Brunch at Napa Valley Bistro was the perfect way to slow down after a few days of wine tasting. We looked at the menu, couldn't make a decision, and did what any food lovers would do--we ordered almost everything. The French toast, Chesapeake Benedict, crab skillet... every plate was so good that we just kept passing dishes around the table. No regrets! Jane, I believe was our server. She was awesome and patient. If you're in Napa, definitely make time for brunch here. You'll leave full and already thinking about what to order the next time. It's centrally located and quaint resto. read more

This place hits it out of the park every time, in every way a restaurant can. Homemade everything, fresh ingredients, delicious preparation, beautiful plating, ambience perfect for a girls weekend/family get together/solo relaxation, and 5-star service every time. I go here a couple of times a month, it's a locals favorite for a reason! Some pro tips: -Their viognier and cajun shrimp are a perfect pairing. The bright fruit on the wine really brings out a creaminess in the shrimp and balances the dish's heat... they're perfect together! -If you can't decide, go for the fish tacos. You won't regret it. -Erica is a brilliant server and all-star. She's always smiling and has great suggestions! read more

I don't like trashing food establishments because it's so hard to make it in this industry, especially in 2026. But, I'll be honest, we were a little disappointed for Mother's Day. I had a reservation to sit outdoors. When we arrived, we were told outside would be a long wait, so we settled for indoors. That was a bummer on a beautiful day. The food was ok to pretty good. My family reported that the fish and chips were solid. I tried the chips - excellent. The Chinese chicken salad was eh - too drenched and sweet. My omelette was a downer. Expensive and miniature. Moreover, it was accompanied by a small portion of tasty potatoes. This was a veggie omelette with a little cheese. Ya gotta give more for such a high price. The blood Mary was also expensive and meh. It had a long slice of bacon sticking out. If you do that, the bacon has to be crispy. This was cold, soft, and fatty which was kind of gross. The pepperonchini also had a bizarre chemical taste, so I surreptitiously spit it out. The server was great and friendly but did add two of an entree on to the bill instead of one. Luckily I checked. read more

Probably the best steakhouse burger I've ever had. The wife got a delicious mignon and potato dish. Cute little place, very unassuming off of the downtown area of Napa. Great and quick service. We'll be back! read more

We selected this restaurant last minute and we certainly weren't disappointed. I had the salmon and my wife had the tortellini. Good portions for the price and although the wines by the glass are a tad expensive, they are on par with other restaurants in the area. I would certainly go back as there are several other entrees that looked worth trying. read more

Spending 2 nights in Napa and craving some Ahi tuna. The picture of the AhinTuna started looked so good from other review so we went to check it out. My fiance reserved here at Napa Valley Bistro on open table. We walked in and were greeted immediately. We got our table and was told the specials. Our server was awesome he did all he could to make a drink I requested that was not on the menu, it didn't work out but instead went with the mango passion fruit martini. Was the bomb! We started with an appetizer Seasame Encrusted Ahi Tuna. This starter appetitizer was perfect portion and not to filling so you can still eat your main entree. I ordered the penne pasta pomodoro with chicken. The protein was extra. The pasta dish was fabuloso! Sauce was creamy and the vegetables provided with then dish were spot on al dented. My fiance ordered the brasies beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meat was so soft. Highly recommend this dish. The bistro was very welcoming the decor was beautiful with fresh flowers on each table. You can eat inside or outside. The food was over all tasted so so good. It was read more

This is a great local restaurant in Napa for a breakfast or brunch. They're usually busy, so make reservations or be prepared to wait a little bit. Friendly staff, great food, and a comfortable atmosphere. It's inside of an older strip mall with convenient parking. We had a great brunch here and really enjoyed ourselves. Hope you give it a try. read more

My fiancé and I came here for Valentine's Day and had such a wonderful time. We ordered the salmon and a Cabernet, and both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the vibe was just amazing -- perfect for a special night out. We arrived a little early for our reservation, and they were able to accommodate us without any issues, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be coming back! read more

We were warmly welcomed and our group of four had different dishes and we enjoyed them all . Food was fresh and portion were good.

The food is amazing! I had the mushroom flatbread and the scallops. Insanely good. My friend had the cream of asparagus soup which she said was sublime perfection. She also had a salad (don't remember which) that she said was crazy good too. Highly recommend. read more

We had a good dinner here yesterday while visiting Napa to pick up some wine. This is a cute place with a great appetizer menu was the hook that got us to choose this restaurant. Ricardo was our server. He did a nice job of checking in on us but didn't hover. We started with the fried calamari and the seared ahi tuna. Both were a great way to start. I order the cheese burger and my wife ordered the halibut. My wife never finishes her entree when dining out...she cleaned her plate! She obviously loved her selection. I really enjoyed my burger. It had a nice chargrilled flavor and was cooked to the right temperature. The garlic fries were crispy, garlicky, and stayed with me for the rest of the night. We had a good experience at Napa Valley Bistro. I would come back here again. read more

Our meal at the Bistro was underwhelming for the most part except for the short rib tacos which were delicious. The short rib tacos were flavorful and filling. Two come in each order so we asked for three orders. However, the other appetizers weren't as good. The calamari lacked flavor. The wings were a bit overcooked. The empanada was overpriced at $9 and wasn't very good. Too much garnish on the potstickers but they were good. On the smaller side and only 3 in an order so you may need to order multiples. On a positive note, we went during Happy Hour so the meal was super affordable. If you stick to the short rib tacos and potstickers and brush off the garnish it could make for an affordable night out. For a restaurant with linen tablecloths a single real rose or flower would be classier than the fake flowers. The service was good. The food came out hot as well. read more

I have to say the food is very good so kudos to the chef. However, the service was not good. I think possibly it was a lack of staff but our waitress seemed frazzled and really had a difficult time getting the order down and executing the meal. I also found it odd that they had a very limited wine list and no liquor service at the bar. Only beer and wine and cocktails made with wine based alcohol. I think they just need a revamp and maybe spruce up the restaurant a bit. I would give it another try because of the food. read more

We had a great meal here. We were very surprised at the fact only two other tables were occupied. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant is located on a side street. We talked to some locals at the wineries and they did not recommend this restaurant. However their experiences appeared dated. We recommended to all of them they gave them another chance. read more

We went on a Friday night and were seated immediately. We started with the ceviche which had shrimp and mango. The flavor was bright but could have used spice. We split the flat iron steak , came with fries and arugula salad. They were nice to split it for us. The steak portion was a bit small but well seasoned. Staff was attentive . Room was a bit warm. We ordered 2 different whiskey drinks and they were disappointing- you couldn't even taste any whiskey!! Overall recommend but skip the cocktails read more

We dined here on New Year's Eve, and our server Jade truly made the experience exceptional. From start to finish, the entire staff was welcoming and attentive. We began with the lobster bisque, which was incredibly velvety with rich, well-balanced flavor. The Asian chicken salad was bright, sweet, and tangy, and the lemon thyme risotto with chicken was gre, the chicken was juicy, tender, and full of flavor, while the risotto was fresh and perfectly light. The space itself is very cute and quaint, making for a lovely overall dining experience. read more

Wow! We started with the calamari which vanished in no time. The absolute best seafood fettuccini! The fettuccini was perfectly cooked with a lot of seafood in every bite. We also had the short rib gnocchi which was very flavorful and a large portion. The lamb burger was great as usual. The cheeseburger was very good and I will get that again! We loved the butterscotch pudding (my personal favorite) and alcoholic root beer float (first for us!) Service was what you would want! Very attentive! We love seeing the photo of the vineyards against the wall it just sets the mood! Just and excellent dinner! We will be back! read more

Another visit to Napa Valley Bistro. Great to be remembered when we walked in. After a morning of wine tasting, Napa Valley Bistro was a perfect place for DH's belated birthday lunch. DH enjoyed his three Short Rib Tacos. Generous serving. I opted for a half-size salad with fresh Dungeness crab. So glad that DH shared his dessert: Creamy Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream with a sprinkling of almonds. Over the years we have found many favorite lunch spots. Napa Valley Bistro is our current favorite. Friendly service. Interesting menu options and reasonable prices ... for Napa. read more

After we arrived 5 minutes early for a reservation on Valentine's Day that we had made on Open Table 10 days earlier and had confirmed by phone the day before, we were told it would be a few minutes. We went to the bar and had a glass of wine. 30 minutes later we were ushered out the exit used to reach the restrooms and brought to the entrance of the attached office building where 7 tables with folding chairs were set up. About 5 minutes later our neighboring patrons left a few minutes before their drinks arrived, apparently disappointed with the arrangement. An hour after our reservation we received our appetizer- it was good. We asked to share our two entrees, but when they arrived we had to ask again and wait for small plates to be retrieved from the main restaurant. The meals were good. The staff friendly. Just not the romantic date night we had looked forward to on our trip to Napa. Additionally, when we arrived home, for an unknown reason, we got notification that our OpenTable reservation had been canceled - not a great feeling to be canceled on Valentine's Day read more

Came in late on a Friday night, they were very accommodating and gracious, didn't feel rushed at all. Our server Ricardo made our drinks right away and kept the kitchen open after close just in case we wanted more food. Just stopped in for drinks and an appetizer, espresso martini was delicious and really espresso forward, my date got a lemon drop which was delicious as well. My first time having a cocktail with soju, has a lighter and softer feel to it, really smooth. We shared the chicken empanadas, so full of flavor in every bite, black bean pyre made the dish, topped with avocado, Cole slaw and a lime cilantro sauce. Will be back again! Napa Valley Bistro was incredible. It is kind of outside of downtown Napa so the area is fairly quiet. We were surprised that for a Saturday lunch, there were not a lot of people there. I brought my friends here to celebrate someone's 21st birthday. The inside had a beautiful long painting of the mountains and there were wooden tables that had wine glasses set up. They're truly living in the "wine culture." I wish I remembered the server's name but she was such a lovely lady. She was very nice and was able to provide a sweet cake surprise for my friend turning 21. The cake piece was too big for everyone and everyone's dishes were given at quite a generous portion. I bought the Summer Spring Vegetable Risotto. I love how the risotto just melts when you eat it. The seasonal vegetables were extremely well done for the taste and I couldn't have asked a better way to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. There is a spot where you can make reservations, but for the most part, walking in should be fine. read more

always great food and wine list. service at bar and table is always very attentive. always a go to restaaurant.

Pretty nice spot with attentive wait staff and somewhat dated decor. I ordered the short ribs and ravioli, and the veggie mix included didn't exactly match the dish (green beans, corn, etc). They offer free focaccia but we had to specifically request it. There were tons of tiny flies everywhere, which is a tad disconcerting. read more

Overall good food & that is what counts. Quaint restaurant & small bar, not as trendy as some others but doesn't matter. Easy parking access & decent location to center of town action. The pineapple jalapeño margarita was yummy. The lavender lemon drop tasted good but the glass wasn't filled, it was well below the rim. The pan seared sea scallops on top of whipped cauliflower potato purée was delicious. My friend really enjoyed the lamb burger. read more

One of our very favorite restaurants in the whole area. The food is consistently delicious, properly cooked and reasonably priced. The gumbo is the best I've ever eaten. Salads are world class. The waitstaff is very professional and always customer oriented. The greeters are always well attired, pleasant and efficient. I'd give the place five stars if something could be done about the noise levels. A little too loud for conversation when the place is near capacity. read more
