When I arrived in Durango, I was starving! I had just landed and my sister said that we had to go to 11th Street Station to eat. Lucky for me, they had so many food options from all the food trucks and a bar at the center. I decided to eat at the slider food truck and ordered one fliet mignon slider and the Cajun fries. They give you a buzzer to let you know when the order is ready. During that time, we walked around to some of the other food trucks to check out their menus. We ended up grabbing at table just in time before we experienced torrential rain. Mind you, it had been sunny and 78 degrees just five minutes before and suddenly was freezing. Well, my version of freezing. Finally the buzzer went off and my sister picked up my order. We all shared the Cajun fries because the portion was definitely shareable and they were so good. The filet slider really impressed me! The blue cheese and caramelized onions were the perfect touch. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Durango! read more

The "Backcountry" truck was on a 50 minute wait and they weren't that busy. Heads up, this place is very slow. I think they take a couple orders and then drive to Denver to get the ingredients and then start making it. Incredible business model. read more

We are visiting our son and his fiancée and they brought us here for dinner. Located on a busy corner of downtown, it is more of a compound. It is part open, part covered, with an inside bar but outside tables. Fenced in, there is a main entrance where everything is explained by a nice person and then you're shown to a table. We had a nice female server that took care of our drinks, there is an area to serve yourself water, and various cool food "trucks". My wife, son, and his fiancée ordered from the one serving tacos and other options. I ordered from a train car that served pizza. They give you a buzzer and when it lights up you go pick up your food. The others enjoyed their food and my pizza reminded me of when I was in Rome. Delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating g options, for going in December, it was nice to be able to enjoy the outdoor patio. Great beer selection, have a nice cocktail menu and wine selection. I had lunch here on a whim today. It looked cool, so I decided to do it! It's an old filing station that's been converted into a space for several food trucks. At the front, the hostess explains how it works and has much-appreciated glasses of ice water ready for thirsty diners. I carried mine with me as I walked around. Choose your truck, order your meal, and have a seat outside or in the station, where it's much cooler. There's a full bar inside the station, and servers come around to take your drink order. You can refill your water there, too. When you're finished, leave your dishes on the table, and someone will clear them for you. It's a great place to people watch, and everyone in your party can choose something different. read more

11th Street Station is an easy recommendation just based solely on variety of options where you will be able to find something good for your party. From Uncle Fixins we got the Adovada baked potato which has red pork chili and an egg and was an absolute highlight, one of the best baked potatoes I've ever had. The red pork was spicy but not too overpowering to make spice the only factor of the meal. From Avalanche Bowl Co we got the Ahi Poke Bowl. The bowl was pretty standard for poke bowls with a large amount of vegetables and a descent portion of ahi tuna. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Durango, CO and I go often, since most of my family lives there. I love that we can all go, (sometimes that's 15 of us), at a moments notice, find something yummy to eat and a table big enough to sit together - lots of tables inside and out, (heat lamps when cold) as well as some comfy couches. 11th Street Station is in the heart of downtown Durango. It's a service station themed food truck hub, (seven in all), encircling Ernie's bar. It has a fun industrial vibe complete with oil cans, hub caps and bay doors. 11th Street Station has some history to it - it was once a gas station in the 1920s, then tire shop, then back to a gas station, owned by Ernie Schaaf for 48 years. Over the years the property changed hands many times, it was once a bank, a window shop and even a church! The food choices are plentiful, even the pickiest eater will find something! Some of the options are pizza, paninis, sliders, food bowls, fried chicken, soup, salad and cocktails. On this particular evening the three of us all ordered from the Backcountry Gourmet Food Truck. My husband had BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders, as always this is freshly made with grass fed beef and is really delicious. I had the Filet Mignon Sliders. These filets were perfectly cooked, with blue cheese crumbles, spinach, garlic aioli and caramelized onions. The Zucchini Sliders included panco-crusted fried zucchini, arugula, apple-jicama coleslaw, tomato and chipotle ranch. These sliders taste like you are at a fine dining restaurant. Even though the portion size is good I'd recommend ordering two, especially for dinner. The fries come in a large bowl, we shared an order of Truffle Fries and had a couple orders of regular fries too. If you like truffle oil you will absolutely love these fries. Do check this place out, you won't be disappointed, they even have "Durango's Largest Dog Patio". read more
