An Incredible Meal, Exceptional Service & the Perfect Soundtrack!…read more Went to dinner recently as a solo. I had heard so much about their short rib and mashed potatoes dish that I had to try it. I requested Rylee as my server. I met her when I had lunch this past year. Rylee is certainly one of the best servers I have ever had. Her recommendations were on point and I cannot say enough about her professionalism, friendly demeanor and menu knowledge. The short rib dish was beyond what I expected and absolutely delicious! Hands down, one of the best meals I have ever had! I also decided to get the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was so yummy! I will definitely be back. Love the atmosphere as well and the bar area is inviting. Wait! I forgot one of the best parts! The music! I am a huge fan of alternative music so being able to enjoy my meal to the sounds of New Order's "Ceremony" and then Depeche Mode while finishing my dessert was the cherry on top of the cake! It really made for an overall incredible experience! Thank you! I will definitely highly recommend your restaurant and look forward to coming back!

Locals haven't steered me wrong in the food scene here (so far), so it's where I ended up for dinner. There's a small parking lot, which was full so I found street parking. I didn't see any posted restrictions and I didn't return to a ticket so either I lucked out or there aren't any. Check for yourself. No reservation, but open seating at the bar. That's where I ended up. There's also outdoor seating but you better believe I opted for indoor seating. Took one of the high tables in the bar area. Liv was the bartender and server. She was attentive - even while taking care of what seemed like was the entire bar area. Friendly and knew her stuff. Her cocktails were balanced and though they didn't really pair with my food, I enjoyed them anyway. Food. See pics. Went with deviled eggs, tomato soup and mushroom gnocchi. Simple. Tasty and I'd have them again. Capped the night with a crunch cake (? - don't remember the name) and left feeling great having had a simple, but delicious meal in a lively fun gathering spot. One that I definitely recommend and will be back to on one of my next work visits.

Our service by Justine was like at a fancy restaurant. Our food was fabulous and abundant. My club sandwich was big and tall, even if I hadn't filled up on fantastic fried green tomatoes and possibly better than my hot crab dip (), no way I could have eaten the whole thing. Half was much enjoyed cold the next day for lunch. Hubby loved his seafood gumbo and blackened chicken sandwich. Even with all this, our bill was under $75 pre tip!

Lastly, the Banana pudding for dessert was incredible! Loved this place so much, we made a reservation for brunch here tomorrow!

We made a daquiri, a kamikaze shot, and an espresso martini. These were all very simple and there was very little interaction. All we did was pour the ingredients and shake it up. It would've been much more fun to try more complex cocktails with different elements like garnishes, muddling, etc.

One of the best apps I've ever had. Everyone that works there was so nice. From making sure we loved everything we had, to giving us garbage bags to put over our heads as we dashed to our ride share when it poured and we didn't have an umbrella. The vibe is chill but chic all in one. These cocktails were memorable, just like the food and bar staff was as well!

What's bad: There is a valet parking sign in from of the hotel, but it doesn't apply to the restaurant. The door to the restaurant could be more visible. The service was acceptable, but not fine dining. The food is meant to impress, but it falls short. I had lamb chops and I was expecting flavor, like in Dearborn, Michigan, but it was lackluster. The steak, a Wet aged Ribeye was huge, but that's all, it just okay. The meal for two, was $180.00 which was not horrible, but it didn't feel like the food or service was working it. The location is nice, but the view is just of a busy city street, so it was just okay. Go and see for yourself, maybe my expectations were too high. I will say the bar area looked intriguing.

We wanted a rooftop girls night and decided to give Waving Girl a try since it's new. The hotel…read moreitself is very nice and the rooftop ambiance is good. Easy access to the elevator from the lobby to get to the rooftop. It's a smaller rooftop space and when we went on a Saturday evening (6:15pm, 3 people) it was self seating. They did a good job with the space for sure. Now for the actual experience....we sat ourselves as indicated and servers saw us choosing a table but it was about 15-20 min before anyone even approached our table and the server asked if we had been helped yet and when we said no, asked if we were ready to order. But we hadn't even been given a menu so we requested menus and waters as it was a warm day. She brought back one menu for the three of us and some lukewarm waters. Which fine it's water and we were thirsty. We ordered a round of drinks and four appetizer plates altogether. Drink wise we ordered a Harbor Rose, A Rosenbrook and a Peach of Mind. The Harbor Rose and Rosenbrook were excellent. The Peach of Mind was just okay. Food wise we ordered the Charcuterie Plate, Crispy Fries, Crispy Mozzarella and Whipped Goat Cheese Tartine. DO NOT ORDER THE CHARCUTERIE PLATE. For $26 we received a very sad looking plate of minimal cheese and bread. The picture is included. No preserves were included as the menu indicated, the bread was not toasted as indicated, no cornichons were included as indicated, it was definitely not a $26 plate at all. We asked our server about it when she came by to check and she sighed like she'd been hearing the same complaint multiple times. She did bring us some more cheese and bread to attempt to fix it but even then it was just dry cheese and bread. The crispy fries came out cold and not fresh like they'd been sitting out for a while and then under the heat lamp even though the cheese sauce was warm so I think they premade the fries and left them sitting out way too long to maintain freshness. We sent them back to the kitchen to be remade and when they came back the fries were fresh but the portion was smaller and the egg was cold so no real win there. The cheese and egg yolk did all the lifting flavor wise the fries didn't even seem salted. The crispy mozzarella wasn't terrible but again it had been sitting under the lamp ready to come out for too long so the cheese wasn't super melty anymore and was thick. It wasn't all the way cold and didn't taste terrible lukewarm so we didn't send it back, but if it had been at the proper temp it probably would have been fantastic as the breading was fresh and crispy and the sauce with it good and who doesn't love a giant mozzarella stick. The goat cheese Tartine was the standout of the starters, my only note would be that one huge piece of sourdough bread was hard to cut and share. Luckily being a cold dish we didn't have temp issues. The intent was to have a few rounds of drinks and food but after the first we decided to just continue our night elsewhere. When we ordered we clearly specified we were on separate checks and what belonged on each check. But when we asked for checks at the end of the night it was all on one. Not wanting to spend another 20 min waiting for it to be fixed we just asked her to split it evenly three ways on our cards and she acted like that was the biggest inconvenience ever. In summary, it's a beautiful space with good drinks and good bartenders but sadly lacking in good service and food delivery. Now they are new so they might still be figuring things out but there are definitely a few things to solve before I'd dine there again. I thought perhaps the kitchen was too far but no, there's a kitchen for the rooftop inside the space right across from the bar, so that wasn't it. If I were to return anytime soon, it would only be to sit at the bar and order a drink.
