Food, service and ambiance were all great!! The burger and pulled pork sandwich were delicious! We will definitely be back to try other food options read more

Had a fantastic experience here! Came in after walking along the adjacent Animas River greenway. Great variety and selection of beers, including ones that can not only be harder to find, but harder to get right...they got all of their beers right and I highly recommend the Helles & Kolsch & Gose (the pilsner malts make all the difference if you, like me, are not usually as Gose-style drinker), as well as doing a taster sidexside of the Hogsback Black and LowFlow Stout (both on Nitro when I went). Tho the absolute standout for me was the Upper A Imperial Red! Staff is great, friendly and even the regulars will have beernerd level convos! Food is also awesome! They serve Pasties (pronounced "pas-tee") here...if you don't know what they are, they are basically caucasian empanadas and can go savory or sweet. I ordered FOR THE BIRDS "Beer roasted chicken, applewood bacon, potato, carrot, scallions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Served with sarsaparilla BBQ & ranch", and yes it was as delicious as described! Come hungry + thirsty and leave content! read more

We had our two small dogs with us so we were directed to their pup friendly seating. They have a small table and some half picnic tables out front that are shaded for a good portion of the day. I wish they had been a bit further apart as there were others that arrived with their pups and it bunches everyone together. All the dogs got along, but it was crowded. We had a server that came out and gave us info on what was currently on tap as well as the food menu. I chose the Low Flow Nitro Stout, my husband had the What's Up Wit. My daughter went with water. For food, she and I both ordered the Banged Up Pasty. I must say, I was excited to see a place that has a whole section of Pasties, they are not something you find everywhere but a favorite of our family. The pasty we selected was flaky crust filled with mashed potatoes and bratwurst. It came with gravy as well as grainy mustard. Delish!! My husband went with the Fish & Chips. They did not disappoint. In addition to the pup seating area, they have an extensive patio as well as indoor seating. Our service was great, the food delicious and the beers tasty and refreshing. read more

Beer is really good, but service is inconsistent. The Lost Souls Lager is our favorite beer of the trip, and we've got lots of four packs in the fridge right now to prove it. We ended up eating here tonight. Cheese curds are ok, yet a little rubbery for my taste. My wife liked her shepherds pie pastie, while I wasn't wowed by my Dip in the Animas pastie. Crust was fine, but the filling left a little to be desired for me. Service was friendly but lacking at times. To be fair, it was pretty much our waitress and one other guy, so while they tried, there were gaps at times. However, love the beer! read more

Excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was wonderful. My bacon burger was cooked well, and the bacon was the perfect mix of savory and crispy. As a railfan, I have the say with maybe some bias, the location right by the train bridge over the river is amazing, and it was super helpful for a quick meal between trains. I would definitely eat here again if I'm in the area! read more

Sour - very good. Imperial IPA - very bad. Good service. No dogs here now. Didn't try the food.

The beers were all decent-- nothing outstanding or super unique. Both burgers ordered by my group were just okay. Generally, a bit overdone and dry. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There is a lot of good indoor and outdoor space, and great access to the river walk trail. read more

Food is cooked to order, and smells more amazing than it looks. Great fare menu for anyone. The atmosphere is inviting, comfortable and clean. The service has locals that make a great family friendly banter sketch. It sits by a river and has a lodge vibe. There is outdoor seating for seasonal folks. The beer menu is rotating but year rounds are on tap. Good food, good beer, good god that's a cheers read more

Durango is one of my favorite Colorado towns. It is surrounded by mountains, water wildlife and amazing food. Animas brewing company provides excellent food, along with a host of their own local brews. Located along the Animas river and walking trail, provides a peaceful ambience to your meal. The service is excellent as everyone make sure that you have what you need and what you've ordered is good. If you're in Durango, and finished long hike, or maybe filled your bucket full of fish or just finished the tour of Mesa Verde. This is the place you want to go to cool off and refill your tank. read more

The patio is a great spot to watch the train while visiting Animas Brewing Company. The service, food, and drinks were all amazing.

Service, food and atmosphere were all great. Very laid back which we needed after a day of hiking.

This was our first time here. We drove up to visit the campus at Ft. Lewis. A friend had recommended this brewery to us. So we headed here after the tour. The parking situation is a little sparse, but there is a park across the street and you can park there. This place seems like it could get really busy at times, but thankfully when we got here for a late lunch, it wasn't. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the scenery. The hostess at the front, handed us some menus and informed us to come back up and order when we were ready. We decided to try out the brew house pretzels, made in house and soft. These were good. They served it with their corner pocket dip and their brewers' mustard. My family ate it up before I could even enjoy one whole piece. For our entrees, we decided on; dip in the Animas. Which was a pasty called Dip in the Animas. This one had roast beef with peppers, onions and swiss cheese. I loved the horseradish sauce it was served with. Very flavorful. Also purchased some of the burgers as well. The JW, had beef and smoked brisket. It had a flavorful BBQ sauce included as well. It was tasty! The other was the Reub, which had beef and fresh corned beef. It was topped with beer kraut, swiss cheese and thousand dressing. It was devoured. All the entrees we had were good. We enjoyed our dining experience, thank you! read more

Durango Trip; We found this place after rafting the river and was mighty hungry, super cute place with inside and outside seating. Food; Got the burger that is infused with different options, this may have been one of the best burgers I have ate before, cooked to perfection with a nice crisp side salad. The beer menu is changed depending on the brews, super Yummy! Service; order at the bar and they will bring the food out to you. read more

do you want the good news first or the bad news? okay i'll start with the good, since it's shorter. the beer was quite good, we got the fisherman's kolsch and one of the IPAs, both were very nice. the food was okay. the bad news is that the food was, as i said, just okay. the service was also okay, the waitress was nice but she did cough all over the table. the food took forever to come out and my boyfriend was told the soup was "slightly smaller than an entree". the soup was in fact much smaller than an entree. cozy atmosphere, nice people, 10/10 environment, wouldn't willingly go again read more

Stopped in for a pint. They gave me free samples filled with AMAZING service. Thanks TEAM!

Animas Brewing Company is one of our favorite stops when we are in Durango! So even though COVID has changed a lot currently we had to grab a to-go order of their delicious pasties and beers while we were in town! All dine in is currently closed and they cannot sell beer after 8pm, but as long as you're prepared and know what to expect you will have a great experience! You can order in person or over the phone. You can enjoy a beer outside while you wait for your food order. They have a good variety of craft beer options and a delicious food menu. We had three different pasties during this trip and all three were delicious. We had the no meater, the Irie, and the Dip in the Animas, with the last being the most delicious. They package the orders well done travel and include napkins and utensils. One of the best things about this place is the atmosphere. We are so looking forward to life resuming to normal to enjoy the full experience here. Until then, they are doing a great job and make sure you visit and show them support during these difficult times! Pros: *Good beer and good variety *Delicious food *Great location *Great atmosphere *Can enjoy a drink outside while you wait Cons: *None that aren't COVID's fault ;) read more

4 of us stopped in to have lunch on Saturday at about 1 pm. The service was fairly prompt. However, the food was super slow in coming out. After about 20 minutes server came back and said to me the kitchen made a different salad from what you ordered. He asked if that okay can you just have that one. I replied with No! That salad has nuts and I'm allergic to nuts. They proceeded to make me a new salad. However, both my husband and his friend got different meals than what they ordered. Only my friend got her correct food. 1/4 meals correct. Thats pretty awful! And no offer of any compensation! Horrible customer service! Won't go back!! read more

Beer was decent. Misleading about being dog friendly though. You may enter, you may leave your dog tied up outside the bar, or you may sit with your dog outside on their driveway in the sunlight. Quite apparent nobody who works here or owns Animas owns a dog - this is the farthest thing from dog friendly I've ever seen. Put up some umbrellas or ditch the qualifier of being "dog friendly". read more

I was extremely excited to try this brewery. First stop while on vacation. The beer wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I didn't hate it but didn't want another. You order at the front counter and they eventually bring you your food. (They ask where you're going to be sitting). My Boyfriend and I waited for over an hour for our food. I got the Harvest Strawberry Special. It was extremely under whelming. The spinach was warm, the strawberries were warm, and not very much dressing (the dressing wasn't bad). The guy who took our order tried saying they didn't have the salad. We pointed out that it was on a chalk board right by the door advertising it. He called out to the kitchen staff and asked if they had strawberries. They confirmed they did and he then added it to the order. My boyfriend got one of the burgers. He ate maybe a third of it? Said it tasted like a frozen patti. I can't say as I didn't try it. (It didn't look very appetizing. Over all, I truly wouldn't recommend. The only nice thing I can say is there is places that you can sit at to eat with your dog and the view is pretty. read more

Went here while visiting Durango. We felt very welcome in this venue. We didn't eat but had a couple of beers and chatted with the owner for quite a while. The beers were well composed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family. read more

Been here twice recently. Both times food was excellent, service good, staff friendly. Beer was very good.

As we brewery hopped our way through Durango, Animas was a must. The place wasn't very busy, but we felt a little ignored at the bar as the bartenders offered people with full glasses a second round before coming to us. That being said, the servers were kind once we finally got a hold of them. After grabbing our beers, we headed out to the patio and enjoyed our drinks while watching bikers and the train go by. Needing a little snack to tide us over, we ordered the pretzel to share. Now I'll preface that we're big pretzel people and have had our fair share of them to compare. In our option, the pretzel sticks themselves were very good, but the sauces could use a little work. May be a party of 2 over here, but sweet mustard is always such a disappointment. We want that Dijon or spicy mustard with a little kick to it! Unfortunately, the cheese wasn't much better, kind of mushy and little flavor. Food aside, the drinks were on par, and the location was great for kicking back and enjoying the nature. Will definitely be back on our next trip. read more

This is probably the oldest micro brewery in Durango and it has a nice feel to it in its location next to a park by the river. The brown ale is always one of my favorites here and the food is decent as well. Nice outdoor seating area. read more

Check your bank accounts after eating here!! Added a $20 tip to a $54 bill after I left a $10 cash tip. No accountability for the server was held and she was strongly defended. This isn't the first time I've heard of them adding money to people's bill. Straight theft!!! read more

First off, the location and parking situation suck. There are maybe 5 parking spots for the brewery. If it's a busy night plan to park and walk a few blocks away. Or just don't go, you're better off. Secondly, this place is not dog friendly. This has got to be the only place in Durango that does not allow dogs on their patio. And lastly, I stood in the entrance next to the sign that says "Please Wait To Be Seated" for over 10 minutes and not a single staff member acknowledged me. I turned around and left after that. I did not even need to try their beer to leave a review. Everything starts with customer service and obviously that was lacking. read more

Went there on 9/19/21 for lunch. We very excited to come here after looking at their menu. When we walked in they are opened tables and decent size patio. So you have to wait to get seated but then you have to go back inside to order everything. Then they ask where you are sitting. So you have to give them the area where your table is. We ordered the boxcar red, which was more of a hoppy red. Nothing special at all. For food we ordered the Pastees. When they came out we saw they were hand pies. We ordered the Irie and Banged Up. No flavor at all. Learn how to season. This just was not good at all. There is no customer service at all. So why did I tip? Good area near the park. But that's it. read more

We had just had brunch so we didn't get any food but we did a flight of each beer available. I have to say- no beer was horrible. But we get beer flights all the time and try to find new breweries to love and hands down, the description of each brew was to detailed AND most accurate we have ever experienced. We love the local vibe there also the bartenders knew the patrons by name and/or drink- love those kinds of environments. Makes me want to be a local to the area . Keep doing what ur doing Animas Brewing Company read more

Found this place recently. Stop in for a beer or two after I walk the Animas River Trail. Part of my physical therapy routine. Craft beers are very good. Typically the service is great and the servers and bartenders are awesome. However, I stopped in today and the bartender/server, Lydia, was rude from the time my elderly father and I walked in the door until we left. I will be back but not when she's working. My review would have been 5 stars had I never met her. read more

Service was not accommodating to our family of 7! Hostess was unhelpful and rude. Tried to eat here with our family and had poor service right at the start. We asked if we could eat outside on a near empty patio and the hostess wanted to seat us at a round table that didn't fit our family since we needed a high chair. The table they sat us at inside was dirty, sticky and very tight for our party. We asked if we could put two empty tables together outside since they were empty, the hostess replied, "No, I already told you where you could sit, those are your two options." She forgot the third option...... and we left. read more

nice location. near rotary park and river. we sat on the patio and could here the music from the bandshell. we ordered our beers from the cashier and were seated outside with the menus. after deciding i went back to the cashier because there were no servers. there was a line of people out the door. i asked did i need to wait in line to order and the reply was yes. i went back to my beer and we pondered going somewhere else to eat. after 10 minutes the line was gone and i ordered. the burger was ok. the salad with chicken was better. went to pay the bill and there was a line again. i asked the bartender if i could pay him and he tried but the 'system was locked up'. finally we got out of there. ok place to hang out if you want a beer and have lots of time on your hands. i would suggest dining somewhere else. read more

Ample seating indoors and outdoors. A block away from Main Street. Right off the Animas waking/biking trail. Super dog friendly. Easy going staff, casual atmosphere. Beer selection was good enough. We had the fish sandwich with a salad instead of chips. Fish was awesome, The bun was a perfect combination of soft and crispy edges. Blue cheese dressing was nice, plenty of salad. Good vibes really pretty patio and nice and clean inside seating. Good beer. Food not so much. They say pet friendly. But you are required to keep the pups outside the fence of the patio apparently.
