Celadon has become the family get-together spot in Napa. The food is always good. The service is always good. When we want to celebrate a holiday (Mother's Day, Easter, etc.) in the wine country, this is where we go. The folks at Celadon know how to make special days special. Our Mom and my sister had a wonderful day with great good (see pics) and a special mention to our server. Apologies, I did not catch the young man's name, but he wore glasses. We were in the corner near one of those heaters. He was particularly patient with us as even something as simple has taking our drink order can be an exercise in patience. While in Napa, Hubby had wanted to go to a restaurant with a waterfront view for his birthday. I was looking around and found Celadon. I made reservations the morning of after double checking with Hubby if this place is good. Making reservation was super easy and I was glad that there was openings for us to book. Upon arriving, we were greeted and I told them that we had a reservation. They looked me up and took us to our table. Because I stated on the reservation that this was for a birthday, they even had a card for him. We looked at the menu and decided what we wanted to eat. The staff was nothing but kind and helpful to us and we really appreciate the great atmosphere. We ordered their Sweet Coconut Fried Prawns, Pan Roasted Boneless Half Chicken, Pappardelle Pasta with chicken, and the Truffle-Parmesan Fries. Everything was amazing! It was honestly so hard to choose what entrée we wanted to eat as they all sounded soo yummy! I usually have a difficult time when eating pesto at some places, but here I had no problems at all, which I am grateful for because I LOVE pesto. We loved everything that we had ordered and if we come back to Napa and come to Celadon, we will most definitely be trying something different on their menu! Our second visit to Celadon was just as good as our first, pre pandemic. The outdoor dining area is wonderful, and we found the service and food to be great. The host and server knew we were celebrating our anniversary and they provided a special menu and even a card, a very nice touch! Cocktails here are delicious and portions are quite large. We were seated right by the fireplace, which looked like something out of a hobbits' home in Lord of the Rings. We got an anniversary card, our menus were printed to wish us a happy anniversary, and we also got celebratory champagne. Appetizers: Calamari This was so crispy and delicious! Main courses: Chicken Loved how juicy the meat was! I also loved how savory and plump the bed of gnocchi the chicken sat on was Filet Mignon The steak was juicy and tender, and we had it medium-rare. The green beans were seasoned very well Dessert: Lemon Meringue I'm not a fan of creams, but the cream atop the main lemon part was so fluffy and indulgent. I loved the lemon meringue part as well, in its delicious crust. For drinks, I got A Bloody Good Thyme, which consisted of maker's mark bourbon, blood orange bitters, brandy cherry, and thyme syrup. My boyfriend got a small bottle of Moscato. Since he was driving and couldn't drink it all, they bagged it up for him so that he could bring it home. Dinner was so lovely! The arch is beautiful in person, so much greenery; I wasn't expecting the outdoor seating to be under this arch and that this arch was a pathway to other restaurants, so people kept walking past. Went with my elderly mother who also eats plant based and was told on the phone multiple options were available. My mistake was not looking at current menu online. Had the perfect end to a birthday dinner here! The location and restaurant itself is very beautiful with lots of natural lighting. The service was pretty quick since we got there at 5 pm right when they opened for dinner. We got the calamari and lettuce cups to start. Both were fine, but I'd pass next time. For entrees, we got the risotto, pork chop, and sticky ribs. The risotto was the star of the night for me and the girls. Dessert was banana creme brulee, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. The beautiful high-vaulted courtyard patio with barnyard/industrial-chic exposed brick and a fully glass side is so cozy and quaint. A gem tucked away in the mill in downtown Napa. Didn't require a reservation to be seated right away for Sunday brunch a little past noon. The basil hollandaise was so fresh and yummy and gave my dish a very fun, unique, green eggs and ham feel. I think this may have been the largest portion of eggs Benedict I have ever received- incredibly filling. If there was any drawback it was the potatoes on the side were a little dry I wish they were a little smaller and softer, with more of that crispy skin goodness in every bite. I also tried a bit of the braised pork hash and that was absolutely delicious, fall off the bone juicy meat perfectly cooked. Prior to wine tasting in Napa, we went to Celadon for brunch to celebrate a birthday. After entering through a cute flower filled tunnel entrance, we were seated inside in front of the fireplace. The industrial chic look is due to its history as a feed mill. Service was good though it seemed like the bus boy was our waiter, with limited description of specials. We started with the coconut shrimp appetizer which came on a bed of lettuce. Really tasty and crunchy. I had the chiliquiles which was a big portion but the chips were soggy. One star removed as it must have sat around for a bit. Others had biscuits and gravy, the day's special omelette, and the asian glazed ribs. They were happy with their meal though noted they were lukewarm. We ended with bread pudding and banana creme brûlée which were both very good, with bread pudding my favorite as served with ice cream. I found this place on Open Table when I was looking for a brunch spot to celebrate Father's Day. After parking in the big lot, we walked over to Celadon and realized we had never been on the side street it was on. Then you turn into this little walk way with a floral archway to enter the restaurant. The walkway was nice and we loved the vibe of the restaurant. We were surprised we hadn't noticed it before. We ordered drinks after the server came by and my son's Chocolate Chip Pancakes so he could start first. Unfortunately, his pancakes went to another table by mistake and he ended up getting his dish last. The server didn't realize his pancakes went somewhere else until all our food had been served. The Beef Carpaccio to share as a starter. The fried capers really gave it a unique flavor and texture. It was a delicious starter. I had a Cheeseburger cooked medium rare with Fried Egg and Bacon with a side salad. It was an awesome burger, seasoned really well and cooked to perfection. The salad was lightly dressed. My husband had the Chilaquiles and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He said it was prepared differently than he's had and the chips were crunchier which he liked. My friend had a Scramble and liked her dish as well. My son's Chocolate Chip Pancakes were fluffy and had actual chocolate chips in the batter. He was ecstatic. Our cocktails were yummy. I ordered the pork chop which was cooked perfectly; seasoned well, juicy, and tender, yum! It came with a side of bacon Brussel sprouts which I still crave to this day; it was a perfect pair with the pork chop. And also came with a side of mashed potatoes. I ordered a side of pasta bolognese because I couldn't choose between the pork chop or the pasta so I ordered both lol. Which was a great choice. Went for brunch on a Saturday around 1:00 pm. There are two seating areas, outside under cover or inside. We chose inside by the bar because outside felt a little warm. We were asked if we had reservations and quickly seated. Outside tables were busy, but there was no one inside so we had the place to ourselves. Waiter was nice and went over the cocktails and menu and provided recommendations. We ordered mimosas with stuffed brioche and a breakfast sandwich and fries. The mimosa was strong but not overly so. My friend stated the French toast was excellent and the cream was the perfect compliment. The breakfast sandwich had eggs, bacon, and cheese on a potato bun. They brought jelly for the sandwich. The sandwich was rather large and a little messy, so a knife and fork are in order. The fries were fresh with a slight crunch. $18 for each meal felt like a great deal. We booked a reservation on Open Table for 9:30pm last night (Friday) because it was last minute that's the only time slot they had available. We decided we would go earlier and maybe just have a glass of wine until we could be seated. So, we walked in around 8:30pm and were pleasantly surprised when the hostess told us she could seat us right away. The hostess was very outgoing and friendly and her energy made us feel welcomed right off the bat. She was kind enough to ask us if we wanted to sit indoor or outdoor. We wanted to be outdoor and she found a cute little table next to the fire place. Our waiter, Rafael- what a gem! He was very attentive and patient, which made our dinner so enjoyable. He even put our partial half bottle of white wine into an ice bucket so it would stay cold. We got the thai coconut mussels and crab cakes to start. The broth that the mussels were nestled in was light but luscious. The crab cakes were meaty with a thin outer breading and paired well with the siracha aioli and sesame papaya salad. For dinner I got the pan roasted Alaskan halibut and my fiancé got the grilled New York steak. The fish was so tender and flaky that it just melted in my mouth. I tried my fiancé's steak too and it was very well-cooked, juicy and flavorful. I got the New York cheesecake with berry compote and chantilly cream. My fiancé got the lemon meringue pie with graham cracker crust. Both desserts were delicious. Everything we tried here food wise was great. In addition to how clean and high-quality the food tasted, the presentation was on point and fit the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant. We always appreciate when we come across a restaurant that is doing everything right. Most importantly, they have staff that is doing the very best in each of their roles. Been here 3-4 times for brunch and I've never had a bad meal or service. Never been here for dinner but I'd definitely like to try next time. Leo was our server this previous visit and as busy as it was, he was very attentive to our table and never missed a beat. This place works as a team. My flute tipped over and broke, spilling all the champagne left. Next thing you know three others ran over to clear it up as fast as can be. The place was packed just minutes after opening; reservations are recommended and can be done on OpenTable.com. The place is super cute and although many like the outdoors which is covered under a permanent text, i prefer the inside. Food is sooo yummy and portions are big. This place was worth every penny. We each had an entree and Bellini, then shared a French toast and bread pudding. Only cost $124 post tax, pre tip. Btw, this was one of the best bread puddings I've ever had. It took us longer than expected to get there since we came from SF, but they were extremely accommodating even though we were tardy for our reservation time. Since we had a party of 11, we were divided in two tables. Their outdoor seating area is very pretty. Upon seating, they gave me and the other bday girl a bday card that was handwritten inside. That was honestly such a cute touch and so personable. Their gesture was deeply appreciated and now I will never forget them! Anyways, on to the food... their food is just as amazing as their service. My bf and I shared the burger and fish & chips. Our table also shared the calamari for appetizer. The calamari was a good portion, nicely fried, and had a very delicious tangy sauce glazed over it. I highly recommend the appetizer to share! Everyone in our table loved it. We chose medium rare for the burger and it was juicy and cooked to perfection. The patty was pretty big so the burger was filling. As for the fish and chips, the fish was HUGE and it came with 4 giant pieces. Again, it was fried to perfection like the calamari. It was crunchy on the outside but tender on the inside. Both of our orders came with delicious fries to go with the meal. My bf and I was so full that we couldn't even finish everything. I will definitely be back even if it's not a special occasion. The girls and I came here for our brunch before our usual "wine tasting" Saturday routine. The ambiance was really nice - the location (free parking garage across the street) and friendly staff. It was "packed" for a Saturday and so we opted to sit inside but was given an option to wait and be seated on their open porch area but we had a tasting reservation so inside we went. We started off with cocktails... I forgot what we had but it was pretty and deadly strong! LOL definitely started the day right. It can get busy here during weekend rush hour so if you plan to dine here make sure to have reservations. They also won't sit you at the table unless your whole party has arrived. It's right across from the parking garage so it is also just a convenient spot to have a meal. On to the food... We ordered calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. I had the omelette for the day which had spinach, tomato, bacon and cheese. The calamari was good, but I wish they had the sweet chili sauce on the side instead of on top of it. It was a bit over dressed, and took away from the crunchy exterior. The breading didn't slide off the calamari which was a huge plus in my book. The crab cakes held together, but the star of that dish was the shredded papaya. It added another level freshness to the dish that was needed. Omelette was simple nothing extravagant. We brought four bottles of wine for six people. Each bottle had a 20.00 corkage fee. This was reasonable. I wasn't blown away by anything but the quality was good. We started with the calamari that was highly recommended at one of the wineries we visited. It was pretty good, it had a hot sweet honey like substance on it which change the flavor profile a bit. I had the fish with potatoes and asparagus and it was good. A few of us had desert, I did not have any but it all looked good and everyone finished it.
