A can't miss if you seek a high end Omakase. Reservations are accepted up to one month in advance by phone and Resy only. This was a superb Omakase and we went for it all with the 8 course Premium Chef Omakase called the "Kabuto Course." Everything is presented with friendly precision. The servings are generous and delicious. All the fish was fresh. The assortment of tuna included THE best variety of toro(s) I have ever tasted. Bring your appetite for a totally indulgent experience. One note is that, unlike other omakase places, Kabuto is inappropriately loud. Also, the decor is basic and if you are seated at a table for four, two of you will be facing a blank wall. Pro tip--try to get a seat at the counter.

Outright refusal to accommodate for gluten allergies

I booked a meal here while I was on vacation assuming this place would be nice and accommodating especially with the amount of money they're charging for an omakase. Upon confirming today, as well as the initial reservation, they text me refusing to accommodate my gluten allergy. I am well aware that soy sauce is used in most Asian food. I am also well aware that there are restaurants that are accommodating to allergies, including gluten. I am absolutely appalled that they didn't even bother to try and work anything out with advanced notice or have anything in place for people with gluten allergies. I didn't ask to develop a gluten allergy, nor should I be punished for it.

We came to Kabuto to celebrate our anniversary and ordered the $185 omakase for two. The food was excellent--beautifully prepared, high-quality fish, and a thoughtfully paced progression of courses. Service was attentive and professional throughout. However, the overall experience felt rushed toward the end. Because the omakase is quite substantial, we naturally needed a bit more time to enjoy each course. We weren't lingering excessively, but we were told that the next reservation was arriving, which made us feel pressured to finish sooner than we would have liked. For a special-occasion dinner--especially at this price point--that sense of being hurried detracted from what would otherwise have been a wonderful experience. I understand restaurants manage tight seating schedules, but guests choosing a full omakase should be allowed a comfortable amount of time to enjoy it. With more flexible pacing or clearer expectations upfront, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

Our first time at Kabuto was to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. This would have been a 5-star review back then because the chef-to-guest experience was outstanding. We enjoyed it so much (especially the jabara-toro) that we decided to bring the whole family here on our next Vegas trip. My husband (John L) had the best reasons to go last December - his birthday and Christmas! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment compared to our first visit. Since it was the holiday season, we had to pay a higher price per person. It was advertised as better than their regular Kabuto Course (Premium Chef Omakase). Our party of 5 occupied one side of the counter. The ambience was great and the servers were very attentive. Other than the "Holiday Special" printed on the menu, everything looked the same as the Premium Omakase offering - appetizer, warm dish, sashimi, seasonal grill, nigiri premium selection, hand roll, soup, and dessert. The nigiri selection was superb highlighted by the akamutsu, ezo-bafun uni, kinme-tai, and botan-ebi. However, there was one glaring difference between this visit and the first one - we did not get the jabara-toro as our last nigiri. We got the otoro which was also delicious, but we hyped the jabara-toro so much for our two daughters and our would-be son-in-law that the excitement went so far down the drain when we did not get it. To save the night, we had to order a round of jabara-toro for everyone. Comparing this with our phenomenal first-time visit, I could say we paid much more for less. I understand that "omakase" is chef's choice, but our chef should have picked the finest cut of the belly. The menu says "Holiday Special" after all.

Found this spot while searching for an omakase spot as my friend mentioned she was craving one while we were on a vacation in Las Vegas. We did the $175/pp Kabuto option which was 8-courses incl. seasonal grill and 12 pcs. of Nigiri. The two of us arrived shortly before 8PM and we were seated in a four person table both facing the bar. The restaurant was very open and luckily not echoey as conversation between parties started ramping up. We were worried the experience would be lessened by the fact we got a table and that was not the case. Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes being brought to us course by course and even recommended we get light rice and adjusting it as needed while my friend got full near the end. Everything was of a wide variety and tasted fresh. The highlight had to have been the chawanmushi which was well cooked and packed with ingredients. The seasonal grill, a miso sea bass did seem slightly dryer than others I've had, it was the only thing I felt was lacking. Highly recommend if you're in the area, I felt the pricing was very reasonable for the experience provided compared to similar restaurants in Southern California that I've been to. This one especially a good option for people trying to use the quarterly Platinum Resy benefit as it is listed on the Resy list.

My colleagues and I were looking to grab some sushi for dinner one night while we were in Vegas for a conference. After searching Yelp, Kabuto came up - and the combination of high reviews and great pictures pretty much sealed the deal. That being said, we headed over to check it out. Kabuto is located in a small strip mall - the entrance is unassuming and the interior has a relatively simple setup. The dining area is small - outside of the sushi bar that has about 10 chairs, there are only three other tables. The decor was minimal - there were a couple of accents on the wall but outside of that it was pretty plain. Kabuto offers an omakase prix fixe menu with two choices/price points. We decided to go with the lower-priced option which came with eight courses; after sitting we ordered some sake and then the courses started. They did a good job presenting a variety of dishes - lots of different seafood which were described as each course was served. Everything tasted fresh, with the biggest standouts for me being the fluke served in a brow sauce and the green tea dessert. Service was great - the courses came out at a good pace and everyone was super friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Kabuto - while nothing really blew me away, the quality was there and we had a good meal. I would probably opt for other sushi spots next time I'm in Vegas, but it's definitely worth checking out.

The best sushi in Vegas. My friend and I came here with very high expectations, and they were somehow exceeded. The service is impressive with extreme attention to detail and timing. I love the cozy ambiance with a small Japanese sushi restaurant feel. The food is truly amazing as the fish is super high quality and the omakase hot and cold dishes are beautifully crafted. The price to quality ratio is amazing and I highly recommend.

My experience at Kabuto was incredible. I'm so glad I was able to get a last minute reservation here. From the moment you enter the restaurant, the service is impeccable. All our needs were anticipated, which contributed to a very comfortable and enjoyable dinner. We opted for the $120 omakase menu and planned to just order additional nigiri a la carte if we were still hungry; however, it ended up being the perfect amount! The fish was all extremely fresh and the portion sizes are very fair/satisfactory. Reservation is needed. Bar seating is preferred for the full experience! I can't wait to come back here the next time I'm in Vegas.

Food: 4/5 - Overall, the sushi was beyond my expectation! - There was one piece that was slightly too salty but the others were good. - It would have been better if the rice was warm as when it hit the mouth it appeared cold. -Tamago also would've been nice to be on the warm side, it was cold. -My favorite was the first appetizer dishes. The tofu was soooo good. -The mushroom soup was yummy! Service: 5/5 May was very kind. Very attentive on refilling beverages and friendly. Our chef was also so fast in preparing each piece! Ambiance: 5/5 Clean, modern. Highly recommend and would come again. This place improved since the last time we were here during Covid. As stated earlier, the experience turned out far better than our first time here! Very interesting to also see new chefs here.

Did the $185 with the sake pairing. The service and food quality were excellent. I just learned that I'm not a sake drinker, or at least I didn't like any of the sake. Not their fault though. I sure down them cuz heck I paid for it. I couldn't get to the 6th one cuz deng I'm tipsy. We had reservation at 7:45pm so I like that it wasn't crowded. $600ish for two. Tbh great experience but I like my ayce sushi.

I've been to Kabuto twice now and each time I booked too last minute to make reservations at the bar, so I can only speak from my experience sitting at the tables. The tables themselves are spacious and have their respective servers separate from the servers at the bar. As is accustomed with omakase dining experiences the servers take their time to explain each dish as it is presented to you and I've only had pleasant experiences with the servers I've had. They do their best to accommodate any dietary restrictions, but do keep in mind that omakase by definition is the chefs choice, which means the meal is compromised of a fixed course. There are two fixed course options: yoroi ($120/pp) and kabuto ($175/pp) with an option to add a sake pairing for each course ($62/pp for yoroi; $68/pp for kabuto). The most recent time I've dined here I opted for the yoroi course option with the sake pairing due to not wanting the additional grilled options being offered with the kabuto menu. The course consisted of an appetizer, warm dish, sashimi, nigiri, handroll, soup, and dessert (pictured except for the sashimi and handroll). I found the meal to be very filling and was tapping out by the time the handrolls had arrived. My favorites were the hiyayakko tofu appetizer and the nigiri pieces notably the seabream, uni, and chu-toro (fatty tuna). The sake pairings were lovely and came out with each course. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't the best restaurant to bring guests who speak at what would be considered above average volumes. The atmosphere itself is quieter, which compliments the artistry of the courses, however each time I've visited I've brought guests I was eager to catch up with over a meal and drinks. To the restaurant and servers credit no one said anything to us, but we did feel scrutinized by other patrons notably the woman sitting beside us who glared at my partner and visibly rolled her eyes multiple times when we each walked back from the bathroom lol. Overall I do love this omakase, but strongly recommend going with a "tamer" bunch.

Amazing omakase experience! Located in a plaza in Chinatown, this restaurant offers an exclusive and intimate opportunity to taste fresh fish with omakase chefs. There were many courses filled with a diversity of flavors and tender fish. A waitress is designated just for you and explains each dish. I came here for a birthday celebration and they brought out a decorated dessert plate.

Wow ! Just wow is the only way to start this review. We were lucky enough to score a reservation for a sitting at the sushi bar. We were celebrating player 2s birthday. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion celebration, as the service and atmosphere are amazing. Booking was easy enough as they use Resy, slightly confusing once you get your Resy confirmation, instructions are to email them with a menu choice. Turns out just reply to the Resy confirmation and it's recorded. Appears the due 2 seating, one early at 545 and one at 745. We did the 745. Easy to find location, very intimate space, looks like only about 12-15 people can be sat at a time. Very traditional Japanese minimalist ambience. Gives Tokyo chic vibes. Now into the food- we chose the Kobuto menu, cause it you're gonna splurge might as well go big. We were not disappointed at all. They also offered sake pairing, which ends up being 6-7 different sakes and essentially a bottles worth. We are big eaters, and we left stuffed after 7 courses ( and 2 additional Otoro rolls). The blue fin Otoro is definitely the star of the show, at least for us. Every course we found ourselves more impressed than the last. Very thoughtfully curated experience. The service was top notch and our server was very informative and helpful. Explained the different regions for the sake and different tastes with the food being served. 100% recommend, we would go here weekly if it made economic sense lmao.

If we have 4 people in the group. Can two people pick the regular omakase and the other two pick the premium?

    yes

Can I bring my own wine? What is the corkage?

My fiancé is pescatarian. I see a lot of the omakase options in Vegas have a wagyu/beef course, and I see that Kabuto allows no substitutions. Can anyone speak to a recent experience of their menu and whether or not it had beef or other meat in it?

I don't recall any meat in any of the courses. If there is one you could just eat his portion.

Wondering if we have to do omakase?

They have a separate table for à la carte orders.

We have show tickets at 7:30. If we did the 5:30 seating will we be done by 7?

Do you accept just one person too?

Will the uni sampler ever be back? I want to taste that red uni that I had 5+ years ago!

I don't recall an "uni sampler", but in my experience they have had two or three different varieties on the menu --- typically one from Santa Barbara and a couple from Japan. You have the option to add additional items ala carte before desert.

How much is corkage (Jan 2023)? What is the bottle limit? Do the chefs drink?

Corkage is $40. I'm not sure bottle limit.

How likely am I to get a reservation for 2 for dinner on a Fri night, for the 7:30 seating, compared to on a Wednesday night?

It depends on how early you plan to reserve. I had a premium omakase seating for a Friday and I booked it a a week and a half out and it had only one slot left which I took.

How many sets are there and How many dishes do you get for the sets?

About 20 seats total and they do 2 seatings per night. The $175 option came with 9 dishes (it was a lot of food).

    Do we need reservations?

    Yes. They are on RESY

Can we go with our one year old baby?

Looking at the pictures of the menu, it looks like you have a great variety of fish. Is it possible to request an Omakase course that consist of all nigiris on the menu?

There is a separate a-la-cart nigiri menu that you can order from when you're dining in to add to your omakase.

What's the difference between the two menus currently offered? ($120 vs $175)

Kabuto Course ($175) includes one more extra dish than Yoroi Course ($125), and the former has more high-end ingredients than the latter.

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!

You don't need to go to the Strip for Ari yeah!…read more Ari Sushi & Izakaya is a very well-Yelped restaurant in the southwest. I've particularly seen buddies post about it on Instagram a lot, and I finally made my way out there since I found that it aligned with my mom's food craving. I went for the Ari Ari Combo ($29.00). It started with a little bowl of balanced miso soup and a tiny side salad with fresh greens and a simple sesame dressing, and was followed by six thin but delicious sashimi slices and four basic but also solid-quality nigiri. I would be more than happy to come back try to more of their raw fish any time. If that doesn't sound like enough for lunch, I did share other food items. The Garlic Edamame ($7.00) felt a little less salted than I expected but was a good portion and had plenty of both a garlic sauce and crispy garlic slivers. I also helped out with a Bento with 3 items ($25.00): bulgogi, mixed tempura, and spicy tuna roll. The bulgogi was tender but not strongly marinated enough and the spicy tuna roll felt pretty standard, but I did really enjoy the shrimp tempura and the veggie tempura pieces which I tried. They were super hot and crispy while being cooked perfectly inside, and the sauce was perfect. The music was relaxing and not played at a very high volume. The restaurant is a little more dim than I'd like and could benefit from overhead narrow-angle lights, but maybe the food was just that good that the lighting wasn't so important. The server was happy to refill my complimentary water with lemon as often as needed, as well as to add more water to the Hot Green Tea ($4.00). I did try some of the tea, and it was potent and low in bitterness. I'm pleased to report that Ari Sushi really does offer delicious sushi, enough so that I'll probably have to make more trips from Henderson to try more of their menu. If you want high quality mid-price-range sushi that's not in an all you can eat format, this is a great place to look.

There were a lot of things on the happy hour menu, so that was nice. I ordered 2 rolls off the happy hour menu; Dragon Roll (5/10) & Shrimp Tempura (5/10). I added cream cheese to the roll. Adding cream cheese was an additional $3. Overall experience was okay, the service was great! The quality was okay, I wouldn't mind trying the place out again but ordering other things off the menu.

Where do I begin with this disaster?!? I've realized there truly are a sh*t ton of people who do…read morenot know how to eat, or at least do not know good food nor have the slightest idea of what quality is. Perhaps they just know "how to eat," as in GLUTTONY and stuffing themselves with bad food. I came here based on a sole recommendation and the 1K+ positive Google reviews. I apologize in advance for being brutally frank as I am certain to insult many people, namely the 1000+ positive Google reviews. I suppose my palate is just at a different level. I do not go to AYCE sushi for a reason, except for one establishment on W. Sahara/S. Tomsik where the quality IS in fact day & night compared to "Top Sushi." From the start I ordered shrimp tempura just to see what type of batter they use and the size of the shrimp. Batter was soggy and no crunch. The shrimp was size 31/40 vs 11/12 like at my only AYCE go-to. Beyond that, the shrimp was pasty. The Korean fried chicken was good; no complaints. The mini udon had good hearty noodles but the broth was warm at best, not hot. Their salad is pure Iceberg, so it's useless with zero nutrition or taste. My other place uses only high quality mixed greens with Romaine. I can hear what you're saying, "Why order these items at an AYCE sushi restaurant?" Because it shows the integrity of an establishment putting items on the menu that pass as filler. The salmon collar was doused in oil and sauce to hide its badly pre-frozen state. This place touts themselves as having the best fish-to-rice ratio. Of course, because the quality of the fish is sooo poor, it doesn't matter. A true sushi is a 1:1 or more generously a 1.25:1 ratio of fish:rice. Any less rice is not sushi! Why fake it?!?! Just order sashimi and a side bowl of rice if you're looking for a lot of fish and a speck of rice! The proper proportions are 12-18 grams of fish to 10-12 grams of rice; that is real sushi! If your entire tray of nigiri is swimming in sauce, you're hiding the frozen fish. My go-to place has IQF fish relatively fresh that there is practically NO sauce! If you want non-frozen, go to an ala carte sushi place not AYCE. Quality fish does not need to hide behind all that muck! If you're the type of sushi eater that just gorges themselves with rolls, then this is the place for you. If you're a true sushi lover meaning nigiri with quality rice or sashimi, DO NOT even attempt coming here! The unagi had a "muddy odor" which is a sign of freezer burn. The hokkigai was so rubbery and 61-70 rather than what should be 51-60 size. The Saba was pure salt! It's supposed to be briny with the influence of the ocean not a salt bed! The mango salmon was unique and flavorful if you want to taste only mango and not the salmon. Seared Escolar was honest. Most sushi places call it "super white tuna" or "white maguro" which is BS! I give Top Sushi that. They do not hide the fact that it is Escolar. Moreover, I counted the word "imitation" 26 times on their menu!! Why would you like to eat "imitation" anyway?!? The salmon skin roll was so chewy I thought I was eating a fishy beef jerky. There are more bad examples but I need to restrain myself. When I looked around at the guests, not a single person looked like they even knew that sushi rice is a specific quality like Tamanishiki, Tamaki Gold, a more affordable Kagayagi (used at better quality AYCE venues) or at the very least Kokuho Rose, nor do they know that it is cooked with Mirin. These are the McDonald's and Denny's crowd. Let's talk about the service. It is a cattle call!! Be prepared to have no conversation, not even a "Hello" with your host/hostess. Just follow her, sit and shut up. When the servers drop off the food, you feel like you're encroaching on their lives. They are miserably unhappy. I made a concerted effort to make eye contact with every server who walked by and smiled at them to draw a response. Not ONE acknowledged me with a smile back or any sign of humanity. In fact, they just looked away and went about their business. Zero engagement; Top is the epitome of a turn-&-burn operation. Let's just make money because these guest do not know any better. The ONE server I noticed was very pleasant serving her guests with enthusiasm. She was the anomaly. The worst part is charging $35 for pure garbage. That's the normal rate for AYCE even at my go-to, but for this quality, $25 at best just for people who do not have discriminating palates and simply want to stuff themselves! In the end, I still gave an industry gratuity out of principle. It's not the staff's fault they work in a mediocre establishment. I tipped 30% nevertheless albeit I will NEVER come back. By the way, the mango mochi and Sapporo were excellent!
