Seriously, I do not understand the four or five star reviews. Their service is unacceptable with borderline illegal billing practices to say the least. We are still getting over billed every month. Last month our company was over billed by more than $500! I am not kidding. It has taken six weeks to resolve this matter...somewhat. Unacceptable is all I have to say about it. We were given every excuse in the book. We had to trade out the prior printer last summer because it did not function properly as promised. The machine would fail to pull documents in when trying to print copies, in return, print blank pages while the original document still sits in the feeder. Yet, we would be billed for each blank sheet that was spit out. It was suppose to print envelopes, etc, but never did. It was suppose to scan, but only did so in black and white. That made no sense at all. They tried screwing us over, telling us that if they switch out the printer, it will restart the three year contract. Definitely did not let that happen, considering their product did not work as promised. We are being billed for incoming faxes although they are programmed to go directly to the server and not print. I have told them this over and over and they fail to understand or even want to deal with the issue. I have told them to come to our office and see for themselves. To this day, no luck. We have had the replacement printer for almost one year now and their excuse why we were over billed more than $500 last month was because of the prior printer. That makes no sense at all. We needed a new ink cartridge this week. They mail the cartridge to us and send us a bill for shipping. You would think with everything we have gone through with this company and as much as we pay monthly and this being the first time in two years we replaced the ink, the shipping would be included. I do have to say the sales rep is very nice and the service guy too, but unfortunately that doesn't cut it. We are at wits end with their business practices and will be sending them a final complaint in writing soon. Chances are we will have to take legal action against them should our letter fail to generate an appropriate response. read more

Our sales representative promised a lot to us, but nothing that wasn't out of the ordinary, just made us think we would get great service, promised that someone could be out within 4 hours if it was an emergency, blah blah blah. The usual time to send someone out is 1 1/2 days. He told us the Kiyocera was "green" and made with only 5 main components vs 20 on the other machines, so there would be far less break downs. I found out from a Konika Minolta rep, that they don't even sell new Konika Minolta's, if we would have gone w/a Canon or Konika Minolta, they would have had to go out and buy a used one to sell to us. They're basically a Kiyocera dealer and claim to be a Konika Minolta dealer and i was also told and not surprised that the Kiyocera is one of the cheapest and poorly performing copy machines. I can't believe we fell for the foreign, "green" statements. Our sales rep completely ignores me now because I had to go to his boss to get a problem solved after he was ignoring my phone calls, voice mails, etc. read more

We were looking for a multipurpose machine for our small but extremely busy orthotic and prosthetic company and I was referred to Alex Wen at KBA docusys by a larger company that said they didn't handle small business accounts. I called Alex and told him of our needs and he came out that afternoon to drop off information and talk with me about what we needed. I didn't feel pushed or coerced in to a decision and it actually took a couple months for us to make up our mind. In that time, Alex did not hound me to make a sale and waited patiently until I called him. When we did call and tell him we were ready to jump, he again, was here at my office that afternoon with the paperwork needed. We signed the contract and had the machine less than a week later. The technician that came out to install, was helpful as well and helped us set up our network properly and Alex was here to oversee and teach me how to use our new copier/fax/scanner to enhance our business.. Over the 3 months of having our new machine we have needed assistance with minor functions and each time I just call Alex's cell phone and he picks right up and either answers my questions or comes by within a couple hours to show me how to do whatever I'm needing to do. The Kyocera we chose has been great and I couldn't ask for better hands-on service. Thanks again Alex!! read more

I have been working with this company for more years than I care to say. Our rep Alex Wen is the most consciousness and helpful professional I can imagine. The equipment is reliable and cost effective. After having purchased other copy machines which broke down at inopportune times, I am so glad we found Alex. He helped us choose the right machines for our needs, and get the best contract. The maintenance guy is excellent too. Very responsive. We now have 4 Kyocera machines in our office. No need to change. Thank you Alex. read more

Daniel Kim at KBA set our law firm up with a fantastic Kyocera copier that scans, bills to multiple accounts and does a dozen other things. The copier is still going strong 5 years later with no problems. In the meantime, Daniel has provided excellent service. He even found a way to save us money on our service contract! KBA also set my wife up with enough copiers to serve a large foreign language program at Mills College in Oakland. It was a huge job, but they got it done quickly and everything has been working fine for the last four years. read more

Alex Wen at KBA has been extremely helpful in keeping my printer/scanner/copy machine, and business, running while keeping costs down. My printer stopped working one day bringing my business to a halt. Alex dropped everything and sat on the phone with me for an hour until my problem was fixed. I can't imagine receiving this kind of service anywhere else. read more

We are very happy with our salesperson, Stefan Brandes, of KBA. He is the reason we trust KBA and its products. He sold us a wonderful color copier and is very knowledgeable. He responds quickly to emails and genuinely cares how he is perceived and his level of service. He is a quality person and KBA is lucky to have him. If you need a new copier, ask for Stefan Brandes! The service is great and the technical team fantastic. Great company. read more

The customer service at KBA Docusys Inc. has been horrendous. Requested information for a buyout on a contract that was long overdue and KBA Docusys Inc. continued to bill rather than send the buyout information. It took countless phone calls and emails to finally receive the buyout information after about five months. After the final buyout payment was sent, KBA Docusys still tried to send another invoice. Beware of companies that do not provide customer service! read more

Alex Wen is an old school account executive. He treats you like you're his own client. He is responsive, friendly, and knowledgable. It's a true pleasure doing business with him. read more

I'm writing this review due to the great customer service Alex Wen provided. We had to temporarily terminate our maintenance agreement since we're working remotely. There was confusion with the process on my first attempt when I called into KBA Docusys. After realizing it wasn't cancelled, I called back and was directed to speak to Alex Wen, our sale rep. I was very impressed with his professionalism and friendliness. He made me feel assured that he will be able to take care of it and to resolve any problems that might come up with the billing. Soon after our phone conversation, I got a follow up email from him confirming the maintenance agreement has been cancelled. Great customer service is so important especially during these times. read more

Allison Ward is INCREDIBLE. She is knowledgeable, genuinely helpful and delivers EXCELLENT customer service. Every single time. She helped us find the right printer for us and made the whole process easy and smooth - leaving nothing out. KBA is GREAT- we've been with you for YEARS! Thank you for wonderful and quick service and thank you SO MUCH for Allison Ward. read more

After years using the 'free' printer that one gets with a computer purchase, I bit the bullet and with Alex Wen's help found a copier/fax/printer (has scanning too using a thumb-drive) more expensive than I was planning to buy, but between the hugely increased speed (by a factor of about 10 for some large jobs I needed to do) and the savings by not having to go to a copy shop for the 100 plus copies jobs, I seem to at least be breaking even and have increased efficiency and convenience. Alex's service and advice have been top notch. read more

I was looking for some dependable but not too expensive equipment for my wife's business. I found Monte to be very knowledgable and helpful. We were given plaenty of time to consider different options. In the end we got the copier that was just right for us. We are very happy. read more

I have been using Alex Wen of KB Docusys for many years. He is professional and courteous and even stops by occasionally just to see how our machines our doing. I currently have 3 multi-function copiers at my place of business which Alex helped me purchase. All function beautifully and I am paying much lower prices than I was with a previous vendor thanks to Alex. As with any mechanical equipment, service calls are sometimes necessary but I have to say that KB Docusys has been accommodating and prompt in both scheduling and completing repairs. All in all, I couldn't be happier. read more

I have a small, document-intensive business. Alex Wen of KBA Docusys is a true professional. I explained to Alex what my printing needs were and he provided several alternatives, including a printer that I could test for a week to make sure it fit my needs. He translates a customer's needs into the right product and with the multitude of office machines on the market, this is a great service and time saver. Alex followed-up in person to make sure the equipment was working as promised. Alex advised me on the purchase of an HP color laser printer as well as a multi-function B and W laser machine. Note: He recommended a mutli-function machine that suited my needs, even though he didn't sell it and made no money on the transaction - a mark of professionalism. Anyone can whine about slow service, but when it comes to selecting the office equipment that will make or break your business, I always opt for trusting an expert. read more

My review is for Alex Wen at KBA Docusys. I first met Alex as he was the managed print services rep. for an important client of ours. From our first interactions, it was apparent that Alex was the special kind of professional that I really like to work with. He came across as knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant to interact with and always followed through on what was discussed. I'm happy to report that years later, it's still the same A+ experience every time! Alex has been in the printing equipment and managed print services space for a really long time and he knows more about the equipment and supplies and is more polished in his service delivery than anyone I have met and as an IT company, we've worked with many of his competitors. Alex is absolutely my go-to resource for all printing questions and when we have a client that needs help in this arena, Alex is on my speed dial. Thank you for taking such good care of us and our clients throughout the years. read more

We run a small, 3 person law firm. I have worked with Alex Wen since I started here in May, 2008 since he was providing service on our Kyocera printer. The printer is a workhorse and the level of service that we have received from Alex is beyond reproach. He has expedited an overhaul for us and always exceeds my expectations. Service matters and Alex has repeatedly demonstrated that he understands just how much it matters. read more

KBA goes above and beyond for their clients. The entire team in the Financial District office are helpful, attentive and pretty fun too. Whenever there is a problem with our printer a tech is sent out within the day and the problem is fixed. We've used KBA for over a year now and still receive the same great service as we did on day 1. Highly recommend this team to service your company's printing needs. read more

Alex Wen takes great care of my office. He got us the perfect machine and takes care of any bumps we encounter. He is super friendly and attentive and takes pride in doing good work and taking care of his customers. read more

I have been practicing law for almost thirty years and am a wanna-be geek - always trying to get the latest, best, fastest device to make my practice more efficient as well as having fun doing so. I was referred to Alex Wen by my long time IT consultant and I am glad I called Alex. Alex came in looked at my current Toshiba multifunctional copier and recommended a Kyocera multifunctional copier to replace it. The Kyocera is faster, more reliable - and best cheaper than the Toshiba. I read some of the other reviews and I cannot square the negative reviews with my experience. Alex drops by my office to see how the machine is working and if there is anything that I need. So I wholeheartedly recommend Alex Wen and KBA Docusys for all of your office needs. read more

We've been using KBA since 2007 and have been working with Alex even longer. They have provided excellent customer service throughout our relationship. Our office recently suffered rain damage after a large storm and our copier was destroyed as a result. KBA got us a new machine quickly and at a great price. We were back up and running in short order. read more

Jeff Chang was a professional from the proposal to installation. His office and staff were personable and responded to my inquiries quickly. The telling point of any great vendor is how they treat you once the sale is made. Six months into our new office space and I have nothing but praise for Jeff and KBA Docusys. Most telling is that he still responds to my question just as quickly as he did before our firm signed on the dotted line. I have high expectations and as a law firm administrator, the attorneys and staff depend on me to pick the best equipment and negotiate the best price. I can be high maintenance and I'm sure I was not the easiest customer, but Jeff stuck with me , but in the end, the process of leasing the right copier was done flawlessly. He has stuck with me every step of the way. read more

Leasing a copier has saved us a bunch of time and money. Before Leasing, any time there was a copier problem it would be a source of frustration and waist a lot of time and resources. We would feel like those guys in the movie ' Office Space'. Now we just call KBA and forget about it. read more

Great Service, VERY responsive, I was having some networking issues, not able to print and called in service and the rep. showed up within two hours and resolved my issue. In the end it was my computer having the problem but he took the time to fix it. read more

We bought a new Kyrocera printer/scanner/copier from KBA. Our old one (which we bought from Alex) had 250,000 copies on it and was getting a little tired. The new copier does far more than the old one and is therefore a little more complicated. The office staff was grumbling about why did we have to buy a new copier. I told Alex about the complaints. He came back and spent a considerable amount of time instructing our staff about the features of the new copier. Everyone is happy now (at least they're not complaining to me). read more

Since posting, I've heard from the sales representative who wanted to resolve issues that I was unhappy about and did so for the most part. The copier has worked extremely well for the year we've owned it. Maintenance issues have been promptly resolved. In Sept 2010 I opted to renew my maintenance agreement, with some minor modifications, which KBA agreed to all terms. Bottom line, KBA has turned this customer around and made me a very happy camper! read more

Another 5 stars for Alex Wen. He recently provided us with a scanner for a project we had, to scan 3x5 cards. I mentioned to him in, passing, that we were having a problem scanning multiple cards but we could live with it. On his own initiative he called the factory and talked to them and then called me and told me who to call for tech help. I called and the factory tech stepped me through a procedure to fix the problem. I do not receive service like this very often. We have also bought a large format printer and a do everything scanner/printer/copier from Alex in the past and had the same great service. read more

Need a copier for your business, I highly suggest calling Monte Jensen. He is professional and great to work with. He helped us find the right copier for our business and pointed out that spending more for a machine with more options was not in our best financial interest. He was great! read more

KBA Docusys is hands-down the worst office vendor I have worked with in fifteen years of office administration. Everything is wrong with this account. They are unable to manage billing and meter reads correctly. Service call management has been inconsistent at best. Do not use this company. Things are so bad, I've had my attorney review the contract to help us get out of it. If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. read more

I work at a financial services firm and have had great relationship with KBA. Our sales rep, Alex Wen, and our firm have worked together for over 10 years. (he used to work at another copier company) We love the copier that Alex sold us and have only done regular maintenance, with no other problems. Also, Alex went above and beyond to help network all of our computers so that we could use some additonal features of the copier that we didn't even know was possible. I would definitely recommend KBA to anyone in need of a copier or printer. read more

Alex Wen is the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to customer service! He's hands on and makes it happen. We needed to cut our costs being a small boutique and when the request was made to transition from a larger copier, Alex didn't wince; he practically gave us what we wanted ... the 406ci, and we now receive our emailed pdfs already text searchable! I can't say enough about our experience with KBA but Kudos is definitely in order. read more

if there were a way to give a minus rating, i would these folks are simply derelict in servicing their machines (at least our machine) - they take a lot of money and it seems like many times they come out, something stops working very shortly thereafter - they are incompetent in my opinion keeping the machines working with Macs (in terms of wireless scanning - they couldn't make it work and required a third party consultant to do what they said they would do; and in terms of wireless printing to the machine which stopped working properly after their last visit) also the last service call was placed days ago (for something they purportedly just fixed recently beforehand) and they still haven't come to fix the machine's basic functioning not acceptable read more

My company has used KBA for a couple years now, expanding from 1 printer machine onsite to now 7. They have been extremely helpful in all aspects of answers questions, service, repairs, and anything else you can think of. Highly recommend using them if you are in the market for a large scale business machine printer. read more

Alex Wen provides rockstar service! With so many companies available to lease equipment from, KBA is in a league of their own with great customer service! They are responsive, efficient and believe in the customer, which is nice considering the alternative. We have leased a Cannon copier from them, and to date (1.5 years so far) have had no issues. They did not try to upsell us or get us to commit to a machine that we don't need, and seemed interested in getting the right fit for our organization. Thanks Alex and the KBA staff! read more

We have been working with Daniel Kim and KBA for the past 3 years and now have almost all of our equipment purchased and leased through them. They have provided us with everything from a small personal fax to multiple high-volume copiers. We are very happy with KBA and Daniel! read more

I too am disappointed with Jim Graf, the owner, having done business with him for over 20 years, and now getting the "well it was never a lease, but always a rental". After three years of good service and no machine problems from their Union City headquarters, I can't seem to get Jim Graf to acknowledge the equipment was supposed to be a lease purchase with a $1 buyout, the way we have purchased all of our equipment for the past 35 years. They sold the contract to a service firm in Denver who bill us monthly, and now after 3 years, I am still being billed $350 per month, and the Denver firm claims they are going to sue us. We wrote Jim Graf in early November (end of our 36 months) regarding our "$1 buyout". Jim has stopped by twice, but still his attention to detail lacks substantially, and there is no resolution. The Denver firm says we will have now to pay five more months on this machine and they will continue billing for rental. This machine should have already been "mine" after the 36th payment. No, I won't do business with Jim again. I have been betrayed. The "yelp" reviews seem to say confirm how KBA does business. It's too bad to loose a friend over this, but beware to anyone doing business with Jim's outfit. read more
