What you see in the picture was $102 for two plates and some sides. This was my first time trying Cattleack Barbeque despite working less than 5 minutes away from this location for the past two years. I got here a little before they opened and there was already a line. When the doors opened at around 10:05, someone came out and greeted everybody which I thought was pretty cool. I ordered the Texas Trinity Plate, some burnt ends, and a side of the hatch chile mac and cheese. Personally, I think the best thing there were the burnt ends and I would go back solely for those. The brisket, hatch chile sausage, and pork ribs were great as well but those burnt ends are the true star of the show. As for the mac and cheese, I am kicking myself for not trying the potato salad or street corn because the mac and cheese was a bit disappointing. I wasn't able to taste the hatch chile flavor and the mac and cheese could've used a lot more flavor. I ordered to-go so I wasn't able to get the experience of sitting and eating in the restaurant but the place looked nice and clean. It would be a great place to stop by for lunch in the middle of the work day if you have a little extra time to wait in line. If you do go I recommend going fairly early because I ended up waiting around 30 minutes after getting there a bit before they opened. Some of the best BBQ I've had in the DFW area! A friend and I arrived at Cattleack Barbeque around 9 AM to wait in line, and while it took us about two hours to get our food, it was absolutely worth the wait. The burnt ends were the standout. Today I tried the best brisket I have ever had in my life! Everyone was super friendly. I am having dinner later with family later so didn't get much only a slice of brisket and one rib. Absolutely the best brisket I have ever had, moist, tender, savory, perfect seasoning. And the ribs are also amazing with the slight hint of heat in the rub, ever so slight but appropriated. We arrived around 10am and waited around 1.5 hours. Highly recommend arriving early as I hear some days they sell out quick before closing. (Open 10-2 certain days of the week, so check their website for operating hours) Once you're in you get to select what you want and they start to prepare your tray for you. Get there early otherwise lines and beef rib may be sold out. The pastrami beef rib was delicious and massive!!! Glad I got to try it and would definitely get it again despite the steep price of $40 a lb. At 10 o'clock opening maybe twenty people were waiting. The brisket was very well cooked and perfectly salty, just not phenomenal. The ribs were about the same - a knock out, but not the best ever. The turkey is as good as any I've had, as was the hatch chilie sausage. The cornbread was decadent and the beans were wonderful, but the mac and cheese and dirty rice sides were just okay. A perfect order for a hungry single guest is 1/4 lb turkey, 1/3 lb brisket, a rib or two, cornbread, and beans. Add a single hatch sausage if you're feeling REALLY hungry. The chimi on top was needed to really pull the flavor through. The brisket was spot on. Zero notes. 5/5 on that. The cook on the pork ribs wasn't quite there. I like to look for a good clean bite and that just wasn't there on these even though the flavor was great! The sign that said ask for cornbread wasn't lying. It's fantastic. Buttery and soft but a great kick of spice at the end. Personally I felt the beans needed a little longer of a cook and a little more flavor but weren't bad. The potato salad really surprised me. Wow my expectations were higher based upon all of the reviews and pictures but honestly, the Wagyu brisket was very tender, but didn't have much flavor. I had to add barbecue sauce to give it more flavor. Open only Wed to Fri from 10am-2pm (plus first Saturday of every month), it is sometimes unnecessarily difficult to be able to come. But it's worth it every time. The meat to fat ratio is great in my opinion and it's perfectly great without bbq sauce. Actually their sauces here (BBQ and spicy) are pretty average. So I don't use them for any meat. The last time I was here, I also got the pastrami brisket too which was surprisingly great. The pork rib was solid but didn't stand out too much. I don't remember what the beef rib was like but my friend likes it. For sides, the hatch chili mac and cheese is phenomenal. Highly recommend. The broccoli salad is good too to provide some veggies and balance to the meal. The street corn is pretty interesting, also spicy. You don't need too much of it imo. The cole slaw isn't bad. Strong black pepper flavor. The corn bread is also great. Very solid. Like others mention, the parking can be hard so you may need to find street parking. There are wide bench tables you can sit at with self-serve water. Like other places, you wait in line, select your meats, and then pay. So you may want to ask someone else in your party to grab a seat while you wait in line. Definitely busy at lunch time.
