I love when doctors offices get you in earlier than your appointment time! I saw Dr Young and she was so nice and efficient. When I was filling out the paperwork beforehand, there was a notice about a contact lens fee exam and so I was a little confused, I called the office for a little bit more information and she was so nice and helpful. There was also the acknowledgment of that extra test that costs $40 outside of your copay, I declined that and it was nice that they respected that and didn't ask me about it again during my appointment. Update: I wanted to update my review for Perfect Focus Eye Care. While I've had mixed experiences with the front desk in the past, I had an excellent experience with Serena recently--she was kind, professional, and really helpful. That interaction gave me a lot of hope for the future, and I truly appreciated it. The doctors have always been great, and thanks to Serena, I think I'll stay! I've been coming to Perfect Focus Eye Care for over three years. The doctors are excellent--professional, thorough, and I always feel well cared for. As for the front office, it's been a mixed experience. Certain staff are professional and kind, while others come across as rude, standoffish, or simply not very helpful. It makes each visit feel hit or miss, and I honestly don't prefer dealing with the front desk because of that. I do want to mention that the gentleman on the glasses side is consistently helpful and pleasant--he's definitely a bright spot. But overall, the inconsistency in staff interactions has me reconsidering whether I'll continue my care here. read more

Beware of this place. I called to make an appointment for myself and my husband with Dr. Hepner and let the person who answered my call know twice that my son referred us to her because she was such a wonderful doctor. This person asked me questions about myself and my husband for 30 minutes including the last four of my husband's social security number. She even took my husband's employer ID number. When I asked her what day, I could see doctor Hepner, her reply was, "She isn't taking new patients". I am dumbfounded at the unprofessionalism and to say I am just a little concerned at the information gathering, is an understatement. Be cautions. read more

I have been a patient here for 5 years now and I'm pretty happy with this place. They have a large selection of name brand frames. I have had a good experience with the doctors and with Gina. Gina has been so pleasant to work with. She's been helpful and patient with me when it came to picking out my glasses. I love that she is honest (not in a rude way) when it comes to what frames & colors looked good with your face... The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because when Gina was not available, I had to work with a tall thin guy and a dark-haired heavy-set lady that were not helpful not patient. I went in for my appointment on 12/20 and was told my appointment was 20 minutes earlier than my reminder appointment email that I had. I told the rude middle aged woman that it was suppose to be 8:40. She comes back at me in a rude manner going "NO IT WAS 8:20". She goes I mean with all your reschedules and your missed appointments I'm going to have to charge you a $25 dollar deposit. I go why? My copayment is not even that much. Why am I going to pay you more than what I need to pay you for an appointment. Then why do I need to wait to get that money back? She goes well you pay it or no appointment. So I left because that middle aged woman is not going to be rude and disrespectful to me. Period. It Christmas time and this women is just so unhappy. Put her in the back since she has no people skills. I have been coming here for a few years and to be completely honest she's always rude and mean for no reason. Because she is so unhappy with herself doesn't mean she need to spread the negativity. They also up charge everything to be able to take the most amount of money they can from the insurance overall just a rude money hungry eye doctor Then the owner responds to reviews and attacks and airs out items that was considered a HIPAA violation. Words alone cannot describe my experience with this office. I had my private number given out a few years by the on-staff optician Bob without my consent to one of his co-workers Dawn who was desperately looking for someone with opiod pills. She was told by Bob, my neighbor, that I had received a prescription for Oxycontin after a medical procedure and she called me from Perfect Focus offering to buy some, like I was a drug dealer! Dawn was subsequently fired for theft. While Bob was a very talented and friendly optician his replacement Peter lacks some of the necessary repair skills that Bob had. For example, he accidentally broke off the temple on my glasses as he was making a minor adjustment and they never fit right after that. And his demeanor is not as personable as Bob's was. After my last and final visit I was told by Gina, the office manager, that I was paid-in full. And then 4 months later I was suddenly bothered for $25 more! I was loyal to Perfect Focus for 15 years and even referred two people there including my mother. But I finally saw the light and have moved on. My advice is that you do the same. read more

Thanks to Perfect Focus I was able to have a doctor take a look at my red, itching, weeping eyes that had been bothering me for several days right over a holiday weekend. My own doctor couldn't see me but Dr. Hoeppner checked me over really well and was able to rule out several things that could've been causing the problem. There are several simple and powerful reasons why I continue to go back to Perfect Focus Eyecare, but it starts with a front desk staff that is always professional, courteous, and very informative; their store is clean and bright, with a very complete selection of eyewear. COVID-19 pandemic made my search for a repair service very difficult. I came across Perfect Focus Eyecare during my Internet search for a place that repairs eyeglasses, and in particular a shop that had expertise in "hard-to-repair" frames. Not only was David able to fix my damaged titanium frames, which four other places said was 'impossible', but I was able to pick up my glasses at the time David promised. I can't say enough good about his - and the entire Perfect Focus Eyecare team's -reliable work and customer service. David not only knows 'the craft' of repairing eyewear. . .but Perfect Focus Eyecare are rather reasonably priced. I had my eyes checked at this location once a few years back and my experience was mixed. The doctor who dilated my eyes and performed the exam was good but I found the sales staff of the floor to be a bit rude. I understand that dealing with a customer who has a specific need for eye ware can be a daunting task but I had wished things were better. I ended up getting a pair of Gucci frames and when I picked them up an adjustment was needed to get them level and fitting how I like. After what I perceived as the staff having more important things to tend to I took my frames to a different eye care center to get adjusted. With that said they do have a killer selection of RX sun and reading frames: standard brands like Ray Ban and Oakley but also some higher end stuff like the aforementioned Gucci. So if you want some bling this might be a good stop. read more

Terrible customer service. I went in for contacts, the exam itself went great but MAJOR lack of conveying care for contacts or even the basics on good practices for caring for your contacts. I was new to this location but thankfully not new to owning contacts (had I been new to contacts I would have been SOL) so typically I was prepared for some type of basic spiel on contact care and when to throw out your contacts but no I got none of that. After I was given my trial contacts after my exam. - I was not offered or given a travel size contact solution or case. - I was not told how long I should use each pair or even when I should throw them out after use. Which I feel is the bare minimum information I should have at least been given. - When picking up my contacts a few days later I was never asked if they were a good fit or if I needed to order a different brand. Would not recommend this location whatsoever read more

It was a nice and relatively quick experience. I love that I was able to book an appointment right away instead of having to wait two weeks like some other places. I had a pair of glasses repaired that I bought elsewhere. $25. to have a nose pad welded back on. Hours later I broke the other one off. I waited about 2 weeks before I got around to bringing them in. They repaired them for free this time. I also mentioned my back up pair of glasses and how I did not like them. They take medical insurance here! I called because my eye was irritating me a lot. They squeezed me in right away to get it checked out. They did a thorough exam to make sure nothing was in my eye or that it was scratched. The doctor was super nice and helpful. The staff was great. The place was very clean. We went in today about 1:40 pm. They close at 2 pm. There was an short haired Caucasian lady that didn't seem too friendly telling us they close at 2 pm. Okay. Thank you for telling us that. Nice way to greet us. Then, there were some dark haired women that checked us in and helped us with our VSP insurance. They were very friendly and didn't seemed concerned we were coming in near closing time. My husband quickly found a pair of glasses he liked, which were like a better version of my glasses for men. Then they directed us to Bob who was wonderful and helpful. My husband was looking for progressives. Anyway, after some discussion of what we wanted, we talked about how my husband has never worn glasses before and how he is a software engineer and is at the computer all the time. Bob did a great job listening and presented us with some newer technology for progressives that my husband might like better than what he had already presented us with. He broke down what our portion would be after insurance was applied and gave us various options and told us what each option meant. The total would be a little over $300. But then he told us about this other technology that came out about 5 months ago with progressives that my husband might like better. It turns out that would cost us now just a little over $200. We weren't totally worried about the price, rather about getting the right glasses to help my husband see things up close and for reading. The pair we got from Zenni Optical and online was totally unacceptable, which we ended up returning. Zenni Optical has awful customer service for when you have a problem and we shared that with Bob (well, not who the company was but just our experience with online when we had a problem, which is why we've chosen to go with a local glasses place that can help teach my husband how to effectively see through the progressives). Anyway, Bob went through a lot of stuff, being very thorough, yet succinct to explain things to us that we both could understand. We paid, left very happy. The glasses didn't cost as much as I thought they would and Bob will be there to help my husband out when he needs it. The glasses should be here 7-10 days, which is a lot quicker than the 2-3 weeks from online. There is a 90 day guaranteed satisfaction, which is what Bob told us, which is great. I will update this review after my husband gets his glasses and we go through the next thing, but so far, we are happy with this place. read more

I've been wearing contacts and glasses for about 15 years and I've never had all the tests explained to me so thoroughly and with such intelligence. Dr. Thimesch was fantastic, friendly, had great charisma and seemed genuinely interested in my well being as a patient. Gina and Bob were helpful when I was checking out frames. My only bugaboo was that the contact lens fitting cost wasn't disclosed until I was about to leave...hence 4 stars instead of 5. But otherwise a really good experience. read more

This place is shady! I contacted via email before my appointment for both eyeglasses and contacts and asked if there was any charge for the exam with my insurance, since I had new insurance. I was told via email there was no charge for the exam but the glasses and contacts themselves would be extra. Totally understandable. I arrived and am told now that the exam for eyeglasses is free but it will be $75-95 for my contact exam. I told them they said there was no charge. She found the note in the system, but said "Sorry the girl who told you that isn't here and I can't waive the charge." they said I could come back another day. I already had to miss work to get this appointment. I wasn't coming back another day. I got the exam, because I can't take more time off work. Never going back again! Buyer beware. read more

I have been going here for 5 years now and the staff is so sweet. There is one girl who is a little rude but Dr hoepner makes up for it. I only go once a year and I have been there when she first got married, then the next year she was pregnant, the next had her baby and so on. Even though we only see each other once a year we catch up like we've been friends for ever. They get you in and out fast. And have a good variety in prices and brands for glasses /contacts. This place is the best! Dr.Hoeppner is so great at what she does. She saved my daughters life! She was in for a routine eye exam and Dr. Hoeppner noticed swollen optic nerves. She made sure we understood what this meant and that she needed to be seen right away by her Dr. in the next day or so. My daughter ended up having a brain tumor and with in days she was in surgery for fluid on the brain. Thank you Dr Hoeppner for being so good at what you do. We will always be grateful!!! They go through doctors so fast here that you will lose your prescription if you don't order contacts or glasses day of visit. They are unwilling to help even in extenuating circumstances. For instance, I am dying and housebound but I have about six months left and only one week of contacts. I am less than 6 months over one year since my last visit. Most places allow contact lense prescriptions to be good for two years. I was just told they only do it for one year there (even though I lived in AZ for 5 years and this never happened before). They were very unsympathetic and completely unwilling to help even though I cannot get out of the house to get my eyes checked. I just wanted to make some videos for my 13 year old son to be able to watch after I die and I wanted to look halfway decent in them. Guess we don't even get to do that. The final reason I was given for them not being able to help was the doctor I saw is no longer there. I did go there for the 5 years I was living there and they go through doctors faster than anyplace I've ever seen. According to them, once the doctor leaves, so does your prescription verification. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. read more

I am a very difficult fit for glasses both medically and cosmetically. And I expect perfection. I am surprised to see such great reviews when my personal experience with this company was much to be expected. STAY AWAY! I brought them a prescription to them from my own eye doctor. I loved this pair of Ray Bans they had. I wear progressive lenses. When I got my finished pair, they had severely miscut the lenses. The reading portion of my progressive was set way too low. They insisted the prescription was accurate and lens was cut right. I took it back to my personal eye Dr. and she even said the lens was cut wrong. My reading area was a bare sliver at the bottom of the lens. I went back to Perfect Focus, just to have Bob argue with me that the cut was right. I walked out. Also, after having this pair of glasses for a while now, I have noticed that my UV coating is coming off in areas of both lenses. In the 40 years I have worn glasses, this has never happened. This place uses cheap materials and does not stand behind its work for their consumers. I will never purchase glasses from this company again. read more
