    NO! Wrong! Nononono, no!

Three times (3)!! They've sent me/sold me the WRONG thing! And they don't CARE. The latest, some overly gung-ho (hard to blame him, the rude, lazy, family management, parks themselves at desks, directly across and facing the register, but ask THEM a question and you get attitude, repeated looks of incredulous annoyance and answers whose only purpose is to get you out of their cashier sightline. As if they want to send anyone besides conventioneers and architects of their own custom-built gamer towers with 256 RAM , an animation studio attached, and gold and diamond USB ports...anyway, I tell dude I need 'an adapter, something unusual, well, to me unfamiliar, a USB TO SAT.. Something?' He says 'OH YEAH! I knowIknowIknow. I just wanted him to tell me where, roughly, it was. Stay at your post Sparky, take a breath. So he heads out on the floor, grabs a small box and pushes it at me. I assume he knows, he seemed sure, eager, confident, competent......so I paid and left. He NEVER asked what I was doing or what I was working with. He sold me a "uDrive Adapter USB-A 5Gbps to SATA", assuming, I suppose, I was inquiring about a laptop compatible device. I was not, in fact, I told him exactly what make and model I was using. The world's most basic machine; a DELL OPTIPLEX FFS! A desktop. Standing with the front door open on my way out I said 'Joel, or 'JEREMY', or whatever fancy pants name was, 'So, this is it right? This is all I need?'. He was already grinding his teeth and super-helping the conventioneer eyeballing the glass case. So, next time its best buy Amazon fuckin Target, anywhere but those creeps down there on Howard. Oh, and they better not charge me more when I'm there tomorrow at 8:50 am. I want the right item for the lower price. You betcha.

They had a big selection of switches for mechanical keyboards including lots of silent switches and two huge tester boards. Nice and helpful staff too.

Wanted to leave positive feedback for Rick. Over the years he's built me multiple desktop systems and they exceeded my expectations each and every time. His knowledge, turn around time, and even the price for hour labor here is awesome. Even the due diligence to cable management and maximizing all USB ports is there! This may sound hyperbolic, but what you get vs what you pay for is awesome... maybe the most reasonable in the entire city of San Francisco in terms of hourly rate & value. My absolute favorite thing about him is that there's no agenda to sell you overpriced elements to a build that other little in terms of a mechanical return. No upsell on liquid cooling, or even an attempt to layer more sticks of RAM into your tower. If you ask him a straight question, he will give you an honest answer. IMHO, this is exceedingly rare with service professionals who seem to relish adding unnecessary expensive parts onto all projects. Thanks for everything central computer, I have yet to have a bad experience in all these years. Cheers!

Good inventory, poor service. If you know what you need already, save a trip and get it from Amazon.

In an industry where equipment is expensive and there are countless places to buy online, having someone you trust is invaluable. Musclis has always treated me fairly, given me competitive pricing, and most importantly, has been there long after the sale is made. Over the years I've purchased everything from DJ gear to professional sound systems, lighting, and production equipment. Most recently he helped me build out a JBL SRX system, and every time I have a question, need support, or run into an issue, he's always willing to help. That's becoming rare these days. What separates Musclis from most salespeople is that he genuinely cares about his customers and their businesses. He doesn't just try to sell you something. He takes the time to understand your needs, recommends solutions that make sense, and stands behind what he sells. When I've had equipment issues, warranty questions, or needed technical guidance, he's always stepped up and taken care of me. As the owner of JustINtertainment and Blackline Production, I rely heavily on my equipment to perform at weddings, corporate events, festivals, and large-scale productions. Downtime isn't an option. Knowing I can pick up the phone and call Musclis gives me confidence that I'm supported by someone who actually understands the business and wants his clients to succeed. There are plenty of places to buy gear. There are very few people you can build a decade-long business relationship with and trust completely. Musclis is one of those people. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and committed to taking care of customers, I couldn't recommend Musclis and World of Stereo more highly. Five stars all day long.

The staff is usually helpful, and turnaround times are pretty quick. However, my last experience was really disappointing. I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.

A Pivotal Reframing of Camera Zone…read more Before you drop your review based on how fast the checkout felt or how "old school" the vibe is, pause and widen your aperture. Most of us are used to the instant-gratification feed--tap, swipe, next thing, dopamine hit. This place doesn't run on that algorithm. It runs on something slower, heavier, and way more intentional. This shop is a **contact print** pulled from a single negative that's been developing for over forty years. A Filipino family crossed the ocean by boat with almost nothing, living on rice and chicken while they built this from the ground up in Chinatown. That early scarcity wasn't cute poverty cosplay--it was the actual base exposure. Every choice you see now (the mix of film and digital, the real knowledge behind the counter, the gallery wall that isn't just background for selfies) carries the grain of that struggle. You're not walking into a retail space optimized for 2026 attention spans. You're standing inside a long-exposure photograph that's still being made. The generational gap you might feel isn't an accident or a flaw. A lot of us (Gen Z and Alpha especially) expect the world to feel like a perfectly lit, color-graded TikTok--seamless, fast, no friction. This spot moves at the pace of someone who still shoots film and has to wait for the scan. When the service feels deliberate instead of lightning-fast, that's not bad UX. That's someone actually "dodging and burning" your experience in real time--giving you the light where it matters instead of blasting the whole frame with the same generic brightness. The knowledge here isn't pulled from a database. It's passed down, like someone teaching you how to read the negative instead of just handing you the final JPEG. So if you're writing a review, try opening the depth of field a little wider. See the full tonal range instead of just the highlights and shadows that annoyed you in the moment. This isn't a store that's failing to keep up with ,"the NOW". It's a print that was composed with patience across four decades and is still holding its density. Review it like you're looking at the actual image, not just the thumbnail preview. -A gen y/z 'hobbyist'photographer
