Great food and bartender. We just needed a lighter lunch since we were planning on walking around afterwards so we shared some devils eggs and a pot roast dip sandwich. Both were very good and the sandwich came with slightly spicy tots. It was the perfect amount of food and the bar seating was comfortable. We've been here a few times but haven't been back in too many years. That'll change now and we'll be back sooner. Small place, good music playing and it wasn't terribly loud in the dining area, which we appreciated. We could carry on a conversation at the table. The waitstaff were dressed very casual, jeans and t-shirt casual. Although the food is upscale, everything else about this place seems very casual diner like. We could even see most of the work going on in the small kitchen. Mostly shareable plates... Our table chose the deviled eggs with caviar - these were a hit! Dynamite shrimp, most at the table liked these, they were spicy and the flavor was decent, but I just felt like the sauce made the breading a bit soggy and it wasn't a favorite of mine. Pork Belly - This had a buffalo sauce on it, which I wasn't too excited about at first, but it worked better than I expected. Wish it was just a little crispier but it was tender and I enjoyed it. Oxtail risotto - this one had mixed reviews from the table, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was good. There's only a small amount of meat and it's shredded into the risotto. Overall the consistency was a little weird, very thick and almost sticky/dry, plus the dark color. They had a steak on the menu and the flavor was great, one of the pricier menu items but it was a good share. My wife ordered a burger without the bun. She said the patty was well over-cooked and so it was pretty dry. They don't offer gluten-free buns or bread - bummer. The service was generally prompt, but seemed uncoordinated at times. For example, it seemed our waitress was also handling a very large party outside on the patio, and randomly the hostess would bring us a drink refill (hostess stand was right beside our table). That's good in a way, they are all a team, but she also picked up my plate and silverware after only the first appetizer - mind you they bring everything out as it's ready, so don't expect the whole table to eat together, you are expected to share! When I asked if she could replace my silverware, she grabbed a fork and knife and handed to me, but they weren't rolled in a napkin or anything, just barehanded me some silverware... anyway, I thought that was odd. I had came here previously a few times and loved it. It has been awhile, but thought I'd come by to have my boyfriend try the place out. Had a reservation in the afternoon on a Saturday and had a great time. We were met by our server Bianca and she was superb. I know she was very busy with the tables but managed to look after us well. With food, we had first got the bacon jam which has always been a must get at. It has such a unique flavor to it, but this time around was a little disappointing as it seems the cheese wasn't melted all the way which made it a little difficult to cut. The gochujang butter flavored oysters were really tasty but a bit expensive for three oysters. Then we had the French onion fingerlings. Then the potatoes were a little hard and wished there was more sauce on it as it was mostly potato in taste. Although, those were a bit disappointing, the short rib was cooked perfectly and we loved the sauce on top of it. Also really cool was the pep on pep flatbread. My personal favorite! We also had gotten the bourbon brownie bacon. It was ok, liked the bourbon ice cream, not that fond of the bacon. If you're a bacon lover, though, I'd highly recommend trying it out. We found this place through a Yelp search. It's got such high ratings and thousands of reviews. We figured we'd give it a shot! It is a Wed night at 8:30pm and it had several tables full but we were still able to be seated right away. The place is hard to find so heads up! Look up pictures of the outside so you don't walk past it! It's a beautiful, cozy spot with an upscale feel and vibe. The playlist is amazing! Whomever curated this has incredible & varied music taste and it all works together! 90's R&B, Alternative, Grunge Rock, all of it so good! The menu has sections that you choose 2-4 items from and share with your table. We tried the Mushroom flatbread, the Pot Roast sandwich, the Beet Salad and the Grilled Oysters. The Grilled Oysters were not a favorite. However, I think that's just personal preference because of the style they are prepared in. We prefer our grilled oysters to be very charred and more of a buttery flavor. These are prepared in an Asian style and and more of a soft grill than a char. Years ago, we went to Carson Kitchen and were blown away with the creative menu, flavors, selections and innovate small plates. After 6-7 years, we are trying them again. The Rock N Roll Marathon is happening tomorrow and being on Las Vegas Blvd, Carson Kitchen is smack dab in the middle of it. The staff tonight appears to be disheveled with the race out front. We were quickly seated with no reservations, the 5K appears to be playing havic with their business. We ordered the Devil's eggs with pancetta and caviar. The presentation was nice but it lacked flavor, no desire to finish all three, a lack-luster choice. Char broiled oysters sounded interesting with white miso, pickled onions and tempora jalapeno. Absolutely, the smallest oysters but decent flavor, piping hot and a good topping. The grilled Alabama chicken thighs in a comeback sauce were ok, but not remarkable. Overall, we were disappointed with Carson Kitchen as we had held the kitchen staff in highest regard with unique and delicious dishes. It's pretty small inside. They have another side where the bathrooms and bar is. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. Parking sucks in the area. I could only find parking where you have to pay. I had the short rib steak and it was delicious! You have to order the sides separate. I also had the tempura green beans which were also delicious. It was pretty cold inside. We were all uncomfortably cold. Wood tables and metal chairs. Most cocktails started at $14. I drank the Pipers choice which was good but I don't think worth $16. Everything is meant to share but aren't very big portions. My friends ordered the Brussels sprouts Caesar salad. No one finished it-it wasn't great. Overall nothing was bad but just way overpriced. We visited on a Monday evening and Reservations are definitely recommended and for good reason. Carson Kitchen absolutely delivered from start to finish. We sat at the counter, which I highly recommend, and got to watch the team prep and cook everything in real time. You can tell immediately that the food is fresh and largely house-made. Everything came out quickly but never felt rushed, just perfectly timed and expertly prepared. The chicken skins were incredible: hot, crunchy, well-seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The deviled eggs were spot on, and they do not skimp on the filling. The bacon burger was a standout, tender, insanely flavorful, and piping hot off the grill. Even the bun deserves praise: soft, buttery, and clearly intentional. And then the bread pudding... fluffy, rich, and eggy in the best way, topped with vanilla cream and a rum caramel that tied everything together beautifully. Service was excellent. Our waiter was perfectly attentive without hovering, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Overall, just a phenomenal dining experience. We usually take our visitors here for dinner if we can get reservations! The appetizers are outstanding. We typically get the deviled eggs which comes with crispy pancetta and a dollop of caviar. The filling is rich and creamy eggy flavor. The grilled oysters are fresh and delicious. Their chicken skins are crispy fatty and delicious but they also have a main dish of chicken thighs, which is seasoned well and delicious as well. Their flatbreads are excellent,their short ribs flatbread, and the mushroom flatbreads are excellent. They also have various types of steaks, salads, soups. Dining here is a great experience and you don't have to be lucky to get the "right" section from the tapas menu. I visited with two others and we sampled a large portion of the menu. The dining room is small so make sure you get a reservation to ensure seating. I am a fan of craft cocktails but found the wine list much more pleasing. The food is actually great with some variations. From the Farm Fresh section were beets that I'd give a 4/5 score, cauliflower was an absolute 5/5, the devil eggs lacked flavor earning. 3.5/5. On to the proteins, the Chicken thighs (5/5) came in an order of three and are perfectly seasoned. The short ribs are also a 5/5, tender and perfectly prepared. A mixed experience at Carson Kitchen after a matinee at the Smith Center. It was beautiful outdoors, but a private party occupied the patio, and the downstairs space was absolutely freezing. We spoke to them about this, but they weren't able to fix it. We literally wore our jackets indoors and still shivered. The long tables and stools were not comfortable for dinner; the atmosphere was bleak. Wins included the tasty devil's eggs and grape and burrata salad, with a nice light vinaigrette. We were in Downtown Las Vegas for vacation recently and we always heard amazing things about Carson Kitchen and we decided to stop in for dinner during our recent trip. We made a reservation in advance- the restaurant is pretty small, so definitely try to make a reservation if you can. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated promptly at a table near the front. Our server came by a few minutes later and offered to answer any questions we had on the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine to start, all at reasonable prices, they had a few options to pick from. We ordered the Pepp on Pepp flatbread to start ($18), and the Brussell Sprout Caesar Salad ($13) and two of the Pot Roast Dips ($19). All of the food was truly amazing and all very fresh and tasty! The service was also really good throughout the meal and efficient. We look forward to returning and highly recommend trying Carson Kitchen if you're in the Downtown Las Vegas area! read more

Donut bread pudding - 9.5/10. I was bracing for a super sweet & rich dessert but I have to say it was super tasty, not overly sweet just tasty. I would not have thought it was a donut, maybe a croissant. The carmel & the cream it was all just balanced perfectly. The bread (donut) was broil/charred on the top. Man it was just good!!! Not sure what I expected so I was surprised to find it's a rather small restaurant with limited menu offering. Service was ok. Server was nice and did recommend a few dishes. Our son is a picky eater so needed some menu accommodations. We ordered devil's eggs, secret Sunday fried chicken and chicken thighs. Other reviewers raved about the devil's eggs but we found it disappointing. The chicken sandwich was just ok. We got our bill in a "book". Thought that was a nice touch! I finally made it back to Carson Kitchen after a year-long break from downtown Vegas -- and the regret hit instantly. I can't believe I deprived my family of the treasures on this menu for that long. Never again. The kids immediately demanded two orders of the fried chicken skins. To this day, we don't know another restaurant that does this dish even remotely like Carson Kitchen. My wife went straight back to her forever favorite: the pork belly. My oldest son? The deviled eggs, every single time. We tried the chicken thighs for the first time, and they were a standout- far more complex than expected. The char from the chicken paired with an Alabama-style mustard BBQ sauce created this perfect, rich balance. This is officially joining the "must-order every visit" category. And some things never change: The bacon jam is as essential at our table as oxygen is to human life, and the glazed donut bread pudding still holds the title of my number one dessert in all of Las Vegas. Carson Kitchen remains not just one of downtown's greatest gems, but all of Las Vegas. This place is really good! There's a parking structure right across the street which made it a easily accessible restaurant downtown. We sat at an L shaped table which wasn't idea if we wanted conversations with the whole table but it was nicely tucked in the back and the lighting was soft and cozy. Pretty solid spot for an interesting dinner! I enjoyed the grilled oysters, killer shrimp, and short rib steak. I would say that the short rib steak was the standout dish and felt very reasonably priced for the quality. I would come back for the steak alone as it went so well with the pepperoncini pesto-- such a unique combo. I was not a huge fan of the bacon jam as it was too strong on the vinegar or whatever the acidity component was in that dish (also the bread was stale). Overall, I thought their food was unique and tasty. I liked that they tried to balance the heaviness of all the dishes with some type of pickle or acid. That was the dish that our group collectively kept saying they wanted more of. The bacon burger and spicy notes were so great, and the tots definitely were delicious. Nice spure of the moment stop. Looking for a bite without having to go too far, Carson Kitchen hit the spot. The restaurant area was a bit busy but the bar was empty. The bar it is! Steven was a great bar tender. He's was kind, knowledgeable and has a great spirit about him. I absolutely love the bar counter top. Very nice. The menu was very unique. Note: the food is served family style which supports sharing. The spirits called, Let's Hug It Out was a week made beverage. Al the good was good. Very stylish and clean place. My bf particularly loved the playlist (pop punk, lots of yellow card, Dashboard Confessional). No dress code - tee shirts and sneakers was common. Everything is served tapas style/shareable which makes it easy to try many menu items. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. She had great suggestions. The tempura green beans were a huge portion. Nice and crispy. We didn't care for the cream cheese dip, but the green beans were great on their own. The macaroni and cheese is very creamy, with crunchy bread crumbs. Great flavor. Not sure the type of cheese used but it was different. The grape and burrata salad was fresh and delicious. Would be great with a couple pieces of toast too since we had a large amount of burrata left after finishing the fixings. Would order again. Black rice & oxtail risotto was very cheesy! Stringy cheese. We never tried oxtail before, it was good. Mixed into the rice well. Very savory. Espresso cocoa New York strip had a good crispy crust with tasty flavor. Was in downtown Las Vegas for a convention and decided to drop in for dinner on a Saturday night..... and it was packed! Not the type of place to just drop in on a Saturday night. Lucky for us 2 seats opened up at the bar so we quickly went and claimed the seats, not really a big fan of bar seating but wasn't going to wait a few hours for a table. Everything on the menu sounded so good so we ended up ordering way too much food. First dish we got was the hot dog burnt ends and this dish works! It came with two halves slice bread, pickles, and ranch dip. Second dish is the bacon jam with Toasted baguette and it was tasty. The bartender suggested that we eat the hot dog burnt ends with the bacon jam and Toasted baguette and it went really well together. Third dish we got is the crispy chicken skin with smoked honey. The chicken was nice and crispy but lacked flavor and it wasn't really feeling it with the honey. We ended up using the bacon jam as a dip since it was really good with everything. Fourth dish is the baked Mac and cheese and I think there were hints of truffle in it. It was creamy and cheesy and quite good. Last dish is the black rice & oxtail risotto. Was visiting Las Vegas for EDC week, and it happened to be my birthday (May 16). We had the pleasure to be served by Bianca (she has the same name as my sister!)! She was outstanding and really made the restaurant feel home-y. Service was outstanding. The actually restaurant is on the smaller end, but it makes up for that by giving a really intimate setting for you and your friends/family. Food was some of the best food I've ever had in Las Vegas. I'll start with the Baked Mac and cheese, this was so creamy and I would definitely order again! Another fave by the table was the Bacon Jam, the way the flavor pierces your senses is crazy and it's definitely a different taste that we ended up enjoying. The pepp on pep flatbread and pot roast dip were solid choices, definitely would go with the pot roast dip if you all or choosing dishes to get for yourself. The flatbread is perfect to share! The oysters and pork belly were my personal favorite, I actually didn't really like oysters before, but have now started to appreciate them more! Perfect stop to start our Vegas weekend. We came to see Phish at the Sphere and after a 4 hour drive we wanted something good off the main strip. This place hit the spot! The beet salad is a must have. I usually have beets in salad as a topper or side and now I am questioning why I never let beets be the main before. Perfect mix of sweet and creamy. It's a perfect trio beets, goat cheese, and pistachios! I also added a side of chicken breast (gotta get that protein in). The seasoning on my chicken was really good which made up for it being a bit overcooked and dry. My husband ordered the burger and brussel sprout caesar topped with bacon bits. Not your average teeny dry bits. These were like nice chewy bacon steak jerky bits. I may have stole a few (ok maybe a lot of them) off the salad. This is another menu item that I will def be making at home. Everything you love about a caesar with more crunch and it feels way more filling. OMG! what a find! Me and 5 of my friends came together to have lunch here before leaving town after seeing the Eagles at the Sphere the night before. They do not have a traditional menu but make some pretty darn delicious food. First off easy parking, and cool chill venue. Service was great as we were served attentively with smiles all around! We walked in around 3pm on a Friday and it was easy seating for 2 people. They were playing the game on the one TV they had in the main dining room. We did not experience the bar area, which is where happy hour was from 3-6p. The two of us shared three items which was sufficient. The sweet potatoes were surprising great with a cottage cheese/avocado crème on the base and crispy potatoes on top. The added jalapeño sliced gave a spicy/Mexican kick to the dish which balanced it out. Easily a one person dish! The Mac and cheese is beyond awesome! While it was baked it didn't have an overly crispy top, but very creamy and cheesy base. Really great to share as it may be too much as a single person dish. My only complaint is that it is really salty. The sea bass was flaky, cooked beautifully, with crispy skin. The mango salsa is clutch! A wonderful spicy/sweet blend that just balances out the fish beautifully. Service was great, she was very attentive. Adding some pics. Oxtail risotto was just a tad amped this time with maybe 10% over on the salt, acid, and garlic from how I remember it. Even so, it was still the best dish...that's how good it is! The Devil's Eggs always surprise me at how well they're made. It's like 5 different main tastes and textures in one item, but none of them outshine or mute each other. Perfectly balanced flavors of umami and herbal pungency, and perfectly balanced textures of poppy, crispy, and creamy. Butternut Bolognese was an item that i haven't had before, and it's a winner. It's creamy but with a fresh taste with the just tiny amount of zest (almost like a light turmeric) in it. Oxtail risotto is still my fave but it's better for sharing bc it's a heavier punch. This bolognese isn't super light, but it's light enough that I can have a whole portion to myself. Bread pudding continues to top the meal off with a perfectly sweet (but not too sweet) ending. read more

This place is a must try, we loved the whole experience. We went with another couple and we just ordered plates to share, tapas style, and the food was amazing. Decent place to have a night out in the downtown area. The place is pretty small and I can see why it would get packed quickly. Their service was an ok pace, somewhat on the slower end but it gave me time to chat with my two friends so that was fine. Honestly speaking, the portions were pretty small for their price range. We were pretty full and our bill came out to $180 pp total after tax and tip. Gochujang butter grilled oysters: 8/10 taste was delicious but they only gave you three for like $15 Mac and cheese: 10/10 probably one of the best Mac n cheeses I've had in Vegas surprisingly NY strip: 7/10 not particularly unique, just a normal steak. I'm not sure if they even include cocoa or espresso in their demi glaze or if that's just the name Black rice and oxtail risotto: 6/10 I like black rice because of its texture but I don't really think it paired well in a risotto dish. The location is convenient and updated/casual, the drinks are delicious, especially the Out Of This World and the the staff, especially Chloe are awesome! Cool spot downtown Vegas! I was able to try Carson Kitchen the other night for a friend's birthday. The drinks came out quick and were pretty strong! I got the Daddy Wags cocktail, and it was very good! My wife and I shared the chicken skins appetizer, as well as the Mushroom flatbread. The food came out hot and fresh, but did come with a pretty pricey tag on them. The appetizer was great but nowhere near what we paid for it with the small portion size. But, that is how most restaurants are nowadays. The service was awesome for a bigger group! Water and drink refills were always available. This restaurant is in an older part of town, so it seems that maybe the airflow in the restaurant wasn't great. Unfortunately,It was extremely warm inside, as multiple people commented on that and had to take off any long sleeves. I would like to come back and try their upstairs seating/lounge area. Since our initial visit in 2022, we've come back to Carson Kitchen a few times. It never disappoints. The ever changing menu keeps thinks interesting, but for the better. This afternoon, we went around 2:30 pm on a Sunday. We made reservations, but it actually wasn't really necessary. The restaurant was half way full, but still buzzing with activity. (Perhaps due to our dining hour.) After a shared plate of my personal favorite the 'Crispy Chicken Skin w/ Smoker Honey', I dined on a JUICY Bacon Burger which was DELICIOUS! It's cooked "smashed-style", with 2 layers of brilliantly seasoned beef, accompanied with CRISPY-CRISPY tator tots. My date had the 'Rabbit Farfalle' which was unbelievably delicious and very rich! Fantastic, although it may have been better dinner fare. Our other guest had a 'Brussel Sprouts Caesar' salad and had said it too was very tasty!
