Horrible service. I love cava, I live out of the state and there is one on every corner. The food was good, as per usual. However the service needs some serious improvement. I offered to pay extra for extra rice and got eyes rolled at me (for offering to pay extra). My friend also was getting toppings (which are unlimited) and the guy kept saying "you really want another one". It was incredibly rude and the customer service needs to be worked on. Finally tried cava - the real way (aka Emma Chamberlain's way) and Cava just does not disappoint. This is honestly better that what I would consider Mediterranean chipotle, and we need one in the Bay Area, California! I got a saffron rice falafel bowl with fresh sliced avocado and spicy hummus, Muhammara, and baba ghanoush. All of it was so delicious, and it their bowls come with unlimited toppings. I'd definitely fit this in my schedule at least once every two weeks! read more

Listen, cava in terms of food is always good and this place is no different, it's just that sometimes the wait is substantial for what a fast casual joint should be, the lunch rush is an absolute bear here and evidently there's a police and or fire academy nearby because it's frequented by them at this time. Back to the wait, they typically have one person per section, which extends the wait because people will place multiple orders and there is just one person handling making the food. So for the person ordering for themselves and a few friends, that means a new bowl per item which takes time. It just would be nice if they could distribute the workload a bit more in the interest of saving time. read more

Cava is a great spot to get a quick lunch. I love any place that lets me create a custom bowl, and this place has a wide variety of bases, dips, and toppings to choose from. In my experience, everything has always been tasty and fresh. For the past year my friends have raved about cava, so I was excited when they finally came to Brooklyn. I came in and got on the line , from start to finish, it was about a 35 minute wait. The employees were nice and very helpful. You pick a grain or salad , or both! You pick a protein and various toppings. Which is great! This is the mistake I made, I mixed everything together in my bowl, which ended up making the food taste bland. My supervisor had also gotten a bowl from here, but she ate everything separately and she enjoyed it! Here's the downside, I found out that certain city employees get a discount. I was willing to pay FULL price for a bowl with TWO items. They said no. I requested this SAME accommodation numerous times before at different locations with no issue. But okay, fine. So to meet their demands I purchased an ENTIRE order of braised lamb in addition to the bowl just to get the gravy. Still, no gravy... dry meat only. I proceed to ask for gravy. Another "no". At this point I couldn't endure the embarrassment further. I went back to my car and told my husband. Moments later he returned informing me that he was told that they would NOT provide the refund he requested because I left the store with the bag. And for any further clarification -call corporate. As stated by the manager 'Jamal'. So just so we're clear there will be no accommodations for customers, nor refunds at this location! read more

Therefore I was totally stoked to check it with the natural hummus and salads. I love the concept of building your salad bowl very popular awesome. I chose a green salad with several fun ingredients such as olives, grains, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, regular hummus with delish yogurt dressing. It was nice dressing however not amazing. The salad was dicey no crunch. It was a disappointment The hummus was ok. That was not good on account that this establishment claims this is their major selling point. This is literally the worst CAVA location to ever exist. I've never once had a pick up order be ready on time, and the staff couldn't care less. There are always so many of them standing around or - better yet - arguing with each other instead of actually trying to get orders out. Also inevitably at least one worker always has their mask as a chin strap instead. On top of all that, my order ends up wrong half the time. I've given so many chances to this location as I love CAVA but can't tolerate the frustration any longer. Don't bother unless you're ordering in person or have packed your patience. read more

Cava offers up a giant bowl of all sorts of different Mediterranean flavors mixed up in one. And I find that it's good. Other things I find: 1. I find that they'll load you up on way more chicken than they will braised lamb or meatballs, so go chicken if you're particularly hungry. 2. I find that the crazy feta, while not that crazy, is pretty tasty. 3. I find that a greens and grains bowl is a nice balance between healthy-ish and filling. 4. I find that going in at 11:45 am or earlier is the move during the week, as this is a prime lunch spot near MetroTech, the courthouse, and a number of other office-type places. 5. I find that it's a bad move to make plans with your buddies on your wife's first Mother's Day. That's not necessarily relevant here, but I feel like it's something everyone should know. read more

I ordered a popular and one of their top dishes, Spring Lamb + Feta, with no additional add-ons and it totaled $13.02. The food itself was quite tasty, the lamb tasted authentic and had that lamb flavor without it being gamey. The veggies salad were fresh and the sauces they gave along with the order were a nice touch. However, I believe the portion sizes to be too small. I read online of other reviews that the portions were huge, but they were misleading to me. In addition, the dish is called lamb+feta but I received almost next to no feta cheese at all. Although there were some things amiss, I still enjoyed my meal and I plan to come back for more in the future. Only thing is I would maybe get an additional side! read more

But this specific location is absolutely, entirely, fully, truly, (any other adverbs?) bogus and terrible. They CONSTANTLY take well over 1 hour 15 to prepare an Uber eats order of 1 salad - I won't receive my food anything short of 1 hour 45 for a 15 minute distance for delivery. FIVE times in a row (I know I should just give up already but I really love their food), but 5 times in a row, over a 3 month period, it has take them WELL over 1 hour 15 to actually prepare my food. I'm at my last order today (because I'll no longer order from them) and they took SO long, that I tracked 2 different cyclists who showed up to pick up my order, they waited for 15 minutes, then left because my food was not ready. First cyclist showed up 30 minutes after I placed my order, seems reasonable, second showed up 50 minutes after I placed my order, also more than reasonable. Now its raining so noone else will be showing up, but I had TWO different delivery guys waiting to do their job. This is literally the worst location I've ever encountered in my life. They obviously don't care and I cannot express strongly enough how disappointed I am in their lack of interest in getting an order out. Guys, it's just ONE SALAD. I don't live in a current CAVA city so I didn't know the deliciousness that awaited me but I learned that day! I don't know whether it was my hunger or my weariness but this was one of the best lunches I'd had in some time. Weary & hungry. Yes. I had spent hours (seriously; like, four) walking around Brooklyn in brisk weather (spring, my @ss) and in the wrong shoes. Many many times I wanted to stop, collapse and rideshare my way back to Manhattan but then I remembered that that would cost, like, $60 and I kept on my death march. I'm usually pretty good at finding subway stops but I couldn't find one for the life of me. Making my way to Downtown Brooklyn, I knew I would be within a stones throw of a subway line (and, a seat). As I walked through the prefab streets and past the throngs of people lined up for Shake Shack, I knew I didn't have much gas left in the tank. A quick check of my Yelp app let me find a new-to-me spot that promised good food and a warm place to sit for a spell. Pro tip: don't buy a drink at the beginning of the line. Wait until you get to the end and go for the soda fountain. Rather than enjoying the finite happiness of a bottle of blueberry soda, go for the never-ending fountain of the stuff. I blame my delirium. I walked in looking CRAZY and instead of running away, the guy at the counter greeted me and started me on my way. Since I'd never been there before, I had all the questions. I annoyed myself. The clerk didn't let on that he was anything other than helpful. I truly appreciated his grace in that moment. It may seem like a small thing but try getting the same response in Miami/Miami Beach (or, Nashville, these days). People like this gentleman are in short supply in service-facing positions. Thanks to my new best friend, I made the perfect lunch bowl. I think about it often. What was it? Get ready. My green/grains base was spinach and black lentils. Comin' in hot! From there, I opted for the eggplant, harissa and feta spreads/dips. I thought about a lamb/chicken protein combo but not knowing the brand, I went for chicken (as a good standard; in the future, I am mixing). Seeing what I was working with, I topped the goodies with olives, pickled red onions, cucumber, tomatoes, mint, and a little more feta. Getting hungry? I finished the masterpiece with dill sauce AND lime tahini sauce. BAM!! But for my soda faux pas, I would have crowned myself the master of CAVA. I sat down, smelled the goodness in front of me, and got to the business of mixing all the ingredients together with the speed and precision of Snow White's stepmother at her cauldron (and with the accompanying posture). I.could.not.believe how good every bite was. I mean it, y'all. Every.bite. The green/grain base was substantial. Their app looks and feels a lot like the Sweetgreen one (which is one of the best), but it's pretty trash and wouldn't let me order for pickup beforehand, so I had to rush over. I placed an order to pick up today at 5:30 pm I got to the store. The woman who was making the salads appear to be under the influence of something and was moving at a very slow pace. I was actually concerned about her. When I got home which was a 2 Hour Drive! there was only two salads when I ordered three and paid for three. While I was at the store, I asked her for pita chips and she said they were closing shortly when I looked on their website that location closes at 10 PM which was around 5 1/2 hours from the time I ask for it. When I called the store back to let her know she only put two salads in the back she said oh there it is. Very disappointing and I will never return to cava. read more

I haven't done delivery, so I can't speak to that experience, but every time I've come here the food has been well prepared and most importantly, well seasoned! It does get packed during lunch, which honestly says it all & it's Well worth the wait. Been stopping by once a week for the whole summer, getting my go-to (grain bowl w/ grilled chicken, harissa, tzatziki, & yogurt dill dressing). The Falafel is actually good to. Usually places will have it being too dry (*cough cough SWEETGREEN) but here it was good when I had it. All in all, would def recommend. I went to the original Cava in Manhattan (I think it was the first?) and had a 5-star experience, despite the very long line. When it came to BK, so close to home, I rejoiced! Cava is delicious, feels healthy, and for the amount of food, affordable. We go, as two adults and two small children, and have plenty of food with one salad and an extra pita. It's a solid meal for under $15. (Maybe we don't eat a ton, but we always feel full!) This Cava missed a 5th star because on our two visits so far, most employees seem like they would rather be anywhere else and are slightly miserable. Not mean, but there is certainly no joy in Cava-ville.* I'm not sure what is so bad about the working conditions there, but hopefully there are more smiles in the future.
