I tried the Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice and the Salmon Citrus Roll and both were delicious! I would say fairly priced as well. Based on food alone I would probably give them 4/5 stars. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because one of our dishes was accidentally placed on another party's table. Not a big deal, but they later picked it up from the table and placed it on our table saying "They didn't touch it". WHAT?? We didn't have enough time to process what had just happened, otherwise I would have complained. So unsanitary!! If they apologized and remade it for us, I would not have minded at all. read more

I should probably have my paycheck direct deposited here, but I'm trying to only order once a week. First, the food is amazing. Some of the best quality sushi in the city, absolutely the best yellowtail roll in LA. Second, almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. I mean actually gluten free (dedicated fryer, tamari, etc) AND you can get items not normally made gluten free (hello shrimp tempura and eel sauce, how I've missed you!!) If you're feining for a fix and happen to order a bit too hastily, no worries there either. While I was anticipated a full house, i was met with a fairly private dining experience. The customer service, ambiance, and food were outstanding. I ordered omakase and the chef made my experience memorable. I would absolutely recommend the omakase because I was able to try a couple apps, some sashimi, nigiri, and a dessert. Came here on Valentine's Day and the food and service were superb. This was our first time here and we will definitely coming back. Everything we ordered was soooo good. Started with the Toro sashimi which was so fresh and buttery. Next a few orders of saba and hirame sushi and then a hot dish the miso cod. Portion size for the cod was very generous. Every bite was mouth watering. I also ordered the udon as I was craving soup on a cold night and the flavors and noodles hit the spot. Only downside is parking but it's expected for this area. Some of the newer wait-staff can be a little inattentive at times, but this happening everywhere. The food is fantastic and there are some great original rolls. I recommend trying the Hye or Hye 2 as a starter while you decide on what rolls to get. I haven't had a bad roll yet. The restaurant is a bit small, but is very cozy. There isn't a bad place to sit in the whole place. On nights where it may be crowded, make a reservation in advance so you don't have to wait. Parking is scarce. The chefs wear cool hats and this adds to the cool-factor. read more

I have always passed by this restaurant but today was my first time eating there and it definitely will not be my last! I stick to my usual sushi spots but this restaurant topped them all. Now where do I begin? I called ten minutes before walking in and let the hostess know we are two adults and a baby... as soon as we walked in the host also the owner had a table ready for us. She already got a star for her common sense of putting us at the back of the restaurant where the booth wraps around and is more spacious rather than squeezing us in the middle of everyone else with no wiggle room. She then continued with her sweet hospitality and even offered rice, avocado slices and miso soup for my baby to eat. Our food was served at a timely manner and everything was delicious! The fish was so fresh and melt in your mouth! Although my baby was very active and didn't want to sit still after a while, I did not feel stressed out because Wendy, the owner, made me feel so at home. This was the first time since I've had my baby that I didn't feel rushed or ashamed for bringing a baby to a restaurant. She even tried carrying him a few times but "stranger danger" kicked in. The host emphasized that we had only until 10 pm because that's when a new party was coming, which is fine. But then she cared to emphasize that "we expect the full party to be here at 8 pm..." very passive aggressively. If my friend has work and is getting off late, what can I do about it? Plus, we finished easily before 10 pm so she really could've spared us her sass.
