I have had the pleasure of dealing with Raj and Susan and, to a lesser extent, the employees at Castro Computer for at least six years without any problem. So, I was surprised to read about by the negative experiences described by others. Not only have they, and their employees, been professional and highly capable, but the service is competitively priced and the staff are very responsive to my service requests. Raj has visited my home on several occasions over the last six years, often on very short notice to resolve an urgent (at least for me) problem. In addition, Raj allocated a good deal of time to help me select, order and install a new desktop and printer. We discussed pros and cons of various pieces of hardware that allowed me to make a well-informed purchase decision. I am not particularly tech savvy and because of that, Raj has taken time to consistently and patiently acquaint me with the nuances of operating systems and, more importantly, to recommended software programs that have been invaluable including: remote connection and anti-span software. In a word, my experiences have been "exceptional" and I have never been dissatisfied with any aspect of the service provide by Castro Computer. Lastly and in the past, I have unequivocally recommend this business to both friends and colleagues and I would not hesitate to do so again. Eric Collier read more

Hey all. I have a few website domains and have had on and off server issues. I've called other companies- the geeks never showed and I also dropped one of my servers off at another repair shop and after 6 weeks of constantly trying to get information on my repair without any news I finally showed up and picked it up. I mentioned my problems to some friends and two recommended Castro Computer Services in Noe Valley. It's a drive for me from the East Bay and I just showed up with my server and not much hope. Since I'd been without this server for some time I paid extra for rush service and before I could even leave the city they called me back and told me what was up, what they could do, how much and how long the repair would take. I got a really professional estimate. I felt like they knew what needed to be done and I felt like they had seen this problem before. I really didn't feel like I'd didn't have to worry about whether this was going to work out or not. My computer was repaired on-time and UNDER BUDGET. Turns out, not too many people know about Castro Computer Services, but those whom I've talked to have very positive things to say. I will definitely refer people to Castro Computer Services. Thanks guys! read more

I was having quite a bad problem with my computer. Let me tell you about it. My old Apple computer was running very slow and a beach ball was constantly showing up on the screen. I had a messages that gave me an error 2 message. I found this repair shop after talking to my friends in the neighborhood about the computer repair places they had been to. They recommended this service center for the respectful way they treat their elderly clientele. I am older and had gone somewhere else but was not happy with how the young people at these other places talked down to me. This place has older professional people that did not talk mumbo jumbo to me. They spoke to me clearly and gave me information in a way I could understand. They told me about my options and gave me time to think about it. I found their manner reassuring and comforting. I chose to leave it in their capable hands and they cleaned up my machine at a very reasonable cost. I then had them come to my home to hook up my other computers to my printer into a network. I am a lawyer and I wish I could find help like this all the time for other things I need done. I am so happy I found these guys. read more

Castro Computers is great! The guy who helped me (Will) was friendly and helpful and I swear he knows everything! He took the time to explain to me what he was doing with my computer and why--without being condescending or getting frustrated with my lack of knowledge. I got the impression that he wanted to save me money, too--and NOT just waste my time so he could run up a big bill--so bonus points for fairness and honesty. Plus his rates are significantly less expensive than any other tech support around (I think Geek Squad charges twice as much per hour or something crazy like that). They look really busy - sort of a good thing (trustworthy) and a bad thing (I missed my computer). I got my computer back and everything was working better than before - free tools to keep my pc running well. Great Store, knowledgeable, friendly, and cheap! read more

I LOVE Castro Computer Services!!! They weren't the first company I used but will be the only one from now on. I recently bought a computer and used another company to install it. After missing the first appointment I gave them another chance and they did such a bad job I knew I had to find another company. That's when I asked my friends who they used and two of them suggested Castro Computers. I called Castro Computers and made an appointment for the very next day. They arrived on time and was very professional. Raj came out to my home office and transferred all my data, setup my email and gave me all my old contacts back, even installed free security software. I am really glad I found Castro Computers and recommend them to anybody who want proficient and timely computer help. read more

Castro Computers is the best! They are friendly and very helpful. No matter what the problem they are always able to assist not only in store but they make house calls. The provide support even after you leave the store--I called a month later with issues and they came over and walked me through the process/steps I needed in order to make my system work. I can't say enough nice things about the owners and hope that anyone needing computer work in San Francisco would give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm new to Yelp and googled computer repairs in SF. I am a beginning video editor and decided to move my editing station to a rack mount and do some upgrades. After receiving my equipment back I was happily shocked that the upgrades were at a level above than I originally asked for, with no increase in cost. Castro Computers has a very diverse and talented crew and they kept me informed at every step. I am a layman in computer technology and wanted good advice, and I got GREAT advice. read more

I have only been a beneficiary of your services as my friend is the person who deals with you. When we had an upgrade to Vista I was lost. To cut to the chase, your service man Raj was most helpful answering my dumbest questions with patience and humor. Three cheers for Castro Computer Services! read more
