One of my favorite restaurants! It's definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is absolutely amazing and, in my opinion, worth every penny. They are also incredibly kind and attentive to kids. They have a cute kids' plate and cup set, although my daughter decided she didn't want to use them this time. The foie gras is THE BEST. I love it every single time--it's one of the dishes I always look forward to. We also tried their new mapo tofu, and it was incredible! Unfortunately, it tends to sell out because they don't have enough pots to keep up with demand, which is such a shame because it's SO good. Since my daughter can't eat spicy food, they were kind enough to accommodate us by serving the sauce on the side and giving her just the tofu. She basically ate all of it and left the sauce for us! The grilled dishes are also fantastic--super juicy while still cooked all the way through, with that perfect amount of crispiness on the outside. Everything is just so well done. The only downside is that it can get really hot inside. The AC doesn't seem to be strong enough, especially when the restaurant is busy, so hopefully they can improve the temperature because it would make the dining experience even better. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time! This is not a place where you want to just show up and hope to get a table. It's popular for a reason! Raku, a legendary Izakaya started first on Spring mountain in 2008 and then opened Toridokoro Raku in 2020. My first visit was in 2021. This last visit in last month seems to be a bit underwhelming compared to before. Service (3/5): food comes out fast. Service was ok. Not super friendly or attentive. Ambiance (4/5): traditional Japanese izakaya feel with the small bar area and a few tables. Food (4/5): Will order again: Variety skewers: most of the skewers that we got such as chicken thigh, chicken heart and chicken gizzard were all good. Although it's strange that they were not hot when they came off the grill. I wonder if they reheat them in the back?! Make sure they give you the ones off the grill. Chicken soft bone with Brussels sprouts (5/5): we enjoy this dish a lot. Juicy fried chicken (5/5): Raku staple. One of the best fried chicken. Omakase on a normal day. Nothing but the best for the girl who means the world to me. Originally came cause I saw the mapo tofu sold here looked good and I wanted to try. We did the $70 set and man we could not finish the food and it was really good! They make it so presentable and cute too! My style for sure. My favorite was the uni and ikura bowl. Also the strawberry sherbet was sooo good. The place is kind of small and the plaza isn't the best. The servers were running the entire show themselves. Toridokoro Raku has been on my list for quite a while now and this past Vegas we finally had a chance to try it out. Reservations is a must and I made mine a month before we went. Toridokoro isn't a big restaurant it has about 4 to 5 tables and 8 counter seating. Once arrived we were greeted right and was seated at the counter which was perfect. We get to watch the chef do his magic The plan was to try out their omakase but instead we opt out and ordered al carte. Which turned out to be great. We ordered the following: We started with the Appetizers Set to share. The set comes with five different cold Appetizers. We enjoyed it. It was light and refreshing. Yakitoi: HATSU-This was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly grilled so tender and juicy. KAWA- The Skin was nice and crispy. FOIE GRAS- Definitely my favorite. So rich and buttery. It's a must order at any RAKU location. Bonjiri- This was our second favorite. The chicken was tender and juicy. Momo- These thighs were great. Dakimi- Wish we order a few more of this one. The crispy chicken skin kept the breast nice and moist. Isabella Yaki- This Mochi was better at all. It just felt like eating a dessert for me. Liver Nira- Talking about drinking food. I wanted to come here after seeing an IG reel of their homemade mapo tofu. Unfortunately they did not have it that day, but everything else we ordered was a hit. This place is definitely a good experience as an introduction to someone who hasn't done a Japanese Omakase and/or someone that isn't into raw fish. The reason why is because this is an Omakase where the main ingredient they utilize is chicken and the price point isn't as high compared to sushi omakases. The best thing about Omakase is that you don't have to really look at the menu. The chef will serve you items that they suggest and you may even be able to try some new things. They will take you on a journey through different types of flavors and textures with the base of it primarily chicken. The omakase alone is pretty good, but you can also order additional dishes if you like. You may even come across something that you like and you can even order extra of that also. With the omakase and maybe one extra dish, I was pretty full so I wouldn't suggest to over order from the very beginning. We did the omakase with a sake pairing which is pretty nice when it comes to omakases. The drinks kind of bring you on a journey of flavors that can help pair with the food you're eating. Not to mention you also get to drink and eat at the same time which is always nice. We had a reservation right when they opened so it was pretty empty and chill. We noticed that some people didn't have a reservation, but since they weren't booked, they were able to seat them. The ambiance is pretty cool especially when you sit at the bar. You get to watch the chef grill skewers which can be similar to watching a bartender make several of your drinks. read more

Highly recommend the very rare and usually never distributed ENZo wines....If you know you know only sold exclusively at their vineyards in Northern California with membership or only in Japan!! I don't like write negative reviews especially I'm very loyal to Raku brand, but this experience left me genuinely disappointed. Like many people, I came here because of the nonstop social media promotion of their Mapo Tofu. Every influencer seemed to be featuring it, and it's pretty obvious the restaurant invested heavily in influencer marketing. It worked--we made a Thursday 6:00 PM reservation specifically because of that dish. We've been loyal customers of the original Raku on Spring Mountain for years and still visit almost monthly. We never had much interest in this location since chicken isn't really our thing, but the Mapo Tofu campaign convinced us to give it a chance. We were seated right away, although the hostess came across as rude and impatient with several guests. After ordering drinks, we asked our server where the Mapo Tofu was because we couldn't find it on the menu. Her response: "It's not available." No apology. No explanation. As a customer, this felt like a bait-and-switch. You spend weeks flooding social media with one specific dish, invite influencers to showcase it, get people to make reservations because of it, and then don't even have it available without any warning. If it's a limited special, sold out, or only offered on certain days, say so. Put it on your website, your social media, or tell people when they make reservations. Don't let customers show up expecting the one dish you heavily advertised only to find out it isn't being served. Las Vegas isn't just locals. People travel here, make reservations, and choose restaurants based on what they see online. There are hundreds of dining options in this city. Driving across town or planning a night around one advertised dish only to discover it's unavailable is incredibly frustrating. We stayed because we'd already been seated and ordered drinks, but the experience started on the wrong foot. The food was decent--about 3/5. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out enough to justify all the hype. The original Raku on Spring Mountain is still far better in both execution and overall experience. Influencer marketing may get people through the door once, but disappointing paying customers is what they'll remember. I've always been curious about this place because I pass by it every time I'm in the plaza getting tea. I was lucky enough to get a walk in seat at the counter during one of my recent trips to Vegas. I wasn't sure I could finish all the food from the omakase course since I arrived at 9PM, but hey, it's Vegas - why not go for it. All the dishes were really good. My overall experience felt like I was transported back to Japan with the level of service and quality of food. Although I usually eat my food as they are presented, I did try some of the sauce and salt they provided. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving yakitori. I also recommend the sweet potato w/ butter, grilled mochi (in my opinion it could do without the nori wrap), grilled rice balls. The ginger pork cheek was okay... maybe it was the sauce? Toridokoro Raku was an amazing chicken yakitori spot for our first visit. One note: yes, RSVPs have to be done through phone. I have heard some of the not so friendly stories about this, but I was super fortunate to have called close to the opening time and easily get a reservation time for the next day. Your mileage may vary! Coming to Toridokoro Raku, compared to Raku, you'll notice it's sleek and modern. Even though there are several grills in the side of the restaurant and open to the rest of the restaurant, the ventilation system they use is wonderful. We did not come out smelly at all after we ate here. We got bar seating and loved watching the whole process which was wonderful and being handed several of the skewers. As mentioned before as well, this is focused on mostly just chicken items with a few other non-chicken items. There is also an omakase option, but we opted to go a la carte which was pretty good as we ended up with about a little over 11+ items which came out to about a little under $100. I got the cold hojicha which was wonderful. A few of our favorite skewers/items included: the chicken heart, skin, ground chicken with poached egg (only feedback was that the poached egg came out really early and the ground chicken does take a while), chicken oyster (so, so good), sweet potato with irish butter, and mushroom. You can really taste the charcoal and some nice flourishing touches like the oil in the mushroom. All-in-all, it was surprisingly one of our favorite meals for this Vegas trip and would totally go back. read more

A few months ago, I went on a last minute road trip with my friends to Utah and stopped by Vegas on the way. We ate at this really really fancy restaurant that was extremely expensive called Raku and my friend mentioned a few things about going to the wrong location. Then we went to this location and were amazed at the food and it was wild because the price was 2-3x cheaper, but a lot of the items were the same from the other location! Then, my friend called me a week ago and told me I should to go to Vegas with him. I thought about it for about 30 minutes and after realizing I could get my flight reimbursed in miles and stay at his friend's condo, it might be worth the trip. I asked him if we were going to do anything, and he said nothing of substance, so I was intrigued, but what made me decide to go is when I asked him if we could eat here. He said yes, so I went! We got so many skewers, from chicken hearts (so good), gizzard, tail, skin, sweet potato, onion, rice cake (which was amazing to dip into the scallop, along with the mochi too) and okra. Then we got their special, which was chicken nuggets, and their chicken kaarage, which is a showstopper due to the juiciness and crunchiness of the skin. The scallop was completely to die for and had so much flavor. The smoked chicken dish had a unique smoke flavor to it that was really good, but I forgot to mix in the spicy ingredient that it was supposed to mix it with, which probably would've taken it to the next level. The pork cheek, my friend liked a lot and I thought it was okay, but the filet mignon or beef dish was quite a treat. I wanted to get these little fishy things I got last time, but I don't think they're on the menu anymore. The chef cooks everything on demand and brings it out in the order it's best to be eaten in and like any robata type place, you get so much flavor packed in every bite. Not to mention the cooking times and precision and quite flawless. The service here is great and you get a really good ambiance of the place as well, with chopstick holders made out of charcoal, unique dips like a green tea salt and so much more. They give you a free tea at the end of your meal too! This is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

My party and I shared several dishes. The interaction with him felt weirdly awkward, he didn't ask us if we had any questions about the menu or special menu. It also took a while for him to check on us if we were ready to order, and he didn't come check on us if we needed refill with water. The two female servers made up for it halfway through our meal. Relatives in from out of town. My brother-in-law has eaten in Toridokoro many times - his favorite Japanese restaurant in Vegas. He was anxious to introduce us to this restaurant. The restaurant is very small in a small strip mall. The restaurant had 2 tables for 6 and one for 4 and seating for about 8 at the "bar" where the chef was doing the cooking. Service was very attentive throughout the meal. Unfortunately, since he had been here many times before, we had him do all of the ordering - so I have no memory of what we ate. Most of the items were from the Robata Grill portion of the menu. I took photos of each item. The mushrooms and the chicken had a very tasty grilled flavor YUMMM. I've been to Sushi raku on the strip, and my experience there was a 4/5. Felt the need to give Raku another try so made reservations for Toridokoro last weekend. We showed up a little late for our reservation of 6pm. Their dining room surrounds the yakitori grill and we got front row seats at the bar with the chef in action. The menu is extensive, so we opted to do their omakase for $80 that had a great variety of their popular items. Started with the appetizer set that included 5 bite sized plates - cheese (forget the type) with balsamic, chicken sausage with vegan jelly, shrimp in seafood sauce, fried sea bass, and fried lotus chips. This was followed by the second dish (my favorite) their homemade soft tofu, lightly breaded and fried in a rich chicken soup. Next, we had a series of skewers ranging from chicken skin, cartilage, heart, liver, tomato, and duck. A couple small plates were also served including thigh meat and sea scallops served on a scallop shell. The meal ended with a small bowl of noodles in clear chicken broth. We came here for our anniversary and I thought it would have a little more sushi until I found out it was mostly a skewer omakase. The food was all great though. I wish the uni ikura bowl was a bigger portion. Other than that, the service was great. I do wish it was a little bigger inside though! read more

This is one of my favorite places in Las Vegas. The menu is clean and has specials, and the food is consistently flavorful and delicious. I like the staff who is attentive and very polite. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating, and we never feel crowded so I would call this intimate, but not exclusive. I really like their foie gras robata, but the foie gras don is delicious too. And I believe they make their own tofu which you have 4 choices. read more

Not sure what this place doesn't have more reviews. A true standout. Authentic yakatori. On the same level as what I had in Japan. Some items are limited and may sell out. The tail and the skin were my favorite. Large variety of skewers and sake. Service was top notch. Small intimate Japanese restaurant setting. read more
