I ordered the pavers online and just 9 days later we got all the pallets! Great customer service! Answering questions and scheduling delivery nicely. The delivery person was awesome! He arrived earlier, and patiently waited there until I got to the location 20 min later. Then he maneuvered through the slippery hillside slope to drop off the pavers at the best spot, near our planned walkway. They could drop off at the driveway as an easy option, but then we would spent way more efforts moving the pavers around to the hillside. Avoid at ALL costs!!! After a major installation around our entire pool, the blocks started to shift, crack and come apart after 4 months. There are gaps large enough to put my hand through now. When I called the owner to complain, he sent his forman out who said that there was "no drainage installed" and asked for another $12,000 to redo the job with drains. I have had 2-3 people out to assess the work - including a soils engineer - and they all indicated that the pavers were not installed correctly (soil not packed underneath and no drainage). The rain water is running into our pool making it unusable. The entire job needs to be completely redone. I hate posting a negative review (this is my first negative review on yelp after many positive ones), but this is the worst consumer experience I have ever had and we wasted over $15,000. Owner was unfriendly and unsympathetic. Please don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I am thrilled with the patio that CastleLite has installed in my backyard (picture attached). It was a decent size job, involving demo/removal of a concrete slab and installation of ~700sqft of pavers, a 10ft seating wall, and an electrical outlet on the far side of the patio. I talked to three or four companies and CastleLite offered a substantially better price, probably due to the fact that they manufacture the pavers themselves. Once we got the papers signed things moved quickly and the work was complete in around 1.5 weeks. My sales rep Steve Barsanti was great. He helped develop the vision for the project, and I am VERY glad that he suggested removing the concrete slab as it looks so much better now. He was very responsive and helped work through issues as they came up, such as adjustments to the shape and accommodating the schedule of city inspectors (for the electrical outlet). Thank you Steve! Wanted to write a quick review about how these guys REALLY came through for us. We have a vacation home in Clearlake Oaks and needed to complete a paver project in one weekend. There was hiccup with the delivery schedule as we needed 19 pallets and that meant 3 loads from their plant over 1 1/2 hours away. We recently completed construction on our new custom home in Westside Danville and elected to use CastleLite Block for our entire hardscape which included over 4,000 square feet of pavers (driveway, side yard, stoops, back yard) as well as retaining walls and a french drain. We could not be happier with the end result. We dealt with many subcontractors on this project and without a doubt, I have to put CastleLite at the top of the list. They showed up when they said they would and attacked the job with full force. Ricky oversaw the entire installation and his crew worked harder than any other sub we had on the job. If I ever had questions or needed anything, he was available. The Owner personally came out to review our overall landscape/hardscape plan and came up with much better ideas than our landscape architect did for how to handle the grading and setup in front of our garage and on our side yard. This didn't cost us a dime but the assistance was priceless. I will forever be grateful for that. I also love that they have a showroom in Alamo next to Ace Hardware so you can go touch and feel the products for yourself. I can't even tell you how many people have complimented us on our driveway...it looks amazing. Frankly I'm stunned that anyone could have given them a one star review and after reading that entire review/follow up along with my firsthand experience, it is pretty obvious the customer cut corners and didn't follow the recommendations. I highly recommend this company, they do it right. The bottom line is they are Diamond Certified and you don't get that designation without going through am exhaustive interview process of hundreds and hundreds of former clients. Extremely disappointing! After signing the contract, they were over 4 weeks late in completing the work, which was done intermittently and by no less than 4 different crews. They had to replace about 25% of the pavers due to poor manufacturing quality; things like chipped corners and whitish film that developed over the top (apparently they said it was a batch they made in winter, so why instal lit then?). The pavers are so uneven, visitors trip on them regularly and we cannot put and tables or furniture out without them wobbling. Very disappointing after spending nearly $25,000. Now, six months after they finished the job, the whitish film has emerged again and they are not returning any calls. Aargh! read more

We had a great experience with salesman/owner; John Espinoza and the demo/install crew headed up by Ricky. Wow my experience with CastleLite Block was a fantastic one. For my husband's birthday I thought that I would surprise him by taking out our old cracked backyard patio and install a new paver patio. The sales representative Derek Muller helped me pick out the best color that would complement our home. I like that fact that there were so many choices of colors, styles and patterns to choose from. I also asked that they install drainage from my downspouts to go under the new patio and drain away from the house. They scheduled the job very quickly and completed the whole job in just 2 days (While my husband was away on business). They said the job came with a lifetime warranty, which was reassuring, but I wasn't sure they would actually live up to their promise. As a first time reviewer ever, ever, you should know that I don't do this unless it is truly called for. We had a fantastic experience with Castlelite (Steve Barsanti and his crew). They all get five stars. We were concerned about drainage as we have a sloped driveway in the Oakland Hills and our garage typically floods in heavy rain. Steve worked with his team to determine the best slope for the driveway to ensure that the rain went off the driveway and not down the driveway to the garage. Additionally, they determined that the connection to our downspouts wasn't draining correctly, causing back up and more water in the garage. Our neighbors constantly complement us on the aesthetics of the project and I tell them about how our garage doesn't flood anymore. read more

The salesman, Steve, was very professional, informative and helpful with creating our design. The project manager, Jay, checked in periodically throughout the job. Checking that we were completely satisfied with the progress. But the real artists were the three men that did the work! They started at 8am on Thursday morning. First step : Demo of existing driveway. They completed the project Saturday by 130pm. The driveway is spectacular but the real jewel is the front porch. For me, this was an expensive purchase.
