I love this place, the street tacos are delicious and affordable and the nachos are so yum!! The patio is so lovely too.

My mom and I stopped in here for coffee and beer while awaiting our room to be ready at the Leland House. It is such a chill environment where time seems to slow down. There are dogs, areas of shade and sun to sit, a full bar and food. They only have drip coffee and cold brew in the afternoons (kind of a bummer), but it was better than nothing. I would've loved to come back to try their breakfast but our flight home was early the next morning. This place is really central to everything and you can walk drive or bike here. Great summer breakfast! Dog friendly patio, plenty of seating, coffee bar, and lots of options for food. Order at either the outside shack (in back) or at the counter inside. Breakfast is Mexican inspired - tacos, bowls, and quesadillas. We opted for a bowl and a quesadilla. Both were piping hot and very well made. Neither was spicy, but both were full of flavor. A great find on our stroll around Durango we shared a 3 taco plate with rice and beans. We had chicken (flavorful with a hint of spice) shrimp ( freshly grilled) and mahi mahi ( wonderfully seasoned) . We sat outside and enjoyed the cooler weather. Great bar with drafts and mocktails. read more

We enjoyed our late morning breakfast so much the first time, we came back two days later and ordered the exact same items! This cute patio dining spot has a lot of dog-friendly outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade and some tables under a covered roof if weather is not cooperating. Breakfast quesadilla with Carne Asada was delicious and plentiful; served with a side of fresh fruit and a little salsa. Chorizo breakfast tacos came with two tacos, sliced avocado and salsa. Cappuccino and drip coffee from the coffee bar near the front patio were also delicious. Great place to take a break and relax/refresh when walking around historic Durango. I have no idea who's reviewing this place so favorably but it's nowhere near worth the price you pay. For walk-up service where they bring your food to your table (no inside tables available as there's very little seating so we had to sit outside) it was SUPER overpriced for what we got. My jaw dropped when they told us how much it was going to be for two people for breakfast. The food was mediocre, the service was fine. I was even recommended this place by a local but this was one of the places in Durango that made me feel like I was paying LA prices for Newark quality. read more

First let me start by saying, my food has been great and consistent in flavor, I ordered the mahi mahi taco and the panela taco (twice now). The environment is lovely and relaxing one block off the Main Street. The staff is friendly as well. I believe the problem here is the concept. No one greets you, you have to "figure out" how to traverse this business. Basically, you do everything but make the food and bring it to your table. Not sure why a tip is being requested unless they are going to hand you money for your great self service. I believe the meaning of the "food service industry" has been lost on what could be an outstanding eatery. This is a small tourist town with a lot of restaurant choices where your repeat business is based on everything, from the minute you enter the establishment, I would truly like to see this business succeed, let's see if the owners take feedback seriously. read more

This place is cute and very welcoming but the food is extremely disappointing and overpriced. The green chili on the smothered burrito was the consistency of water and no flavor. The carne asada didn't seem to have any flavor either. I did enjoy the avocado toast though. Sweet spot to hang out. however, hate to say it, but the tacos missed the mark. The fish and carne asade tacos were good, but the others ended up being some type of meat product that just didn't taste right. Guac also missed the mark. At 10:45 am Tuesday. We walked into a bustling marketplace like setting with orange umbrellas. You notice a sign that says to give order to bar tender. I walked up some wooden stairs, 8" risers, a bit tall but manageable. Two restrooms. Waiting line. One restroom remained locked the entire time we were there. The coffee was adjacent to the cash register by approximately 5' square area at the main entrance? Optioned for small cup of coffee. Delicious but cup is VERY hot and rounded like half a ball so coffee sloshes unabated. Upon my second walk back to coffee dispenser I asked the young lady, :) behind the cash register if I could use a to go cup instead. She poured my tiny round cup of coffee into a to go cup. Service was bad. Walked in a few feet behind my partner to see the bartender or manager shaking his head theatrically and rolling his eyes at my boyfriend as he walked to the back of the restaurant, innocently enough. There used to be a window back there that you ordered from and it had been awhile since we had been there. I found that his obvious snarky body language was really rude and over all inappropriate. We ordered, tipped the dude, who hadn't even bussed the tables yet, and a quite a bit later after we had sat (no one else ordered anything) he brought coffee to the ladies next to us apologizing for the delay. Over all I was turned off. And then my food came out way way way later than my boyfriends (who ordered after me) and he had already finished his meal by the time mine arrived. We love Lola's place and love the food. But the male manager or employee or whoever just really rubbed us the wrong way and my only advice to that guy is to keep your judgements and opinions off your face, sleeve, gestures ect. It probably wouldn't have been such a rude experience if I hadn't seen him mocking my boyfriend. read more

Riding by on the bike and decided to stop on a Sunday AM. They warned me if you want breakfast order in the next 5 minutes because the kitchen is strict about the breakfast to lunch changeover. Ordered 2 chorizo breakfast tacos and a large coffee. Sat outside at the bar. Tacos came up quickly; hot and tasty, really good sauce/salsa on them. Coffee was good. We came after having a nice experience the day before at a similar concept. We grabbed a seat near the sidewalk with our large dog we were traveling with. There are a couple of spots you can order drinks and one stand which you order all food. The bartender was nice, knowledgeable and offered our dog a treat. That was all that was good about this place. My wife tried the poke bowl. It took 20 minutes to come out (enough time for us to decide to go somewhere else). The poke bowl had tuna (6 large squares in some type of aioli), tons of avocado, rice and soy sauce. It was not good. She fed most of it to our dog before we left for the next place. read more

Cute restaurant off the beaten path. The hostess in the foyer was very helpful and explained the different dining concept at Lola's. Coffee and tea can be ordered inside the restaurant; the food kiosk is located outside and offers Mexican and Asian fusion cuisine which is ordered at the window and a number is given to be placed on the table. The outside bar area is another stop for drinks. Definitely not a sit-down and be served dining experience. There's a lot of moving around to round up food and drinks. Lola's is quaint, pet-friendly, plenty of outdoor seating and good SWCO vibes. Food portions are small and prices are on the high side given the quantity of food, i.e., one small street taco is $5.00. We enjoyed our time and will definitely return for a "lite bite" and drink. I"m not sure whether I'm rating Cuevas or Lola's but will stick w/ here since they look adjacent with one another. Plenty of delicious options for breakfast bowls, burrito bowls, tacos, breakfast tacos etc. Stayed at the Rochester across the street and came here for breakfast twice, coffee twice, lunch once and an order to go for lunch once and all were GREAT. Love love love their Mexican fare - especially burrito bowls - I also had the street tacos and they were delish. Carnitas to die for - some of the best I've had. The thing I love about this place is the flavors are authentic and it's not one of those Mexican places that leave you bloated for the rest of the day because the food is over salted and heavy. Son and friend had asada, I had carnitas. One time just had scrambled eggs with tomato and avocado and alittle cheese. They are flexible, happy to go off menu and friendly. The best place in town to sit outside with friends and family. Taste coffee is superb and meets the highest standards for espresso enthusiasts with their local roasters and owners. I wish I had better things to say about Lola's. Organizationally it's a bit of a cluster and not well thought out. It took very long time in line to get our order in in about five times as long to get the food and when we did, it wasn't correct, and one parties dishes was missing altogether. We noticed another group who actually refunded because one of their items never made it to the table. When the food finally did arrive, it was good but no better than that. It's disappointing too because it's a cute little set upand has a lot of potential but it seems there are too many things. They're trying to do too many different stations within a small place. Husband enjoyed a dirty chai (top notch) and I had a mimosa, simple and delicious! what a cute place, we ate inside but the patio was enticing with serapes draped over the chairs for warmth.
