Small place, good music playing and it wasn't terribly loud in the dining area, which we appreciated. We could carry on a conversation at the table. The waitstaff were dressed very casual, jeans and t-shirt casual. Although the food is upscale, everything else about this place seems very casual diner like. We could even see most of the work going on in the small kitchen. Mostly shareable plates... Our table chose the deviled eggs with caviar - these were a hit! Dynamite shrimp, most at the table liked these, they were spicy and the flavor was decent, but I just felt like the sauce made the breading a bit soggy and it wasn't a favorite of mine. Pork Belly - This had a buffalo sauce on it, which I wasn't too excited about at first, but it worked better than I expected. Wish it was just a little crispier but it was tender and I enjoyed it. Oxtail risotto - this one had mixed reviews from the table, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was good. There's only a small amount of meat and it's shredded into the risotto. Overall the consistency was a little weird, very thick and almost sticky/dry, plus the dark color. They had a steak on the menu and the flavor was great, one of the pricier menu items but it was a good share. My wife ordered a burger without the bun. She said the patty was well over-cooked and so it was pretty dry. They don't offer gluten-free buns or bread - bummer. The service was generally prompt, but seemed uncoordinated at times. For example, it seemed our waitress was also handling a very large party outside on the patio, and randomly the hostess would bring us a drink refill (hostess stand was right beside our table). That's good in a way, they are all a team, but she also picked up my plate and silverware after only the first appetizer - mind you they bring everything out as it's ready, so don't expect the whole table to eat together, you are expected to share! When I asked if she could replace my silverware, she grabbed a fork and knife and handed to me, but they weren't rolled in a napkin or anything, just barehanded me some silverware... anyway, I thought that was odd. Overall, the food had some bright spots and perhaps worth a lunch if you are downtown. I probably wouldn't seek it out again, but I'm not mad about the meal we had either.
Stopped at this location as a part of the Lip Smacking foodies tour. I experienced a few samples of different dishes, and all of it was great! I tried the killer shrimp, the young beets, the devil's eggs and the crispy chicken skins. The servers were very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is very laid back. It can get a bit noisy because of the venue size, but it is a wonderful place to visit.Will definately dine here on my next visit to Las Vegas.

I did a quote search of my bookmarks and Carson Kitchen showed up. It was easy to make a reservation. Not really any street parking, so we parked in a structure nearby. I believe it was something like $10 for two hours. Good bar / pub type food. I liked how the deviled eggs came with caviar. And their burgers come with tots with is my fav way to eat fried potatoes. So crispy! I found their cocktails to be more on the light and refreshing side. I'm more of a spirit forward girl. Very chill for a Monday afternoon. I believe I bookmarked this spot wither for their rooftop or their happy hour. The rooftop looked closed and we showed up too early for HH, so didn't take part in either. Service was good. Our server was sweet and attentive. If in the area, not a bad spot to stop by. Wouldn't mind checking out their HH specials. Note - They charge an additional 3% surcharge on credit card transactions. Great food and bartender. We just needed a lighter lunch since we were planning on walking around afterwards so we shared some devils eggs and a pot roast dip sandwich. Both were very good and the sandwich came with slightly spicy tots. It was the perfect amount of food and the bar seating was comfortable. We've been here a few times but haven't been back in too many years. That'll change now and we'll be back sooner. Glad to see that this place is still here since so many other restaurants we visited once are now gone.
Years ago, we went to Carson Kitchen and were blown away with the creative menu, flavors, selections and innovate small plates. After 6-7 years, we are trying them again. The Rock N Roll Marathon is happening tomorrow and being on Las Vegas Blvd, Carson Kitchen is smack dab in the middle of it. The staff tonight appears to be disheveled with the race out front. We were quickly seated with no reservations, the 5K appears to be playing havic with their business. We ordered the Devil's eggs with pancetta and caviar. The presentation was nice but it lacked flavor, no desire to finish all three, a lack-luster choice. Char broiled oysters sounded interesting with white miso, pickled onions and tempora jalapeno. Absolutely, the smallest oysters but decent flavor, piping hot and a good topping. The grilled Alabama chicken thighs in a comeback sauce were ok, but not remarkable. Overall, we were disappointed with Carson Kitchen as we had held the kitchen staff in highest regard with unique and delicious dishes. None of our selections today were exciting, cutting edge or flavor bombs.
Had an Open Table reservation on a HOT 109 degree Wednesday evening. Nice small place, somewhat intimate indoor setting? Got seated right away and had a nice waiter go over the menu. Drinks: FINE, YOU?: It's an Old Fashioned and it was delicious. PIPER'S CHOICE: My wife likes her Espresso Martini creamy and a little bit on the sweeter side. This has more of a stiffer espresso forward taste which kinda put her off. Apps: CRISPY CHICKEN SKINS: Fried chicken skin with honey dip? Who knew that would work!? My wife and I loved it. "DEVIL'S" EGG: First time trying caviar and I think it pairs pretty well. BACON BURGER: My daughter finished it I'd say she like it! Main Course: BACON BURGER: My daughter got this and it was a thumbs up. No notes. COCOA-ESPRESSO NY STRIP: Nice sear crust with a perfect medium-rare. Great flavor with no burnt after-taste from the crust. SHORT RIB STEAK: The meat itself is very tender but with the pepperoncini it got my head scratching . When I think of pepperoncini I'm thinking of Italian subs or pizza? Does it work? I guess? They put the check inside a softcover novel which is pretty cool. In the pages were notes/comment from patrons. Could't help myself and got in on the fun!
We visited on a Monday evening and Reservations are definitely recommended and for good reason. Carson Kitchen absolutely delivered from start to finish. We sat at the counter, which I highly recommend, and got to watch the team prep and cook everything in real time. You can tell immediately that the food is fresh and largely house-made. Everything came out quickly but never felt rushed, just perfectly timed and expertly prepared. The chicken skins were incredible: hot, crunchy, well-seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The deviled eggs were spot on, and they do not skimp on the filling. The bacon burger was a standout, tender, insanely flavorful, and piping hot off the grill. Even the bun deserves praise: soft, buttery, and clearly intentional. And then the bread pudding... fluffy, rich, and eggy in the best way, topped with vanilla cream and a rum caramel that tied everything together beautifully. Service was excellent. Our waiter was perfectly attentive without hovering, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Overall, just a phenomenal dining experience. Easily a must-visit in Vegas, and we'll absolutely be back.
Dining here is a great experience and you don't have to be lucky to get the "right" section from the tapas menu. I visited with two others and we sampled a large portion of the menu. The dining room is small so make sure you get a reservation to ensure seating. I am a fan of craft cocktails but found the wine list much more pleasing. The food is actually great with some variations. From the Farm Fresh section were beets that I'd give a 4/5 score, cauliflower was an absolute 5/5, the devil eggs lacked flavor earning. 3.5/5. On to the proteins, the Chicken thighs (5/5) came in an order of three and are perfectly seasoned. The short ribs are also a 5/5, tender and perfectly prepared. However, the Oxtail risotto was hands down the favorite of the table. This is now one of my favorite places in Vegas.
A mixed experience at Carson Kitchen after a matinee at the Smith Center. It was beautiful outdoors, but a private party occupied the patio, and the downstairs space was absolutely freezing. We spoke to them about this, but they weren't able to fix it. We literally wore our jackets indoors and still shivered. The long tables and stools were not comfortable for dinner; the atmosphere was bleak. Wins included the tasty devil's eggs and grape and burrata salad, with a nice light vinaigrette. But the bacon jam was greasy and the toasts underdone. Mushroom flatbread was tough and far spicier than we would have chosen. We skipped dessert in order to get outside and warm up!
In the area and wanted to give this place a try. Couldn't bring in outside drinks (soda). No reservation. Seated at a communal table. Service was good. Food was good. Beet salad (6/10). Beets were good. Cauliflower app. (5/10). Not a ton of flavor. Pot roast. (7/10). Was good Tater tots. (9/10). Crispy. Flavorful. Hint of spice. Definitely glad got to try the place out!
I'm jumping straight into the food cause it was just wonderful!! 3 of us shared several plates. Cauliflower- 9/10 nice level of spiciness in the ala dente cauliflower. Oxtail risotto, my absolute favorite. 10/10 very meaty, creamy just nothing to say except it's fabulous! Pls get it!! Beets with orange & goat cheese 8.5/10. Flavors blend well together. Deviled eggs - 6/10. Just ok for me. Not a lot to talk about flavor-wise. I wouldn't get those again. Chicken - char grilled taste. Tender. Nice sauce. Just really good! 9/10 Short ribs - 8/10 ( but the sauce is a 10!) tender but a few parts were a little chewy. But the overall flavor price was wonderful. The chimicurri sauce on top was terrific, garlicky. It was cooked like a steak & sliced which surprised me. They didn't ask how we wanted it which I expected for short rib but it came medium. Donut bread pudding - 9.5/10. I was bracing for a super sweet & rich dessert but I have to say it was super tasty, not overly sweet just tasty. I would not have thought it was a donut, maybe a croissant. The carmel & the cream it was all just balanced perfectly. The bread (donut) was broil/charred on the top. Man it was just good!!! Service was good. They had only one server covering all tables on a slow night, he made it work. The restaurant is small, pretty loud talking & music. Open kitchen. Personable service. I recommend a visit.
My friend has been recommending this place for a while now. Finally decided to try it this trip. Not sure what I expected so I was surprised to find it's a rather small restaurant with limited menu offering. Service was ok. Server was nice and did recommend a few dishes. Our son is a picky eater so needed some menu accommodations. We ordered devil's eggs, secret Sunday fried chicken and chicken thighs. Other reviewers raved about the devil's eggs but we found it disappointing. The chicken sandwich was just ok. We got our bill in a "book". Thought that was a nice touch! Overall was just an ok experience. Not sure I'll be back.

We went family-style and ordered a bunch of dishes to share, including the black rice and oxtail risotto, baon burger, crispy chicken skins, Devil's eggs, tempura green beans, gyro tacos, and Killer Shrimp. Everything was tasty, but my favorites were definitely the black rice and oxtail risotto and the Killer Shrimp. The risotto was rich and flavorful, and the shrimp was delicious with a little kick. I also really enjoyed their cocktails. My favorite was the Let's Hug It Out, made with mezcal, sour mix, ginger liqueur, amaro, and lavender bitters. It's well balanced and delicious. read more

Update: I went to the restaurant with a large party and had reservations. The staff were absolutely amazing. We ordered a lot of different options and everything was delicious. This is a must to go too!! Love the food and amazing experience. read more

Carson Kitchen is a fun spot. Drinks are good and apps are great. Some of the stuff we ordered was just okay. Best thing in the menu is the chicken skins. Service was kinda slow. I would go back for the chicken skins and espresso martini. See my pics read more
I finally made it back to Carson Kitchen after a year-long break from downtown Vegas -- and the regret hit instantly. I can't believe I deprived my family of the treasures on this menu for that long. Never again. The kids immediately demanded two orders of the fried chicken skins. To this day, we don't know another restaurant that does this dish even remotely like Carson Kitchen. My wife went straight back to her forever favorite: the pork belly. My oldest son? The deviled eggs, every single time. We tried the chicken thighs for the first time, and they were a standout- far more complex than expected. The char from the chicken paired with an Alabama-style mustard BBQ sauce created this perfect, rich balance. This is officially joining the "must-order every visit" category. And some things never change: The bacon jam is as essential at our table as oxygen is to human life, and the glazed donut bread pudding still holds the title of my number one dessert in all of Las Vegas. Carson Kitchen remains not just one of downtown's greatest gems, but all of Las Vegas. You don't know artisan comfort food until you've been here, and I'm done letting a year go by without coming back. read more
We found this place through a Yelp search. It's got such high ratings and thousands of reviews. We figured we'd give it a shot! It is a Wed night at 8:30pm and it had several tables full but we were still able to be seated right away. The place is hard to find so heads up! Look up pictures of the outside so you don't walk past it! It's a beautiful, cozy spot with an upscale feel and vibe. The playlist is amazing! Whomever curated this has incredible & varied music taste and it all works together! 90's R&B, Alternative, Grunge Rock, all of it so good! The menu has sections that you choose 2-4 items from and share with your table. We tried the Mushroom flatbread, the Pot Roast sandwich, the Beet Salad and the Grilled Oysters. The Grilled Oysters were not a favorite. However, I think that's just personal preference because of the style they are prepared in. We prefer our grilled oysters to be very charred and more of a buttery flavor. These are prepared in an Asian style and and more of a soft grill than a char. Our server very graciously had a second plate served up with more of a grill to the oyster which we appreciated. The rest of the dishes were delicious. We were so full that we passed on dessert, but would definitely be back because the options were inventive and looked so tasty. We were in Downtown Las Vegas for vacation recently and we always heard amazing things about Carson Kitchen and we decided to stop in for dinner during our recent trip. We made a reservation in advance- the restaurant is pretty small, so definitely try to make a reservation if you can. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated promptly at a table near the front. Our server came by a few minutes later and offered to answer any questions we had on the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine to start, all at reasonable prices, they had a few options to pick from. Came here for date night. We tried several of the most popular tapas and they were all good. Lots of cocktail and wine options available. We came on a Saturday night so it was busy but had reservations. All of the food was good but we've had more flavorful dishes elsewhere.m for similar price. read more

Got the chance to try a variety of things here and we were really pleased. The STAR OF THE SHOW is their baked mac and cheese. That was the dish that our group collectively kept saying they wanted more of. The bacon burger and spicy notes were so great, and the tots definitely were delicious. Grape and burrito was super refreshing next to all of the hot meals, and the black rice and oxtail risotto was perfection. For dessert we tried the glazed donut bread pudding, and while yummy it was a bit underwhelming. Should've added their bacon ice cream on top, would've added a great flavor to it. Fortunate to have tasted every new plate at Carson Kitchen since summer of 2015, Chefs Harwell, Simon and team forever rethinking even longtime best-sellers, it was alongside drinks that dining began shortly, all well-suited to iconic Bacon Jam and Tempura Green Beans with Pepper Jelly Cream Cheese. Continuing with Devil's Eggs, equally enjoyable today as in 2014, Young Beets stand out thanks in a new form while seasonal Salads are highlighted by Warm Spinach in Molasses best enjoyed adjacent grilled Oysters with Miso and a bit of heat. This place is really good! There's a parking structure right across the street which made it a easily accessible restaurant downtown. We sat at an L shaped table which wasn't idea if we wanted conversations with the whole table but it was nicely tucked in the back and the lighting was soft and cozy. The service was attentive and friendly. The Mac n cheese was probably my favorite item on the menu. I wanted to try several things so I ordered the pot roast dip (piping hot!) the chicken skins which felt like expensive pork rinds but were really good with the honey! I ordered a Cabernet as well to pair with everything. This place is good and has a unique menu everyone should check out at least once. read more

Very stylish and clean place. My bf particularly loved the playlist (pop punk, lots of yellow card, Dashboard Confessional). No dress code - tee shirts and sneakers was common. Everything is served tapas style/shareable which makes it easy to try many menu items. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. She had great suggestions. The tempura green beans were a huge portion. Nice and crispy. We didn't care for the cream cheese dip, but the green beans were great on their own. The macaroni and cheese is very creamy, with crunchy bread crumbs. Great flavor. Not sure the type of cheese used but it was different. The grape and burrata salad was fresh and delicious. Would be great with a couple pieces of toast too since we had a large amount of burrata left after finishing the fixings. Would order again. Black rice & oxtail risotto was very cheesy! Stringy cheese. We never tried oxtail before, it was good. Mixed into the rice well. Very savory. Espresso cocoa New York strip had a good crispy crust with tasty flavor. A decent amount of fat that I had to cut off though. Short rib steak was also crusty! The green stuff on top was a bit spicy but paired well with the meat. We didn't eat all of that though, just a little bit. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend anyone try it! read more

Great early dinner before a show at the Sphere. The two of us shared everything. We loved the Shaved Brussel Sprouts Caesar Salad, the NY strip and the potatoes. We would pass on the Grilled Oysters next time. Service was great and the restaurant is really cute but unassuming from outside. Will definitely be back to try more next time in Vegas. read more
Nice spure of the moment stop. Looking for a bite without having to go too far, Carson Kitchen hit the spot. The restaurant area was a bit busy but the bar was empty. The bar it is! Steven was a great bar tender. He's was kind, knowledgeable and has a great spirit about him. I absolutely love the bar counter top. Very nice. The menu was very unique. Note: the food is served family style which supports sharing. The spirits called, Let's Hug It Out was a week made beverage. Al the good was good. From the Tempura Green Beans to the Hotdog Burnt Ends. Fried oysters . I enjoyed the Gyro Tacos, too. The feta cream was very fresh. A bit too chilled which made the Tacos chill but was very good. Was in downtown Las Vegas for a convention and decided to drop in for dinner on a Saturday night..... and it was packed! Not the type of place to just drop in on a Saturday night. I highly recommend making a reservation. Lucky for us 2 seats opened up at the bar so we quickly went and claimed the seats, not really a big fan of bar seating but wasn't going to wait a few hours for a table. Everything on the menu sounded so good so we ended up ordering way too much food. First dish we got was the hot dog burnt ends and this dish works! It came with two halves slice bread, pickles, and ranch dip. Second dish is the bacon jam with Toasted baguette and it was tasty. The bartender suggested that we eat the hot dog burnt ends with the bacon jam and Toasted baguette and it went really well together. Third dish we got is the crispy chicken skin with smoked honey. The chicken was nice and crispy but lacked flavor and it wasn't really feeling it with the honey. We ended up using the bacon jam as a dip since it was really good with everything. Fourth dish is the baked Mac and cheese and I think there were hints of truffle in it. It was creamy and cheesy and quite good. Last dish is the black rice & oxtail risotto. This was super delicious and quite garlicky. We liked it alot but was too full to finish so had to take it togo. Overall a pretty good resturant. read more

What's the parking situation for lunch time?
All of DTLV is hourly paid parking. There is a lot directly across the street with plentiful spots, as well as the streets surrounding. All are paid by the hour.
Is it ok to just go for bloody marys on the patio or do we need to order food?
You are welcome to just drink without food. I believe our courtyard is open for outdoor seating currently.
Is there an elevator to the roof top for guests who are unable to climb stairs? Thanks!
Yes there is in the main building lobby. If you have issue locating, please seek assistance from one of our hosts.
Is there a food menu for the outside roof top bar area or is it strictly a bar for drinks?
