Not an OMG pizza, not a memorable can't-wait-to-come-back pizza, but it was fine for what it was (the house special with sausage, mushrooms and red pepper). With tax and tip, one pizza, two salads, one glass of wine: $70.26. I goofed. I ordered a salad and one of the salad dressing options was a lemon oil vinaigrette. But when I ordered it, I just specified lemon oil and left off the word vinaigrette. So they brought me a ramekin of lemon oil. I guess I should've flagged someone down to fix it but then again if someone had come around to see how our food was that would've been an opportunity to take care of it. August 24, 2024. Saturday. Lunch. Visited here on the advice of one of my wife's friends. We decided to sit outside as it was a lovely day in Durango. Molly, our server, attentively refilled our water and brought our cocktails out before the pizza. I ordered a Durango Smash cocktail ($13). This featured anejo tequila, agave nectar, fresh lemon juice and topped with Grand Mariner. It had a sour finish and I liked it on a warm day. Very refreshing. The pizza was called the Fired Up ($22.75). This came with roasted red bell peppers, fennel sausage, mushrooms and a margherita base. As they were making the pizza I walked to the back bathroom. The kitchen folks aren't wearing hair nets or beard masks. They seemed a little "loose" with the hygiene back there. This came into play when I ate my pizza. The pizza came with large expanses of no toppings at all, just sauce. The last slice of pizza had a long brown hair baked into it. Neither my wife nor I have long brown hair! This made me sick to my stomach as I had previously removed a small hair from another slice I thought was my own. I told Molly and she comped that pizza, but damage was already done. Wonderful outdoor patio, delicious pizza, appetizers and drinks were delicious. Our service was okay - it was the 4th of July so we knew it would be busy. We weren't checked on very often. They are dog friendly, but on the patio only we had to walk up to the podium twice in 30 minutes to check on an available table since we saw one open for quite some time and they were like, "oh you can take that one!" But they wouldn't have sat us if we didn't ask, so that was strange even though we were on the waitlist/with a dog. But this was by far the best meal we had all weekend! We stopped here after the round trip train ride to Silverton. I like pizza but am very picky. The pizza was delicious!! We ordered the meat special. Next time I would ask for crispy crust. It was good, not too soft on the bottom, but I like a crispy bottom. I did need to support the tip of my slices with my fork but just the very tip. The arugula salad was delicious!! The service and atmosphere were great. The chairs are super uncomfortable though. If you're a woman over size 10, ask for a bench seat (half booth) or sit outside. We were planning to ho back again the next day but never made it back to Durango. It will be a definite stop on future visits. read more

There was very little sauce on the pizza which was disappointing. As for the inside, there's vents everywhere you sit, so I got blasted with the air conditioning. I'm a pizza snob (New Yorker), and this pizza was super delicious. I was in Durango for 3 days with my son and daughter. We went here on our first night on my son's insistence since he was here a few months prior. Paige served us and she made us feel like regulars and well cared for. On our last night in town, my son wanted to go back... and we did. Again, the service (Molly) was top notch... answering all of our questions and making us feel like friends. On both nights, I had a La Cumbre Elevated IPA... I'm also a beer snob from the Bay Area... and this IPA was super solid. I'd rank it better than many of our local IPAs. My only complaint was the Cannolis we ordered on our first night. Originally a New Yorker, this is a staple desert at Italian eateries. The filling should be ricotta cheese-based giving it a heavy texture. The Cannolis here had a smooth, lighter filling that was not at all unpleasant, but it just wasn't what you'd expect from a Cannoli. read more

Cool atmosphere, everything you would expect from a wood fired stove pizzeria, friendly servers, and delicious pizza and cocktails. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and the superior pizza, and house salads. Pizza have the perfect crust, the right shoe and just the right amount of dark brown crust. And the toppings were fantastic. The pepperoni was not any regular pepperoni. One pizza feeds two people easily. Highly recommend this place.
