Downtown San Francisco has blocks and blocks of different businesses. It's hard to find lots of businesses in SF which had its start within the 1800's ( not the address number but the years of the 1800's) in San Francisco. My childhood apartment in San Francisco in the Mission was my backyard and shared the same backyard with the Elixir ( one of oldest bar in San Francisco established in 1858) .When it comes to the years of technology companies which have been in business for over 20 years it seems more like 20 dog years which is the equivalent to 100 human years. There a few businesses which are over 100 years old in San Francisco and fewer that are over 150 years old in human years. There is a family owned business in San Francisco which started over 150 years ago and still exists on Market street and it's called Patrick & Co. Walking down Market street the vibe of downtown San Francisco is a blend of vintage and modern with a mix of the future. Walking past the See's Candies and The Paris Baguette and inside Patrick & Co., you will see lots of office supplies . You will also find many fun items like calendars , cards , journals, stationaries, and interesting books. You will also see anything from Hello Kitty bags to stickers of animated animals and food. This is a good place to pick up some original design greeting cards along with the pens and markers. This place is over 150 years old in San Francisco and the business feels timeless. Plus, they typically have unique gift items and they overall have a feeling of times when people were people. This particular Patrick & Co. location was an absolute treat to browse through. Items that took us down memory lane. Gifts for people in our lives. And organizational tools that we didn't know we needed until we came upon them. Prices might be higher than a big box store but not overly expensive. Some of the merchandise was priced in-line with what I've seen elsewhere. It was a delightful time strolling through the aisles. If we lived in San Francisco, and nearby, I'd be a regular customer.
