Really good food. I had the biscuit and gravy special on Sunday today. Tasted really good. My waitress was a little slow and the eggs were cold, I dont like eggs anyhow so it wasnt a big deal and the food was good. read more

Great burgers, awesome beers and terrific service! One of my new favorite casual restaurants, especially fir watching sports.

Once one of my favorite places to eat in Durango, now not so much. A smaller menu and not very tasty.

Great place. Reasonably priced beer and wine, amazing root beer for the kids, and the best service I've had in years!! Very friendly staff. read more

Carver Brewing Co. - New American Near Me - Durango, Colorado

This used to be a favorite of mine. Its still good but has gone down a little in quality even prior to COVID.

3.5 food and beer are decent, service is very good. Atmosphere is nice. One of our favorite places in Durango.

During our trip to Durango, we actually enjoyed Carvers a little more than the "other" big name brewery in town. My wife and I went with a burger, which was very good. And they do these sidewinder potatoes that are awesome! They are basically thick, curly fries, perfectly crispy! Can't pass on them. The beer was also very good. We did the raspberry wheat and the home made root beer. Loved them both. read more

Driving south from Montrose, we decided to have an early lunch in Durango at Carver Brewing. We were disappointed that at 11:10 AM, they were only serving breakfast. Our breakfasts were very good however. My wife had one of the egg Benedicts and I had the special, steak and eggs. Service was excellent. read more

Before all this crazy stuff started this place was a regular for me. Great eats, beers and people. Looking forward to returning to indoor seating and weekly visits. read more

Great selection of beer. The selection was great for both of us. From IPA to stouts something for all. Friendly staff - glad we stopped there. read more

Incredible steak nachos! The patio area is refreshing--Comfortable and attractive. Service was hospitable, helpful, informed about the menu and craft beers. We will definitely make it a tradition to meet at Carver's every summer on our way to Telluride! read more

Always a go-to every trip to Durango. Friendly staff and good beer. Facility is nice and clean too.

My husband and I absolutely loved our food at this restaurant! It was so tasty and we had great service!

Between four of us, we had a wide variety of food and most of the beers, including a flight. All of the beers were good with something for everyone, even some fruity type beers. All of the food was very good, everyone was happy. If I lived here, this would probably be on the top of my brewery list. Also plenty of room inside and outside with a great back patio when the weather is good this would always be my choice. read more

Easy environment. Good music. Just got drinks so can't comment on the food but the price and service was alright

Outstanding. Delicious food, fast friendly service. Awesome atmosphere. I'd make sure you stop here.

Good service, friendly staff, and the steak sandwich was super delicious! Would highly recommend.

Place was ok. 8 people in our party and we were sat immediately on a Saturday night at 7:15pm. Service was eh. Out of 8 meals 3 were good. Others were either cold, wrong, or just ok. Really felt like we were over looked the entire time because we were not locals. Regulars may have better service and get what they ask for. Not sure. Beers were small and pricey. read more

Ately was an absolutely AMAZING waitress. She recommended the the best food and drinks ever. The food was top notch. We had the Hatch Chili burgers and they are not for the faint of heart. The are pretty spicy!!! The beer that they have there on tap are fresh and pretty damn great!!! I hope and wish that everyone could experience Ately as their waitress!!! Thank you for such a great time, you all rock and deserve more than 5 stars. read more

Well our server really hates her job. She was rude with taking order and didn't serve us our drinks. Instead she handed them to one person in our party and told us to pass them down to each person. Before getting our food the server comes to ask how we want checks split up. The server has no tact. When refilling drinks somehow lemonade turned into sprite. The food was underwhelming. Wait staff mixed up orders, and all the orders weren't correct. Refills were hard to come by, even for those of us that had water. read more

The beer is awesome, I had the Jackrabbit and I'll tell you what. That beer is perfect afternoon with their Takana burger.

We have been coming here since i was a baby, i always remember it being delicious and the bread bowls were my FAVORITE. Well its May 2023 and they no longer have bread bowls all of a sudden (they had them in winter of 2022) and it broke my heart because that is the only thing i like to eat here. The past 3 years weve come the food has been aiming for trendy and hip than delicious and home cooked. Its very dissapointing and my parents and i have decided we wont come back here. Last year the mushroom mac and cheese was rank, the mushrooms were tough and inedible. This year my father got the pork green chili sausage and it was terrible! The flavour was indescribeable (not in a good way) and the texture was of raw meat with a chewy casing, it was disgusting. The beer cheese soup was cold and not in a bread bowl, which i had already been upset about, and overall we were not impressed. Unfortunately this family tradition of 24+ years of coming to Carvers is over. I hope they realize that they need to focus on their loyal costumers who enjoyed the old home cooking style instead of trying to be trendy and popular with their weird inedible dishes. read more

We came into Carver last minute with a party of 16. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party and provide exceptional service! Our server Jessica was so sweet and amazing. We will definitely be back and we hope that the next party enjoys this place as much as we did! read more

We are locals and Carver's is on our regular rotation of dining spots. Friendly waitstaff, great service, and a wide varied menu that will please any diner. It is also a great place to take out of town family. . . even the kids. The main dining area has an awesome 'industrial chic' to it, but in nice weather We often enjoy the back patio. Carver's changes up the menu periodically but the Rueben sandwich is one my favorite meals. My husband prefers fish and has several frequent meals that he has enjoyed. And how can you talk about Carver's without mentioning the beer? Always fresh and crisp they range from pale to stout. read more

Was busy, but wait was less than the hostess estimated. Great service, excellent Fuzzy Palmer drinks and burgers

Went here for dinner tonight with my family. Everyone got a drink and entree and we got a pretzel as an appetizer for the four of us to try. I ordered the salmon pesto pasta, which is a twenty dollar plate. It came out the first time with luke warm salmon on top of ice cold pasta with cold sautéed vegetables like zucchini. I immediately told my server that the pasta was cold. She apologized and she said she would have remade. When my family was halfway finished with their meal my second attempt came out. This time the salmon was hot but the pasta and vegetables were ice cold. I told the server again and she asked if she could get me anything else which I told her I didn't want (due to my family almost being done at this point) and having received two cold dishes already. Although they removed the pasta which I had taken one bite of before giving it back for being disgustingly cold, they did nothing else to make this right. As a chef myself, with a child attending fort Lewis, I will absolutely make sure never to patron this restaurant again. read more

I loved this dinner! The two different brews, a stout and pale ale, were delicious and a great complement to the meal. We started with the potstickers that were slightly spicy with a fantastic saucy relish. Then we had the Southwest burger special and it was amazing with queso blanco, jalapeños, and green chilies. The fries were great with a side of fresh ranch. Great dinner all the way around! read more

Good buffalo burgers, huge portions, what more could you want after a long hike. Also decided on a bloody Mary with lunch, was delicious and well made. Will be back next year when we visit Durango, we loved their outdoor patio and open air feel of the restaurant. read more

I make it a point every time I come to Durango to eat at Carver's. Usually I come for breakfast because their breakfast menu is unique, fresh and filling. But this time we were coming from Pagosa Springs so we had lunch. My mom and I had the Caesar salad, Dad had the Pastrami Rueben, and my brother had the Cobb salad and soft pretzels. Salads - Fresh salad greens, a nice mix of capers, bacon, eggs, and avocado. I added tofu and it was great. Portion size is huge but what I liked was it was a nice mix and not overboard on the lettuce. The Rueben was a nice cut of meat, fresh kraut and bread nicely toasted. The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to accommodate on our meals. Always a fantastic experience! read more

Solid. We had brunch here, and the menu was large and versatile. My hubby had the huevos rancheros and I had the healthy scramble. They even accommodated my changed I wanted to make for the meal. Meals were pleasantly presented and tasted great! Service was extremely friendly and the place was clean. I enjoyed the fun facts about brewing on the wall and the ability to see the brewing through the glass. When we return, we would like to dine in the outside portion of the restaurant. Yes.. WHEN we come back! read more

Found this place on yelp. We have never been to Durango before. I have a lot of experience with micro breweries so my expectations were high. We were seated inside, but found out when going to the bathroom that they have a whole patio area with a really cool atmosphere! Got the Beef Tenderloin and IPA. Food was world class and beer was amazing. Will definitely go here again. read more

Great service, nice atmosphere. Quality of food average for price. I expected just a little better tasting fries, but they were cooled off before they got to my table. The menu said queso on burger, but a slice of white cheese kinda sweet and bland was on my burger instead. Ok, but my taste buds were set for queso on my buffalo bison burger. Then meat was good enough but had that frozen thing going. The plate had a great presentation and abundant. I would give four stars but i expected better meat pattie, it's taste was that of frozen too long. read more

My wife and I went to Carver Brewing co. and I got the Stuffed Lamb Burger (stuff with feta cheese and topped with tzatziki sauce, tomatoes and lettuce on a whole wheat bun) and the wife got the Green Chile Pork Soup bread bowl... Amazing! The soup was a tad too spicy for the wife (whimp) so we swapped and still were both happy. Chloe was great and fast with service. And checked on us many times. You guys rock! read more

When I travel, readers may have noticed a trend and may say to themselves...."Hmmm...does it seem like Lee writes a ALOT of reviews for local brewpubs??" Why YES I DO! And my Summer trip to Colorado was perrrfect for exactly that purpose. We decided to hit Carver's because it had good ratings on Yelp and we spotted it as soon as we rolled onto Main St. about 2PM on a Thursday. Upon entering, we were prompty given a 4 top in the front window and ordered a couple brews. The bartener promptly gave us 2 pints of homebrewed goodness - which were pretty darned good and were just what we needed at the end of a long drive from Texas. I decided to split 2 entrees with my son Grant - the Buffalo Burger and the Chicken wings - selfishly to facilitate me getting enough information to write a decent review. While we waited for our food, we checked out the premises and found out that Carver's sports a very nice patio way in the back. However, we were quite pleased with our window seats in the A/C on this unseasonably warm day in Durango. The Buffalo Burger was average as the patty was thin (or should I say lean) -and perhaps a bit overcooked (pardon me, but this this may be my ignorance of buffalo meat showing). We were not crazy about it. In the interest of fairness, this may be more of an issue of high expectations since it sounded like an exotic choice and we were very hungry! The spicy chicken wings were large, and the sauce had some kick. I enjoyed each and every one of those wings until I managed to fumble the last one and splatter sauce all over my best 'road trip' tee shirt. At least the wife and kids got a laugh out of that. Normally, I would rate Carver's with a rock solid 4 stars all day long - but Brewmaster Erik Maxon graciously gave my daughter and I a patient and very detailed Tour of their brewery - which easily earned Carver's the elusive 5th star from this Yelper. ----------------- Caveat; I HATE Erik Maxon because he has THE coolest freaking job on the planet. Although it is tough, sweaty work, and he gets to cook FREAKING beer - which...ahem...includes TASTING - HELL-LO!! Oh, THAT, AND he gets to live in Durango, CO. If there is EVER a freak 'brewing accident' at Carver's, just tell Inspector Clouseau that the suspect can probably be found in the stack of resumes for Erik's replacement. :-P read more

This place pissed me off. I was passing through town with my aging parents. I called ahead to make a reservation. They said they had a large group of Australians coming in, but they could seat us within 10-15 minutes. Cool. We showed up, and there is a table for 20-30 set up and empty, and the remaining few tables were occupied. Sure enough, the hostess said it would be 10-15 minutes. Cool. I grabbed one of the empty Aussie group chairs for my mom to sit in while we wait, because she has bad knees and can't stand very long and they have no waiting area. Then walks in a couple after us looking for a table. They obviously knew the hostess, and she went off and made a table work for them immediately. In doing so, the waitress had the fucking nerve to come over and ask my mom for the seat she was using to GIVE TO THE COUPLE THAT CAME IN AFTER US! Not cool. Why not take one of the Aussie group's chairs? They weren't even there yet? Here we are -- paying customers, and you're making us wait for a group that's not even there yet, and you let a couple locals pass us in line while asking my disabled mother to stand? Get a clue. This isn't how to operate a business in a tourist economy. We left -- there are too many other good restaurants close by. Steamworks Brewery was happy to have us, and their beer was great. read more

Friendly staff, great food, and fun atmosphere! Breakfast was phenomenal And they had great brunch cocktails!

I'm such a kid in a candy store when it comes to craft beer. Eh, who am I kidding, let me rephrase that: I'm just a prostitute. A cheap, attention-starved prostitute. I will totally demean my inner sanctum for a taste of that malty, hoppy, sudsy nectar of the Gods. Carver Brewing has officially become one of my favorite brothels in Durango. Talk about easy. There were 10 pours on tap when I entered; upon exit, I'd had relations with eight of 'em and I was taking a growler of the Dubbel home, where I might have my way with her all night long. Carver offers tastings (fourplay?): four snifters run ya $10, so my wife and I went ahead and ordered two (that's right, we're total swingers). No surprise, the everyday pours (Pale, Amber, Lager) were pretty pedestrian encounters, but the adventurous stuff, like the Belgo, Schwarzbier and Barleywine, were really sexy and seductive. The food looked good, but we decided to be completely debaucherous and just get dessert, which was insanely divine: white chocolate mascarpone, anyone? Hello! Service was so terrific I wanted to act like my kid and give 'em stickers, they earned 'em. This place goes alongside Steamworks as a favorite Red Light Beer District haunt. Oh, me so thirsty! read more

We came at 3:30 because the bartender/owner of the distillery up the street suggested the beef tips. Unfortunately they are on the dinner menu and they do not start the dinner menu until 5. So, we decided to just have a couple drinks and appetizers and thought we'd get dinner later. Between 8 of us, we had angel wings, brussel sprouts, nachos and stuffed mushrooms and every one of those items blew us away. Those brussel sprouts are worth the trip all by themselves. So we stuck around and ate and drank until 5 until the dinner menu kicked in. We were not disappointed. Beef tips and mashed potatoes were delicious. Peach cobbler for desert was also fantastic. Brewery pub yes - but wow!!!! Zach was our server and was probably sick of us by the time we left - but he took great care of us. Thanks Zach! read more
