This wasn't just great customer service. This was the kind of experience that reminds you what it feels like to be truly valued as a customer. I walked into the children's side looking for my 3-year-old daughter's very first pair of glasses and was immediately greeted by Kimberly. From the very beginning, she was absolutely phenomenal. Instead of pointing us toward a wall of frames and leaving us to figure it out, she had my daughter and me sit down together and personally brought over different styles, shapes, and colors for her to try. She took the time to explain how children's glasses should fit, what to look for, and all the little details I never even knew mattered. Her knowledge, patience, and genuine care were incredible. She never once made us feel rushed. She kept bringing frames until we found the PERFECT pair for my daughter. She thoroughly explained the warranty, gave us a realistic timeline of approximately two weeks, and even handed me her business card so I could reach her if anything came up. THAT is what exceptional customer service looks like. And somehow, the experience only got better. When my daughter needed to use the restroom, Kimberly walked us over to the adult side of the store, where we met the owner, Maureen. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this woman. She welcomed my two little girls, my mother, and me as though we were longtime friends walking into her home. She shared the story of how she started her business, took a genuine interest in our family, and made us feel so incredibly comfortable and welcome. Meanwhile, Steven began helping my mother look at glasses. The VERY FIRST pair he selected for her was an absolute home run. My mom said she had never found a pair of glasses she loved so much in her life. She loved them so much that she purchased them on the spot! We ended up spending another 20-30 minutes just talking with Maureen, Kimberly, and Steven. Not because we needed anything else, but because these were genuinely some of the kindest, warmest, most compassionate people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. What stood out to me most was that not a single person made us feel like we were just another sale. They cared about finding the right glasses, making sure my daughter was comfortable, and ensuring we felt completely confident in our choices. THIS is why supporting small businesses matters. My 1 year old son needed glasses and Kim gave me such valuable and retainable information for pediatric glasses and the whole process of repairing and replacing what might come up with kids his age. Steven the main guy in there is very disrespectful, pushy, and his customer service is absolutely terrible. He's a bully and hurls threats and loves to argue with the customer. You should be able to go in there as a paying customer mind you, and get all your worries and concerns out-of-the-way free of hassle. He's very good at harassing customers if you question him regarding customer service and things you may have purchased or are about to purchase. I hate wearing glasses. Truly. I just get them oily and have never had a comfortable pair. They always slip down my nose. So I primarily wear contacts. But, I truly needed a functional backup pair and started hunting around. I knew I'd be paying more for this pair since I've graduated now to progressive lenses. I didn't want to go back to Walmart or Costco or Target, because those glasses still cost a pretty penny and have never been a great fit. The last pair I got from Walmart a couple of years ago, no change in prescription, makes me woozy. Eyemagination had such great reviews here, I decided to check it out. And the instant I walked through the door, I was filled with confidence that this was the place. I was welcomed by Maureen and Stephen right away. After introductions and a nice chat, Eyemagination started to feel like an old-fashioned salon or barbershop, where you've been coming for years and it feels like family. I didn't realize what goes into a proper glasses fitting because, I guess I've never had one! You get your face measured. You get your dominant eye checked, spacing, all angles and nose bridge noted. They have gadgets. It's the closest thing you'll find to choosing the right wand from Ollivanders. I'm pretty sure my glasses chose me. The technicians are part artist, part clinician, part engineer and part designer. I was helped by Maureen, the lovely, twinkly-eyed, warm shop owner. Stephen also joined in, and was sharp, attentive, caring and impressive. The two make an excellent team and they found me a frame I would actually enjoy wearing. When I returned a week or so later to pick up the glasses and get a final fitting, both Maureen and another lovely lady whose name I am forgetting helped adjust things perfectly. Maureen really wants the glasses to fit and feel comfortable and watches you like a hawk to make sure you are truly happy with your selection. My prescription was challenging but she nailed it. My mom's sunglasses look fantastic and I'm sure her regular glasses will too when they're ready. The frame selection was super, even for the lower-priced options. Skip the zoo at Costco, Walmart or Target and swing over to this local business that has been knocking it out of the park for several decades. They are so warm and welcoming, you'll walk away wishing you needed a pair every year just to visit for the company and lovely conversation. Glasses are always made well and started going there in 1996 when my son was a toddler who needed glasses and we have not gone to any other eye glass store since. Even after moving out of state I pleaded with Maureen to just send me a frame since I couldn't get back and nobody ever fits me the way she does. Maureen and Stephen are very knowledgeable and they take the time to help you find the right fit and the look that you are after. They offer honest feedback about what shape, size and color of frames works best (or doesn't work) on your face. I wear progressives and Stephen told me about a better grade of lens that helps to eliminate the distortion around the sides. I went with that and he was right! I heard about this place from complimenting someone while I was working on their frames and they told me I had to go here so I went right after getting off work that day since I have been looking to get new prescription sunglasses and they were so right about this being the place to go! They have so many unique and cool styles, they really are art! And Maureen and Stephen were a delight! Super knowledgeable and friendly and I talked to Stephen about all the beautiful wire wrapped crystal jewelry he makes that's also in store. I love the sunglasses I went home with and now I'm going to need to go back for all my future frames. I came to this store to look for quality sunglass frames for a prescription, and lenses as well. Almost as soon as I walked in the door, I was warmly greeted by Maureen, as Stephen was with another customer. She asked me what I was looking for, and as she flitted about the small store packed full of many frames to choose from, we discussed my preferences while she picked out frames for me to try on. It was fun, but also disappointing that some of the frames I liked wouldn't fit with my Rx. But I really appreciated that she gave me feedback on what would work with my Rx and what would or would not look good on my face. Later, Stephen was free and helped out as well. In the end, I was almost going to buy a pair, but Stephen's honesty in discovering that my current sunglasses were polarized (he thought they were not) made me rethink my order, and adding polarization wound up putting it above my price range. However, I would highly recommend Eye-magination for personal, caring service second-to-none, an excellent selection of frames, and access to either external or in-house lens makers. The only ding I have is on value: I realize personal service and more boutique frames cost more, but the whole package became too expensive. If your eyeware needs are less demanding, the pricing should work out better. read more
