My husband and I are from Texas and had some time to kill while passing through Tulsa. We stopped in Char Char for lunch based upon the great Yelp reviews and boy, were they all spot on. This place is awesome. This has also got to be the most immaculate restaurant I have ever been in. The cleanliness is top notch and it definitely added to the atmosphere of place. You order as you enter and then pick a spot to sit. The ingredients are all extremely fresh and the woman who took our order and served us, Parisa, is I believe the owner. She was very helpful in explaining their menu options and what each side was. I had the gyro sandwich with all of the toppings and sauces it comes with. The tsatziki sauce was fresh and delicious with the perfect amount of creaminess. The meat was cooked well and was very tender for gyro meat! I had mine with a side of rice topped with the chicken broth and it was probably the most fresh and tasty rice I've had. I think I'll end up craving it and wishing I lived closer to get some! My husband had the same gyro sandwich but had the tabouli as a side and it also was so good with fresh ingredients. I'm not a big fan of tabouli, but I loved this one! Definitely try both of those sides. We finished off our meal with their homemade baklava and it also did not disappoint. It was gooey, sweet, and crispy- just like the best baklava should be. The thing is exploding with so much toppings the the lettuce and sour cream decided to settle to the backside of the gyro. I don't know what what the meat is but I've been told by others that it is specially prepared lamb. Not a loss in floor at all. Love it. Best food in Tulsa by far. Rice is a special rice that has no starch so it good for diabetics and far healthier. The cashier Elijah is the funniest and best employee I've ever talked with in a business setting, extremely professional. The ambiance is amazing with music in the background.
