Still our favorite spot in Vegas. We always come here when we visit Vegas and it still does not disappoint. Service was delightful and spot on. It's easy enough to get to via Lyft/Uber. We loved everything we had this time. The Raku tofu is still very good; it's their home-made tofu. The oyaji tofu is a half portion of the same tofu with different fix-ns; chili crunch, preserves vegetables, etc. The blue fin tuna sashimi, juicy fried chicken, and fried ice fish were stand outs in addition to the tofu this time. I also love the condiments they have at the table - for use with the dishes. We were in Vegas for five nights this time and Raku easily beat other on-strip restaurants we went to as the best restaurant we dined at on this trip. Until next time!

I'm a big eater, so one tasting course wasn't enough, and I like trying a variety of dishes and drinks. The food was okay, nothing really stood out or gave me a reason to return. Overall, it felt overpriced especially for the skewers and the small dishes, compared to the more convenient dining options at the casino resorts.

Took hubby here for dinner. Very authentic, so savory, full of flavors, quality ingredients, & overall enjoyable! Generous portions. Friendly service.

Had a double date at Raku. We booked reservations a week in advance just in case. I thought the food was good but a bit pricey for what it was. Our server was tentative and gave some good recommendations. We ordered the raw liver, salad, mushrooms, fish head, sashimi, fried chicken, tofu and donburi with egg, uni, mushroom and okra. The uni bowl was probably my favorite bite. If given other options I'd probably check out other restaurants before coming back here given the price point. Unfortunately I was still hungry after our $400+ meal for 4 people.

Celebrated a special occasion here over the weekend and needless to say it did not disappoint! We made a reservation ahead of time since they are packed and it's definitely recommended. We arrived and got seated immediately after checking in. Lights were dimmed to provide a more intimate, romantic ambiance. They don't have a huge menu and it was mostly robata grilled items with some sashimi/sushi specials. We decided to do the deluxe chef's menu and added some skewers on the side. That was quite the experience! The price tag was hefty, but the amount of food that we got, coupled with the presentation and the freshness of the ingredients made for one special dinner. Every course from tofu, appetizers, sashimi, to stone grilled wagyu and dessert were thoroughly explained to us by our server, and the order of presentation was very well thought of. We were very pleased with the chef's menu. Service was excellent for the most part. The check in served was rude, but the server more than made up for it with her wittiness and caring demeanor. We left very impressed and would be open to coming back in the future!

I have been wanting to come here for years and finally got the opportunity with my family. Amazing experience! Pros - phenomenal food and presentation. The waiters were super nice and gave excellent recommendations. Our favorites includes the grilled mushrooms, wagyu skewers, agedashi tofu, green tea soba, scallops, yellowtail, uni, Cons - parking can be tough in the small plaza Overall a great dinner experience. One of the freshest Japanese style grill places in town and definitely worth the wait

If you admire carefully selected ingredients and well-executed cooking techniques, this is a good spot. (5/5) * foie gras bowl - fatty, smokey soy sauce, amazing short grain rice * raku tofu * skirt steak skewer * soy sauce (4/5) * daily special grilled branzino * green tea soba * tuna sashimi - REALLY enjoyed the wasabi and seaweed paste(?) on the side (3/5) * okra * duck skewer The decor and ambiance make it a nice spot for a nicer-casual meal. Random but I love the aquatic themed bathroom w the fish tank! Personally I'd come back next time alone just to savor the food and techniques.

Came here from cousin's suggestion. Parking is very difficult. Aside from that the interior was nice and fancy. We got seated in a corner room by ourselves Food was definitely out of this world. Raku tofu was very rich and fresh. Highly recommend. Beef skewers also very tender and flavorful. Wonder condiments especially the ume soy sauce. Very good when eating with most of the food items. Service was also nice Would recommend this place for high end izakaya experience.

They converted me to being a tofu lover!! Everything we tried - and we pretty much tried everything - was amazing. They were very helpful with the sake selection as well The meats and fishes were very fresh! It's not much of a drive from the strip and amazing place to spend your money

This is the second place we have been here and its been great. The decor, the greet, and the service is what you can ask for in a Japanese restaurant. The food is really good, quality, and tasteful, the delicate taste of each dish, the minute yet flavorful taste of the miso soup, the fluffy yet subtle saltiness of the salmon eggs and soy based soup was complimentary. Each dish was very unique and carefully prepared. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to enjoy a proper Eloquent but yet quaint dinner with their loved one or someone whom they have been dating for a while.

With every trip to Las Vegas, this is my "must go" restaurant. Always delicious and always with excellent service. I introduce everyone who visits Vegas to Raku. It's SO worth the trip to go outside the strip to visit this quaint little unassuming restaurant in a strip mall! Best to make a reservation as they have limited seating. And don't forget to visit the restroom to see their fishtank :)

My husband and I stopped by Raku on Saturday night after a day of basketball action at NBA Summer League and had a delicious dinner! We were able to secure an 8PM reservation for 2 about an hour beforehand, and it was still a full house as we ate, so definitely recommend booking a table whenever you can. We decided to split a bunch of skewers and appetizers; everything was delicious. The 1/2 Raku tofu and 1/2 agedashi tofu were perfect portions for the two of us to share, and it was probably the best tofu I've ever had. The Raku tofu was so soft and fresh and went really well with the in-house soy sauce and accoutrements. The agedashi tofu came in a perfectly flavored broth and had the thinnest crust while still remaining a bit crispy after floating in the dashi. Highly recommend both dishes! Our favorites of the skewers were the eggplant (amazing char flavor), the kobe beef outside skirt (so tender!), and the kurobuta pork cheek (super juicy), but everything we tried was great. We also ordered the fresh fish of the day; the kitchen accidentally brought it out to us grilled instead of fried like we'd asked for, and in apology they gave us each a complimentary portion of fried fish in broth with okra. Also super delicious! We ended with the cold green tea soba and it was a perfect cap to our meal on such a hot July evening. Hojicha was super reasonably priced and we left super stuffed. Can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Vegas!

    Ask the Community - Raku

Hope to call and make a reservation for a week but the mail box is always full. Any suggestions on getting a spot there?

They use Resy for bookings - Aburiya Raku

Is raku closing on the June 30?

I think it's the Sweets Raku that's closing soon, not this one.

    Does the restaurant offer corkage?

You'd have to call. I did not see it noted on their menu.

Want to have the omakase with friends. One person is a vegetarian. Is she able to either order a la carte or do a vegetarian omakase? Another doesn't eat raw fish. Can they substitute that dish for something else?

What times are their omakase seating?

The omakase seating is available from opening to closing. This is a standard option in addition to their regular menu. (PS: Really good!)

I have tried calling the restaurant during business hours several times a night for the last two weeks. It always goes straight to voicemail. They say do not leave a voicemail for reservations. I've also texted an no response. Any suggestions?

Yes, that was my experience as well. I just kept calling, eventually someone did pick up and i was able to make a reservation.

Do you have any outdoor seating?

No, there are no outdoor seating

Does this restaurant have a dress attire? Jeans and tees are acceptable?

Jeans and tees are acceptable. Just went last week and saw men coming in, in shorts. It's Vegas so really no issues.

Is it possible to make a reservation request weeks/months in advance?

Yes, but tough to get them to answer the phone.... Call during business hours ie after 6 pm

I tried to call many times after 6pm to make reservation, but its always go to voice mail, is there any way that I can make reservation?

I would try texting the number!

How many courses are there in the $150 (Deluxe) Omakase?

We had the Premium Omakase and it had 11 courses plus dessert.

    What is their corkage policy?

Are they social distancing the tables and guests?

Yes they are limiting the number of occupants at one time. No parties larger than 6 at one table.

Any tips on making reservations? It says phone call only, but I have been calling for the past couple of weeks, left messages, and sent emails and have not gotten a response. Thanks!

You have to call when they are open so after 6 pm on any day but Sunday.

Do they have an omakase and how much does it cost?

Hi there yes they do. The price varies from $150-$300. I believe there's a pic on the menu section. I would definitely recommend it.

How far in advance must I make the reservation ? Any chance of a last minute cancellation for really early slots?

It depends on when you want to eat and the number of people in your party. I was recently there by myself for work on a random weekday and called before my plane took off and got seated with no issue at 10PM. But for larger parties and popular meal… Read more

    Is Raku closed for renovations?

    No it isn't

What should I budget for omasake per person? We are women in the 40's, and not really big eaters, but we can eat a regular meal....

I'd budget $60-$80 per person for food. My husband and I usually spend about $100-$150 per person because he can eat a lot.

I've been calling Raku for over a week and it keeps going to vm. Did they get rid of reservations and it's first come first serve now?

I made a reservation in July for a August date. They don't open in the day time so you have to try calling at night either right when they open or much later at night. They are very busy from the hours of 7-11 so they either not answer or doesn't… Read more

How do you make a reservation? I've been calling and it's going to a voicemail.

You make reservations by phone. However, they only answer the phone during business hours and when service is slow. So, keep calling.

My friends and I got here at 11:15ish to line up, and we were the 3rd party in line and the last group to get seated in the first round. It was a tiny cozy shop so definitely expect to wait unless you plan to come early. It was nice that they opened the onigiri section at 11:30 and since we were the first few people in line, we had all the selections we could ever want and were able to browse while waiting for our meal. I ended up eating all the onigiris later in the day. They were NOT skimpy at all on toppings! I'm not a huge fan of onigiri because I feel like most places just stuff them with just rice, but I felt like these were so perfectly distributed and I was able to get a bite of the topping every time. My favorites I tried were the A5 wagyu, which was so juicy! The other ones I tried were the salmon mayo, mentaiko, and truffle spam and egg, which were all also incredible. Now for the fun part, our dining experience! Everything was made to order and crafted perfectly. I got the A5 wagyu steak plate and was completely blown away! The steak melted in my mouth and it was also seasoned so well! The rest of the tempura was also delicious, and all the sides that it came with like the fresh wasabi, pickled veggies, and miso soup. Everything just complemented the others so well and it was also the perfect amount, where I was able to savor every bite and enjoy it while not feel stupidly gluttonous and full at the end. We had a very solid end to our meal with a matcha tiramisu, which was rich, creamy, and delicious! The ladyfingers were moist and paired so well with the richness of the matcha. I wish this place was closer to me so I could come back more often. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Vegas even though it's off the strip!

Expectations were high for Gyu + as we saw quite a few YouTube videos and Instagram reels. We…read morearrived around 11:15 and the line was out the door already. We ordered the Lulu's Sando box and the chips. The bread is what makes this sando amazing! The chicken katsu sandwich was definitely the winner and our favorite. The egg salad needed a little more flavor and one of the egg salad sandwiches barely had any egg salad in it, after 1 bite the rest was literally bread. The steak sandwich was tender and good. Chips had a homemade taste and seasoning was good. Service was fine, very busy and seemed short staffed. Staff was nice and doing the best they can with the crowd. While we were wawiting, seems like the owner came in and took charge and things started moving more efficiently. Overall, it was decent. If there was no wait, I'd definitely order the chicken katsu or the steak sandwich just on its' own.

Because it was our first time, we wanted to sample a little of everything (and feed hungry kids),…read moreso we ordered the Steak Sando, Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando, Shrimp Sando, Pork Belly Rice Box, and the Chef's Box. Everything came out flavorful and well put together--no bland bites, no soggy bread, and nothing felt "thrown on a plate." Even our kids (who aren't big sandwich fans) couldn't stop eating, which is basically the highest compliment in our house. The shrimp sando was the clear standout. The shrimp patty is huge--honestly burger-sized--with a crispy panko crust that stayed crunchy, and the shishito pepper mayo added just the right kick without overpowering the shrimp. The shokupan bread deserves its own shout-out too: soft and pillowy, but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart or getting soggy. If you're going for just one thing, I'd start there. The Steak Sando was rich and satisfying, and the Spicy Chicken Katsu hit that comfort-food spot with a nice little heat. If you're more of a rice person (or you want something extra filling), the Pork Belly Rice Box and Chef's Box are great choices--both were packed with flavor and felt like a solid meal, not a skimpy "side box." We ordered a mix and it was perfect for sharing family-style, but everything also works as its own main. Another pleasant surprise: the space is larger than it looks from the front. There are a few high-top seats up front, plus a back room with tables and booths, so it's not just a quick grab-and-go spot. And Thursday through Saturday they set up a social lounge and offer a bonus menu with additional options. We're definitely coming back to check that out (and the karaoke setup too).
