We just had an amazing evening with Kristian and Josh, alongside PJ (the GM) and of course Chef Chris who ALL went over the top to make us feel like long lost family! You can tell that they all absolutely love what they do. The food was amazing. Chef Chris' style of utilizing olive oil leaves you feeling full on flavor, not heavy from the over use of butter or lard like some places do. IMO, the yardstick of a good Italian restaurant is the lasagna. Zio's has one of the most unique you'll ever try. We enjoyed it alongside of the crab spaghettini. They were a fantastic juxtaposition to each other and showed that Chef Chris knows no limits. We also enjoyed a perfectly seared Snake River Farms fillet. It was incredibly tender and could be cut with the edge of the fork. PJ educated us on a new way to enjoy a palette cleansing sorbet by doing a prosecco pour over and we'll be adding that to our personal home entertaining repertoire. We couldn't decide on which desert so tried both the olio dulce and the raspberry ricotta cake. Both were amazing in their own right. Chef Chris also stopped by to have us try a new desert he's experimenting with...a sea salt caramel ice cream bar. Also phenomenal! The entire evening was one for the books and we are already planning a return trip with our extended families to share this Italian gem with them! This is at the Renaissance hotel. They have a covered parking garage onsite that takes you to the lobby. The restaurant has really nice decor. The waiter was attentive and helpful. The food was some of the best Italian I've had in Vegas. They also had Michigan cider which was an added bonus for me. The place was quiet mid afternoon on a weekday but it was quiet so we didn't mind. I'd recommend this place. They offered validated parking so it was free too as an added bonus. read more

SMH... Came in for breakfast and somehow still left hungry, which says a lot. The experience started off rough when my omelet came out in what felt like three minutes. It was obvious it had been rushed because they forgot to put the cheese inside. I sent it back expecting a fresh omelet, but instead they just covered the top with an excessive amount of cheese. There was still no cheese inside, just a pile melted over the outside. It honestly felt like the kitchen took the easy way out instead of fixing the mistake properly. And my coffee wasn't even hot, it was warm, I didn't even have the energy to ask for a fresh batch after how they handled my food. That completely killed the vibe for me. I ended up telling them not to worry about it because by that point I had lost my appetite. Hopefully they pay more attention to quality and preparation in the future. read more

First thing first- the service was phenomenal. This is my second time at Zio's and just like the first, the employees were amazingly personable and attentive. We were immediately greeted by Kristian and Joshua, both of whom continuously checked in with me and my boyfriend throughout our dining experience. They knew the menu inside and out and was able to meticulously describe each dish. We ordered two appetizers, two pasta entrees, and a salad- everything was delicious and I'm not even exaggerating. Compliments to the chef, because it's not easy seasoning and perfecting every single dish. I will note, however, if the Crab Spaghettini had a tinge of freshly squeezed lemon on top, it would've slightly elevated the dish. As for the truffle fries, you can definitely taste the truffle and it's not overbearingly strong and salty. I personally love complicated salads that you can't find just anywhere. Everything was paired nicely and I appreciate the slight zest it offered. Overall, we would 100% visit again, if not for the food, then for the service itself. We came here for my birthday celebration. Parking was pretty easy and they do validate at the front desk. You need to remember to bring your receipt from the restaurant though. The restaurant is really pretty and has a lot of comfortable seating. The tables are spaced out really well and it has an elegant, open vibe to it. The host was really nice and welcomed us well, giving us info on parking/validation and locals discounts. Our server was super nice and really attentive. The food was really good. We enjoyed the pumpkin pasta and a steak as our mains and started with a fennel salad and arancini. We finished the meal with tiramisu and their version was extremely delicious. Our cocktails were strong and really good. I was actually surprised at the cocktail menu. Super impressed. The only complaint I have was that they never acknowledged the birthday celebration. My husband was going to ask they put a candle in the tiramisu but it was ok. Overall though, we'll be back. read more

Zio is inside the Renaissance next to the Las Vegas Convention Center WEST Hall. Service is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. The Cesear salad is dressed (possibly overly dressed) is HUGE. It really should be shared between 2 people or add chicken to make it an entree on it's own. The calamari is delicious - comes out piping hot, not overly breaded or oily at all. The dipping sauce is tangy and light - you'll need another! I like the fried red and yellow bell peppers that accompany it as well. The rigatoni is delightful. The pasta is cooked well. It's a solid go to. The sausage orchiette is also wonderful. A little on the oily side and very little broccolini. I'd probably wouldn't order it again until the ratio is improved. our server gave us complimentary chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. BIG, crispy/crunchy on the outside but chewy in the middle with generous amounts of chocolate chunks and chips. SO NICE read more

The service at Zio's was on another level. Joshua was incredible and single handily heighten our experience. The food was very good and I enjoyed all of the dishes, but except one. Almost a perfect dinner for me. Situated on the first floor of the Renaissance Hotel, Zio's is set right near the lobby of the hotel. With a classic theme mixed with modern decor, you feel like you're in a hotel restaurant, but an elevated one. Zio's does offer validated parking if you park in the Renaissance garage. And while it's tucked away behind an unassuming bar, there are enough signs to help you find the hostess desk. We ordered the following: Truffle Arancini. This was by far the star of the night for us. The delicate hints of truffle with the extra crunch, very well made. Burrata and Beets. This was a miss. I like the idea, but I felt like the execution of the beets made it unpleasantly salty. While I understand the concept of using salt to bring out the natural sweetness of the beets, it didn't work for me because it was too salty against the delicate sweetness of the beets. I like everything else on the dish including the pistachios. Lasagna. Delicious. 20 gentle layers of lasagna was cut into fine strips and then seared on both sides. You have a nice molding flavors, which I enjoyed. Parmesan truffle fries. Well done and the truffle dipping sauce complemented the fries very well. Chocolate cake. Surprise for my daughter's birthday. Very nice and well done. The whipped cream felt home made and the vanilla bean ice cream works very well with everything. Near perfect experience for me. Had the pleasure of dining at Zios tonight. My husband and I used to come here when it was Envy Steakhouse. The remodel is beautiful. We sat a very comfy lounge sofa table. It was a Friday night and we had the place to ourselves. The food was excellent. My filet mignon steak was perfect and my husband's lasagna was amazing. Definitely coming back again. However what made the evening exceptional was the service we got. Kristian was extremely attentive during our entire meal. He gave great recommendations and was very diligent in keeping our drinks full and our table crumb free. He was even so kind as to treat us to their super delicious tiramisu for our anniversary. I had the pumpkin tagliatelle, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The lasagna was also very good--rich, comforting, and full of those crispy bits that make lasagna so satisfying. To top it off, they generously let us try a lemon raspberry ricotta cake that hasn't even made it onto the menu yet. The Caesar salad was delicious and although it was cut up the way I like it; the lettuce was soft enough to cut easily. I really enjoyed the broccolini because it had a hint of spice in it. We all had steaks and one was well done. Immediately the server took it back, re-fired it to perfection. Also at the end of the meal the waiter offered us 4 deserts for the Mis-fired steak. It is not all that often that you see this type of service. Also, location off strip is perfect. Not too many people and we could have a great meeting. So glad we found this hidden gem! We were wanting Italian food but didn't want to venture onto the strip, this place is located near the convention center away from all the lights. They recently remodeled and I don't know how it looked like before but it's beautiful inside. The dark green accents and dim lights give off a classy, elegant look but not over the top! Josh, Kat and Chef Chris made this experience unforgettable. You get delicious complimentary focaccia bread to start. The food was a 10/10 for me, my favorite was the Pesto Bucatini and the Truffle Arancini, omg soo good! What a pleasant experience! I came across this restaurant while trying to find a place to celebrate my anniversary and I had such a great time. The restaurant is located inside the Renaissance hotel which is operated by Marriott. The restaurant is big and spacious with very unique design and very Marriott signature. We didnt have to wait too long for our table and the server was so kind. He offered us champagne to celebrate our anniversary and I was truly surprised and happy about it. The service and care that he gave us was superb, I would definitely come back just because of him and the staff. We ordered the pork Malanese with pasta and we love them. The food come out quick and warm. However, they were a little over seasoning but it is ok. I came back this year even though I wasn't staying at the hotel, and it still holds up. This time I visited for breakfast and had the omelet without sourdough toast. I would give the coffee a 4/10, but they bring you a carafe so you can keep filling up. The omelette was solid and not too greasy. I was staying at the Renaissance so I had room service one night and lunch the following day at Zio's. To my surprise the room service was delicious! I ordered the Caesar salad, arancini, and shrimp scampi. By far the shrimp scampi was my favorite plate! The buttery sauce was perfect, not too heavy. The following day I went back for the Caesar salad and caprese sandwich. The salad was great but I added shrimp and that was undercooked. The truffle fries were insanely good! Menu is somewhat short, but has sufficient variety. Wine by the bottle prices are rather obscene (this is the reason for 4.5 rating instead of 5). I took beets salad with burrata as an appetizer, and the dish was very generous in size and would be perfectly shareable for 2 people if not even for more. More importantly, it was very tasty. I took another appetizer, tuna crudo as my main dish - this can be otherwise described as tuna carpaccio or even sashimi. Tuna was also delicious. Good service, prompt and friendly. This place really gets it right when it comes to atmosphere and service. I came for breakfast, and everything was thoughtfully done. The toast came with a little jar of marmalade and rich French butter--small touches that made a big impression. The coffee was excellent: strong, smooth, and served in a personal carafe that held several cups, so I didn't have to flag anyone down for refills. I barely needed milk, which says a lot. The pork sausage was packed with flavor, and the fingerling potatoes were crisp and well-seasoned. The price--around $40--was definitely on the higher side for breakfast, but considering the quality and the upscale Vegas setting, it felt fair. read more
