Shrimp scampi

Visit Omaha looking for a nice little cool place to eat. The bartender was awesome. The food came out fast. I had the shrimp scampi as an appetizer. And then I had the steak Cobb salad, which was also great nice fresh vegetables steak was cooked too perfect perfection

I had the burger with bacon and cheddar. It was delicious!

I had the burger with bacon and cheddar. It was delicious! Live music and everything went well.

Visited for lunch. The short rib grilled cheese and short rib tacos were solid. The blue crab rangoon egg rolls were amazing! Fun twist on a crab rangoon. Service was straight forward. Ambiance was modern - loved the chandeliers. I'm from out of state but would definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area again.

Came here with my bestie girl for lunch and it was so delicious. It was my first time trying their lunch menu, and i would definitely recommend. The ceaser dressing was soooo yummy and chicken was cooked perfectly. The burrata was also one of the best i've had. Our server was also very friendly & nice

We had an early dinner on a Thursday night. The restaurant was not crowded yet so we had very good service. There are so many choices on the menu. It was hard to decide. I chose a fried chicken dish that included green beans and mashed potatoes with a gravy. It was nice comfort food but not anything I would order again. My coworker got enchiladas and she liked hers, also. Normally, I would have taken half of it home but because I was there for work and in a hotel, I had to eat my fill at the table. I overdid it but luckily there's a really nice park nearby so I could walk it off. I ended up walking back because I forgot my receipt for my expense report and they were very nice and tracked it down for me.

Came in on a on a weeknight because we kept walking by and seeing the impressive inside decor (including massive chandeliers) and place was pretty empty. When we were seated we got our water quickly but then it was probably fifteen or more minutes before our server came back. The food was really good but the service was spotty. I would get takeout from here but it's probably more expensive than it's truly worth.

Finding the place took a bit cause they are borrowing the space next door for a few weeks while they make some improvements but it was well worth it! The menu is very diverse and the portions are ginormous! The steak salad in my photo is the half portion not the full! The steak was cooked just the way I ordered it and very flavorful! The meatballs were also amazing! The drinks were very tasty too. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly but not overly invasive. It was pretty empty while I was there on a Monday night but it did pick up a bit a little later. I won't review the ambiance or decor etc as I wasn't in their true location

Jams has consistently been a favorite and go-to spot in Omaha over the years! It's great for groups of any size and the menu has such a great variety that it'll satisfy everyone in your group - from meatballs to tacos to brunch. I've probably had most things on the menu at this point! Standouts are the bruschetta, blue crab rangoon egg rolls, meatballs, coconut chicken strips, grilled chicken Caesar salad (honestly all the salads), and the mac and cheese. for brunch the maple bacon frenchy, the strapping lad, and the biscuits and gravy. (their breakfast potatoes are soooo good and the sausage is my favorite in the city! - I'm not even that big of a sausage person too) this place is never too busy so you rarely will have a wait and the service is pretty good. The patio is awesome when it's nice out and is covered so that is a win! Overall, Jam will remain a staple in my book! and if you get anything, make sure to try the blue crab rangoon eggrolls...Now I'm craving them!

Chef special ... tacos good , I didn't eat the rice

Wait staff excellent ! My tacos were good . Not much else to say. They didn't completely wow me. But they were good. A wow is , I will be back for that same dish. Others who joined had mac and cheese and said it's as okay and one had another type of taco which they said was good. Nice ambiance , no loud music Gluten free choices !

We stopped in on a Saturday around 1pm with a group of 11. We were seated fairly quickly. We got our drinks, but in between drinks, ordering, and getting our food, there were a lot of long stretches without our server (and it wasn't busy). Otherwise, the food was fantastic!! We love their bruchetta, and we tried a new menu item, the coffee cake. It was delicious! As always my roasted turkey was fantastic. My husband got onion rings with his burger and they were also so perfectly cripsy and evenly coated. Great ambiance.

Easy spot with a great vibe in Old Market. Lots of unique menu options but I decided to go with a salad. Salad portions are quite big which is built into the price. Happy hour options are good, although, the sangria was the worst sangria I've ever had. It tasted like water with a splash of actual sangria. Anyways, service was friendly and the food item was great. Would definitely come back here!

Asian bbq tofu sandwich

We stopped in here while looking for something that was casual and low key but not just bar food and were not disappointed. This is a nice cozy place in the old market area. I could imagine that it would be quite loud when it was busy, but Wednesday night somewhat late was not that time. We tried the crab rangoon egg rolls and I got the Asian bbq tofu sandwich. I believe these were both off the specials menu. The rangoon egg rolls were interesting, definitely a lot of fresh crab as part of this. The Asian bbq tofu sandwich was rather like a banh mi in a slightly different format. I do think the spicing on both was a bit overpowering. Not so unexpected with the sandwich. It was good however, and I will definitely be back. They had quite an interesting drink selection and our server was great about helping us pick out items.

Always great service, we had a large group and things went well. We were comfortable and all the food was delicious.

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in Omaha!

So I went online and made dinner reservations for the same night and it was painless and very easy todo online. Parking can be a bit tricky but we parked using the hotel valet and that was fine. When we arrived the place was already jammed pack with people and it was the happening place to be. For starters we went with the blue cheese potato chips, jumbo lump crab cakes, beef carpaccio, and bacon wrapped shrimp. I want to say that all the appetizers that we had were phenomenal and hit the spot just right. Very good J Gilbert's! For dinner I went with the miso glazed sea bass and a cup of the crab bisque soup. While waiting for our food I went with the blood & marriage drink and boy that was delicious, I actually had two of them! After we tackled the appetizers, I dove head first into the crab bisque soup. I'm a sucker for any type of crab or lobster bisque and I had to try this. All I remember the soup had good flavor but man, was it too salty for my liking. I just remember eating it and thinking this is one salty soup. Then the main event came and I have nothing but good things to say about the miso glazed sea bass. I finished my plate and it was really good. The rice isn't really sticky rice like they say. Overall my meal at J Gilbert's was on point and highly recommend with 4 stars. Food is good and the service was good as well. I'll def come back again.

I've been to this location before but it's been a while and we really enjoyed coming back. Came in on a Saturday afternoon when it's fairly typical to have live mariachi bands roving the restaurant. The restaurant is large, and has a fun fiesta of decor. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated without reservations. It should be noted that they will take reservations during the week, but not on weekends. There are a number of large tables that can accommodate bigger groups. Complementary parking lot is available out front. However, it does get a little tight during their busy times. This is an interesting Mexican restaurant as it reminds me of something more typical of what you would find on the Yucatán peninsula. Shrimp and mixed ceviche dishes, a large variety of fish dishes, including whole fish that are very traditional for that part of Mexico. They also serve excellent salsa and guacamole, however, this is not the type of Mexican restaurant you can order dishes of queso, or some of the more traditional dishes that you would find at other, more Americanized restaurants. Our server, Christine V was super! We got there a little early in order to secure a larger table off to the side since our infant granddaughter is going to be joining us for a birthday celebration. This restaurant well they don't allow you to bring it outside cakes for dessert offer a variety of desserts that can be offered for special occasions. We were able to select a strawberry Tres Leche cake, which was just perfect for the occasion. We also enjoyed their margaritas, which were excellent and offered in the variety of enormous proportions! Everything that was ordered, was generous in quantity and delicious and quality that included a variety of fajitas and shrimp dishes. This location also offers seafood rolls that are prepared at a sushi counter. For those that are a little less brave there are a number of options that offer everything cooked and prepared just like you would find in any local sushi restaurant and as good. The one thing I also love about this restaurant is that it is immaculately clean. There's a dedicated crew that roams and never leaves anything unbussed for long. Everything appears to be wiped, sanitized, and swept in between every round of customers which is brisk. The manager came around and checked on us to ensure we have everything we need and offered us to go bags. Everything about this visit was very positive. You can choose from a wide variety of seafood such as shrimp, mussels, lobster, snow crab etc. once you choose your seafood that you select your flavoring. Choices are Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter, or a mix of all three. Lastly, choose your spice level (mild, medium, hot, etc). We both selected the snow crab and snow boil with Cajun seasoning and mild spice. The boils also come with corn, potatoes and a hard boiled egg. Never seen the egg in a boil before. Everything comes out in a big plastic bag in a steel pan. Dump the contents out and prepare to dig in. Let me say that this is not the place to go out all dressed up. The boils are very messy. My husband and I first visited Memoir for our anniversary, and it was such an awesome experience, especially for a special occasion like that. After we were done doing all of our (admittedly annoying) photography of the awesome ambiance, we finally sat down to order and eat - and the original amazingness didn't stop there! The menu is not gigantic, which I always appreciate - because I get overwhelmed by too many choices. We picked a few things to share, at the recommendation of our server (who was also amazing and made sure we had a great anniversary dinner). They even gave us a card signed by the staff wishing us a great anniversary! Those little extra touches are what really make a dining experience special. We had the Kale and Bacon Dip for an appetizer, which was DECADENTLY delicious. The dip was smooth and silky with a toasty focaccia which went really well together with the two different textures. And we also grabbed the Pork Potstickers, and my oh my, were those fantastic. Delicate potsticker wrapper, with tons of filling, resting in a carrot-ginger dressing that complemented the potsticker fantastically. We were already so pleased, and didn't believe the entrees could top the starters, but they were just as awesome, which should be no surprise. It was easier to share two entrees, because we couldn't decide between two. Our first entree was the Faroe Island Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, and served atop an indulgent bed of sweet corn risotto that I still dreeeeam about. And our second entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which was a little lighter of a meal, so was great paired with the salmon dish which was a tad heavier. I would recommend either of these dishes! We were SO full at this point but we knew we had to get a dessert since this was a special occasion. We shared the chocolate torte and devoured it, even with our extreme fullness. It was so fluffy and chocolatey and DELISH. From start to finish, this was one of the best meals I've had in Omaha. The service was on point, the eats were out of this world, and the vibe of the interior is something to behold. If you're looking for an awesome place to have a special occasion meal or just a nice dinner on a date night, look no further than Memoir for all of the above!
