I can only attest for the food in the one meal I have had there, my dinner partner had eaten there multiple times and rattled off a list of the dishes she had tried and enjoyed. I got the salmon salad. The salmon was amazing. The salad was pretty average. Because of the comfortable environment, good service and yummy food, I will definitely be back to Charleston's. read more

Logan was a great waiter! Best I've have in a long time. And the prime rib was really good! read more

I'm obsessed with their potato soup!!! Also, their house dressing is so delicious that I would actually drink it out of a cup. The last time I went here was for my mother in-laws birthday and we had a party of 13. For the size of the group, our service was pretty quick. I ordered the baby back ribs which were ok but I've had better. Overall nice place for a family dinner! read more

The food at Charleston's isn't unique, but what they offer is well-executed. Stopped in with DW for a mid-week dinner. Place was hoppin', but we were seated immediately. Ordered spinach artichoke dip which is very good. DW ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered the ribs. Everything tasted great. The ribs were very tender and sauced just right. While our server was adequate, she wasn't very attentive, and must've known the couple sitting across from us, as she seemed to be focusing more on having drawn-out personal conversations with them as opposed to working her section. Just an observation. read more

Went for a family get together on a Sat night. Really crowded and loud. Food was food. Pork chops are great. The martinis are good. Dimly lit restaurant. Good for a date. read more

This place is awesome! Everyone is happy and engaged . They are there to help and make your experience happy. The food is delicious, I only want for more choices. But the occasion makes more than up for it . I love it read more

Last visit there was not good. We invited friends to meet us there for lunch. The pork chops were awful! Full of gristle and we were very disappointed. Think we win't go back there for a while. $100 lunch w/water. read more

Our first time trying Charleston's. Overall a very good experience. We were seated promptly, and drink orders were taken and delivered quickly. We ordered the Queso and chips appetizer. The queso was on point and the salsa was fresh and tasty. I ordered the parmigiana chicken with the grape tomato herb salad. Both were quite tasty. My girlfriend ordered the fish and chips. The fish was delicious (I had a bite). The chips (fries) were cold and limp however. Upon learning of this, our server Jennifer, brought fresh hot fries to the table and offered us free dessert. We ordered the carrot cake, which without question was the best I have ever tasted. The piece was huge! Overall I thought the food was very good. Jennifer, our server was outstanding. Very attentive without being bothersome, a big smile and very polite. I'm sure we will be back. read more

I visited with expectations of having the Impossible Burger. They had the burger, but it was WAY WAY over done. Disappointed. It was overly charred. If you Google for impossible Burger, and view the first hit, it displays an image of how the burger should be prepared. Nowhere near what was offered. But, perhaps they just need more time to learn how to prepare the burger properly. read more

Should be giving this place five stars for consistently well cooked filet and salmon. Hard to believe it's a chain. The only issue was the server spilling juices from the fish on the table but meh all's good. Again time and time again Charlestons kills it! read more

First time customers here and we will be back!! The wait staff went above and beyond and the food was excellent! Real small time mom and pop hospitality feel to this place and reasonable price for an Omaha sit-down restaurant. read more

My fiance and I went to dinner last night and we had the best experience. Our server was training someone but still managed to keep our drinks filled (without asking), checked on us numerous times and was very knowledgeable over the items. We had the shrimp escargot and it was phenomenal! He had the Prime Rib, with a salad and a loaded baked potato, I had the baby back ribs with fried okra and glazed carrots. Everything was fabulous. We would definitely recommend. read more

Long time diner. One of the best steak values in town. Little disappointed with the price increase and portion size decrease, but still one of the best pepper corned fillets in town. read more

GOD USED ADAM'S RIB TO CREATE CHARLESTON'S baby back ribs!! Best ribs in town! Disappointed the Chicken Marsala disappeared off of their menu a year or so back, would love to see that crowd favorite back on, and also will help control the world being over populated by chickens. baaa gaaaawk!! 4 stars because the black linened help doesn't know how to park in the back lot. (they park more crooked than a Brit's smile) read more

The service was good and the house salad was unexpectedly delicious. Their Shrimp Cargot is sooo good, and I've always liked the overall atmosphere... But, I've been burned again on the steak. I can't seem to get a good steak there. I order Medium Rare and it always comes out raw. I know why. They have the grill turned up way too high, so the outside always cooks faster. Steaks are expensive and when you rush them, you screw them up. I know they've got a lot to do back there, but this is Omaha. You can't cook a Medium Rare steak? I would have eaten it without complaint if it were over, but it came out raw twice. By the third time they brought it out, it was over and charred and I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites. My wife said her Talapia was great, but I was looking for a good steak and the next time I'm in the mood for one, I won't go to Charleston's. read more

We've been going to Charleston's pretty frequently over the past 6 months or so... and every visit leaves us stuffed with great food after having an enjoyable experience. I would have given it 5 stars... but the sound levels are pretty darn high for some reason. I don't know why but it always seems super loud for such an intimate feeling restaurant. Not much to be done about that I suppose... but if you are looking to have a nice romantic dinner with your sweetie - the noise levels do get in the way of that. Great food! The croissants are simply amazing and are worth spending a few extra dollars to for the table to share (seriously!). The Chicken Fried Steak is massive in size and is hands down the best around. The Prime Rib is my hubby's favorite. My favorite is Walt's Champagne Chicken Salad (WOW! It is a party of mouth-watering flavors exploding with joy that tease the taste buds - seriously good). The service is really wonderful. Our favorite waiter is David. He is just so kind and attentive. He's the kind of waiter you hope you get EVERY SINGLE TIME you eat out at a restaurant. I'd kinda like to clone him or at least carry him around in my pocket. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to actually listen as well as just communicate with his customers. He honestly cares that the customer is having a good experience and goes out of his way to make you feel like you are his only customer every single time. He's quick without the typical "hurry/rush" just to get a good tip and he anticipates your needs by actually paying attention to them. I highly recommend Charleston's on West Dodge. Great place (although a little loud)... with excellent food... and fantastic service. read more

This is the best and cheapest place for a great dinner and even better steak! Our waitress, Jessica, was extremely good and gave great recommendations for my family to try. The Spinach and Artichoke Dip is a must try! The chicken fried steak is also very good for a great price! Definitely coming back here the next time I'm in Omaha. read more

We frequent Charleston's and are usually satisfied with quality. However, we recently went for dinner and my husband and I both ordered their fish special...mahi mahi. I got mine blackened, he got his grilled. Upon delivery everything looked great. Unfortunately, that was the only great thing. The mahi mahi was so bland...even w blackened spice. His grilled was the same, just blah! The kicker was they market priced this dish so we didn't know until we got the bill that the fish was $33 a plate!!! I guess we should have double checked. I would have paid $33 for great fish, but not this bland business. Totally not worth it. Check pricing on their nightly specials! And don't get the mahi mahi, not worth it. Lesson learned. Also, wish they didn't take off the chicken picatta (spelling?). My husband and father in-law LOVED that dish, now they don't want to go to Charlestons as often. read more

I have been enjoying my homes closeness to this location and realized I did need to update my review because Charlestons has become a go to place, always friendly with delicious food go to. First of all Charlestons has the best baked potato soup. I love that soup. I crave that soup. But! everything I have tried there has been delicious. sausage pesto flatbread appetizer, French dip, chicken tenders that they so nicely made with mashed potatoes and the chipotle gravy so I could have chicken fried chicken. the pecan crusted chicken with pasta and the herbal vinaigrette salad. the key lime pie is a favorite. I am not a huge carrot cake fan and they even won me over with one of the most delicious versions I ever had. this weekend I tried a steak filet dinner that I heard they did a delicious steak, i don't know why i was surprised. everything else i have had there has been completely knock down delicious and it was.. what amazed me was the house salad. it was perfect! AND they had creamy bacon dressing!something I WILL be ordering again. probably this week.. it was that good. very pleased with my Charlestons experiences. read more

What's not to love? Their spinach dip is a must have. My husband loves to get their chicken tender platter, they're amazing. I enjoy the prime rib with either brussel sprouts or fried okra. YUM! I'm vegetarian and asked the waitress about getting a salad without meat on it. She asked her manager and took a little off the cost of the salad which I really appreciated. The problem came when I realized one bite of my salad had a piece of chicken in it. I really wish they could have been more careful. Otherwise the service was ok and the salad was good. It would be nice if they had more options for vegetarians. Even one soup without meat in it would be appreciated. read more

Had another great meal here. Hawaiian ribeye. My second visit for this entree in last 3 weeks. We've never had a bad meal here.

I know it's not often I review white people food places, but I figure I've been here soooo much that it deserves a review! My sister has worked at Charleston's for over 10 years so being the cool brother I am, I'll go chill with her when she's working in the bar area. The location is weird because if you are driving down Dodge, it can be easily seen... but getting there is not so easy! I won't explain how to get there on here, but just keep trying and you'll eventually get there. The inside is dark enough that ruffees slippage may occur, or mood lighting as some may say, but who cares because really you just need to see the food in front of your face so you can chow down. The prices are higher than your average restaurant but the portions are larger than my face and they have some items on here that are non-typical. For example, if you are going to get a hamburger, I'm sure it will be like a hamburger at any other place so it will seem like you are paying more for something pretty common. But the Chicken Cibatta Sandwich.... GET IN MA' BELLY! Let me just cut to the chase as to the things I like here: Service - The staff here is always great and of course my sister is the Crazian of the place so when you go, ask for the crazy asian chick and say that Dennis recommended her on Yelp Chicken Cibatta Sandwich - Probably my FAVE thing on the menu. It is seriously a hot gooey mess with all the havarti cheese and of course.... Bacon bacon bacon! You will take a bite and be like... really?? Like reeeeeally? Why you so god damn good you dumb sandwich!! Croissants - Beecoz I am Francais, of courze I love zee croissants, and I can zay for abzoloot zertainty zat Charrrrlezton's crrrrroissants are tres delicioux!! Flaky, sweet like a frrresh ooman francaise, butterrrry.... I recommend getting zis on zee side if you don't orderrr zee salad. Menu - There have been some comparisons to Applebees and Sleazecake Factory and while I think Charleston's is pretty different than both, the menu is a smaller selection which I really like. I've been to good ol' C-Factory a couple of times and I feel like I'm going through a frickin catalogue! I don't have time for that shiz. Charleston's menu is slim, fits on one page, yet enough variety to please the masses. Wine - I've had a wiiiiiiiiiiiiide variety of all the wines here and they've got some good ones that'll make your goose feel a little loose. I'm a red fan and their St. Francis is fantastique (az zee French would zay). For you white fans out there, they just acquired some Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc which even I like! If you aren't a wine fan, then you can just get some Stella on tap... and if you don't like Stella then you shouldn't be ordering drinks mmmkay! Desserts - I wish I could say I like one particular dessert but they are all BOMB. Like... put it in your MF mouf' and BOOOOOOM! All the desserts have something special about them. Like the Bread Pudding is made with Grand Marnier sauce and the Key Lime pie... praise jebus is all I can say! It's a homemade crust and I just can't get enough. There is also this brownie-ice cream-caramel-goop-diabetes-tooth decay-50,000 calorie-thingy in a bowl that's equally as good if you are looking for something so rich it'll support you and your family and half of western Africa for the rest of your lives. Bathrooms - Someone cast the ExpilliusOpenSesameDumbledorf spell on the door so you don't have to open it yourself after washing your hands. To the average person you might not notice this, but after some wine, this provides hours of entertainment for me..... Some of the other things I like here foodwise... - Moss Point Gumbo - Walt's Champagne Chicken Salad (sans the pineapples as they are too big) - Sweet glazed carrots as a side - West End Chicken I have to apologize I'm not a steak or prime-rib fan, but I hear people really like the prime-rib here? Oh and just to warn you it can get pretty crowded during dinner time even during the weekdays! Anyway, someone suggested this in another review and I completely agree that if you are debating between different white peeps establishments like Applebee's or god forbid Sizzler, give ol' chuckleston's a go! read more

I love this place but the food Friday night was just not good. I will not come back here.... Big disappointment. Huge!! read more

Just a typical chain. Not bad, not great. Wish I could say more without being mean.

Celebrated my birthday with family tonight, Cassie was a wonderful waitress . Everyone loved their entrees.

Queso was tasteless. Chicken Fried Steak was dry. Prime Rib and the brownie were awesome but overall won't be going back

My daughter and I were here mid-day so there was no wait. Great food, good service (the waiter could have been a bit more animated). The couple sitting across from us told us they were regulars and they always receive great service and exceptional meals. Portions are more than generous and we took food to go. Four star is because we were not there during a busy time and did not do a large sampling of food (we both had the chicken club which was fabulous). Definitely would return. read more

Very disappointed with Charleston's this past time. We were there on Friday 3-30-18, to celebrate a birthday and a little family gathering for Easter. There were 6 adults and we needed a baby sling for a car seat. We were seated in a booth because they said they could not put the sling at a table. With 6 adults and a couple of birthday presets, a booth was very crowded. Although the food was very good we were not comfortable at all. Even to get a refill on water we had to hand our glasses to the server in front of people. We tended to eat and head out, didn't really have time to sit and visit a bit. Maybe that was their intention. Get them in and get them out. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. A big disappointment this time. read more
