Overall a nice experience with a couple of things to improve. The day we came, we had to pay $25 parking at the uncovered parking lot across the street due to"event" parking. I guess "event" being the concerts going on at the Fremont experience. That's one of the reasons I don't like to come to restaurants in the downtown area, parking is always a hassle! Foodwise, I really like the gyro taco. The seasoning is on point with the yogurt sauce on top. The "taco" shell is lightly toasted and thin which is great. I hate it when the shell is too dough-ey. The bbq oysters are good too, it's not overly cooked as the oyster would shrink and become rubbery. The seasoning is light and simple, brings out the oyster flavor. The cheese burger is smash burger style, can't select how well you want the beef cooked. We still enjoyed it since it's well executed. The rainbow cauliflower is not rainbow enough (hardly any other colors besides the white) so visually, it doesn't stand out. I do like that it's cooked it with fresh garlic, however, there's too much watery sauce at the bottom. It also has too much lemon juice in the dish. The only thing I don't like totally is the tempra green beans. Thank God they chose the right kind of batter to coat the green beans. However, they didn't coat them the right way so most of the beans got stuck together. The service is standard. It could get really loud inside as there is no insulation in the ceiling to absorb the sound ( it's an exposed ceiling). At the end of the meal since there were more people in the dining room, it got too loud for us to carry a pleasant conversation so we paid the bill and left. Wow. This restaurant is just blocks from Fremont Street, but once you get through the door the chaos of Fremont feels miles away. Staff was friendly and helpful accommodating a member of our party who was using a wheelchair. We sat in the outside patio, which was really cozy. Food was phenomenal. My husband and I were still celebrating our 25th anniversary and decided to dine at Carson Kitchen one evening while staying downtown. We didn't have a reservation but were very pleasantly greeted & seated immediately. The restaurant is quaint and all of the staff we interacted with were very nice. Jordyn was our server. She was great & so attentive. Our food was ready quickly. We enjoyed most of our meal (crispy chicken skins, cauliflower, devil's eggs with caviar and gyro tacos) and Jordyn even removed the one item we didn't care for so we ordered more chicken skins to go. This is one of our go to spots in the city. Parking is horrible, but it's downtown, so not a surprise. Staff is always very friendly, with their laid back hipster atmosphere and consistency in dishes, always worth the visit. We ordered take out from here a ton during COVID, and always bring people from out of town here. Would recommend the shrimp, bacon jam, deviled eggs, chicken skins (our favorite) and believe it or not their burger is damn good and worth it every penny! My mom and I arrived for our 5 p.m. reservation and noticed the restaurant was relatively empty at that time. However, it started to fill up steadily during our dinner, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation or opting for an earlier dining time if you want a more relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed working there. Our waitress was especially kind. After realizing we had ordered too much, she offered to cancel one of our dishes at no extra charge, even though the kitchen had already started preparing it. That gesture really stood out to us. We ordered three dishes, which ended up being more than enough for the two of us. The first was the Crispy Chicken Skins. These were absolutely delicious. My mom and I are both huge fans of fried chicken skin, and this version was excellent, especially when dipped in the smoked honey it came with. We also ordered the Pork Belly, which was served with a buffalo bleu beurre blanc. I personally do not care for buffalo sauce, so that may have influenced my opinion, but I also felt that the tangy and creamy sauce did not pair well with the rich, fatty pork belly. The flavor combination reminded me a bit of spoiled milk, which was not exactly the feeling I wanted while eating out. The last dish we tried was the Tempura Green Beans. They were fried nicely, and the portion was generous. However, they were a bit too greasy. The pepper jelly cream cheese on the side helped cut through the richness slightly, but overall, the meal still felt quite heavy. While I appreciated the creativity of the dishes, I think each of them could benefit from a few small adjustments to improve the overall experience. The ingredients and ideas are solid, but with a bit of refinement, they could be truly memorable. Overall, it was a pleasant meal with great service, and I would be open to returning to see how the menu evolves. read more

Got to randomly see this place on google when trying to find a place to eat and saw the amazing reviews of this place so we knew we had to try it out. We came pretty late in the evening and although we did not have a reservation, they were very kind to let us eat and order at the bar. What especially stood out to use were the shared plates and I have to say they definitely were something to come here for. The crispy chicken skins like many other say is definitely a winner of the night, especially with the honey. I personally would also say that you cannot go wrong with the shrimp though. Its perfectly crispy and spicy and honestly I could not stop myself from eating all of it so fast. We also got their risotto and chicken thighs which was definitely not to be forgotten too. I personally enjoyed the chicken thighs, with the chicken perfectly cooked and the sauce for the chicken thighs complementing very well(although it did make it very wet). I went here on my first night in my Vegas trip and I really enjoyed the food here. Centrally located just 1 block south of the main Fremont Street Experience, this place offers a modern minimalistic kitchen ambience featuring new American food. If American restaurants serve these types of food, I will be an avid American food fan, as I am not the biggest fan of burgers and sandwiches. Here, they have some nice small bites as well as a farm & garden section offering inventive dishes. We tried the deviled eggs, black rice and oxtail risotto, and boozy carrots. Reservations can be a bit challenging to get if you dine in the weekends, so I recommend looking about a week in advance to be safe. We settled with the kitchen counter to see all the action, but a lot of the kitchen and preparation is done outside of the main kitchen area. The deviled eggs are pretty delicious - giant eggs with lots of egg yolk filling. The caviar description was a bit misleading as it was not the real caviar, but it does evoke a nice fancy vibe to it. The black rice and oxtail risotto is my favorite dish here. Not the most traditionally aesthetic presentation, but it is so creamy and smooth. The oxtail is very tender and blends in super well with the risotto. The boozy carrots did not have strong boozy flavor but the addition of whiskey softens the carrots yet still emits a nice caramelized and fresh flavor. I normally don't like softer foods but this one was done well. Service could be improved. I can't really take a star off because the food is downright excellent, but it took a while to get the order in, despite a few workers near us that made eye contact. For an American restaurant, that was not really acceptable as American restaurants tend to pride themselves with excellent service. read more

Tried this restaurant on a Saturday night, and surprisingly, it wasn't crowded. The server was nice and helpful, and checked on us a few time which was appreciated. We ordered bacon burger, killer shrimp and gyro tacos. The killer shrimp was the standout, so good. The burger was good too but I didn't like the tacos, the lamb flavor was a bit too strong for me. Portions were on the smaller side, and the food came out at different times for our group. This spot was part of our lip-smacking tour and what a great way to start. We got to have the crispy chicken skins, devil's eggs, young beets chopped, and killer shrimp. The beets was essentially a salad. Refreshing. My favorite was the killer shrimp since it had a little kick with the aji Amarillo. Yum! If you're a fan of chicharrones, you'll enjoy those crispy chicken skins. I would have liked the devils eggs more if it had paprika or something to give it a little zang. Like I mentioned, part of a tour, but the server was attentive. Definitely a spot i aim to come back and order from again. Little gem in downtown Vegas. The inside is cozy, with several tables for 4 to 6 people, and it was packed the whole time we were there. I'm personally not a fan of sitting on high stools but they had regular table seats too. Dined here while in Lad Vegas on 11/7/25. My review? Delicious! They offer shareable plates as well as the, "heck no, I'm not sharing and want it all to myself plates" as well. Party of 4 we were and we loved the sharing experience. Personally enjoyed all the dishes with the exception of one. Servers are friendly and engaging, no stuffy uniforms. They're free to dress and be themselves. Cocktails were prepared and arrived FAST! Private room upstairs and a darling outside with fire pit, dining as well. Noise can get a little high as it's concrete floors and chairs dragging on floors for movement can add to the din. Currently some road construction is impacting (only slightly for now) the ability to get in. It was an approximate 15 minute Uber/Lyft ride from our strip hotel (Friday night traffic) coupled with Formula One build outs impacting time. Would definitely return! Also would stay away from LV mid September to Mid December because of F1 congestion. read more

Vegas boasts so many delicious and delightful restaurants, it's hard to pick through everything, but Carson's should be on every single person's list to visit in Vegas. It's a bit inconspicuous and off to the side near Fremont Street, but the food is absolutely worth the drive and the searching. The restaurant is lovely and modern, and they have a beautiful outdoor space where we are in mid November at a perfect temperature. We were here to celebrate and ordered everything that looked good, and absolutely nothing disappointed. I had the espresso martini varient and it was delightful, and we had 4 different apps, all of which were incredible. My favorite was the deviled eggs, but everything was insanely delicious. We got a Mac and cheese for the table and ended up ordering a second one, and we had the pot roast sandwich and one of the flatbreads, both of which were also incredible. This place was the tits. A lil upscale place right off Fremont. Some friends an I went before a concert and it was perfect. We had reservations so I don't know how easy it'd be to walk in. The place was packed out. We got the chicken skins and honey, deviled eggs with caviar on top, the oxtail risotto, fried pork belly, and bacon jam. Chicken skins seemed weird but that honey was insane. The deviled eggs were tops and the oxtail was one of the best dishes I've ever had. Everything was absolutely stellar. An amazing night of eating at Carson Kitchen. This 10-year old restaurant in the Downtown Las Vegas neighborhood is not to be missed. One block off Fremont very near all the action. We started with a very lovely, very fairly priced Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It matched up with an exquisite Brussel Sprouts caesar salad, infused with bacon and in-house baked croutons. Rich in taste and perfectly dressed. Easy to share. We then progressed to the gyro tacos which were also perfectly seasoned and incredibly filling. The lamb was melt in your mouth prepared. We shared the 3+1 order. A creatively prepared and presented barramundi fish followed. If Barramundi strikes you as too pedestrian, the red pepper walnut romesco and chive oil brought a tasty finish to this traditional white fish. Finally, we split a bread pudding with three rum caramel, vanilla crème anglaise and a side of brown butter bacon ice cream. Each portion was easily sharable. The taste was exquisite and the perfect finish. Ambiance: We arrived for dinner on the early side and enjoyed talking. By the time we left, the place was full and had become energetically loud. This is our second time visiting Carson Kitchen and it did not disappoint! We went in for pupus and drinks and had a great time. I love the decor and contemporary vibe. My husband ordered an old fashion and I ordered a Cucumber Tom Collins (the bartender told me the name of the drink but of course I forgot). My husband and I both loved our drinks! I had never had a Cucumber Tom Collins but it was super light and refreshing - perfect for a hot day. Our bartender was also our server and he was so helpful and attentive. For our pupus, we ordered Brussel Sprouts Caesar, Grilled Oysters, and the Chinese Eggplant. As always, everything was awesome but two of my new favorites are the Cucumber Tom Collins and the Chinese Eggplant. Carson Kitchen serves mostly comfort style foods in a hip atmosphere with an open kitchen. They are located downtown in the arts district. We started with the watermelon feta salad. It was good but we both thought they were overly generous with large blocks of feta in the salad. Because the salad was mostly cheese at the end. The Sunday Chicken Sandwich was very different than from a previous visit. It seemed to be missing the delicious spices and heat. The texture of the breading differed too. This one today was also overcooked and on the dry side. (see pictures...it is easy to see a difference). It was edible but what I consider to be very average. Maybe today was just an off day? I didn't try the black rice oxtail risotto but my husband said that he wouldn't get it again. It was passable but he thought it was too paste-ee in texture and didn't get the cheese embellishment. 3 stars is a positive review on Yelp and translates to A-OK read more

I had came here previously a few times and loved it. It has been awhile, but thought I'd come by to have my boyfriend try the place out. Had a reservation in the afternoon on a Saturday and had a great time. Our server Bianca was awesome. I know she was swamped with tables but she did a decent job taking care of us. With food, we had first got the bacon jam which has always been a must get at. It has such a unique flavor to it, but this time around was a little disappointing as it seems the cheese wasn't melted all the way which made it a little difficult to cut. The grilled oysters in gochujang butter had a really good flavor but a little pricey for only 3 pieces. Then we had the French onion fingerlings. The potatoes were still a bit hard and I wished there was more of the sauce on it, since it mostly just tasted like potato. Although, those were a bit disappointing, the short rib was cooked perfectly and we loved the sauce on top of it. The pep on pep flatbread was also great. Probably my favorite out of everything. We also had gotten the bourbon brownie bacon. It was decent, loved the bourbon ice cream but wasn't a big fan of the bacon. However, if you like bacon, I'd definitely say give it a try. Was greeted ok by the host and although the restaurant was not that busy, was told the only seating was at a bar in back by the restrooms.
