I freaking love this office!!! After two nightmare visits and, ridiculously, wrong prescriptions at other offices, Chandler Eyecare was recommended. These folks know their stuff!!!! Dialed in my VERY strong prescription and got my new glasses to me incredibly fast. I decided I needed progressive lenses instead, and they took care of it. I love my new glasses so much I just took them my old frames to get new lenses added to those, too. The staff is awesome, especially the ladies up front!!! Dr Keiser is my hero! I had an eye injury over Labor Day weekend. Visited the ER and was told there was a scratch on the eye but nothing else. Throughout the day, the pain was excruciating and I knew this was more than just a scratch. Being labor day weekend, I knew there were no eye doctors that were open. I left a message on the emergency line and Dr Keiser went above and beyond. She found I had something stuck in my upper lid that was continuously scratching my eye. She got it out, put a contact lens bandage on the eye and instant relief! I could not be more grateful to her and this office. I have recommended them over and over again since. This is our primary optical dispenser. We get all our glasses here. They accept EyeMed insurance, and they also have in-house deals. The men's selection of frames is much less than the women's, but that is typical just about everywhere you go. They are good about making your glasses, fitting them, and then if there are any issues, they have good follow-up. Free adjustments whenever you need them. They'll even put them in the ultrasonic bath for you. The also have an optometrist office on-site. We didn't use them this time, but we have in the past. Sorry to leave this review, I liked this place. But for only the second time in my life has an employee told me "If your not happy I can send you your spouses Information and you can find someone else." Straight from the office manager even though I was just wondering why our medical was billed and they did not even try to bill our vision for a procedure. We have the high tear of VSP and it covers special issues, and they do not even try to bill it they just assume VSP wont cover, they bill your medical and and make more money, they have been shady with some other charges not all but others. So interesting enough, I called my vision and medical for a second time this morning and the medical told me they do not agree with these practices and then even gave me the information on how to file a complaint with the AZ Medical Board. Me and my family of 6 will be finding a new place to go, I would not ever support an employee of mine telling a customer they can find another place to go, thats basic customer service 101. But to be fair I will say the doctors here are very nice and they do a good job and we have appreciated their efforts over the last few years. read more

5 stars all the way! This office has all the latest high tech equipment and I was VERY satisfied with my eye exam. Dr. Keiser was super professional and extremely nice. She explained everything she was going to do and explained the anatomy of the eye to me. They have this cool machine that takes a 270 degree photo of the eye and it allows the doctor to see everything. Insurance doesn't cover this and it costs $35 but it's worth every penny. The ladies in the front were super helpful with picking out glasses. I'm terrible at making decisions, especially when there are tons of options and this office has tons of frames to choose from, which is awesome. Anyway, I got all the help I needed and they were SUPER patient with me. I wound up buying two pairs of glasses and I can't wait to get them! read more

Place is extremely nice. Looks like as if it was just renovated. Everyone was super friendly and they have a wide variety of frames. Their computer system was having issues during my visit so they moved me to another room which was just as nice. They have top of the line equipment there. Dr. Keiser was extremely nice. She was very thorough with everything and made you feel she actually cares about your well being. I have a bad Stigmatism so she had me take another test to make sure there wasn't anything serious going on. She then explained to me what this test was and what they look for when doing it. I'm writing to share the extreme misdiagnosis that happened at Chandler Eyecare and encourage you to go elsewhere. When my baby was 3 months old I thought her eyes looked a bit cloudy. I took her to Chandler Eyecare based off their reviews. When my daughter's name was called an employee who worked on the framing floor rushed over to me and said 'here, I'll watch your baby during your appointment.' And she tried to take my baby from my arms. I said no the appointment is for the baby. I was really surprised...why would she try to take my baby from my arms and why would I leave my baby with a stranger? Anyway, the doctor, Megan Van Over looks at my baby and says, 'well the good thing is she's not blind.' She continued to say she had cataracts in both eyes and potentially a tumor behind one eye. I felt like the wind was knocked out of me. She said I need to get into a pediatric surgeon ASAP and she will personally call and send a referral. I spent the next week waiting for my appointment with the surgeon, planning and researching how to support my 3 month old through this major surgery. We go to ABC Eyecare Specialist and meet with the surgeon. They dilate her eyes and take a look. She called in another doctor to look. Then says to me, 'your daughter's eyes are completely healthy...I called in another doctor to look because we are trying to figure out why that other doctor would come up with cataracts or a tumor.' They continued to say they're mind was blown and they even apologized for the mistake the other doctor made. I called Chandler Eyecare to make a complaint about Megan Van Over and the manager requested I send over the medical records from the pediatric surgeon. I said look at your own records from Megan who said she had a tumor...and I'm telling you she doesn't have a tumor. He was very defensive and not in the least bit concerned that Megan Van Over made such a serious mistake. On a side note, Megan used some profanity and even called some eye surgeons 'dicks'. So not only is she incompetent as an eye doctor she is also incredibly unprofessional. Megan - it might be time to consider another career. Other professionals in your field are concerned about your ability to do your job. You created an anxious and painful situation for a baby and family. What you did was not okay, it was dangerous. read more

I had some glasses made here and they prescribed a pair of glasses that increased the distance view, but made everything in front of me blurry. I specifically told them I am always in front of a computer and they now tell me that I need to take off my glasses to read things closely. Oh, the other option was I had to buy another pair of glasses to see closer. Really? So you are charging me twice to but two pair of glasses to see close and far? I want to be able to see both. My old glasses did this, what couldn't these new ones do? I will never come here again!!! read more

I went to Chandler Eyecare last year. The doctor and staff was professional and friendly. However, I've never been able to use my glasses. I went in several times for adjustments but thought maybe the prescription was too strong because I couldn't see clearly through my lens which are transitions lens. So I bought glasses somewhere else because I could never get them right after several returns visits for adjustments. Later, I read that transition lens can become "crazed". Today I took them back to see if they could fix the issue. The first thing the optician did was accuse me of leaving them in the car. I explained I came when they were at lunch so I did my grocery shopping at Safeway and returned. The optician told me my glasses were outside of warranty. I'm very frustrated by this whole situation. I am a nurse. I work long hours at the hospital and have difficult time getting to the business when they are open. I understand they are outside of warranty it's a bummer to buy an expensive pair of glasses that were never right. read more

I'm very pleased. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit of a rocky start. I had some trouble with the original script and had difficulty finding a frame that didn't bother my nose. But Sherry, the office manager, was exceptionally helpful. She went out of her way to make sure I would get the right frames and lenses. Most recently, my lenses broke while I was out of the country. I contacted her and she was able to arrange a replacement that was still covered under warranty. Through it all, I tried so many different frames and lenses (these were my first progressives) that overall my business was probably a net loss to them. Still, Sherry maintained her professionalism and eagerness to help the entire time. I highly recommend going to Chandler Eyecare if you want to work with someone who really has your best interest in mind. read more

If you think about it, vision is probably the most important of the five senses and I recently came to understand how easily it can fade away. What started with a magnifying glass and ended with unsuccessful cataract surgery for my octogenarian father made me realize the importance of regular exams, so I made an appointment with Chandler Eyecare after reading their reviews. I had trouble describing the reason my glasses were problematic but Dr. Keiser pinpointed the problem right away based on the results of my exam and lens Rx. The exam was extensive and seemed less scary, which I can't explain except for the overall good vibe of the people and place and the way they walk you through every step, patiently. Even their equipment seems friendly. They also have wonderful frames but there is absolutely no sales pressure, just people who know what they're doing. I'm having my own frame fitted with new lenses and they suggested I do the one pair before having my sunglasses redone to make sure they work for me. Right? Chandler Eyecare was referred to me off the Facebook group Living Chandler. I came in before making an appointment to be sure they had styles and brands I like. I am very picky about how frames fit my face being that it is wide and I'm a girl who loves designer brands. They had no problem allowing me to take my sweet time trying on a large amount of frames and even ordered me some in. I ended up scheduling an appointment. The appointment was quick, I was in an out pretty fast. I also thought it was nice that they had a machine to use rather than needed to dilate my eyes which is an inconvenience when trying to pick out frames and driving home. I ended up with two pairs of frames. One Fendi pair I fell in love with on my first visit and another pair of Calvin Klein's that they ordered for me. It took less than a week for them to be ready for pickup which was nice. read more

Very happy with our visit today! Hands down the best experience I've ever had at an eye appointment. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Love that we were able to be seen as a couple and the exam itself was so very thorough. Today we saw Jennifer Keiser, O.D. and she was amazing! I have been going here just one year. The office is clean and the staff friendly. I got Dr Carpenter for my eye exam and had my kids with me. To my surprise, there was a box of toys under the bench right in the exam room so my toddler could be distracted and not a nuisance! They also had a big TV and kids' movies in the waiting room so the kids wouldn't be bored while I picked out glasses. They have some cheaper frames and lots of designer frames, plus sunglasses. They also have teen and kids frames. It took about 2 weeks to get my glasses. Everyone was helpful and seemed to enjoy working there and get along with eachother. The only bad things: I arrived on time and had to wait a while for my appointment. Then, they did not give or even offer me a written prescription for glasses. Maybe because I bought the glasses there? But other offices I have used gave me one, anyway. So, I thought it was unusual and frankly a bit cagey that they did this. The good far outweighed the bad, so they still get 5 stars, but i wanted to mention it, anyway. I just went back to order another cheaper pair of glasses from them and they gave me a good discount because it was within 6 mos of ordering my last pair. I got my written Rx this time :) The opticians helped me figure out how I could get what I needed the cheapest way possible, so love the personal touch they gave on that. They do have some Saturday hours; one day a week they open early and one day they stay open a little later. I called and there was no appts for over a week. I asked the kind receptionist, Rachel, to put me on a wait list. She called me back in 10 minutes with an opening at noon that day! I knew that was a sign! I was so stressed out and upset about my vision and extremely nervous. Dr. Van Over was so kind, and explained everything to me, showed me the prisms, explained what my issue was, and was really terrific. Then, when it was time to order my lenses, Nancy was wonderful! Kind, and also explained everything she was doing and how it all worked! I can't say enough about how awful I felt when I went in to how relieved and grateful I was when I walked out. Their offices are state of the art...they have this camera that a quick flash replaces those awful drops that make you fuzzy! It was just a great experience and I can't recommend them enough! Pros & cons: Pros: The eye doctor was great, and I had no problems getting the glasses. Cons: When I purchased lenses for my other glasses, they wanted me to sign a contact stating that I'd be responsible for my glasses if they broken them in the process of fitting my new lenses AFTER I PAID FOR THEM. I refused to sign it and got my money back. It's a scam because they try to slip that contact in after you pay hoping you won't see it. Also, she told me that if my glasses break, they would "help" find other glasses, meaning you have to pay for their frames at a "discount". Also Con for some: The prices were average. Most eye glasses are overpriced. After all, glasses are just plastic and metal, so they should not be $200+. Luxottica is a company that monopolized glasses, so prices are going to be high. I had insurance, so this was not a factor for me. read more

I am one of those people with the whole "don't come near my eyes, don't touch them, don't put drops in, no I wont cooprerate" kind of people. Just a thing with me ever since I was a kid. These guys were great. Office staff was great. The gentlemen who scheduled my appointment was awesome, the lady who greeted me was awesome and everyone was so friendly. I saw Dr. Van Over and she was friendly, patient and completely understood by anxiety and did not make me feel bad about it at all. I know I am an adult, just the unknown makes me anxious and she made me feel comfortable and we were even able to laugh about things. She didn't pressure me into doing anything I didnt want to do. Only recommendation I do have, is the first initial 3 eye tests you do before you see the doctor, there needs to be a little more explaining on what's going to happen (especailly the eye pressure test which i hate). The machine is automated, and I didn't know that. Usually a little warning is nice, but explain that it is automated and there is no contorl so then I can expect it and work with it. Other than that, I had a blast. Got a killer new pair of glasses, had fun picking them out and I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
