Came here on a Saturday afternoon! The parking outside was easy to find. The food was really tasty and the katsu was very crispy. The main reason I'm giving a four star is that the service was slow when I came in it seemed like only one worker. The food is very delicious and inside vibe was very Japanese looking!

If I can give more than 5 stars, I would definitely give this awesome place 100 stars! The best Pork Katsu so far that I have ever tasted! They even have a Japanese suribachi (mortar with unglazed ridges) and surikogi (wooden pestle). Our server was friendly and pleasant. The place is very clean and orderly. The Japanese vibe is on point. Will highly recommend and coming back every time we are in Las Vegas.

Rosa Katsu. Looks good, but the meat was mushy (probably from too much time in the tenderizer).
Chris T.

both the Rosu and Hire Katsu were mushy (possibly from being tenderized) and the sauce was too tangy, although they let you grind your own sesame. I have had much better in Seattle and Vancouver BC. We couldn't finish our meals from the weird texture of the meats.

Still one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in Vegas. Serving katsu. Their katsu is breaded and Seasoned perfectly. Can't go wrong with any kind of protein. Served with unlimited cabbage salad. Can get a combo meal with soba or udon as well. Love the soba with dipping sauce. Service is always attentive.

Ambiance of this place was good! Bright and spacious! The hostess who greeted us also took our order. Very good service! She was attentive though she looked like the only one there. We came here because I was craving katsu. We placed our order and it came out right away. I really wanted to love the place but the katsu seemed a little too greasy. My mouth felt a little more oilier than I expected. The flavor was there but there was something missing that I couldn't pin down. I'd come back in a pinch to satisfy the katsu craving. The service after all was good and I did like the atmosphere.

This is not my first time here, but this is my first time writing a review for this place. We were greeted right away hostess was really friendly. When we got there, it wasn't too busy so we were served really quickly. I always order Gyoza when I go here, it's always hot and crispy. This time we ordered the cheese Katsu and also the Tori Katsu. I got my Tori Katsu with the cold soba noodles. Katsu was really crispy super juicy, and the cold soba noodles was an excellent side choice. The food here is always consistent. Rice is cooked perfectly and I love the miso soup. Food comes out fast and cooked very well. I think their portions here are perfect. The shredded lettuce on the side with the dressing is very tasty. Do they have a lot of choices as far as drinks are concerned they even said they even have some Hawaiian sun juice there. I love coming here for my katsu fix and I will definitely be back for more. Give this place a try and happy eating.

We came here the first time with no expectation of what this place could be, but it surprisingly so yummy. Order does take a bit to come out but It tasted very clean and fresh. You can tell the tempura is made to order. We've gone here multiple times now and the food and service have been very consistent.

5/5 food and flavor and taste - the Katsu is one of the lightest and most clean tasting katsus I've ever had - soba is excellent as well - presentation and portion are perfect - curry and cheese katsu tastes fresh - the interior does not match the taste of the food - that's my only gripe with the place, it looks like some mid level taco shop, but the food is like a 5 star Japanese place Awesome place

Amazing food whichever we tried, great service but she always by herself and she still tackles all wonderfully. I really think this place has best katsu and soba udon in LV. With my kids we tried many and we always come back here. We were here Thanksgiving week and now in Christmas week. And we live in LA. Try them and you will be back. Locals are so lucky here

I loveeee it here! Definitely an underrated Katsu place imo. Staff is always friendly and service is always consistent! Their portions are huge and comes with so much, I always leave full and happy! I do wish they would work on the ambiance a little bit, the lights are a bit blinding and the music does not always match the appropriate vibe-- otherwise I love this place, and will come back!

Great katsu, their breading is authentic and so light and crispy. I do like that they have the sesame grinding for the fragrance. Service was friendly, they could use some help though as it was one waitress for 5-6 tables. Ambiance felt like a family business, it was nice for bringing kids to as there was enough space and not too crowded.

I love katsu and eat it pretty often- Tora was definitely in the top 5 for me! I ate the pork hire katsu, which is a tenderloin and it was amazing. The perfectly flaky crust was light and airy and not oily at all. The pork was tender and juicy. I love the fresh ground sesame seeds and their delicious katsu sauce. I love how tie paired with little side dishes like salad, soup, and tofu. Definitely will come back and eat this again

Shrimp katsu curry with cold soba combo

First thing I noticed was that the exterior was different from the surrounding attached spaces. It looked like they had put in effort to make a good first impression. I thought, 'oh, looks nice already', but i've eaten at a lot of katsu places both abroad and in the states, so I wasnt expecting much from one in the states. Boy, was I wrong! I ordered the shrimp katsu curry with cold soba combo, while my husband ordered the hirekatsu with udon combo. Once our orders were in, they gave us some sesame seeds in a mini mortar and pestle. I stared at it confused, but my husband immediately started grinding it and I followed along. It was a fun way to pass the time as well. They put a sauce on top of it to mix with the grinded seeds, I think to dip the katsu in. Once the good came out, the visuals were what you would expect from other katsu places, but the taste! It was so good! The breading was so light and crispy, you have to eat it to explain, but it didnt taste at all heavy or crunchy thick. It had a very clean fry that made the katsu even better. When I commented on it, I think the owner? mentioned that the breading was all homemade with real bread, and not store bought. The curry was really good as well, with real depth to the flavors. Of course I stole some of my husband's hirekatsu and it didnt disappoint! My husband also enjoyed everything too. We only come to Vegas about once every 2 years and we're definitely adding this place to one of my lunch defaults. Only wish we found it sooner!

A few general words of advice…read more.. If you want to dine in, plan to show up early. They open at 12 PM and close at 3 PM, with last call for seating at 2:30 PM. Takeout follows similar rules -- you'll still likely have to wait, just like dine-in customers. If 2:30 PM passes and they can't seat you, they'll let you place a takeout order for whatever's still available, based on your position on the sign-in/waiting list. If you're only coming for nigiri, expect a wait, but the line moves fairly quickly. On a recent Friday afternoon around 1:30 PM, we waited about 20-30 minutes. They bring people inside in small groups and hand you a basket to carry your items. As for the nigiri itself, it's very solid. The seafood is noticeably fresher than what you'd find at a typical Japanese grocery or market. For example, the salmon is cut from a proper fillet rather than taken from a can, and the difference is clear. Stay tuned for the bowl review...

Parking was in a shared lot, again no issues due to day/time we arrived. Since I was recently in Japan, I noticed the ambiance is on point We ordered the Jumbo Scallop Katsu and Pumpkin Katsu appetizer and were off to a great start. Both were tasty and perfectly cooked. The scallops were so good, we ordered a 2nd round. We shared the Kuro-Buta Pork Loin Katsu Set and were blown away . Tender, juicy, tasty, and oh soooo crispy. A couple of items of note. They will get you more shredded cabbage on request, excellent with the dressing provided. You get to make your own katsu sauce which was fun and a great way to engage the customer while waiting for your food. WARNING: Seating is limited, they DO NOT take reservations. Our second time here and the food is amazing yet again! The seating wraps around the open bar and…read morekitchen area, so you're essentially dining around the heart of the cooking space. It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture. Our favorites were definitely the eel and scallop skewers.
