I visited Hachi in Las Vegas with my family for my birthday celebration, and this dinner definitely turned into a night to remember. My family made a reservation because they wanted to celebrate my birthday, so I was really looking forward to it. When it is your birthday, even a small detail feels a little more important. You want the night to feel special, smooth, and happy from the beginning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there seemed to be a small issue with the reservation, and the table we were given was much smaller than expected. Since we were there as a family for a birthday dinner, it felt uncomfortable at first. I have to be honest -- my mood was not great in the beginning. It was one of those moments where you think, "Oh no, is this how the night is going to start?" But then the food started coming out, and Hachi completely turned the night around. The first thing that changed my mood was the beer. The draft beer was served in an unbelievably icy-cold mug. It was not just cold -- it looked and felt like it had come straight out of a freezer. The foam was smooth, the beer was crisp, and the first sip was so refreshing that I almost forgot I had been upset a few minutes earlier. That beer alone deserves applause. Sometimes a perfect cold beer can fix a whole mood, and this one absolutely did. The biggest highlight of the night was the tuna toro. It was incredible. The texture was so soft and delicate that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Rich, buttery, fresh, and so smooth. It was the kind of bite that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a second. We loved it so much that we ordered it three times. Ordering the same dish three times says everything. It was not a maybe. It was not a "let's think about it." It was a clear yes every time. The skewers were also very good. The grilled meats had a nice smoky flavor, and they were seasoned well without being too salty. They paired perfectly with the icy beer. But the shrimp skewer was especially memorable. The shrimp had that perfect bouncy, juicy texture. It was grilled nicely, still tender, and full of natural sweetness. Some grilled shrimp can become dry or forgettable, but this one had personality. Small skewer, big impact. We also enjoyed several other izakaya-style dishes. The grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes were simple but delicious, and they helped balance out the richer dishes. The grilled squid had a great smoky flavor and a chewy texture that went so well with beer. These are exactly the kinds of dishes that make izakaya dining so fun -- one bite, one sip, one more bite, and suddenly the table is full of happy people. The sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully served over ice. There was a nice variety, including tuna, salmon, white fish, scallop, and ikura. Everything looked clean and fresh, and the presentation made it feel even more enjoyable. But honestly, the toro was the star. I will probably remember that toro for a long time. My daughter ordered tonkatsu, and that was also a huge hit. Sometimes at restaurants like this, kids' dishes can feel like an afterthought, but this tonkatsu was really good. It was crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Seeing my daughter enjoy her food made my birthday dinner even better. As a mom, when your child eats well and is happy, the whole meal suddenly feels more peaceful. That is just the truth. Overall, Hachi started with a little frustration because of the reservation issue and the small table, but the food and drinks completely saved the night. The icy-cold beer, the amazing tuna toro, the juicy shrimp skewer, and the tonkatsu were all memorable. The food was strong enough to make us forget the rough beginning, and by the end of the meal, we were all happy. Las Vegas has so many flashy restaurants, but Hachi has that casual, comfortable izakaya charm. It is the kind of place where you order many small dishes, share with the table, drink something cold, and let the night slowly become fun. I would definitely come back next time I am in Las Vegas. Next time, I already know what I am ordering first: an icy-cold beer and tuna toro. And honestly, I may order the toro twice from the beginning, because one order is definitely not enough. read more

I came here on a weekday around 6pm and there was already an hour wait! They sure get busy. The place is pretty small but gives a homey feel. The service was quick and efficient tho! Food: Juicy karage chicken 8/10: they were indeed juicy and flavorful. I recommend getting their house special negi sauce. It's really good and umami. Goes well w the chicken and can be a dipping sauce for other dishes too! Sukiyaki hot pot 9/10: super earthy feel. Udon Noodles were done right and the flavor felt so clean. It also came with a good amount of protein! I would definely get this again. Beef tataki 7/10: the beef was good but not as tender as I would like it. It had a bit of a chew. I wish it absorbed more of the saucy flavor. Oyako don 5/10: sadly this was probably my least favorite dish. It didn't really have much flavor. I ended up using the sauce from my karage to boost the flavor. Nothing really special about this one. Grilled steak 10/10: this dish was so worth and delicious. I remember thinking it was good, but the yakitori was a little too salty for my taste. I think that's why we never made it back. Well, here I am 10 years later, and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Hachi is officially the best izakaya in Las Vegas. When I come to Vegas my first dinner stop is always Hachi. I sit at the bar and watch them cook and chat with everyone. It is always a great experience. It reminds me of a true bar in Japan and the food is great. Every bite fresh and amazing. They grill Yakitori and the charcoal comes from Japan. Our second time here and the food is amazing yet again! The seating wraps around the open bar and kitchen area, so you're essentially dining around the heart of the cooking space. It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. Came here on a Friday night and didn't have to wait long at all. We got seated at the sushi bar although I would have preferred a table. I did like how the sushi chef handed us each dish as it was done though. I enjoyed the tapas, sushi/nigiri, and yakitori mixes. They had a grill to grill all the yakitoris. It's nice to be able to enjoy small portions of food to try more things. Everything we got was pretty good and I was surprised how inexpensive the bill was since I was expecting more. A meal so fantastic I sincerely forgot to take photos of almost any kind. Sincerely one of my top 3 restaurants in Vegas after only having eaten once. We came with the objective as trying as many foods as possible. Karaage, takoyaki, pork belly, Hot pot, sashimi, nigiri, Yakitori, a ton of skewers, and more. I'm forgetting stuff, but every single thing we ate was positively divine. The highlights were definitely the karaage, which were so crispy and impossibly juicy at the same time, the pork belly, which had an incredible salty flavor with the perfect crispiness, a wagyu skewer, and the sashimi. Oh my god, I've never had softer fish in my life. It was hard to believe that this quality of fish could be had in Las Vegas. But seriously, every single thing we ate was incredible. My friends and I were positively flooded that each new thing we ordered was just as delicious as the last thing we ordered. The only thing I remembered to take a photo of was the honey toast, which was also fantastic. Our server, Marc, was only on his third day. But he was fun and full of personality, and had an insane amount of great recommendations. He almost told us what to order for our entire meal, and he knocked it out of the park. The place is a bit small, and it is pretty much always slammed busy, which is why we've never had the chance to come here before. Since it's so small, it tends to be pretty loud. We got here around 9ish and wait was maybe 5 min with a couple ahead of us. Service was great- was welcomed in by a friendly young lady. And our server was great too. Love the feel of the restaurant. We sat at the bar and their table seating seems great for small groups. The menu was filled with some of our faves and some new things. Idk where to start but food was great! We were going to pull up on Thursday night for dinner but luckily, I saw a tip from yelp that it would be best to make a reservation. When I called the restaurant, they said everything was booked until 7:30pm so we took the first available. We were seated quickly after arriving and it looked like the only available seating was at the bar, so if you plan to go, it would be best to reserve ahead if you want a table. We ordered skewers: salt chicken*, marinated pork, chicken skin, shitake mushroom*, bacon mochi. Everything was good but my favorites were the ones with the stars. We got the poke salad and the Hachi chicken salad*. I highly recommend the Hachi chicken salad! It had juicy chicken and the crispy bowl was delicious! We also ordered meatballs with poached egg, pork chasu, Hiyashi Nasu(cold eggplant), a jalapeno yellowtail roll* and yam noodles*. hachi is lowkey my favorite chill, loungey bar place! gets busy fast but its welll worth it. went here recently again with some friends and snagged some chuhais. theyre a great option if you dont like strong tasting drinks that are huge and affordable! the mango was great and the lemon wasnt sour which i was afraid of. the seasonal peach oolong was crazy good and we would go back for that alone. we felt that the double shot watered down the tea flavor though! got a few skewers, the mushroom bacon was my favorite. my friend loved the chicken skin, and we all really liked the chicken thigh. make sure to ask for extra of the skewer salt! i dont usually like sukiyaki broth but it was delicious and shareable with another person if you order other bites. the yellowtail carpaccio and hamachi handroll practically melted, quality was peak. tiger roll was great too, and i liked that it wasnt drowned in sauce. only thing we didnt like was the steak, it was prettyy dry despite being marinated and still a little pink. We visited on a late Sunday night with a party of 10, and even though our reservation was for 8pm, we were seated almost an hour early, which was a nice surprise. Heads up that parking is extremely limited and the surrounding area doesn't feel the safest, so it's best to avoid bringing valuables or keep them out of sight. Once seated, service was quick and efficient, and we were able to get our orders in without any issues. We ended up trying a wide variety of items: Pork Belly (5/5): Super juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. One of the standout dishes. Duck Skewers (4/5): Slightly firmer and gamier than expected, but still enjoyable and worth trying if you like duck. Ramen (3/5): The weakest of the bunch. Noodles had a texture similar to al dente chicken noodle soup, and the broth felt a bit thin and lacking depth. Sukiyaki (5/5): Rich, flavorful broth that soaked perfectly into the glass noodles, with plenty of tofu, veggies, and beef. Very satisfying. Tiger Roll (5/5): Fresh and generously filled, with a great balance of toppings in each bite. Pork Katsu (5/5): Fried perfectly with a crisp exterior, not greasy, and paired well with the katsu sauce and refreshing salad. Takoyaki (5/5): Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with generous pieces of octopus. Overall, a great izakaya experience with a wide variety of strong dishes. Absolutely horrible customer service. The older woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude, disrespectful, and aggressive for absolutely no reason. I calmly explained that I had just called and was specifically told we could come directly and that our table could be held. Instead of listening or trying to help, she immediately responded with a nasty attitude and said, "If you don't want to wait, you can leave." We spent almost $190 for two people, and no customer spending that kind of money should ever be treated this way. Her behavior completely ruined the experience for us. We've been coming to Hachi for a bit now, and I can say that the service, and food is ALWAYS the same. Friendly, quick and delicious! I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation ahead of time, because while they open at 5:30, reservations will always be booked for that time, and they will have a wait even if you get there at opening. However, if you don't mind bar seating that is always an option, and it was what we did when we went for the first time as a walk-in. The energy in the restaurant is always high, and service is so friendly. This last visit was a visit for my birthday, we got sat in the side room that has three tables in there, it was perfect. They let us know when making the reservation that there would be a 90-minute time limit, and we felt that was the right amount of time, nothing felt rushed and all the food we ordered was coursed out nicely. Highly recommend getting the Sashimi 6 choice option - for $29.95 you get such a great selection of sashimi, so fresh and tasty! As far as izakaya goes in Vegas, I was pretty impressed with Hachi! Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for larger groups. Our group of 7 was told they didn't have any reservations until 9/930 for Saturday night while we were in Vegas, but they did say we could show up at opening and they would see how they could accommodate us at that time....and so we did! We were first in line before they opened at 5:30pm, and we were told they would take care of some people with reservations first and then seat us, and we would have to finish before 7pm in time for the next reservation. Our group of 7 finished dinner just before 7pm, so they did work fast even with all of our skewer orders and I think our group enjoyed their Karaage, Pork Cheek and Chicken Skewers. Also tried an interesting Squid skewer (can't remember the name), but texture is like cartilage and has a good smoky flavor from the grill. I would say each skewer ranges between $2.50-$4/each. They ran out of salmon collar already so we also got 2 Yellowtail (smaller size) that was tasty. Takoyaki was standard & others in my group who tried the Ramen and Katsu said they were standard as well. Parking is shared lot in plaza. It was prepared perfectly--velvety and clean. * Small Plates: We ordered a huge variety of tapas-style dishes, and the efficiency of the kitchen is impressive given how busy they are. The Experience: It's a semi-casual but refined setting that works for a date or a big group dinner. It's located in a strip mall on Jones Blvd, so parking can be a little tight, but it is 100% worth the short drive from the Strip for this level of quality and price. The Verdict: Hachi is a 5-star destination for anyone who appreciates the art of the grill and high-quality seafood. First, let me just say Hachi is in a BUSY plaza and shares a parking lot that is way too small to support all the businesses in the area, making parking a logistical nightmare. Make sure you carpool and get here early. It took us 10 min to find parking. Additionally, this place appears to always be packed. Thankfully, they take reservations--including earlier on the same day if you squirrel brain and forget until day of (like me)! The entryway is nearly nonexistent and there's very little standing or sitting room. There's a handful of chairs in the waiting area. Once we got sat, everything was pretty smooth and easygoing. They had a lottttt of food items and a couple menus to look at. The skewers were on their own paper menu for marking selections. They serve alcohol as well but I found their sake menu to be underwhelming. Personally, I like nigori sake but they only had one option. Think of the food and ordering like tapas. The plates and serving sizes were mostly smaller plates and the four of us ordered various things and shared. The sashimi was super fresh and delicious--I could have ordered that 10x over. The chicken skin was okay. It honestly reminded me more of chicharrónes though. Service was good. I accidentally tripped on a lamp cord and the staff was super nice about (versus judgmental). Our waitress was also very helpful and took time to explain the menu to us. We were looked after well. Overall, I'm happy I checked this place off the list of places to try. My friends and I all liked the food and we were happy about having a nice spot to get together for girls night. read more

First time here and I absolutely loved it. Went on a Saturday night, it was about a 25minute wait. Food was so fresh. Really enjoyed everything we had. We had a tiger roll, pork belly, chicken thigh, the bacon wrapped Mochi, and more . I didn't even take pics of everything because it was so good. They sit larger parties in booths and perhaps parties of 2 at the bar. Would definitely recommend and return. read more

I want to start by saying that I genuinely like Hachi and the food is excellent. There are several standout dishes that keep me coming back. The Hachi Style Salad with diced chicken and mixed greens on a crispy wrap with garlic onion and house special dressing is fantastic. The bluefin toro nigiri is so satisfyingly buttery. For the yakitori menu, there are some clear winners. The pork belly is great both salted and with sauce, though I personally preferred the salted version. I also tried the pork with negi shio (Japanese green onions) which was really good. The premium wagyu beef skewer was rich and delicious, and I could easily eat a whole platter of the enoki wrapped in bacon. The shiitake butter mushrooms with soy sauce are simple but incredibly satisfying, especially paired with the wagyu skewer. Their Japanese brown rice tea with matcha is such comforting drink. We actually went two nights in a row. The first night, on Thursday, everything was great and the service was on point. The second night, however, felt very different. I arrived around 10:00 PM and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. After roughly 25 minutes, I checked back in with the host and she asked for my name. I mentioned that the other host had not asked for it when I arrived, which was concerning. She then turned to the other host, who said she hadn't taken my name and instead had written down "green." Her exact words were, "I didn't ask for your name. I just wrote down green. It was easier." Mind you, I was wearing a yellow sweater, and throughout the time I had been there I was the one politely communicating with her, not my friend in the green sweater. The response came across as pretty rude and dismissive. She also mentioned that when I arrived there were two parties ahead of me, yet during that time they seated four groups: one table of four and three separate tables of couples. Around 10:30 PM I went back up to ask how their seating and reservation system worked. They confirmed there were two parties ahead of me when I checked in and that the other groups seated had reservations. The confusing part is that I had called around 9:30 PM before coming in and was told they do not take reservations. When I brought that up, they clarified that they do take reservations, just not same day and that they need to be made days in advance. That information would have been helpful when I called earlier. The friend who introduced me to Hachi also mentioned that they usually only take reservations for groups of six or more, which added to the confusion since none of the groups seated before me were parties of six. I ended up finally being seated at 10:41 PM. The food here really is great, which is why I came back two nights in a row. I just hope the host stand communication and waitlist process can be improved, because the experience at the front door didn't match the quality of the food. read more

Came here for dinner while we were in town for a work conference on a Tuesday night. I was surprised how crowded it was for a work night. Great food and fun vibes. Restaurant offers a variety of Japanese foods including yakitori, sushi, sukiyaki. Our server was great! I enjoyed the jalapeño yellowtail and the wagyu skewers. Love the concept of this place. They have a variety of handrolls and great daily happy hour. Service is excellent! Can tell all the servers and BOH work well together. Portions and variety are good. The kanpachi crudo was my favorite. Unagi, salmon, eggplant, scallop are all great. Scallops are very fresh. Wasnt a huge fan of the uni pasta (udon). They also have rolls if you prefer those too. It was an area that was behind a glass partition- a good area for kids so we didn't have to cause any commotion with being too loud. We spent $180 after tip and ate so much food, ranging from: - tongue - wagyu beef - chicken skin - chicken wings - chicken thighs - scallops - 2 x ramen bowls - honey toast with ice cream - duck - pork belly - eel - bacon wrapped mochi Everything was tasty.
