The Laundry Room is a cool, intimate speakeasy located within downtown LV. Only 16 people are allowed in at one time, you need a reservation, and there's a dress code. We were seated at the bar and had a nice time interacting with the cocktail craftsman/man in charge, Davey. The menu is his creative brainchild and changes a few times a year, with the current one based on the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. There's a 90 minute limit and 2 drink minimum per guest. Because of the craft and attention to detail that goes into each cocktail, we finished our 2 drinks just about right at the 90 minute mark. I really enjoyed both of my cocktails but the one that stood out to me the most was Strange Medicine. It was reminiscent of a martini but with Brie-washed Old Bison vodka, Cocchi Americano, and herb oil. It was so good that I wasn't sure what drink to choose next, but Davey was helpful with a great recommendation for another cocktail served with a chunk of parmesan cheese on top. Keep in mind that you're paying for the experience and the level of craft. So with a 2 drink minimum it won't be a cheap experience but it's definitely something worth checking out for the unique, creative cocktails. read more

Pro: Fear and Loathing menu, updated furniture, yummy drinks Con: Not the previous Laundry Room you remembered, glorified tourist trap, lack of atmosphere control. Slow drink service. The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review. read more

Loved this spot! A true speakeasy like bar with speakeasy bartenders and drinks. It's located in downtown on Fremont street inside the commonwealth and was easy to find. I ordered the southern slipper off the menu at first and the ordered something that I give the type of things I like my drink to taste like and had the bartender get creative. Both drinks were great. My wife had 2 mocktails and both were really good, especially the first one he created based off her flavor profile. Pianist playing inside and an ancient bathroom design. Can't take pictures inside but I got a picture of the bathroom. They require you to pay for the popcorn they give you ($6 per person) and a 2 drink minimum. You spend at least $60 per person for the 2 drinks and popcorn but I think it's worth it. They take their time to make the handcrafted drinks. read more

My love for vintage-themed bars and the unconventional night out is at its all time high, so I decided to cultivate a list of Speakeasies to try here in Las Vegas and this was one of them. This one is located hidden inside of The Commonwealth which is another bar. You will need a reservation in advance as well as a card on file to hold your reservation. If you don't show up or your late you will be charged $25 so be aware of that. When you arrive, if your early, you will wait inside of The Commonwealth for a host to come get you at the exact time of your reservation , I mean to a Tee. Inside was smaller than I expected. I think this is the smallest one I've so seen so far. The reservations stated they only allowed 22 people in at a time and I can see why. The host was very nice and handed us a menu complete with a list of rules which I thought were pretty interesting. I could not take any fotos of anything, per the rules. Some of the important listed rules were as follows: 1. No phones out on the tables 2. Use an inside voice and "speak easy" lol They also emphasized that this isn't a bar so loud conversations or noise wasn't aloud. 3. You had to purchase a min of 2 drinks per person 4. You had to purchase 1 gourmet popcorn which was $6 5. You had to be dressed for the occasion (dress code) There were more rules however I feel like these were the more important ones to highlight. The drinks were very creative and averaged about $17-22 in price. Some drinks were listed with ingredients like egg whites, fresh squeezed cucumber juice, maple honey, etc. things you wouldn't even think you can make a cocktail with. There's tons of drinks to try and trust me their stiff! they also had a faux smell of leather and 1930s cigars for the vibes however you can tell it was fake. it wasn't a steady stream like other speakeasies I've been to. This is a super cool speakeasy! The decor and ambiance are authentic to the 20's. They try to give you a real speakeasy feel by even encouraging you to keep your voices down and abiding by some old timey behavior rules. However, they will let you text, because they didn't want to scare away all the phone obsessed clientele. It was fun pretending to be back in the era of manners and prohibition. The drinks were all fantastic! They are carefully crafted cocktails, not your run of the mill bar drinks. They focus on flavors and blend them well. Even the old fashioned didn't seem spirit-forward, which is unusual. One fun thing is you can keep your menu, get each drink signed off as you try them , and get added to the Dean's List when you try them all. Looked up reservations, which they had a lot available. I just came to find a list of minimums, two drink, popcorn at six bucks and 25% right off the top. 90 minutes time limit as well No thanks, nothing is that cool around downtown Vegas where the homeless roam about and urinate next to the door. Get your popcorn ready for this one. Nobody likes doing laundry. But it's something you have to do. The Laundry Room, on the other hand, is somewhere you should avoid. Why? Here's my experience so you can judge things for yourself. The Laundry Room is not a laundromat. It's a speakeasy. And one that requires reservations, even on weekdays. When you make a reservation online, you have to agree that you will be charged $25 as a cancellation fee if you're a no-show. Are we starting to see a trend here? I made a reservation for two for a Monday night at 10:15. Once I arrived, the bouncer informed me that my friend could not get in because he was wearing "athletic shorts." He was not in fact wearing athletic shorts. I know what athletic shorts are and they did not fit the bill. And while I hate to do this, it is important information. My friend is African-American. After talking to the bouncer about the situation (he said his name was Darrell though I wouldn't be surprised if he gave me a fake name), I could tell things weren't going anywhere. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that there was no manager present that night. I then asked to speak to whoever was making decisions for the evening and was told that I could text a number instead. I texted the number three times and received no response. Have you ever experienced a bar or restaurant that tells you to text them when you're at the establishment and refuses to speak to you person-to-person. This is also an establishment that doesn't have a phone number you can call. It's email only. Are you seeing a trend here? I then asked if I could go in alone and the bouncer told me that I couldn't because the reservation was for two people and they didn't want to leave an open seat. And that I would be charged the $25 fee even though I didn't cancel. I told the bouncer I would take a picture of him and then he freaked out and went inside. I saw him hiding behind the front door, trying to avoid being caught on camera. Given my experience, it's pretty clear how this business operates. Here's one last piece of information: they require a two-drink minimum per person, they require you to buy their popcorn, and they charge 25% gratuity automatically. Seriously? These are the policies of a speakeasy that treats its customers in a certain way, exploits people to make a buck, and creates fake hype for themselves. I'll do my laundry elsewhere. Did I really never write a review for The Laundry Room? Oof! We came to The Laundry Room after I recommended this place to several co-workers and friends. Located inside The Commonwealth, The Laundry Room is a whole different vibe. You will need reservations for The Laundry Room. We booked several weeks out, but I've had friends get same week rezzies and on rare occasions same day. You will need to do all of this online. I don't believe there's any more texting numbers with passwords, but you can double check by following their social media and visiting their website for current info. Our reservations were at 5pm and we arrived around 4:45pm - before either The Laundry Room or Commonwealth officially opened. There is a staff member manning the door and will help you with where you need to go. We checked in at the front and were told to head down the bar and wait there. After about 10 minutes another staff member greeted us and ran over all the "rules"... needless to say if you're put off by any kind of rules which include quietly speaking, no mobile devices, and ordering minimums, find another spot. Inside The Laundry Room is small. Very small. Intimate, cosy, and dimly lit - everything I love about a good cocktail bar. We followed the suggestions by providing our likes/dislikes and the bartender went to work creating our drinks. We were also given some really delicious dill pickle popcorn - seriously, yum! Our drinks were all expertly crafted, but also didn't quite reach the five star ceiling for me. Our waiter was also SO QUIET that we often struggled to hear him. Like, I get the appeal of a speakeasy and understand the quiet talking but when there's a piano player right next to you it can be a little difficult to hear. I can imagine this being a struggle for anyone who is hard of hearing. Had the most lovely experience at the laundry room! At first I wasn't super sure what to expect because the main bar entrance area doesn't look all that impressive; however, after entering the speakeasy in the back it was quite cute and my type of speakeasy vibes. We had several drinks here that were all crafted to perfection, we sat at the bar with the bar tender and watched him make all the cocktails, he even let us keep our menus which was a nice touch. The space only allows seating for a few people so reservations are required and then you have to show up for sure given the small number of people that can be accommodated. You're required to have 2 drinks each and order their popcorn, the only pick I have is that they charged us for popcorn but we never got any-- I did hear it was good though from the other patrons. I was excited to try this place out - I had seen an Instagram reel about it (and the person must have been invited, because no photos are allowed, usually) and it looked awesome. Reservations open up two weeks in advance so I booked one for my boyfriend and I for yesterday at 815pm. The speakeasy is located inside Commonwealth. Athletic wear is not allowed, as other reviewers have mentioned, so I switched to sandals instead of my usual sneakers. Jeans, however, are allowed. Once you get inside Commonwealth, you wait for the host or hostess to come get you for Laundry Room, as the door is slightly hidden on one wall in Commonwealth. Before you get into the speakeasy, they tell you the rules: basically don't be loud, don't be on your phone, and behave like ladies and gentlemen. After that, you're led into the main Laundry Room, which is very small. When I made the reservation, it clearly stated that there is a two drink minimum per person, you must each purchase the gourmet popcorn at $6 a piece, and there is a 25% gratuity, which actually breaks down to 5% service fee and 20% gratuity. I had read that the popcorn was truffle popcorn so I was excited to try it but instead we had a mix of what I'm pretty sure was dill pickle popcorn and chocolate popcorn. Both were very good and you get unlimited refills. My first drink was the blackberry smash or something like it and it was good, it was sour and very fruity. My second drink was the Brandy Alexander which was fabulous, it was very creamy. You can also have the bartender make a custom drink based on a few flavors you like, which my boyfriend did, and his tasted like an old fashioned with a few other flavors thrown in. He thought it was very tasty but the bartender would not tell him the exact flavors in it, and joked "We don't serve 'alcohol' here." I did sneak some photos of the bathroom, which was pretty cool: It had old newspapers plastered all over the walls. Overall this place was pretty cool and it was nice and quiet, which was a nice respite from Vegas and Fremont especially. I would come back here for sure but just be aware that it's expensive: for two people, the minimum with the two drink policy plus the popcorn and tip would have been about 90 to $100 I believe. I wanted to push back our time for cocktails but this was not accommodated due to the full book of reservations. When we arrived, we were not given the hidden speak easy option because of a private party. We were left waiting for someone to come to the side door where we waited for a handful of minutes. It took away from the experience. I also wish we were given the option for bar or seats. Once we sat down, and had our drinks, we could hear the event next door. Again, taking away from it all. Drinks were delicious and well crafted. The gourmet popcorn is a nice gesture but being that it's a charged fee, I suggest that popcorn is offered to go for the guests. read more

I love myself a speakeasy! My husband previously visited this place and knew it was right up my alley. We were able to get a last minute resy (thank you to whoever canceled!) and we showed up without a minute to spare on the grace period. They were super nice and didn't give us any crap for that which was greatly appreciated! We checked in and glided past the line waiting for the main bar. We then waited as we were whisked away into a little holding space while the hostess explained the rules and the experience. The menu is thorough! I loved that we had plenty of time to read through the menu and were not rushed. We enjoyed a welcome drink and some popcorn while we decided on our drinks. There is a two drink minimum and unlimited popcorn must be purchased as well. It's delicious so don't be mad about that part :) We each had a couple of delicious drinks (I can't recall which because photos are not allowed and I usually post them to Yelp to remember later for my reviews). It was nice to enjoy the ambiance of the small area with nobody on their phones, just enjoying casual conversation. I also loved that we could hear the music from the bar next door but it was muted through the walls, allowing a nice ambiance. The staff is exceptional and the vibe is excellent. I'm so excited I finally got to try this place out. If you like a speakeasy vibe, you will love this place. Of all the speakeasy lounges we've been too, this may be one of the few that really leans into the secrecy and quietness of a clandestine lounge. The drinks we sampled were delicious and the menu is organized around tastes rather than spirits. This is helpful if you want to explore a different type of cocktail. We found the staff to be quite knowledgeable and trustworthy guides on pointing us towards options aligned to our tastes. The only tweak I would make, a relatively minor thing, is the time limit. On the day we visited, things were somewhat quiet, but we still were presented with a time limit for the table. (About enough for two, maybe three rounds of drinks.) I have visited Vegas yearly for the past 14 years, and had never heard of this place until I received a reco for this hidden treasure from my cousin at a Memorial Day BBQ. It was nice to get off the bustling Strip, head downtown and do something calm and different. The concoctions were a treat, as was the easy atmosphere. The tasting notes were spot ok. The BEST cocktails I've ever had! Fun popcorn selections that changes as they run out of one flavor they get a different kind. Such a tight little intimate area with vintage seatings and a piano player that plays every so often and takes requests. So many rules for this spot and limited seating with a bit of a wait even with a mandatory reservation but it is definitely worth checking out if you can appreciate a custom made craft cocktail. You just tell the bartender what flavor profiles you want and he will deliver it to you with perfect execution! I asked for an orange creamsicle type of drink with egg whites and no cream added. It was exactly what I wanted, I couldn't have been more impressed until I got my 2nd cocktail. For my 2nd one, I wanted a smokey old fashioned type of drink with muddled blackberries with a spicy kick, which they had habanero bitters and luxardo cherries. That drink was the most amazing cocktail I've ever had! I feel like I will never get the same cocktails ever again anywhere else, unless I go back and the same bartender is there. Solid speakeasy in Las Vega$! We looked around for a bar to check out, and kept coming across The Laundry Room on different online lists. We weren't sure what it would be like, but definitely we're more excited to find an opening just a few hours before on the same day. Since Commonwealth wasn't open, it was thankfully a peaceful low key evening at The Laundry Room. Tied with lots of history, the space is certainly a piece of history-- and just good jazzy-vibes all around. I personally enjoyed my two (sour based) drinks-- one with tequila as the based and the other a light rum. Yum yummy. Solid drinks all for $18. Unlimited popcorn for $6. Shoutout to Tyler (spelling?) for keeping the drinks strong and coming! A favorite was being asked for song choices for the pianist to play! It was such a treat. Leon (the pianist) is incredibly talented. Random things: currently their inside baño is busted but thankfully since Commonwealth was closed, you don't need to fight to use the loo/potty! The Laundry Room - Waiting to go in! - Lounges Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

Call me uncouth and unsophisticated all you want. But this was not what I was expecting. And to be honest I had no idea what I was actually expecting, except an exceptional experience due to the mystery and exclusivity of this bar. I remember stumbling around here last year and wanting to go in but having to make a reservation maybe 2 weeks in advance and finding the whole thing intriguing. Then my dad was in town and we don't have a great relationship as we always fight so I just ignore him. But that hasn't been working out well either so I decided to take him out on a dad date. Just me and him. So we can really communicate. I wanted to find a place that was nice, high end, with good atmosphere. I was looking at the Legacy Rooftop bar or Laundry Room since they have such a exclusive reputation, 2 drinks minimum, etc. I was surprisingly able to get a last minute reservation on a Monday and we went. I don't know. I was a little disappointed with the inside. It was in this run down, really old, kind of ugly sort of tiny bar. Sorry to not be cool but I was not impressed with the crayon drawn over glass doors and this really old, musty, 200 years ago vibe. I guess I'm just not sophisticated like all these other yelpers on here. The drinks were great though. Very tasty and well made. I'm not cocktail connoisseur but I did really enjoy the drinks I tried. Also like that they don't allow photos or phone out. It's nice. But it was my first dad date and would have been nice to take a photo and it was too hectic outside. Maybe next time. The hostess said there's a $6 mandatory popcorn but it was unlimited. I don't eat popcorn. But I didn't have dinner and the popcorn was covered in butter/salt or chocolate syrup and was really tasty. So I ate a bunch. She said it was unlimited so I asked for a refill and they charged another $6. So why say it was unlimited if you charge for each refill? Are there places that WON'T refill it? Even if you pay for each order? The explanation was misleading. Mandatory 25% tip. So I think it was $120 or so for us. Not the end of the world but not the best money I've ever spent either. P.S. I enjoyed my experience here to the fullest! Really enjoying the full atmosphere of a "speakeasy". The laundry room sets the tone and it's up to the patrons to follow through with no cell phones speaking easy and just enjoying their time, my husband and I did very much so! To start, we told the host/ bouncer you were there for the speakeasy. We were quickly explained the house rules. Once seated, they provided us with a starter drink, can't remember the name but it was delicious! The bartender is efficient, focused, and kind. It was amazing to watch him crank out drinks in a calm, orderly fashion for the entire speakeasy. You can tell he is a professional at this, and has managed it for many years! We were fortunate to sit at the bar top and watch him in action firsthand. At first, I was a little taken back about needing to get the popcorn, but it proved to be very addicting and the perfect touch. One of the 3 flavors we revived was a dill flavor which was fabulous. I probably had them refill it twice for myself alone. Nobody's judging right. We enjoyed trying new drinks and a few classic drinks. (Old fashion of course) You must make a reservation in advance, we were seated around 5:30, so music in the front of House was not of a concern. It's all part of the experience of being in a "back / side room" that others don't have access to. What a find this is. You need to make reservations a month in advance so watch your calendar. Only 20 guests allowed at a time. We arrived for our 5:30 reservation and were greeted to enter the "secret door" . The vibe is totally NOT Las Vegas. It was quiet with a live piano player playing soft music. The hand crafted cocktails were amazing. Read the cocktail menu for each drink's tasting notes and you will not go wrong. It is a two drink minimum and tip is included. The popcorn is amazing and well worth the included price. No other food is served as it is a true craft cocktail bar. My wife and I and another couple truly enjoyed the quiet from the Vegas craziness. It was an ahhh moment, however a two block walking distance from the loud and party Fremont street experience. We envisioned something else when visiting this place. We were told not to use our phones, but the hostess was on her phone the entire time, leaning against the wall behind us. Talking to the bearded bartender was like talking to a rock, but less enjoyable. I had high hopes for his cocktail-making prowess. However, the cocktails were incredibly unbalanced, as if they weren't tested before serving. Our favorite drink was the palate cleanser upon sitting down. We were OK with the two-drink minimum, 90-minute time limit, popcorn fee, and 25% auto-gratuity. However, the staff need hospitality training, especially in a city where hospitality will make or break your business. Side note: The pianist was pure class! read more

TL;DR - great theme and experience. Tell the bouncer/security guard you're here for the speak easy and they'll tell you next steps - bathroom sink was a little extra...iykyk - Anthony wasn't as mean as everyone mention. The dude is making drinks for everyone, so he's hustlin'/focused - the cocktail list is huge and all drinks are $19. If you want a "custom" cocktail, it will take longer to make and cost more - sign up for the waitlist, you never know if they'll have an opening ---- So, got an extra night in Las Vegas and decided to stay at the Golden Nugget. When looking for things to do, the Laundry Room came up and I immediately looked to make a reservation that night. Unfortunately there were no openings but I signed up for their waitlist. This was all done around Noon the day of. So thankful I signed up for the waitlist because I recieved a text message that there was an opening and immediately said yes. FYI, deff ensure to read the text confirmation instructions. Also, No payment info was needed when I joined the wait list and when making the reservation Later that day, my boyfriend and I were reading reviews and amongst all the five stars, we noticed the few one star reviews mentioned the mixologist Anthony. Bruh, we got Anthony lmfao. We were seated at a table across from the bar and Antony came to great is right away with a welcome drink and to explain the rules. They do have all the rules but you can talk, you're in a small space, so I get the whole "speak even and not loud." The drink menu is based around cars and each page has a "theme" with corresponding drink flavors (smoke, bright, boozy, cream). The mixologist will tell you to focus on the "drink notes" when selecting. There is a 2 drink minimum within the 90 min reservation but you can stay long and order more if there aren't any other reservations. Also, I will say the $6 for unlimited popcorn felt silly but we were surprised by the flavors they had and I will add it was unlimited but they charge by per person at the table, so if there are 4 of you, you'll each be charged $6 and eat/share from the same popcorn bowl unlimitedly. A lot of people felt the interior was mid but we felt it was nice. The bathroom mechanics were definitely over done, like why a wrench to lock the door? Lol. The sink mechanism is wild. Overall, we're glad we came and if we're ever back on Freemont st, would be happy to come back to The Laundry Room. read more

We loved this speakeasy. It's a nice intimate size, soft piano music and the drinks were delicious. No photos as they don't allow them inside. You do have to buy popcorn, per person. read more
