Ok I don't reviews for service techs a lot... but Printer Assist was so good I want to praise them for their excellence today. Did my research n called every printer repair service in the Bay. Only they called me back right away and set up an appt right away. (Everyone else got back or sent the quote days later.) My tech was so kind, professional, fast n happened to have the part I needed. The service diagnosis, repair and install were fair and exactly what they quoted. Felt so trustworthy. Do ur research first and compare if a tech visit and parts are worth fixing vs a new machine. I was a little stressed about that but it was totally worth keeping my solid old machine in good shape. Highest recommendation for Printer Assist. They earned this review. Thanks guys! read more

If you want printer service, you must call Goby from the Palo Alto branch of Printer Assist. He is incredibly knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed my problem as being a bad cartridge, although the symptoms really had me thinking the problem was elsewhere. I've never used a printer repair company before, but we really need our printers now that we so often work at home. They came out within 24hours and took time to work through all the challenges and fix the printer that needed it and demonstrated that the other was fine. Our company has used their service several times in the past year. Service is a bit expensive ($125/hr as of July 2016), but they get the job done. Their on-site serviceman is quite skilled. We haven't yet hit anything he couldn't solve.I don't think any of their employees are native English-speakers, but I don't have any trouble understanding them. The price is a bit expensive, but I suppose fixing a $3K printer is a lot cheaper than buying a new one. My only only complaint was that the first time I contacted them, they dropped the ball on communications. I received almost no email communications and no warning when the serviceman just showed up unexpectedly. The next several times were all fine, so I consider that a one-off. read more

These guys are really great! I was calling around to find someone who can do "house calls" to repair a broken printer in our office. Printer Assist was able to price match another competitor and came quickly to the rescue. The systems engineer they sent was super knowledgeable with years and years of experience and went right to work to fix the issue. April 21st was the first time that we used Printer Assist. We have a Dell that had some type of hidden paper jam. I called Printer Assist and she was going to schedule someone for the next day. About 1 hour later, a technician called me to say that he'd be out that day. He came out and fixed the problem within 15 minutes. I was very pleased with the service from Printer Assist. I have a Canon IPF755 large format printer that needed a printhead replaced. Goby, the technician was able to come out the same day I called, and quickly replace the new printhead I had purchased. I would use them again, and they are much quicker and knowledgeable about large printers than the competition. read more

Avoid at all cost! We called under the assumption that it's a Berkeley-SF company, given the 510 area code. A service person arrived from the South Bay, where the company is located for real. The inflated commute charge was not discussed with us beforehand, but was billed to us. His manner was hurried, rude and patronizing. He complained that he would rather go to an office building and serve 10 printers at a time rather than go to our home and deal with one printer. The company advertised serving private homes and offices. On top of the driving time, we were charged $85 additional above the sum agreed upon when placing the service call. He was to install the printer so that it prints via USB and wi-fi with one current laptop. The installation lasted for the duration of his visit. It then stopped working shortly thereafter. He wouldn't allow us to do an independent check of it while he was in our home, using bullying language to intimidate us. We then found out that the high cost service was not warrantied. We're still disputing the inflated charge with American Express. read more

Not only did I get two emails back for my online quote inquiry for a plotter repair, but the field technician called as well. He was able to give me information about my error, how long it would probably take, and a fairly accurate estimate for the part. I challenge any other company to have such amazing service! read more

I called to find out if they carry toner cartridges in stock. Sales person who answered the phone said yes. When I asked if she could look up a particular toner type, she said they'd have to order it and ship it the next day. That's not what "IN STOCK" means. read more

Service was excellent. When I called to get service they arrived the same day to replace the scanning sensor and other parts that were causing problems! The employees are also very nice and knowledgable - they save the hassle of trying to order parts on your own, and then figure out how to fit them in the confusing inside of the printer. Based on my first attempt and Yelp Reviews, this is the only company that I would have my HP Laser Jet Printer fixed. The service tech was friendly, called me several times to update me on the time he would arrive, made recommendations and suggestions to operate and run my printer both short and long term. We regularly rely on Printer Assist for what is almost always a last minute or unscheduled repair or issue. They are FANTASTIC. Our office is often beyond capacity with clients and kids and pets everywhere - the folks at Printer Assist just cruise in, take care of the issue, and are usually gone before I realize they were there at all. The pricing is very fair, especially for how much we all rely on that print functionality. I don't know why we or any other company would go with anyone but these guys for printer issues. Just can't beat the service, quality of work or price. We really appreciate their work and how much we can rely on our printers as a result. read more

I first contacted them on November 11th for a printer with noise issues and a broken part on one of the back doors. The tech did a quick fix with some packing tape and said he would order a part. Great initiative, and he did ask if I still wanted the part. I said yes, we wanted to order the part but I would need a quote or estimate first to get approval for the payment. On December 9th I sent an email asking for an update, and they responded the same day that they would be checking on the parts status for an update. No followup email... On January 2nd, I sent another email asking for an update. It takes a few days to get a response with any data; on January 7th I'm told the parts will be in later this week. Hey, we're only 2 months into this right? After that time, I thought maybe it was emailing that was the problem, so started calling. There were a few calls in between, including one where I FINALLY got the estimate (for the part they already ordered and had in hand) but it finally came down to a call on January 15th; where I'm explaining that my office will be closing at 2pm on Friday the 16th, and that would be the busiest day I've ever experienced at my job. This means that I needed to know EXACTLY when the technician would be arriving so I could be on site to meet him. When I got off the phone, all 5 of the coworkers in my area started laughing; because I was obviously frustrated and tired of repeating myself on the phone. Ex: Tomorrow before 2pm. No, No, BEFORE 2pm. Tomorrow. Yes. Friday the 16th. As long as its before 2pm. It has to be BEFORE 2pm. No, 4pm will not work. It has to be BEFORE 2pm. And can you please remember to confirm the time, I must know EXACTLY what time he will be here in order for me to meet him. At 5:45 I get this in email: "We will visit your place tomorrow morning." The tech showed up at 8am. Great, points to the tech for getting there early...except I don't come to work until 9am. tl;dr: It took 66 days to get our printer fixed with something better than tape. One star given for the tech who put in a temporary fix. read more
