If it were possible to rate Central Phoenix Eye Care (CPEC) 10 STARS, I most certainly would! I cannot say enough good about the attention and caring the staff at CPEC provided to my adult son recently. Sadly, my son has suffered with mental illness for the past 11 years; the illness rendered him homeless over the past two years, resulting to his landing in Phoenix. In June, my son contacted me and let me know he was receiving help for his illness. And, in late July, I had the opportunity to travel to out to Phoenix from Dallas, to see my him and make a best effort to get him some of the things he was in desperate need of. Since my son had been without his eyeglasses since January and since he has always had a very strong eyeglasses prescription, being effectively blind and only seeing blurry images beyond about eight inches in front of his face, that which he needed most was eyeglasses! Because my son's prescription is so strong and because of his apparent mental incapacity, I did not want to take him to a store like America's Best or Lenscrafters, because I believed he warranted an extra level of attention, to achieve the best possible outcome. Well, after a little bit of reading reviews on Yelp* and weighing all options, I decided to give CPEC a call. Since I was only going to be in Phoenix for three days, I was elated when I was told that CPEC had an available appointment the following day. My son and I arrived on-time and were promptly greeted and given the necessary "new patient" forms. While I filled out the forms for my son, he was called to be seen. I was graciously invited to accompany him during the process. The examination technician who saw my son, was friendly and communicative, and when it became necessary for the technician to physically force my son's head and eyeball to be on the exact point it needed to be, in order to achieve the correct imagery, she showed compassion and gentleness in both her tone and touch. Next, my son was examined by Dr. Kelsey Harraghy. Dr. Harraghy above all, was equally compassionate and thorough! She was patient and attentive and, made me feel that my son was in the best of care. Her tone was gentle and caring and her bedside manner impeccable! Dr. Harraghy not only showed sincerity in ensuring my son's prescription was as exact as possible, but she also went the extra mile to find a contacts prescription that would work to give my son eyesight, until his eyeglasses order was completed and ready for pickup. The impact of Dr. Harraghy's caring cannot be overstated and it became apparent when my son placed the contacts in - having his sight restored after seeing only blurry for the previous six plus months - and his countenance as he observed himself in the mirror changed to one of an almost angelic quality. He appeared genuinely childlike and mesmerized at his ability to once again see. Thank you, Dr. Harraghy!! We then sat down to place the order for my son's glasses. Everything was presented with patience and caring and in a very low-pressure manner. From beginning to end, start to finish, CPEC took excellent care to ensure my son was made to feel appreciated and genuinely cared for. I am sincerely grateful for the staff at CPEC for showing my son and I the very best of humanity and kindness. Thank you, CPEC Staff!! I cannot recommend CPEC highly enough. I made an appointment to see Dr. Frank two months ago. Apparently, he is only at this location once a week or month or something. I arrived five minutes before my appointment. I had completed all of their forms prior to today's visit. The front office staff was pleasant as was the technician who did all of the testing. My appointment was set for 2:00 p.m. At 2:20 I was informed that they were waiting for a room. I'm sorry, but if I have an appointment and at 2:20, I'm still waiting, you have a schedule problem. I was okay with that, as it's an eye appointment. In my experience I'm in and out in 20 minutes. My pre-screen took ten or so minutes. I then sat and waited for the Dr. Frank for 35 to 40 minutes. I finally got up and left as I had another appointment across town. Maybe they were having a "day". This was my initial appointment with this Dr. I will not be going back as I don't feel they care about my time. read more

Honestly, I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Jennifer Koster! She is an absolute joy to visit with and it's a shame that I only get to come here once a year for my annual eye exam. Dr. Koster is full of energy, easy to talk to and doesn't pressure you into getting any unnecessary products or procedures. I've been seeing Dr. Koster for three years now and even though I have moved away from this location I still travel the 20 miles to see her. I called Central Phoenix Eye Care and got a prompt appointment. Everything from scheduling and check in today was stellar. The tech doing the testing was exceptionally professional and thorough in explaining everything. And then for the exam with Dr. Harraghy, it exceeded my expectations. It is the first time I felt like an optometrist actually enjoyed their job. She was enthusiastic, and patient with the vision evaluation. This place doesn't care about their patients, just their money. Stay far away if you're looking for a provider that's compassionate. I called today to reorder contacts. Should've been a simple transaction. However, Megan at the front office told me that because my prescription expires next week she couldn't order a years supply for me. I explained that my prescription hasn't changed in years, which she fully acknowledged. I'm trying to reorder while my prescription is still active so I don't have to pay for vision coverage next year. It's an unnecessary expense that my family can't afford. This girl had no empathy for my situation and was one of the least helpful individuals I've ever dealt with at a medical practice. Pretty disappointed. I've been a patient here for many years. Apparently my visit from Oct 2021 was not covered by my insurance. They called me today for the first time telling me if I didn't pay the balance I would be sent to collections. Keep in mind this is my first time of hearing about the balance. She said they mailed 3 letters and "there might be an issue with the address." I've lived at the same address for years and never experienced any issues. They have mailed me contacts in the past and never any issues with the mail. I asked her why didn't they call me sooner. I would have quickly paid any balance due. She said they send the letters first then call. I asked why they wait 6 months to call. She said it was their process. They lost me and my family as patients. read more

I started asking around for recommendations and three of my coworkers had been going to Central Phoenix Eye Care for years. After my first appointment, it was apparent my coworkers hadn't let me down! Dr. Mastores is great and has a friendly demeanor. I fully trust her and the staff with my eye care. One of the things I appreciate most about this office is the technology they use. It's apparent they keep up with the times when it comes to their equipment, including their retinal imaging machine (great if you don't enjoy getting your eyes dilated). I have been a patient of Central Phoenix Eye Care for years and there's a reason for that...the doctors and office staff are amazing. Dr Frank was direct and extremely professional and talked over my exam results so I was able to follow up with my physician. Susan helped me find glasses 'right for me' after listening to my very specific needs and found me the perfect pair. She also adjusted a prior pair I'd purchased from there to be a more comfortable fit for me and replaced the nose pieces so they fit just right. I no longer live as close to their office location but will continue to drive to their office for their amazing service. I made an appointment and brought paperwork from my previous eye doctor. The ladies at the front were very friendly and welcoming. I saw Dr. Frank -- the exam was thorough and he patiently answered incessant questions from a Phoenix newbie. My new contacts arrived way earlier than I expected. The fist visit wasn't very pleasant. The receptionists ignored me while I was standing around the front desk for a few minutes. When leaving they did not give me clear instructions about my follow up check in for my contacts. My husband said I was just being picky when I told him what happened. I mean, he should know I am a picky person and a spoiled brat sometimes. I initially wrote a 3 stars survey review when the clinic sent me an email survey. I went back for the second visit prepared to be disappointed. I got a very warm greeting when I walked in. The doctor cleared up all my issues and made sure I understood the process completely. I walked out with a happy face and happy heart. They did not make a great first impression, however after going in to refit my contacts, they made up for it and I am very pleased now.
