I don't like trashing food establishments because it's so hard to make it in this industry, especially in 2026. But, I'll be honest, we were a little disappointed for Mother's Day. I had a reservation to sit outdoors. When we arrived, we were told outside would be a long wait, so we settled for indoors. That was a bummer on a beautiful day. The food was ok to pretty good. My family reported that the fish and chips were solid. I tried the chips - excellent. The Chinese chicken salad was eh - too drenched and sweet. My omelette was a downer. Expensive and miniature. Moreover, it was accompanied by a small portion of tasty potatoes. This was a veggie omelette with a little cheese. Ya gotta give more for such a high price. The blood Mary was also expensive and meh. It had a long slice of bacon sticking out. If you do that, the bacon has to be crispy. This was cold, soft, and fatty which was kind of gross. The pepperonchini also had a bizarre chemical taste, so I surreptitiously spit it out. The server was great and friendly but did add two of an entree on to the bill instead of one. Our meal at the Bistro was underwhelming for the most part except for the short rib tacos which were delicious. The short rib tacos were flavorful and filling. Two come in each order so we asked for three orders. However, the other appetizers weren't as good. The calamari lacked flavor. The wings were a bit overcooked. The empanada was overpriced at $9 and wasn't very good. Too much garnish on the potstickers but they were good. On the smaller side and only 3 in an order so you may need to order multiples. On a positive note, we went during Happy Hour so the meal was super affordable. If you stick to the short rib tacos and potstickers and brush off the garnish it could make for an affordable night out. For a restaurant with linen tablecloths a single real rose or flower would be classier than the fake flowers. The service was good. The food came out hot as well. read more

I have to say the food is very good so kudos to the chef. However, the service was not good. I think possibly it was a lack of staff but our waitress seemed frazzled and really had a difficult time getting the order down and executing the meal. I also found it odd that they had a very limited wine list and no liquor service at the bar. Only beer and wine and cocktails made with wine based alcohol. I think they just need a revamp and maybe spruce up the restaurant a bit. I would give it another try because of the food. read more

We began with the lobster bisque, which was incredibly velvety with rich, well-balanced flavor. We went on a Friday night and were seated immediately. We started with the ceviche which had shrimp and mango. The flavor was bright but could have used spice. We split the flat iron steak , came with fries and arugula salad. They were nice to split it for us. The steak portion was a bit small but well seasoned. Staff was attentive . Room was a bit warm. The owner wants to know why I was furious about the quality of the food so I will elaborate. It's because the food was meager and not fresh, and the crab was bad. We drive hours for a Napa experience and got tourist food. Our money and time matter to us. We left Napa after this meal. The feedback on specific items could have been used to make improvements, but it is clear the owner doesn't even want to turn an honest review into growth for the business, and that's disappointing. We went to the bar and had a glass of wine. 30 minutes later we were ushered out the exit used to reach the restrooms and brought to the entrance of the attached office building where 7 tables with folding chairs were set up. About 5 minutes later our neighboring patrons left a few minutes before their drinks arrived, apparently disappointed with the arrangement. An hour after our reservation we received our appetizer- it was good. We asked to share our two entrees, but when they arrived we had to ask again and wait for small plates to be retrieved from the main restaurant. The meals were good. The staff friendly. Just not the romantic date night we had looked forward to on our trip to Napa. Additionally, when we arrived home, for an unknown reason, we got notification that our OpenTable reservation had been canceled - not a great feeling to be canceled on Valentine's Day read more

Our server Ricardo made our drinks right away and kept the kitchen open after close just in case we wanted more food. My first time having a cocktail with soju, has a lighter and softer feel to it, really smooth. Wow! We started with the calamari which vanished in no time. The absolute best seafood fettuccini! The fettuccini was perfectly cooked with a lot of seafood in every bite. Napa Valley Bistro was incredible. It is kind of outside of downtown Napa so the area is fairly quiet. We were surprised that for a Saturday lunch, there were not a lot of people there. I brought my friends here to celebrate someone's 21st birthday. The inside had a beautiful long painting of the mountains and there were wooden tables that had wine glasses set up. They're truly living in the "wine culture." I wish I remembered the server's name but she was such a lovely lady. She was very nice and was able to provide a sweet cake surprise for my friend turning 21. The cake piece was too big for everyone and everyone's dishes were given at quite a generous portion. I bought the Summer Spring Vegetable Risotto. I love how the risotto just melts when you eat it. The seasonal vegetables were extremely well done for the taste and I couldn't have asked a better way to celebrate my friend's 21st birthday. The waitstaff is very professional and always customer oriented. The greeters are always well attired, pleasant and efficient. Recently, we visited during their happy hour; the information was posted on a sign near the front door. We were presented with the regular menu and had to inquire about the happy hour menu. We ordered multiple appetizers and the waiter informed us that the HH order of empanadas was only one so we ordered that item off the regular menu (two). While the food was fresh and nicely plated, there is inconsistent service and pricing to be aware of. A different server advised the table next to us that the HH empanada only came with one but she'll give them two. We had been socializing with the other table and they were out of towners like ourselves. We ordered drinks and had to point out twice to the waiter that we were overcharged, as he referred us to the prices on the regular menu but the drinks were clearly offered on the HH menu. I will never be back. I wish I could give a ZERO rating. Without question I had the worst steak I have had in ten years. I ordered the "filet", expecting a filet mignon, but I got a piece of 3/4 inch thick leather instead. You could hardly cut it with a knife and the two bites I tried were so chewy it was inedible. The gravy and mashed potatoes were good. When I was leaving and told the manager I was only taking the steak home for my dog he said "I will have the kitchen cook one for me to try". We were here yesterday for New Year's Eve and we loved the ambiance and the food. I was interested in having pasta but their pasta had meat, and I asked our waiter if it was possible to do seafood instead and they made it happen. Their customer service was exceptional. They were on top of everything. My mom even stepped out to go to the bathroom and they immediately grabbed her plate and took it to the front to keep it warm while she was away. WOW! Don't know why, but haven't been to the bistro I a few years. Went today for the Oktoberfest menu. What a treat! Started with an amazing potato leek soup. Outstanding schnitzel and sauerbraten style short ribs followed - can't give enough praise for these dishes. Took home the strudel since we had no room left.
