Dinner here Saturday night with a girlfriend and had a good time. We split the Caesar salad, and I had the scallops and cauliflower. Both were delicious. Beautiful restaurant, but disappointed with where we were seated. At first they tried to put us outside, but they had the flaps down so I didn't want to be next to a white tarp, and asked to be sat inside. Instead of sitting us in the main dining room, we were sat in the side room next to the kitchen, which was extremely annoying as my chair kept being bumped by the staff. Walking in, there's an elevator and beautiful open pathway with a nice view and flower arch. When I went, it was during sunset and had the MOST stunning view I've seen at a restaurant in a while. However, the restaurant itself was fairly dimly lit (at least in the evening). Now, I went with a big group and that may have contributed to the service experience, but we also went with a course meal and it was pre-planned for a birthday celebration. Throughout the meal, service was pretty slow and not very responsive on checking up on us. We also had multiple entrees and appetizers and I thought that most of them were okay to meh/bad. The rolls were okay. It definitely felt white-washed and not very authentic if I had to say and the rest of the food was too salty according to multiple of my friends and I. The only dish I liked was the crispy shrimp (and desserts weren't bad too). The ambience in Kallay is top-tier if you want a relaxed vibe with great plants and lighting. This is the place to be. The food was immaculate the serving size a little small I would definitely say order a few things that you and a partner or friends could all just eat off together. The macaroni lobster and the brussels sprouts were my favorite so delicious. They do have valet parking, but you can do your own self park on the street somewhere. The decor inside the restaurant was so nice, and the hostesses were nice enough to let us hang out around the front to take some photos. Staff was great and very attentive and quick on their feet. The food was also very good, the flavors were unmatched. Although I know this is more of an expensive restaurant I felt like some of the portions could have been a little larger. For three people our bill was $400 which isn't the end of the world, but I left hungry. I would come back if it was a special occasion, but not a place I can afford to go to casually sadly. Parking: I found a meter along Melrose, but they can be hard to come by. There's also valet which I believe is $15. Experience: I went for a work dinner on a Wednesday night and it was packed! We grabbed drinks at the bar and then were seated at our table. For a restaurant that is full of Instagram influencers, the food is surprisingly good (but veryyy expensive). We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and everything was super flavorful. The wagyu surf & turf roll was yummy. The crispy cauliflower is basically the crispy shrimp except with cauliflower and both were amazing. The miso glazed sea bass was light and flaky and the filet mignon was perfectly tender. The brussel sprouts and broccolini were some of the best veggie sides I've had in LA. Finally, the "carnival" donut holes were so fun and the sauces you inject them with were great. We checked in and our table was not ready yet so we were encouraged to head to the bar for a drink as we waited for our table, which took about 10 extra min. - madai ceviche - wagyu surf & turf roll - lobster Mac and cheese - crunchy rice cakes - mushroom spaghetti - sautéed snapper Overall, the food was good, but nothing particularly wow'd us. The ceviche madai was a favorite and was fresh, clean, flavorful, and citrusy. The mushroom spaghetti was also a hit; creamy and umami. I liked the crispy rice cake but my partner wasn't a big fan of it. The snapper was well sautéed with a crispy skin and tender flesh. We found that the lobster Mac was a little underwhelming and wish it was a bit bigger. The restaurant does have incredible aesthetics though. It's beautifully designed and on a rooftop; definitely worth taking pictures of the food and space. However, we think this is part of the experience and selling point as we did find the dishes to be quite expensive. What a beautiful restaurant! Absolutely the best place to take pictures - the entryway is just so lovely with warm lighting and florals - gorgeous! We had a largish party celebrating a birthday and the service was excellent; we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving to the packed restaurant. The food was delicious. We shared several things - I highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese and the salmon entree - both were absolutely perfectly cooked and delicious - easily the best lobster mac I've ever had, it was nothing like the others I've tasted. Brussels sprouts are skippable. Truffle fries are salty, crispy, perfect. Cocktails were excellently crafted and the donut dessert is totally worth it - the dipping sauces are so yummy and they're fried perfectly. Light, airy, delicious. I arrived here for Sunday brunch around 12:30 pm and surprisingly it wasn't too busy! From my previous experiences here, the service hasn't been the great but it seemed to improve since the last time I went. I decided to start off with The Eye Opener ($6) and the Toasted Almond Coffee ($9). The Eye Opener was great! I wasn't feeling too well and the Eye Opener was a great shot to take for a boost of energy. Also, I loved the Toasted Almond Coffee. I really liked the roasted almonds they included in the coffee. For my entrees, I decided to try the Shakshuka ($26) and the Steak and Eggs ($43). It was my first time trying Shakshuka so I don't really have any background experience with the dish but the Shakshuka here was delightful! My favorite part about the dish was the ground turkey and feta. The Steak and Eggs are always a go-to for me as well. I love how the steak comes with chimichurri, it adds such a splendid taste. Overall, the brunch at Catch LA is fantastic. Like in my previous review, the ambiance here never gets tiring. This was my first time at Catch, but it was definitely an experience to remember! As someone who loves seafood, I was really impressed with the freshness and quality of their sashimi and oysters, as well as the craftsmanship of their sashimi cuts and sushi rolls. Don't sleep on their signature dishes as well- their lobster Mac and cheese had such an unique, briny deep flavor that emphasized the notes of lobster and truffle, and we were lucky enough to come on a day when they were serving their Wagyu fried rice, which was just *chef's kiss* I also really liked their cocktails, which were mixed rlly well and were super generous in alcohol content, although I would recommend sticking to just one! Overall, an incredible experience filled with delicious and unique dishes, as well as impeccable service. It was easy to get a reservation on a weeknight and I parked at the Weho library to save some extra dollars. Upon entering, you see the iconic lush hall with vines. Instagram, instagram, instagram! Snap it quick before there's a line. While waiting for my party, I enjoyed the bar with this fabulous bartender who really took care of me. She got me liquored up and ready to eat. But the most popular dish wasn't available that night. Lychee! Please, put it back on the menu yall. I was treating out a childhood friend for dinner and we were blessed with a nice round booth facing the crowd and perfect for people watching. The food is surprisingly good. Textures, innovation. It was a rich meal and we were pretty satisfied. What I remember: Drinks: Salt and Pepper (20) - Refreshing and savory Meatpacking Manhattan (20) - classic and standard Food: Pretzel Bread (15) - The butter was amazing. The bread was soft and moist inside. The external part was like a pretzel and as expected. Truffle Sashimi (39) - Two rows with dollops. Small dollops that packed a punch. We loved the truffle sauce and use on other dishes like the pretzel and rice. Crunchy Rice Cakes (24) - had a nice crunch, but that's all i remember. Nori Tacos (24) - These were unique, but tiny. We ended up ordering more since it was the best thing that we had. Wagyu Fried Rice (55) - also amazing with good texture and mix of ingredients. A bit of a filler dish to substantiate the meal. Maybe not worth the price. Parmesan Truffle Fries (18) - these were standard fries and a bit disappointing. Don't get it. It was dumb. For dessert we got the Snickers Pie (18) which was peanut buttery and creamy. Not that memorable besides the fact that it was tiny, but sufficient to blow out the candle. They don't do much for birthdays which was disappointing, but they were sweet about it. Tip is not included which is surprising. But I think people who go here usually tip generously anyway. The two times I've been, I've been pleasantly surprised. Maybe because I prepare for the worst, but get delivered something pleasant. And I don't look at the actual cost. What a joke of a restaurant! Made reservations online, got there on time and was told that there is six tables in front of us. They told us to go stand by the bar area and buy drinks before our table was ready..... huhhhhh??! West Hollywood is less formal and busier then other parts of LA, just like this restaurant. Our reservations were for Sunday night and it was very busy this evening. When you first arrive you have to wait in line out front, then check in with the hostess or security, then after you'll be let in through the red velvet rope and up the elevator to where you'll dine. The group of 3 women checking in with the hostess in front of us were wearing mesh bodysuits half zipped and heels only, so that gave us a sense of the vibe we were about to enter, and honestly for many other diners there was a sense of senior prom so for those that may be annoyed by any part of that this may not be your favorite environment. However every part of the meal was great, the food quality was up to par and the speed of service was prompt and efficient. I started off with the oysters, which came with a delicious blood orange vinaigrette, and really enjoyed them. A great start to the meal. For my entrée I chose the herb roasted Branzino and it was better than I was expecting. The artichoke risotto on the bottom was really creamy and cooked well and the fish was done perfectly. I would happily order it again. We passed on dessert because we had a show after dinner but next time I will add that course. Overall a really delicious meal in a very lively, almost Vegas lounge type of environment. Parking can be tricky in this area due to how busy it gets but they do offer valet out front for $15. I would especially recommend this place if you have a group of four or more in that there will be great people watching and all the items will come out quickly, including drinks from the very large bar area.
