the general manager KAY made my experience here we always come to this location in phoenix but we ended up trying the one in tempe (terrible. see my review there) which barely gave us any food in our bowls. every time we've visited this location the staff has been super welcoming and amazing. they greeted us the second we walked in (even though they were working) and served us quickly. i have zero bad thoughts about this location and it's the ONLY one we'll visit in the future. worth the travel and hoping to see other locations follow the example this one sets!! thank you again for a fresh experience. food 10/10 per usual read more

Generally speaking, I like CAVA very much and since I work close by, I would say I go there to pick up lunch at least once a week. I love the concept of choosing the ingredients for my order. The food is fresh and delicious, but my favorite thing at CAVA is the cucumber mint lemonade/limeade. It's addictive and generally the primary reason I go there! Today I went to pick up CAVA for lunch. It was a few minutes past 12 noon, when I arrived, and they were already out of the cucumber mint lemonade. Having worked for years in the restaurant business and coming from a restaurant-owning family, I understand when your establishment occasionally runs out of a menu item, but this is the 3rd time, in a month, that I've gone there when they've been out of the cucumber mint lemonade. Each time, I've asked the employees if they have more in the back to replenish the supply and each time I've been told that they don't because they have run out of cucumbers. That, in my opinion, is a poor excuse and indicates poor management. A Mediterranean restaurant should NEVER run out of cucumbers. There should be an inventory of stock, every night, and if the stock is low the opening manager should source the supply at a local market. There is no acceptable reason they should be chronically out of the same thing, 90 minutes after opening their doors. read more

This review is for the service not the food. I have been here multiple times and each time the service gets worse. I came in tonight around 7 and there were about 20 people ahead of me. By the time I got to order it took nearly an hour. I stood at the meat station for 5 minutes for the one lady working that section to replenish everything one by one by herself. There was plenty of staff walking around aimlessly without purpose. This location lacks a sense of urgency. Delicious and healthy! We were very upset to lose Zoe's Kitchen. Cava is different but also delicious. Bowls and pitas, though no skewers. In our home delivery, they put the sides like roasted veggies and falafels in the bowl, rather than separate--but it tasted good! You should give it a try! read more

Good food. But every time we do pick up order it is 20-25 minutes late. Last time I could have gone through the line 5 times instead. Must have been 6-7 people waiting for pick up orders and no one in line. Doesn't make sense to me if they are not busy and can't be a little closer on pick up order times. read more

My husband and I have been looking forward to trying this place out as it is only 1 mile away from our house. We were excited to try some healthy Mediterranean food and were so disappointed by the lack of customer service. This is my first time going and I ordered the spicy lamb meatballs and I asked to substitute it for a bowl versus pita. The guy asked what I wanted to substitute it for and I just looked at him blankly expecting him to go into detail until I had to ask. After the first employee scooped the rice into my bowl, a second employee took my bowl and was reading from a card as to what to put into my bowl. It's fine if he has a card in hand to reference, however he seemed so lost and had no idea what to do. The portion amount was ridiculously small and every time he scooped something, he would take out about half of it it. My bowl was so empty and at the end it looked like the guy was done, so I asked if he could add extra hummus (as it looked like there was no more sauce that was going to be added). He added another scoop of hummus until I realized that the ingredient did include two types of sauces and I asked about it and then he mumbled some thing saying 'oh the girl is going to put some in.' Turns out that additional scoop of hummus was an additional $3 - I don't mind paying it, but it would've been great if I got a heads up about it. Super disappointed about my experience and I definitely won't be back. read more

So, I thought this place was great and has awesome potential. Terribly understaffed, we waited about 30 min in line for 2 bowls. The chicken was overcooked and he literally scraped the crappy little bits left of the veggies for our bowl but they really do need more staff. There was probably 20 people in front of us abd another 10 waiting. The sweet potato bowl with basmati rice was so fantastic. The harissa was nice and spicy and each bowl came with a pita slice. My good was pretty good, I wish the rice had been a little bit more cooked. Like a lot of people said, the service is not good. No one asks how you're doing or walks you thru the process. This was my first time, I got the gist of it but it would have been nice if the person had spoken and let me know what things were, I had to guess using the legend they had on the glass. Also, they needed to refill a lot of their toppings. They need better staff that have a little bit of enthusiasm. I'm hoping the new CAVA on camelback will be way better. I'm not sure what all the hype is about - I personally left feeling pretty meh about the whole experience. The interior is just a stripped down Zoe's, the line wrapped around the restaurant because their process takes way too longgg (good luck trying to run in for a quick lunch) and with no iced tea, water is the only zero calorie drink option (save the $2.55 for a small drink if, like me, you chose to not drink your calories). The grain and green bowl I got was so-so, the attitude I got from the assembly line 'server' was no-no. Maybe I'll give them another try sometime in the future, for now I'll continue to go to Pita Jungle for fresh, healthy, Mediterranean food served with a smile. read more

It was 3 months ago. I sat in my office chair with a burning hunger that could only be quenched by food of the Mediterranean variety. At first, I thought I would have to settle for the basic, boring Gyro from whatever's down the street...until this place was brought to my attention. I dove, wallet first, into the paradise that is CAVA. I left with a full stomach and a wallet that didn't even notice the difference. I've been having them every Thursday ever since. I shifted into third gear, then fourth, shattering every traffic law under the sun while downloading the cava mobile app so I never have to wait in the line here again. I never could have fathomed that putting together a Mediterranean bowl when all the ingredients are already prepared, could have taken 20 minutes, approximately the same amount of time as a family guy episode. Zeus, Poseidon, and Athena would be rolling in their graves if they saw what had happened to the speed of their native cuisine. With that being said, I think they would be relieved that an American chain restaurant can mimic what their brethren had created oh so long ago to the ability that Cava has done, so well done. read more

Good food but the meat portions are way too small. We paid for extra meat and still got a tiny scoop...very stingy. They were also out of right rice, hummus and braised lamb. Those are not falafel. While my falafel wasn't inedible the falafel were mushy inside. The falafel had almost no flavor despite having a lot of toppings. I can't believe pita jungle makes a better falafel and that's saying something. The eggplant dip which I anticipate being babaganouj was a tasteless little plastic cup. The pita are too doughy. Idk man this isn't anywhere resembling Mediterranean food unless you've never had Mediterranean food. It's edible it's not horrible but it's not good. Sorry. read more

Our party of 4 stopped in for dinner about 30 min before closing. It was our first time in and we had lots of questions. The staff was super helpful and made great recommendations. A few of the toppings were sold out, but we were able to try several protein options on a few build your own bowls (grilled chicken, meatball, and braised lamb) and a couple of recommended pitas (spicy chicken and spicy meatball) Everything was tasty, the hummus, eggplant, and feta dips and the skug and yogurt dill sauces were delicious and the meats were flavorful and tender. The lentils and rice were perfectly cooked, the pitas were fluffy, and the super greens were fresh and delicious. We all agreed we will be back for sure! read more

Wow I've been here a lot and have had a good experience. Today I stopped by and the Mexican gal, wasn't happy at all. They were out of chicken. I asked for an extra scoop of right rice and my bowl was $18. I said I think it's fair to charge a $1 or $2 but she was like nope $5 extra.
