They messed up my appointment time and wouldn't honor the original time. Time to find a new eye doctor.

Glasses are such a huge part of my personality, so I would like to extend my apologies for being an Aries when I had made it to my appointment, lol. I was two years over due and lucky me - my vision improved (a little bit) but that means I could get new glasses! The staff was AMAZING. They were all amazingly friendly, fun, and do not waste your time. I absolutely adore Dr. Wyman, her personality is always warm and welcoming and she really makes you feel like she remembers you! When I had to choose my new friends, the associate was very helpful. I let them know I am looking for FUN FUNKY and COLORFUL. AND BOY, did they have some very cool frames. I have been going to Dr Jacqueline Wyman for 25+ years, as she has always been affiliated with Dr Pearson and Dr Akers. She provides excellent care in optometry and is top notch in her field. She cares so much about each of her patients and it shows as she prescribes very carefully both eye glasses and contact lenses with precise prescriptions. She monitors closely the health of her patients' eyes and makes sound recommendations as she educates us as well. The Staff are all professional and courteous and promptly update patients when lenses/glasses are ready for pickup. It is a well-run Eye Care Center, and a fun and upbeat environment! I have never met a better Doctor than Dr. Hagestrom! She is sharp, honest, and incredibly friendly. I've been a long-time patient of the place, the last few with her. I have complicated issues with my eyes, including double vision and more recently, cataracts. In consultation with her, I went to a top-notch eye surgery place for cataract and double vision surgery (changing to monovision). Along the way, I talked to her on the phone on several occasions for (about an hour total) regarding concerns about complicated issues regarding my future vision and glasses. She was super nice, answered all my questions, and wouldn't even charge me for the time! What doctor does that, these days! I began going to this eye doctor for my annual checkup in 2021. I don't wear glasses and I'm fortunate enough to not need them. Since I am the policy holder for my family, I have coverage for them and go for an annual checkup due to this. My bill was $49 on top of insurance. This is ridiculous. When questioning the cost I'm told $39 was for an x ray, which makes no sense to be doing this if insurance doesn't cover it and I have no vision problems or concerns. In addition, $10 for the remaining costs of the visit. Paying $49 for a visit of a basic checkup is steep, especially including things that are not needed. I'll be finding a new eye doctor. Be careful going here. read more

DON'T COME HERE!!!!!Myself and my family went in for standard eye exams and unexpectedly were charged extra 39.00 each for retina scan. First me and my two boys went and were charged 117 on top of co pay. Then my husband went today and was charged extra 39 on top of co-pay. Because of open enrollment I was aware the exam should not have been 50. So I called this time. They charged us extra for the retina scan and never thought it would be a good idea to let us know there was an extra fee for the scan. I don't know about you but I don't have money to throw away unexpectedly. I don't even need glasses. This is upsetting and thought others should know. read more

Go here is you want to throw your money in the garbage, no follow up, no customer service, just awful. My wife's glasses fit terribly, she doesn't want to go back to even have them looked at, hundreds of dollars wasted. Even when they have tried to make things right, they fail... they are just stringing you along until you just give up, and unfortunately for me is why I had to write this review. Such a great team of humans! So kind, helpful & personable. I'll enthusiastically come back here for eye care, exams, etc. Really impressed with my first time coming to this place. Didn't end up choosing to do some of the extras like contact fitting, special fancy machines for more in-depth scans or etc but my standard eye exam for my yearly prescription update was above any standard expectations. I've been to many eye care places & definitely suggest this one due to the people. I didn't have time to look through their glasses selections but it looked like they had a nice selection of frames & styles here as well. read more

all was great but they didn't have the XXL frames I needed. After one of the staff member couldn't find me a pair even online she told me I can find one and let them know and they can order it for me and applied my insurance benefits. I forwarded them the information I found and the frames I wanted. the frames were only $169 and I have $140 paid by insurance and a 20% off remaining balance. after we talked and the lenses and other options she told me the frames were like $380. with my insurance it will bring it to $140. they sure jacked their prices up and try to retrieve their cost/profit. Not an honest way to do business and I wonder if the doctors know about their staffing robbing clients. read more

Ever since it became Akers Pearson the quality of service has gone down pretty bad. I don't think Dr Akers is aware how the staff treats it's patients. It is not the same anymore. The last straw for me was that it took a WHOLE month to get my glasses. I called 2 weeks after to see if my glasses were there and was told no. Then I stopped 2 weeks later only to be told they texted me to let me know but I don't have any notifications or calls. My glasses were pretty expensive. Next time I'd rather order them from somewhere else. Dr Akers is awesome but the staff is horrible and seriously lacks customer service skills. read more

I enjoy going to have an eye exam every year, Dr Wyman is the best. She has been the reason I keep coming back for about 4 years or maybe longer, she explains things thoroughly and is passionate about your eyes. Dr Wyman has moved locations and I would follow her any where, she makes you feel like family when your in her chair. Went to them when they were at LensCrafters and they were great! The selection at their current office leaves a lot to be desired. They explained that they are just now getting more in their selection. However, I did settle on a pair of Oakley Men's frames since the women's selection was not very good. I was told 7 to 10 business days. I waited until the 15th business day and called them asking where my glasses were. They had to go to the back to check. They tried to tell me that they called me, however, I have no calls or text on my phone records indicating they did. I think someone dropped the ball or was being lazy. Funny thing is about an hour after I called them and talked to an actual person who says they are ready and not voicemail, I get a call from them saying they are ready again. I went in that day. Only 2 people in the office(on the glasses side) and no customers but me. I get my glasses and was finishing up. They were around $500 for the pair. The next thing out of the clerks lips is "I'm sorry, but your glasses don't come with a case." and hands me a eyeglasses sock. This is the first time in 32 years of wearing glasses that I walked out of the building without a CASE for my brand new glasses!!! The frames alone are $300. I did call Oakley and ask. They have a shortage. However, even when I've gotten glasses in the past the business always gave me a case. I think that is GOOD business. Unfortunately, this IS NOT a GOOD business. Go at your own risk. I even asked about the warranty on my existing glasses. They made no arrangements with Lenscrafters to work with their old client's on warranties. Also, BAD business. Really unhappy with service on purchasing eye care. Eyecare professional who had reviewed insurance for eye glasses did a horrible job in recommended eyeglasses and cost. She was probably working on commission. Well order based on recommendation. Ending up costing more than was told. Took a number of months to be notified of the balance due. My suggestion is to Check with the insurance company benefits first and not take any recommendations to save yourself money and hassle. Oh glasses are not worth the money paid for them. read more

I was miserable with an eye injury (corneal foreign body). I called this place and I was told usually they have a Dr. on call however this time he/she was out of town. They were able to get me in the next morning. I saw Dr. Hagstrom and she was fantastic! Not only did she fix me up she was very easy to talk to and ask questions of. She was very informative and I didn't receive a lecture on safety glasses (this injury was my fault) it was never even mentioned, which I was fully expecting but didn't need to hear. So impressed with this place and Dr. Hagstrom turned a miserable experience into a pleasant one. Awesome place!! read more

I have been going to this Pearson for several years. It used to be in Fiesta Mall. New location is great and very modern. I only go to Dr. Wyman she is so funny and so smart. I won't see anyone else there. this location is a bit further for me but I couldn't imagine going any where else. The technology at their office appears to be high tech. Front desk staff are okay but the techs are efficient and friendly. Also a plus is they are attached a to Lens Crafter. read more

I woke on Saturday morning at 7 with extreme pain in my eye. Being an out of state snow bird, I searched google for eye emergency and found Dr.Akers. Having no more than google reviews to go on I called the office and left my number. Within 5 min Dr. Akers called back and said to come in when they opened at 8. I did and was seen immediately. Dr. Wyman treated me for a corneal abrasion and I walked out pain free. Thank you so much for the swift response and treatment. I've been having a problem with my left eye for a couple of weeks. My ophthalmologist was closed due to the Coronavirus so I was glad to learn Pearson handles eye emergencies. I was able to get an appointment quickly and was assured they were taking precautions for the virus, including hand sanitizer, masks, etc. I was the only patient there and was taken in right away. The optometrist was very professional and answered all my questions. She wore a mask and I was very pleased to see plexiglass between her and me when she was using the machine to examine my eye. Very well done. However, although she was very friendly and seemed to do her job well, I was disappointed that the tech/receptionist--who used two different machines to check my eye pressure and to do something else before I saw the optometrist--didn't wear a mask at all. There was no plexiglass between us, although the machines were quite large. I did have a mask on, and I think based on CDC recommendations anybody working with the public during this pandemic should wear a mask, especially when working with the elderly. That said, I recommend Pearson Eye Care. Next time I'll speak up more if I have to go during a pandemic. read more

Doctors Pearson and Wyman have had patients coming to see them for decades! They really take care of you here and thoroughly explain everything that is going on with your eyes. The staff is easy to work with. They will walk you through the rebate process for different items, and they quickly resolve issues, such as when your contacts are not working for you and you need to switch brands. The new location on Stapley is more accessible and significantly nicer than the previous Fiesta Mall location. I'm happy that they were able to make this transition! read more

I messaged this company on a Sunday evening after realizing I had a piece of metal stuck in my eye. Within a very short amount of time they replied and advised me to go to urgent care but said that if I still wanted to come in Monday they would be happy to help. They even gave me a price range as I have no insurance so I knew what to expect. When I arrived Dr Hagstrom helped me and was extremely friendly and nice and helped me to get the metal out of my eye. Not only were tneg professional and friendly but it ended up costing less than the price range they had originally given. I would highly recommend this place for anyone needing eye care. They are very organize, friendly and I felt they genuinely wanted to help me instead if gouging me for money. Thank you so much Dr Hagstrom and your staff! Had my appointment ordered my glasses almost $460 some change Was told they would take maybe a week or two at the end of the second week I called spoke to them and found out they'd been there since last week on the 16th go there glasses were placed on my face I could not see, everything was blurry MIND you I read a computer screen for over 10 hours was advised I should wear them for 2 weeks. I explained how would that be possible and do my job when I asked for refund it was done. But here is my concern, is the prescription correct. They told to go get a second opinion since I was was unwilling to follow Akers protocol of wearing them for two weeks. I requested a call back but was told I wouldn't be getting one. I was caught in a dust storm on 8-2-18. I wear gas permeable (hard contacts). Oh the pain...after suffering for nearly 3 weeks I finally went to Dr. Akers for help. My corneas were so scratched, he had to try several different things to heal my eyes. I got new lenses, and am so grateful for the expertise of Dr. Akers and the shear patience of his staff. They never gave up on me. I am happy to say I wore my new lenses all day today without any issues.
