I have come multiple times to this location. I moved to another city and still drove to Mesa to come to this one. That was because the people that were here seemed to want to help. Today it didn't feel that way. I asked about some glasses and instead of saying something like "let me look up his account " he kept telling me he didn't remember having those lens, like it'd be making this up. I took my prescription and left. It wasn't just this one mister; even when I walked in the receptionist wasn't very welcoming. The vibe wasn't the same as before. The only nice part and the reason they get 3 starts and not 1 or 2 is cuz the actual doctor was nice and chill. I won't be coming all the way to Mesa anymore though. read more

Likely the last time I go here to purchase prescription glasses. I took both my girls for an appointment and it took 1.5 hours even though we arrived early because they forgot one of kids wasn't seen the eye doctor and they had others go ahead of us. Then I took over two weeks to get the glasses and I was not notified until I called in. I was told both glasses were still in process and that they would have it FedEx in a couple days. I went in again to pick up the glasses 3 days later and they only had one pair. Both my kids have an astigmatism and needs glasses. They told me it was showing on their end it was in process and they checked for the missing pair and mentioned it wasn't there. The staff said she would make a call the next day because the other place was closed and get back to me. I received no calls or updates. I checked again the following Monday (3 weeks later) and the staff told me he saw that the glasses were delivered together and it showed on the FedEx tracking. Many of the staff seems disorganized and I have not had transparency or helpful communication. The guy David I talked to today gave me the most detailed information. Hoping he is able to resolve this. The Ophthalmologist was the most patient and thorough during the exam. And the guy who helped me purchase my glasses was helpful in pricing. Today was the first time at Pearl Vision and I couldn't be more pleased. I've been to several vision places over twenty years and the staff stood out from the rest. I was immediately greeted by a smiling team and checked in with no problems. Courtney did my pre-exam. She was knowledgeable and courteous, explaining the procedures. Dr Dennis conducted the exam. He was thorough and didn't make me feel rushed. He answered all my questions and offered more insight. Ryan assisted with a follow-up photo of my eyes for a future visit and he too was knowledgeable and courteous. Joseph (the manager) personally helped in picking glasses. I'm indecisive so his patience and friendliness was appreciated. Kevin did the purchase transaction and made sure I was aware of all my options and what would work best for my needs. It didn't feel like a pressured sale as I've felt at some other places. Another thing I noticed was how the staff interacted with other customers. They were jovial and made the place seem more like having tea with friends than waiting for an exam. There was a vast selection of high quality fashionable frames. Hands down better selection than previous places I've been to. I will definitely be returning to Pearl Vision and recommending them to friends, family and strangers online. read more

The front desk service isn't the friendliest and my first appointment was almost two after a after my scheduled appointment and they didn't seem to value my time much. This last time I went, I did get seen on schedule, but they did services and charged me without asking me if I would like to add them, which was a bit frustrating. Went here about 4 weeks ago and had an eye exam and picked out my frames. They overcharged me. I have tried multiple to have this rectified and I keep getting the run-around. Also found out that the second pair I was supposed to get got broke while trying to put the lens in the frame. No communication with the customer on why the delay. Then when I tried calling a third time was told they broke the lens and when I tried having my charges explained I again was given the run-around. I've been coming to this location for years. This year will be my last. I waited an hour for my appointment and I left the establishment injured! They have a boarded up door with these huge metal rods sticking out. The rod stabbed my thigh and left a huge bruise! I called the manager of the store and she never called me back. Terrible experience, Last time I got glasses here around 5 years ago I had a good experience, now I will not be returning. I had an appointment scheduled for 10/31 and 5:40 pm. I made this appointment online for an initial eye exam. They even send me a confirmation where I confirmed. At this day and time I show up and the entire office is closed even though the door says they are closed at 6. I was extremely confused and made sure I booked for the right office which I did. So I drove all the way from Downtown Phoenix for them to close with no note or explanation and they don't even have the courtesy to tell me it's cancelled for whatever reason this could have been a simple text call or email. After this I should have gave up on them but The next day I call to try to reschedule and make certain they will be there.. the person on the phone was extremely confused and told me to just come on. I said no because I need to schedule a time because I get off of work late and I want to make sure they are there then he told me they don't do appointments past 5. Why on Earth would i be allowed to book an eye exam at 5:40 then ?? When I asked him he was extremely confused and had no answer, There was no apology for Cancelling my appointment without notice, no attempt to rectify this or maybe squeeze me In, and I hear the worker whisper to someone else "it's the appointment from yesterday who came .. we obviously closed". The doctors and staff are top notch for customer service, communication, and knowing there s**t. The technology they use for the examinations and the recommendations for glasses always meet my expectations. I love that they always are going to see it through to the end when helping you choose products and services, and make it right to your satisfaction when what you got is not working for you. Even though I pass their competitor locations on the way to their shop, and they are priced a little higher than others, it's definitely worth the drive and prices. I tease that I'm their most favorite but most complicated customer because I'm picky and always calling for corrections, but they take care of me like I'm a VIP. I came here last year and Dr. Lewis was excellent. This time Dr. Vega Hernandez was fine, but seemed to rush me through the process. My main complaint is with their lens salesperson up front. I did not even get her name. I had polite, researched questions and she was very short and slightly patronizing towards me. My question was around frames and she did not encourage me to try them on (despite encouraging another woman) and was short with me on my questions around eye diameter. I have to go back for my contact lens appointment because they didn't have my new prescription in stock. But I am not sure I will come back here next year for my annual appointment. read more

My eye dr visit today was great! I've been a patient at this location for a few years and this was one of my best experiences there. The technician who ran the preliminary tests was very nice and friendly. The optomist was very kind, caring, and knowledgeable. The technician who helped me with my eye glasses and contacts purchase was great! Amy had a bubbly personality and considered what styles I liked and which would work best for my prescription. The whole team at this location is beyond fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and it is immediately obvious that they really care about their customers and take pride in their work. I was here on a busy Saturday and it was refreshing to see that many customers upon walking in were immediately greeted by name, which kind of made it feel like we're not in this huge city of nearly 5 million. This particular Saturday was "Beach Day" and all staff were in Hawaiian shirts, perhaps a positive way to deflect this uncomfortable heat we are all currently suffering through. I do not wear glasses, but have twice over the past 3 years been in this location with my SO to help pick frames. Both times the staff went above and beyond expectations and while I wasn't the customer it was memorable and I think deserves a post here for anyone who needs help in making a decision between this location and any other local competition. Last time, the fit wasn't quite right and the glasses has to be returned. This is annoying of course but the staff was gracious and corrected it as quickly as was possible. As you can imagine standing around to wait for eye appointments to happen when you're only there as fashion council can be honestly boring after you've reviewed in detail all the frames on both sides of the store to note favorites, and finished reading the top 100 posts on Reddit while checking to see if anything interesting is happening at the T-mobile store across the way (one poor guy was manning a booth outside the store in 110 degree heat) . While it was busy, and I wasn't even a customer, the staff was still chatting me up and I had a nice talk about eye-strain after I mentioned my work habits. Such nice people. I didn't expect to learn anything, so that was great. If and when I do need anything vision related I know exactly where I will go. The team here is wonderful. Totally kind of unrelated, but I can't NOT mention this - In the late 90s in upstate NY my High School 'party house' had a couch that was made from a discarded ~500 lb Pearle Vision building sign that friends found behind a strip mall that was being renovated. It took 3 guys hours to get it loaded into the back of a pick-up and dumped in the corner of a gaming basement where we all would sit on it every weekend and drink really bad cheap beer while listening to punk music. Disappointing and unfortunate experience here. The staff is friendly upon arrival, and the store has great brands and selections. The down side is that the staff is very inexperienced, having difficulty with the simple pre-exam tests, even poking machinery into the eye on accident. The substitute Doctor was rude and incompetent, asking questions in a manner that made no sense and made an uncomfortable situation unbearable. A rude doctor is no recipe for success. Horrible experience. My initial appointment took over 4 hours because they confused me with another patient that was there in the morning with the same first name. I was told both pair of glasses would arrive in 7-10 days. on day 10 I called and was told there was a miscommunication and glasses take 10-15 days. 3 days later I received a call that the first pair are in but not the sun glasses. The sun glasses didn't pass quality and needed to be redone. It has now been over a month. I called last week Thursday, and was told the sun glass shipped and should be in the office by Monday 7/22/19. Today is 7/25/19, I called and the sun glasses still haven't arrived and no one can tell my why. I keep getting different stories. DO NOT GO HERE, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. read more

Super disappointed with the customer service of this location. No where on their website do they list they fully shut down the office for lunch, nor do they leave any type of voicemail. They just put a note on the door that says be back shortly. So I had to wait in the parking lot in 110 degree weather. She took about 30 mins to explain my insurance benefits to me in a clear way and patiently answered all my questions. All the staff here are very nice too especially the supervisor. I recommend this franchise and this office. I've always used another popular company for my vision needs, but that company wasn't in my insurance's network. I had many choices, but Pearle was a company I recognized and felt I could trust. My instincts were correct. Pearle, wasn't as flashy as the other company, but service and selection were comparable. I like that they had an independent optometrist on site. I worked with a very professional salesperson, Gabby. Gabby was excellent with sales and I could tell she loves her job. She knew just what I was looking for and it took little time for frame and lens selection. She offered a free second pair of lenses with the frame purchase. Pearle has Essilor products, Crizal (anti-reflective) , Transitions (for light sensitivity) and Varilux(progressive lens). I have Presbyopia, so all 3 technologies will help greatly, especially night vision. I knew virtually nothing about these techs, but Gabby did and set me up well. Gabby also took care of insurance and billing. The technician and the optometrist were very good too. I elected for the high def retina scan which took several tries to obtain a good scan and the technician was very patient offering suggestions to get a good scan. The optometrist gave me good advice for the best lenses to correct my vision, in my case progressive. My glasses took just over 2 weeks to come in. Veronica was in the office to help with fitting and I had to rebill since I had HSA account I forgot about. Again, I found Veronica personable and helpful. I didn't need any adjustments, but Veronica suggested I stop back in a couple weeks if needed. Clearly, Pearle wants their patrons to be satisfied. Pearle offers 30 day complete satisfaction guarantee. This location offers the Pearle Eyewear Protection Plan which will cover 'protection for normal wear and tear, accidental damage from handling and protection from day one of purchase'. Dr Nappi has been awesome! I have done multiple eye exams and have gotten glasses sunglasses and contacts fitted with him. If he doesn't have a style of glasses or sunglasses I've wanted in the store he has quickly ordered them for me. He and his staff are very nice and professional. When I was out of town I had an issue with one of my eyes and saw another doctor that gave me a very wrong diagnosis. I got back into town and came to Dr Nappi and he figured it out immediately. Lately, I haven't had the best customer service at this location and I was unfortunate because I've been coming here for years, but today, my whole attitude has changed towards this location and Pearle Vision in general. I was dead set on not coming back anymore, until I called and spoke with the manager, Veronica. Not only did she apologize for what has happened, but she went out of her way to make sure I didn't leave unless I was satisfied AND before she left for the night, I got a phone call with her thanking me and made sure I left happy. Even though this location isn't convenient for me at all (in fact, it is about an 45 minute drive from my office), I have continued to see Dr. Nappi at this location for a few years now. I had previously seen Optometrists who didn't really listen to what I thought or ask me what I think of my prescription but he really does. Whenever my prescription changes, he has me try on a new pair of contacts (or a couple) and has me look outside before even leaving the office and then gives me a 2-week or month trial before writing out the prescription if I want. I see Dr. Nappi once a year and he is one of those doctors that really makes you feel like he cares and wants what is best for you. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

This is a nice clean store that's very helpful. I feel the Oakley section hasn't been updated since I got my last pair but at least they carry that brand. I gave 4 stars for the great help but my sunglasses did have an issue that I felt they should have noticed before I walked out with them. Lenses were cut wrong but after returning after a year (which I should have come in sooner) but they did take them back and not only replaced them they fixed my reading glasses too. Recently I went in, ordered contacts but didn't realize they were not the ones I use. I was so upset when she called and said they were in ( I knew they were going to be a lot of $$$$$ but it was too late and NOT their fault. Prices quoted prior to appointment, despite having provided all insurance information along with the exact type of eyewear needed, were not what was charged after the exam.....their reply is "you signed right here that you would cover any additional costs." One would expect an accurate price quote. The actual price for one item changed 3 times. Dr. seemed proficient and the business end of this practice was incompetent in numerous areas. read more

If friendly staff were the only selling point, Pearle Vision on Dobson Rd, in Mesa, would rate a higher score; friendly they are. However, we were there for glasses. We wanted our glasses to make our vision better. On that score they earned a 3/5 (we bought five pairs of glasses $1400). My wife loves her glasses (two pair), my son loves his glasses (1 pair), and my two pair were not right. They manufactured the bi-focals in the wrong direction, contrary to my specific directions. The manufacture and time to receipt sucked. They promised 7-14 days to receipt; the first pair of glasses were received after 17 days, the second pair were received after 21 days, and my wife's were almost a full month before she received hers. The wife loves hers, my son loves his, mine were not right. They asked me to try mine for two weeks before I made judgement... i tried, but they were just wrong, made my vision exceedingly confused. I requested to make the problem right. I had to talk straight to the manager. By that I mean, I had to stop her sales pitch talking, look her in the eye, and state exactly what I wanted. She did it. More than two and a half months later, I finally have glasses which correct my vision.
