The HIDDEN fee never mentioned or shown when you are paying your bill. Even the tip rounds wrong.

BEWARE OF THE AZAI FEE. My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. While the sushi is good - it's a decent sushi spot - chances are you, like us, will be the only people in the place. I was wondering how they stay in business. Well, since I eat out nearly every night, I know exactly when my bill feels a little too high. I paid it anyway thinking maybe I'm adding it up wrong and I also added the tip. I either hit the 20% or the 22% I can't remember but bare minimum I hit 20% cause that's the lowest I ever go thinking, hey something's off here. We'll come back to that. Your bill is presented on a Squareup POS machine but the screen only shows you the total. I had it email me an itemized receipt because the total seemed just a little high. Once we walked out of the restaurant, I waited and waited and waited. It took TWO hours for the receipt to show up in my inbox. Once you open the email, it still won't show you an itemized receipt because it says it's processing it. It is working to build you an itemized receipt to be viewable. I kept going back to the email over and over again throughout the day trying to get it to show me the receipt. It took until the next morning for the itemized receipt to finally show up and there it was just like I suspected a 16% "Azai fee" had been added onto the bill. It doesn't stop there. They TAX you on your total PLUS their fee! They're taxing you on the fee THEY added. Now if you want to add in your own gratuity for the server, absolutely fine, all day long, but you have to say that, show that, and print that. The fact that it is an "Azai fee" and not listed as a gratuity makes it shady like the owner is just pocketing this. Also if you look at the photo, it's not even calculating the tip percentage correctly. 20% minimum of that total should have been $21 and change. The two stars are for the woman who made our sushi. Won't be back.

I ordered the 16-piece roll for pick up. The store itself is a bit small and is usually packed for dinner. Fish quality was top notch and portions were good. The salmon and spicy tuna are a must. I wasn't a fan of the yellow tail but might try the blue crab next time. Definitely my new fave hand roll place in LA.

Fantastic and high quality fish. The flavor of each item was explosive. Prices were fair for each handroll, too. You can't complain given the quality. It's a super minimalistic spot with bar service only--similar to some other locales these days. The menu isn't extensive but what they do offer is top notch and makes it easy. Honestly, I'm into that.

This was a nice find as we were walking to neighborhood near our hotel. Service was attentive but better yet, the fish was as fresh as it gets! A bit expensive but otherwise definitely worth a try! The blue crab hand roll, mushroom hand roll, and albacore sashimi were my favorites. Ps they are pending their liquor license.

This review is long overdue, but never forgotten. Pierre and his team took extremely care on my husbands' and I anniversary in August. Pierre and his other half were wonderful and caring. They made it special with their hospitality and a free mochi dessert. The best couple and sushi in town!!

Vibe: super cute Service: owner is very friendly Food: get the tuna and yellowtail (has a lemon zing to it)! Really warm and the nori was crispy! Parking: classic meter street parking

Found this Resturant while walking by and it did not disappoint. Bar seating with ~15 seats. Hand rolls were reasonably priced and delicious. Each roll was timed perfectly and attentively.

Ordered ubereats from here and I really liked this spot for food delivery. I ordered the salmon, toro, yellowtail, scallop, and spicy tuna, and everything was pretty good. They are smaller rolls, but it was fairly priced based on size. The scallops were surprisingly my favorite, along with spicy tuna and salmon. I normally don't care for scallops, but they were good and creamy. I paid an extra +$2 for the yellowtail, and although the variety was nice, it wasn't worth the added price.

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.

It was definitely not what I've expected or ever experienced in a Japanese restaurant. We were quickly greeted by the staff and be seated by the wall. The upholstery of our seats were torn. The area where we were sitting was a bit too dark and could definitely add more lights for customers to see their menus. After giving a look at the menu, our server asked if we were ready. I said it's our first time so we need some time to look through the menu. She replied ok and left. We mainly ordered sushi items. Servers brought over each item one at a time. When I almost finished mine, my family is still waiting for theirs. You do see the staff walk by the tables constantly. However, I would hope the servers would ask how is everything and if we need anything else. Overall, sushi tastes fine. I probably won't be back given the experience that we had.

The space is intimate and classic--there are only about 20 seats at the main sushi bar and a couple of small tables tucked on the side, so seating is extremely limited.
